Anyone else getting more disconnects since the latest update?
I pretty much didn‘t have that at all before and in the last two days I had it 3 times within 10-15 races right after the matching when „waiting for other players“.
 
Only me doing race A? Miyabi Park is the best track to let the SW20 shine, on what she's the undisputed queen at - snap oversteer. I love the car, but it's awful to drive...both in GTS and IRL.
 
I’m not so sure the Lexus is ideal for the Nurburgring, I’m not exactly pushing it hard for fear of coming off but feels like it’s way off the pace. Might give the viper a go but need to make a livery first
 
I was excited to see the Nürburgring used for one of the dailies today, and I had a consecutive clean race string equaling my current best (3) with some excellent races with a French driver, I was hoping to make it 4 consecutive clean races, when this happened :P

Wild guess at why you got penalized: as soon as you rejoined the track, yellow flags popped out. Porsche spun in front of you and the game saw it as an overtake. Penalty system still needs to be fixed, though it will never be perfect when a computer has to judge such situations.

Previously if you made contact with someone and they went off you got a 10 second penalty. Not sure how he got away with that then but doubtless you'll have the new penalty fanboys at DR B and below telling us how wonderful it is that you got punished :lol:

I think you got a penalty because at the moment of contact you where turning right to stay on the road but also turned into him and the game counts that as an agressive move.
If you gave no steering input at the moment of contact I think you wouldnt get a penalty but that makes no sense because you want to stay on the road...
Just my guess.

The last time we had a Gr.3 at the Ring I got 2nd place in the Lexus and it felt good at that track. I hope they haven't done something to it.

Nothing happened. The selection isn’t my cup of tea. Blue Moon variants are a DR SR killer. I won’t race on the Nordschlief for 1 lap.

FIA races are really the only place where the matchmaking kinda works right now. Those lobbies are usually, for me, all S/S - A/S. In the dailies it’s usually 1-3 S/S, a few A/S, and a bunch of B/S - D/S filling the remaining spots which now ends up causing constant penalties from being barley touched by people who can’t control their car.

Anything can happen. More of these for the daily races PD, those Gr.B road cars are so much fun to drive.

Wait, why do you have a one-make with the Gr.B Impreza Road Car, while I have a one-make with the SW20 MR2? EU and NA servers have different one-make races?

It's been my experience that whenever there's even the slightest contact between two cars - 2 second penalty minimum for both drivers.
So I think in all likelihood it was just that :banghead:

The yellow flag theory is just as viable though, thanks! I hadn't even considered that

Yeah sorry, I should have pointed that out, it's from the daily race yesterday. I done some races since I started playing GTS, but getting exact the same time as some other player in the qualifying had never happened before, and probably never will again.

The wall has feelings too! This has always been the case though. Perhaps you get a penalty to make you more careful in rejoining the track, slow on, then merge with traffic. It also makes you more careful not to hit the wall again :)
 
Have to say I have really enjoyed the races today on Blue Moon Infield B. Two 2nd places, no wins though (I’m DRB SRS). It’s only a small thing, but liked the attention to detail on the bridge over the lake with the expansion joints that you can hear and feel the car going over!

Those variations of the Blue Moon raceway are just fantastic. I noticed the bridge expansion detail also, but its no Toyko Expressway techno beat tho. :)
 
This game can get lost, leading by 4 seconds on lap 16 of 17 and I get disconnected. 3000 DR points down the drain. That's the last straw, I'm sorry but there has to be some kind of logic which can figure out that I'm not rage quitting. Genuinely I don't feel like playing any more, I'm literally seething....

Would you make that same move (especially on that track) in the knowledge that Apex would also get a penalty as well if things went wrong? Forget blame and look at driving standards. He should never attempted that move and if he hadn't Apex wouldn't have a penalty

Had a shocking day today, dropped from SR S to SR A twice. Race C, ruined each time by people smashing into me on lap 1 and being gifted a penalty. Had a better set of Race A's until I met a mad Dane who kept fish tailing in front of me, in one attempt to avoid hitting him as he spun out I had to take to the grass (as I had someone on my backside) netting a shortcut penalty the he hit me as he spun anyway doubling the penalty. By the hairpin he slammed into me, off I went to A!

After grinding back up to S I was dropped back to A again thanks to other people side slamming me in Race A again.

In the end I did two Race C's back to back, set the fuel to 6 and just ran at the back.

Safe to say my DR has dropped from 17000 down to 13000
 
Just did Nurburgring and I'm wondering if different DR affects penalties within the same race. Had a few small nudges and instant time penalties, but one guy got a slide in front of me and I hit him pretty hard. No penalty.

I checked after the race and he was one of a couple DR.B drivers with the rest of us being A or S. He certainly wasn't afraid to ride my bumper through the twisties. Quite annoying.

Just thought I'd add to this - entered another race feeling salty and managed to get the win. For a grand total of 200 DR. There is something seriously borked with a system which just removed me of 3000 for a disconnect yet gave me 200 for winning the next race. 3000 DR at DR S is probably a good weeks worth of consistent results for me, lost in a split second in a race which I was winning!

Same if you make a mistake and put the weels on the grass, they will kindly serve you a nice penalty.

I can’t seriously believe they tested this update internally otherwise there are serious questions to raise about their testing team.
