Here is my final best lap for Race A of 1:27.503 which is currently good for top ten worldwide and first in the Americas region.

Nice. I noticed that your throttle inputs on the exit were a bit jabby. Is this you reacting to the understeer and backing off or have you always applied the throttle that way even before the last patch?

... though I do steel most of the stickers, I don’t have the computer skills to make my own stickers yet. Someday maybe. :)

I have a VERY limited number of my own decals. There's so much content already uploaded that doing a search for what you need usually yields a decal. Personally, it bugs me to see repeats of decals, especially the ones that exist in multitudes already.

Like, PLEASE, stop uploading Monster energy and Redbull Decals!!!

The nordschleife is one of my favourite track (i have experiences on the real one.. too ) so when i find the event interesting i return to the sport mode...

Your yellow and black Jaguar paint job is awesome. 👍

In case there will really be wet conditions/rain in the upcoming update here‘s an appetizer of how sports mode races on the Ring will be.

Heh... last year when the heavens opened it was the WRX setting the fastest lap times .

Crappy report time again. Used Corvette qualy time to start. P8/20. Raced with the Aston. Knocked off track. Dropped to P17. Rammed by the same person on nearly every corner for the first lap till he pitted. 0.5s penalty lap 1. 5.5s penalties lap 2. Aston a bit slippery but more controllable than some.Good on tyres. Good on fuel (1.3 laps fuel left after 1st lap). Race timed out. Finished P12. SR down 1, DR up 100. Still hanging on to DR/C.....by 140 pts. First positive pts this week.

Anybody know what network in America will show the N24 race this weekend?

Anybody know what network in America will show the N24 race this weekend?

Look for live streams. That's going to be your best bet. Not a lot of networks want to carry 24 endurance races.

I had the Ford livestream fro LeMans running off and on in my basement.

These guys look to be live streaming. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKgMzHVA7nsDsDEKKMc9bKA

As for the races today. Not my lucky day. A mistake in my first race left me finishing 3rd. A work call during my 2nd race totally blew my concentration and I threw away what would have been a 2nd place finish.

I will say this though, I really dislike the fuel maps for anything other than limiting top speed. The power decrease must affect torque because the cars handle differently. Not a fan.

3 x 5 sec wall penalty. That's what's missing from GT Sport, the walls are solid in the game, they have a nice cushion in RL. I hope we get to drive around the ring in the rain :)

Feeling like i have fairly good luck with the matching in this game.... another few races in Tokyo and another solid clean competitor, not sure about the rest of the racers as we pull away by mid lap 1 lol he even apologized to me when i bumped him cuse i miss judged my width goin for a gap off a turn where i should have passed him. He even ended up tappi g the wall and getting a penalty some how. Funny thing is we were both apologising for the incident after the race, and another guy compliments us for our attitude/behavior lol

Also, i still do not like race cars. Tried about 50 laps at suzuka in the lexus and got down to a 2.10.688 i think it was with a optimal of .233 but the lap is jittery and i barely ever feel in control.

Hello guys :) .
I'm an absolute beginner in the Sport Mode - I bought the game almost a year ago (and drive 21.000 miles...), but I have PS+ only a couple of days... :( . So it was a big suprise (I know I'm slow, my best lap was 2:13.xxx) when I won my first online race on my 6th race, Suzuka 4 laps, Gr4. :) . I saw screenshots from the game... so here is mine :) .

Today, 2 Race B
SR held the same despite an almost perfect race 1, only remember one orange SR down sector from corner defence. Race 2, SR 52>38 in one go and a DR loss of 1300 because a Genesis decided on the fast curve to clip me while they were on the outside (I'd held the inside line cleanly since the prior corner) and send himself into the sand. Unfair 3s penalty. Then on the last lap (I'd fallen to 12th from the penalty), same place, 2 Italians in TTs decided to gang up on me to steal my position. One was alongside and rammed me into the wall. Put himself into the wall. I got 3s penalty. Then at the chicane the other punted me off as I was turning in and got rewarded with an overall rise in SR and no penalty. This system of matching is utterly ridiculous. Looked at the one who pushed me on the straight's kp profile and they yoyo about in the low SR range and had slightly less DR than me.
Looks like the massively unfair downward spiral continues. I really really hate being trapped anything below SR A. It becomes impossible to finish a race without major incident.

Hello, welcome, congratulations!

2.13.XXX isn't slow. Granted it isn't alien. But its not slow. My first races in Sport Mode were Suzuka Gr.4 when it last came around. I only managed a 16.6xx then. And 100+ races in my highest finish is still 3rd step on the podium!

You'll only get better/quicker. And these guys on here will help! Community encouragement goes a long way.

 Can't wait. They can put ice on the track for all I care. Looks like fun to me. I'm in. 👍

I actually like Nurb 24 in the rain (in the previous iterations).

Hopefully they add rain events to the weekly races or we'll never see in in action (because, as with GT5 and GT6) lobbies will rarely have it on, not that I venture into lobbies much any more.

If rain is added to all tracks, I can't wait to die drive on rainy N24. I think that will make me commit sudoku a much better driver! :D

Oh, it's not that bad. Drive around there on Sport Soft tires. The grip levels shouldn't be much different

Both, throttle input on controller is harder to get precise and accounting for understeer to avoid hitting walls.

Yeah, I.... I just can't do that....

I can't even do it with RHs. I don't know what planet the rest of you are on but my fastest lap is 9minutes + a lot. I gave up.

Went back to Suzuka. Got down to 12.2xx thank you very much.

Of course my opt is now an 11.9xxx...

Hey @Pigems, I finally got it done. At least I feel like it's done, because I ran out of ideas. This is what I've been doing the last couple of days, instead of the daily races. 287 decals, and an embarrassing number of hours. I found this old gem rotting in my grandpa's barn. :) I shared it in the game, in case anybody would like to use it. 👍 There are a ton of small details that you can't see in these photos.

Then I took it out to the track to try it out, because ya know corrosion makes it lighter (I realize it's got a fiberglass body, but this livery requires a suspension of disbelief).

If you like driving the Shelby GT350, you'll like this Vette. Really, really fun to drive!

That’s bloody wicked man!! Amazing job!! I’ve got a few decals that might go well with it too if you ever add to it. They say something like “Rust, natural weight reduction” or something like that lol. Very well done Man!!

I tried to make a rusty beetle one time but got frustrated and gave up pretty quickly.

Did a serviceable quali lap for Race B – 2:08.802. Finally managed to nail Spoon and 130R. There’s a little bit more time to be found in the first sector (didn’t do a PB on my fastest lap by ~0.070s), but I’m quite happy with my effort anyways.

Edit: That lap got me a P12 on the grid for a lobby exclusively consisting of A/S & A+/S drivers. Probably the highest-rated lobby I’ve ever been a part of. I managed to keep up quite well, kept my position and had a great fight with P11 (with whom I swapped positions due to a penalty, but he got me back a lap later without much resistance from me) & P13 respectively. It was a really nice, clean race and one I enjoyed immensely.

Meanwhile, my time for Race C is down to 8:19.493. A bit less happy with that, to me it feels like the GR Supra is genuinely uncomfortable on the GP part of the track. So much understeer, which seems to completely disappear around the actual Nordschleife. I haven’t checked the replays, but I would hazard a guess that I’m probably losing a disproportional amount of time there.

Suzuka is infuriating!!!

Get the esses right? Cock up Spoon, and Casio. Get the esses wrong? Nail Spoon, and Casio.

2:09.5xx is there. I can smell it. I'm going for a coffee/smoke before I throw my nice new cleaver through the TV.
If you’re using the Lexus, I’d recommend the following gears through the esses, together with the following general advice:
First left: 4th
First right: 3rd
Upshift on the short straight bit, keep 4th through the second left, try and hug the apex a little bit
Second right: 3rd, again hug the apex, try to keep to the inside, which then becomes the outside for the final uphill left.
Lift slightly immediately before turning in, try going for a bit of a late apex and then fire away. That can get a bit hairy with the Amazing Suction Kerb and the gravel trap on the outside, but it’s a very drivable solution.

I don’t know whether it’s actually the fastest possible way to get through there, but it is one that has produced consistently good results for me.

Well, first off, I've raced on the ring more than any other track over the past (almost) decade. I think I have some embarrassingly high amount of kilometers logged on it. Put it this way, when I watch real life Nurb videos, I know every corner that's coming next. I feel like if I ever got the chance to go to the real track, I'd know my way around for the most part.

I lost the taste for racing soft lobbies a long time ago. So, I would say, put in more time on it. Do time trials there. IMHO, it's the best place to do time trials.

As always, I recommend cones, markers, etc. They do help you look where you are supposed to to get around the track. Also, manual transmission helps. A good brake balance helps. Cars that are easier to drive helps. But it's all just time.

Also, the META cars aren't always META for everyone. Find what you're comfortable with.

on a related note...

Following my own advice of trying to qualify as close to the front as I can, I just bettered my Q time to 8:15.56. I threw away a second or two in the back section so I will be chasing an 8:14.XXX

That sounds nasty ;)

Yesterday was a good day of racing at Suzuka. I probably did 11 or 12 races intermittently throughout the day. My time of 2:08.6 started me in the top 3 almost every time with a couple poles. Got 5 wins, 4 podiums, and a few bad ones where I either got punted or binned it myself. Looking forward to getting back out there later this week, but I might have to wait until Saturday. I was thinking of doing some no qualy races on my other account to see if I can get some good replays out of it.

The penalty system is so broken.

Coming round a corner @ Nord, there’s an unavoidable cone which launches me off the track and into the barriers. Then GTS decides to give me a 5 second penalty, to add insult to injury.

And given where the final penalty zone is, that’s utterly race destroying.

Went from 4th to 17th. WTAF.
