I found out what is going on with my brakes ... the brake light flashing on while racing. When I put my foot on the clutch, the brakes go on; not as lightly as the brake pedal, but if I lean a bit on the clutch pedal, the brakes are really on. That did not help IMO, but probably not much of a penalty. I'll calibrate again, and I will not calibrate the clutch, I am not going to touch the clutch pedal. Fanatec CSL hub with Porsche wheel and Clubsport V3 pedals.

When people don't slow down to let someone correct their car, they make things worse.

Seriously. If I'm driving uphill and I scrub some speed off, the car behind me is going to get a good run on me. Whenever that happened I would edge my car to the side of the track to try and make room to concede a clean pass. Each time I would just get rammed, DR down and an acceleration boost. I don't know how people can't read that situation properly.

The Veyron is fast as well, yet sluggish through the corners. Very stable. I got a faster lap in it than with the Vantage with clear road for a lap to actually drive without having to slow down. V8 Vantage is faster uphill I think, steers a bit better.

Ooh, Viper feels nice. Clean streak at 4 now, need another race in it to set a better time. Stuck in traffic and rammed off, the usual. The Viper was terrible in GR.3 after the update, GR.4 one still feels good.

Nope, got bumped off again and stuck behind a dirty driver. I kept my clean streak, at 5 now. Time to head out as 'clean' hour is over. 8 red ratings, 4 neutral out of 16 in that last race. The Viper has a lot more in it, mostly on the mountain which is not that helpful in a 3 lap race from the back. It keeps the cars behind out of reach anyway.

Top 3 ruled by the letter V (out of 8 cars tried)
2:15.680 Veyron
2:15.899 V8 Vantage
2:16.048 Viper

The results would likely be completely different after qualifying and racing from the front.

I really dislike Gr.2 well... I dislike the GT-R which is the only one I have, snap oversteer all the time... So Alsace just wont be competitive.

I did one lap around it in the Xanavi and I'm all over the place, slid off and hit the wall more times than I care to count. First impression is kind of daunting especially when I consider about racing with others. It's looking like I'll need to sink time into learning the track and racing at the back. Last time I raced here was in the '89 Fairlady  and it wasn't in reverse so this is a whole new ball game to me.

curious to see how you do in the Lexus.
It’s quick. It’s actually a bit eager to rotate under brakes though. Forgot to check if I am on stock bb though. I may have tweaked it before. Haven’t used it in a long time.
Fast on the straights in balance between accel and top speed.
If I race it’s between vette Lexus or AMG

Had a great race in the Megane and a terrible race in the Vantage. It's time to finally nail The Esses with RWD- lift-off oversteer is killing me. I thought it was MR but it's all RWD. And as we all know, FF is so much less fun to drive.

That Vantage is a lot of car to stop- punted someone so hard at The Chase I wanted to write them a letter of apology in the post-race lobby. A simple "I'm sorry" had to suffice.

@Pigems, what to do this week? Watch the US Open, or race cars? Maybe set up 2 TVs. I only have 1 TV, and the tournament is at Pebble Beach, which is incredibly picturesque, so I gotta watch. Plus the US open is my favorite tournament, because they set the courses up to be so difficult, that sometimes the winner isn't even under par.

No doubt it will be the US Open for me. However, if they finish at 10 PM, could jump on for an hour or so.

Ever notice how many people you find in the Discover section that are DR E? There are lots of people with hundreds of liveries and scapes photos that just don't do the Sport Mode racing, at all. I guess it's good that the game can entertain so many people who aren't interested in daily races. 👍

I'm useless with creating liveries so yeah it's great that I can usually find what I want created by someone else. It's just a shame that the in-game discover section is so clunky to use. I often use the website as that's a bit (but not loads) better.

It’s the same with online lobbies. Even as A+/S I frequently get my butt whooped by default E/B racers, it’s pretty funny. Some of the fastest guys I’ve raced with don’t touch Sport mode.

Gaining DR last few weeks has been impossible for me. Doesn't seem to matter how I do. Gain spots lose DR. Lose spots gain DR. Not losing too much so I'm good with it. It's challenging. But it's confusing to track.

Been doing A & B. Very clean around me. But I keep messing up 1 per race.

I'm using the Megane w/ vintage Australian Lemonade livery. Never tried the stuff. Just sounded cool.

Stark contrast to my new Trophy livery... They gave me colourshift paints so I went a bit crazy...

Really liking this car now I've realised it's MR and therefore basically a Renault 5 Maxi Turbo with downforce...

Took a punt with the Vantage. Qualified P11 in a C and D lobby.

Started P10 as someone bugged out pre-kickoff. AutoDrive dropped me on the entry to Murray's, which was nice of it. But we held it all together, gapped behind and made good time on those ahead.

Kissed the wall at The Cutting and tool too much kerb at Skyline, neither of which were penalised in QTT but it left me with 1sec down Conrod. So that dropped me back to the 2 guys behind, but they were mid-manouver coming up fast with massive over speed and I had no where to get out of the way... I apologised post-race, because I took a massive boost draft from one of them... Unfortunately I went off track in the process so he picked up a penalty and I got rocketed back up Conrod to where I would have been without penalty...

Took P9 down the home straight and into Hell Corner (which always reminds me a bit of Arnage) with a nice, clean, non-divebomby move on the inside. The pass was made pretty early doors as the Vantage is a beast. We both gave lots of space too. Very happy with that. Didn't save the replay though.

Cue two boring laps of Bathurst then keeping it out of the walls and making sure we finished where we were. P7+8 were fighting 5seconds or so up ahead so fingers crossed someone might gift me another. Sure enough I drove through the recently reset ghost of a Mustang at The Chase on L3 and finished P8.

Still not sure its for me. Maybe one more go and then its a livery week.

I tried Race A, got 2 9th places, and then a 2nd in a closely fought race with a Spaniard.
I can understand the chat about difficulties with others. Different drivers have different lines on basically every corner, so it's a minefield and a half. I am incapable of qualifying faster than a dead 2:04 even though I managed a 2:02.7 in a race and my quali optimum is 2:03.4, oh well. Slowwww compared to my usual standard.

Quick question for everyone. Do you participate in or skip the "warmup"? Does it have any effect on grip at the start of the race?
I always skip the warm-up, mostly because it's so short, takes a little while to load, and it reminds me of my early races on a worse connection when I would warm-up, usually I'd qualify pole then get dumped from the race at the end of the warm-up before actual start. Gaaah.

I always participate. Another practice of T1-T3 for the 101st time makes me more consistent than the guy who did it 100 times.

Also, it sometimes gives you fair warning of dirty players. One time I had pole and 2nd was driving dirty as hell during the warmup. Kept my eyes on him during the race and sure enough dude was all over the place and he ended up finishing 5th-6th.
