Have you always been able to do this in a lobby?

Also, you can get way more air offline then you can online for some reason, waaay more. But the car stays way more stable in the air online and almost always lands on its wheels vs offline the car almost always flips or rolls backwards.

I don't know whether other cars are affected, as I've only used the 908.

Nobody else has mentioned it here, so I suspect not.
I've been using the 908 for Race C and lost 2 races since the patch thanks to this. I guess PD is trying to push everyone to the TS050 :grumpy:
Would've been nice if they had mentioned it in the patch notes.

Yes. We spent an evening playing Hide and Seek there. There's a couple of channels of tyre walls you can scoot down, plenty of signs to hide behind and at least one spot you can go to where you aren't shown on the minimap any more...

Thanks for the info, that sounds like fun! GoodWood would be great for that too with all the parked airplanes and tall grass to hide in/behind. :)

I guess I'll try Tsukabe to see what SR you get there. I got disconnected while matchmaking for the 7:30 daily C, only one I have time for this morning :banghead: Never ever fix that bug PD. I'm down to 81 from the lag fest race last night where I kept getting SR Down from laggy cars hitting me off road and a 2 sec penalty from a 1 bar connection zipping through me several times. I wonder what PD has changed about the shortcut penalties, it's the damn contact penalties that needed work.

Yep, same here, +10 SR for a clean race on Tsukaba, that's a lot for race A. Great now SR.S will have even more bad drivers. Shortcut seems the same, saw someone skipping a corner, 0.5 sec. Contact the same, saw someone attempting a barge pass, made contact and took all wheels over the inside line, other car that was driving correctly got 2 sec penalty.

Race A can be good if you race the right people. But it far too easy for Senna inspired racers to nudge you off apex , unsettling and slowing your car, to make the pass and giving you SR down.

Have to say this person, Bia_pinkgirl, did the same to me, but let off after the past to regain my position on the straight. Respect for that driver.

Post race one of the other drivers asked why she slowed and she said "I hit Canada"
She's up to #4 now. Fast drivers dont need to or take pride in a pass like that. They know it's cheap.

Any lower skill driver can make a pass this way. Huge issue with the penalty system.

Rampage! Yes!!! Invi smaaaash!. I was DR/C... for all of 5 days . Green Hell took it's toll on both DR and SR :yuck:.

And so the Karnival of Kaos kontinues at the Circus de la Sarthe. *Finaly* managed to beat the qualy time I set with the Jag on Monday. Victim #4 this week.. iiiiit's a Nissan, and that's my caaaar! Yes, I plugged away with the dado, and that got me P12/17 as one of 4 DR/Ds. The rest were Bs with the odd A thrown in ... meat for the grinder, mwahahaha! A special shout out to @TurboTacho. He was doing a @Sven Jurgens starting at P17. I think they were struggling to fill the grid.. SR/S-B and even then not the full 20 .

Race starts even more awkwardly than usual, mid chicane. That buys me a second of breathing space at Dunlop from the guy behind me. It didn't take long for me to get hit from behind. Not sure if it's just me or the tyres warming up but the first two laps I had several moments where I understeered my way off the track, whilst doing a snails pace... it just would not turn :banghead:. I dropped back to P17 and then slowly went about staying on the tarmac and not revving the guts outta the engine. When I crossed the line to start the final lap I had 1.3 laps worth of fuel left. I had a 30s gap to the guy behind me, which by this stage was P15. Kudos to him and the guys behind him who stuck out the race to the end .

I finished P14. @TurboTacho finished.... ahead of me. Where exactly is his tale to tell ;).

SR up 4, DR dropped about 250. Tomorrow on to the Porsche for my final race of the week. Need to rest my hands for Monday's 2.5h :scared:. Another day above DR 1 :O.
Hey! Sorry I wasn't able to identify you in the lobby though your name was really familiar. But it was an enjoyable race there, despite my last minute entry and not being able to set a hot lap for qualifying time. I was pretty surprised when the grid was filled with a wide gap of SRs.

The start at the back of the grid was pretty hellish, because I had a few cars spinning right in front of me and I had to slow down to avoid colliding their ghosts (you know it best when the ghosts decide to go against your wish). But eventually overtook my way up the midfield through the long straights.

I've noticed your pace was much more consistent compared to me in the last couple of laps, while I had to constantly manage fuel and keep my eyes around because of all the pushing and drafting.
Ended up on P9 that night, after a tough fight with the classic Prototypes.

Sadly I lost a point in SR, partly due to the incident along the straight where someone hit me in the rear in lap 2, and another in lap 4 which led to a "chain draft bumping". But I was impressed how the TS030 felt around the circuit, neutral and ready to rev despite on a smaller hybrid battery and charges only through braking. Ultimately I was one of the two lucky racers that night without a time penalty (the other guy was the winner I think...) like finally.

Why does the owner of this thread keep on changing? I've seen three different users in the last 2 weeks having "ownership" of the thread. Can someone explain to me why this is? I've never seen it with any other thread...

@Famine removes older posts each week so the thread doesn’t get to long and hard to sift through. So when the older posts are removed it leaves a new 1st Post/Owner of the thread. :)

Stuntnan 3 is looking good.

I finally did race A, for the first time today. I did it twice. First time, at 89 SR I was on the pole and messed up, but finished 3rd in a fun race, where the top 2 and me all finished within a half a second. After that, I was at 99 and started 4th, right behind my buddy, BenRod. I had nothing for him or the two A+ guys in front of him. I ended up 4th. One dude shoved me out of the way in turn 2, and I accidentally bumped him off the track at turn 5. It really was accidental, but I didn't feel too bad about it.

I didn't see your pal, but I was looking.

I also did 3 LeMans races. In all three, I had good battles with MKRange-420, who used to be Mike-mkrange2000. Another good guy. In the first race, he bumped me in one of the turns (not on purpose) and went by. He said he was sorry after the race, and I told him no problem. Next race, I accidentally bumped him, then slowed to let him have his spot back. I re-passed him, but between the final chicane and the finish line we both slowed to concede to each other and lost a couple of spots in doing so.

Good racing. 👍

I think I know my weakness. This week is crippling to me. I tried a Race C, knowing it would be terrible. It was. Lost DR & SR. Tried a couple of Race Bs. Lost enough SR & DR that I dropped a letter in each (now D/C). :banghead: I will just avoid Interlagos & La Sarthe permanently.

FINALLY had a contact-free Race C and of course I ruined the clean race award by cutting the track in Dunlop... didn't even save any time as it caused me to be wide on the exit. Race lobby was SR S from pole to backmarkers and EVERYONE finished with a penalty... can we please relax the track limits at La Sarthe a tiny bit, Polyphony?

Sven, I reckon you should use the rear view for racing - because IMO it is much easier too see the traffic around oneself.

In the money earning Pre-1971 race at La Sarthe/Le Mans, I find it difficult to get the bonus points using inside the car views - but with the from the rear view, I find it much easier to know what the traffic is doing. However I have never been able to understand the radar - if I started to look at the radar dial, I reckon I'd slow down a fair bit.

I wish PD for the bumper cam view, would squash the front view of the screen, and put in an artificial windscreen front and left pillar, and then have 1/6th of the screen for the right side sideways view including a side mirror, and on the left, another 1/6th of the screen on the left side view and a mirror. That way I'd get the sensation of speed which I love with the front bumper cam view, and also, I would see a bit of the traffic.

I think for most races I need to widen my vision so I think my next step forwards is going to be to devote all my driving to the rear view. I am not as fast using it but in time I should be. And for racing in the crash favoured style that PD rewards, the rear view looks mandatory or close racing.

Heh, one of those ghosts would have been me :O.

I've noticed your pace was much more consistent compared to me in the last couple of laps, while I had to constantly manage fuel and keep my eyes around because of all the pushing and drafting.

Part of that was because the last two laps had people pitting, I was able to have a gap behind me so I could just focus on staying on track. The R92CP is reasonably easy to short shift, and it's a bit of a missile on the straits. I was a bit surprised to see you finish with a red SR, but P17 to P9 is a pretty good effort :gtpflag:.

What Group C car is best on fuel?

I found of the four I've driven this week, the Nissan was the best. I had 1.3 laps of fuel left when I started the last lap. @Sven Jurgens I think seemed to think the Porsche was best. I'll find out tonight .

Hahaha I saw the gap opening up in the back after midpoint. And yeah, the pitters were pretty heavy on fuel consumption, I saw a few of them almost running dry at end of lap 3. Your R92CP really had potential for speed, could tell via the intervals. I could feel it when your race was jeopardised by all the missiles while you're trying to overtake them.

I got a red SR because of the contact I had in lap 1 turning into the straights and lap 2 draft bumping from others, eventually I lost 1 SR compared to the day before. Probably due to others hitting my car while I was on the clean side.

But well, just gonna aim for better SR tonight then!

💡 At some point, we're gonna have to have a game of tag. :D
Count me in. :dopey:

But why isn't it done with other threads?
This one gets an article on the front page every week.

Posting up a brand new article that already has 37,000 comments looks insane. I could start a new thread with the article each week, but that'd break it for anyone who's using forum tools to watch this thread - or anyone who has it bookmarked, or just types in "daily r" to their browser to come here.

By splitting the oldest posts to a dedicated Archive thread (and again, to preserve the bookmarks/watches, I had to manually split the earlier posts rather than just split the newest week's worth into a new thread; that took a while) and keeping just the last week's races we can keep everyone's links intact, keep the flow of conversation from one week to the next and have a still large but not ridiculous comment count on the new article each week.

It definitely used to work. :D

I’m not sure if it still works after the last update, only one way to find out though.

I piled 5 cones together on Brands Hatch one time(yeah, it took like 20 minutes to collect and organize them all lol), only to have the experiment fail miserably, I got zero air off of it.

Oh it still works!

I went a bit wide on Tetre Rouge during qualifying and got absolutely launched by the cone on the outside. It was almost Peter Dumbreck-esque

I swear the Aston was nerferd in the update, I absolutely eat porsches on the two straights at Interlagos but not yesterday, also really struggled to get into the 33's whereas day before i ran consistent mid 33's.
