Well this was pretty bad. I accidentally pressed enter race in race B and didn't realize until matchmaking started... fair enough, my 31.441 Q time put me in 2nd place. The race consisted of watching the alien in 1st pull away. I finished 2nd and my DR peaked at 55346. Then it all went downhill.

I wanted a win, next race I started on pole. I overshot turn 4, made contact with P2 who had 2 wheels on the astroturf and he went off. 5 second penalty for me, down to 10th place, more mistakes, down to last and ragequit. -2000 DR, -24 SR.

This was followed by a 4th place, a win and a 3rd place (which really should have been a win but I'm a moron). I also lost DR for finishing third.

I'm down from 54884/99 to 53871/91. Time for that 2nd account...

Sven, I reckon you should use the rear view for racing - because IMO it is much easier too see the traffic around oneself.

In the money earning Pre-1971 race at La Sarthe/Le Mans, I find it difficult to get the bonus points using inside the car views - but with the from the rear view, I find it much easier to know what the traffic is doing. However I have never been able to understand the radar - if I started to look at the radar dial, I reckon I'd slow down a fair bit.

I wish PD for the bumper cam view, would squash the front view of the screen, and put in an artificial windscreen front and left pillar, and then have 1/6th of the screen for the right side sideways view including a side mirror, and on the left, another 1/6th of the screen on the left side view and a mirror. That way I'd get the sensation of speed which I love with the front bumper cam view, and also, I would see a bit of the traffic.

I think for most races I need to widen my vision so I think my next step forwards is going to be to devote all my driving to the rear view. I am not as fast using it but in time I should be. And for racing in the crash favoured style that PD rewards, the rear view looks mandatory or close racing.

Nah bumper cam all the way, best sense of speed, easier to make sure I have the correct speed everywhere. I hardly need the radar this week as passes in GR.1 tend to be pretty fast and it's not hard to keep a mental picture of where the other cars are. I have the fuel map up after lap 1, mirror is enough to keep track. The radar is useful when there is a lot of traffic, keep your triangle equidistant from all the other triangles.

I only short shift. It takes too many steps to go between fuel map and radar, and I have my hands full just trying to keep on the track and avoiding other cars to screw around with FM too .

962C has the best fuel mileage, I can wait to shift from 3rd until the bar flashes, then past halfway for the other gears and easily make it. My best lap in the 962C is down to 3:27.8, best I could do in the R92CP was 3:31.0. No contest.

Having that extra juice to accelerate a bit better helps to get into draft range earlier, it adds up while passing cars from the back. Btw I only go down to 2nd in Mulsanne, Arnage and the final chicane. Rest in 3rd.

Lived through the shuddering screen for some sr improvement;
Genesis corner entry handling feels worse, but perhaps it's because of my violently juddering brakes. Didn't qualify, just came in to cruise around but got a good vibe about the lobby as multiple guys were saying they were taking it easy for sr. So I didn't use the slipstream pass into t1 but ended up passing a couple on track I suppose just due to outright pace, and a couple more who were in the wall.

Felt brave after that so rotary scream at Le Mans. Started P15 with my previous Jaguar lap and stuck TC on 2 for an easy cruise. I pretty much equalled my q lap while waiting for the lobby so no pace pressure. Short shifted lots for the no stop, everything clean and tidy for me dodging the carnage at t1.

Back into solid B territory but I'm going to stick to morning/early afternoon racing until I get my Kaz's Good Manners badge back as the crowd at those times seems to be more sensible.

I'd prefer it to actually show when someone has a bumper inside. Too many times I've been burned because they did and the radar makes it look like they are a half car back. It's pretty terrible.

4 or 5 races this morning, and again good matching for me. It probably helps starting pole or second every race :D mostly was racing for s3cond today though as uncletwentythree or whatever decided to show up. Was still clean but hard racing for the podium though.

Had one race where i completly blew the fist turn and ended up spun around. I felt like such a turd for messing up everyones race by blowing t1 in front or the pack. Got back up to 5 from last in a full room (12?) But drove a bit more aggressive than i usually do. I have learned much about how and when to be assertive but i don't like being agressive, it's just not my style. Anyway, more good times in sport mode for me today. Starting to think next week will be something that completely destroys all my progress this week, ratings wise and confidence wise :nervous::lol:

Hope to get another race or two in before work but i got a lot of tanks to wash today so i am going in early

Happy friday folks:cheers::gtpflag:

I find the radar to be pretty good, I do wish the cars were shown as rectangles instead of triangles though. But I use bumper cam so it’s right in the middle of the screen for me, I don’t know how people can use it when it’s off to the far right with the other views, I can’t look that far from the center of the screen without it messing up my concentration most times. :)

Next week's Daily Race C will likely be Group 4 at Sardegna, so I've decided to create a track guide for you guys :)
A few people have asked me to do some daily race guides and livestreams on YouTube, so I thought why not.
The track is one of my favourites in the franchise.

I think I know my weakness. This week is crippling to me. I tried a Race C, knowing it would be terrible. It was. Lost DR & SR. Tried a couple of Race Bs. Lost enough SR & DR that I dropped a letter in each (now D/C). :banghead: I will just avoid Interlagos & La Sarthe permanently.
Never gonna get good that way Player! At this point what do you have to lose?

Next week's races are up
A: N200 - Goodwood - 5 laps - Sports Hard
B: Gr.3 - Suzuka - 4 laps - Racing Hard
C: Gr.X One Make - Sardegna A - 13 laps - Racing Soft, Medium and Hard - x3 fuel, x12 tyre wear

Best get saving 3 million for the X2019 Competition

Bingo! The best way to improve is by spending the majority of your practice time working on the weakest parts of your driving. Eventually you’ll turn those weaknesses into strengths. :)

Can't drive in the center of the Goodweed track. :grumpy: Just tried it. I'm gonna try Streets of Willow Springs and Horse Thief Mile. 👍

Boooooo-Urns!!

You can drive all over the short Willow courses, even offline. There’s some great jumps on the Horse Thief Mile!

Race A is gonna be fun too, I hope it’s a good car. :)

Yeah the cars not being represented very well on the screen is the issue.

Looks like I'm taking the week off.

That goodwood race better have an appropriate car.... gotta check the possibilities

Also gonna need that new ghost feature for sure as i have yet to do a single lap there nor the track guide stuff for it.... lol

Ah ok, I get what you mean now and I agree. The point of the triangle isn’t showing the true front corners of the car on the radar so it can throw off perception of where others cars really are for sure. It does take some getting used to, but it is a great tool once you get comfortable with it. But there should be IMO an outline of a car shape around the triangle at least, that way it still shows direction of the car, but would also show the 4 corners of it as well. :)

Welcome to the circus. I'm a killer clown. Welcome to the circus. Hey gather round. Yes folks, final night at that French freak show, la Sarthe. Went in with Porsche power and beat my qualy time by a second, *with* a trip to the sand on the exit of the final chicane . Optimum was down another 2s from that . I started P12/20, one of 5 DR/Ds. The rest of the grid was As and Bs. I changed my pre race comment on Tuesday to "WARNING: Group C car. I brake early". I don't think anyone was paying attention :banghead:.

Like last night it was a mid chicane start and off I went. Managed two laps with no track violation penalties, but I did get knocked off, and PD has a new penalty to add to the "it's your fault for getting rear ended" penalty. I got 3s for getting rear ended well after corner exit under full throttle! There was more traffic to contend with this race. People kept diving up the inside with not even a tyre width between me and the inside kerb, pushing me aside in the process and an SR down. I got rammed up the rear so many times I need Anusol :nervous:. I did however manage to make up some places just by being consistent and staying on the track. @Sven Jurgens was right about the fuel economy. I had so much fuel left for the final lap I was able to just let er rip. It was the first race all week that I actually finished by crossing the finish line .

One of the dive bombers was a fellow Australian. I think maybe he was just a bit too keen and couln't cope with my earlier braking points. He spun out at one stage. I apologised at the end of the race. His reply was to thank me for the race . I finished behind him, P10.

SR dropped by 6, DR went up by 600. No more racing for me till Monday, where I will see whoever turns up for @Mistah_MCA's 2.5h nurb . Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

W-T-F. 6 new track layouts just released, yet we're getting Suzuka twice in 3 weeks. This game can be infuriating sometimes.

Yeah, there's some nice steep terrain at Horse Thief Mile. Streets of Willow isn't very good.

Yup, between T1 and T2 going up the hill on the right there is a sweet jump. Back right up to the boarder of the track to get the best run off and you can get huge air! :)

The new Clio is N200 but that doesn't seem appropriate so maybe something else. While Suzuka is one of PD's favourites that looks like a good week to me. Excited to use the new X2019 (assuming it's that).

@Pigems Tag, your it. 1.11.835 with an optimal of .773 for tsukuba. doing a couple more laps before i sing off but i think thats about my best..... for now :p

Personal boast: I can't believe i am nearly at 40k dr. I remember trying to stay above 25 for the longest time.... yay me i guess lol

First race of the day after the update. The 908 really has been nerfed fuel wise, as other people have said here. Absolutely not OP anymore, as you have to save a lot more fuel than before. Also, the BoP was adjusted to 91 % power, before it was 90% (630 hp to 637 hp). It seems that the Toyotas are the way to go now.

I was in the race with you on Wednesday night. It was the last race before the update/maintenance. You completely destroyed everyone, and finished the race in 17:11, with a fastest lap of 3:24. Those numbers stuck in my head because I was amazed. Also, it made me think that I shouldn't bother with that race anymore, because I can't come remotely close. Hearing that the 908 is now burning more fuel, gave me hope again. 👍

Even if you have to slow down a bit, I'm pretty sure you'll still dominate.

Hey I love Suzuka ,probably my best track .I also love pumpkin pie ,but you don't see me eating it every week :banghead:
Feel the same. I love Suzuka too (& Fuji, Tsukuba) and still I am annoyed at how often they come up. Feel real bad for those who don't like it. Hard to see it as anything other than a cruel joke.

PD, if you were an American company and you had multiple track locations and only offered the ones located in the US every week...... yeah that's you right now. Stop being such a dick.

Thank you very much sir! The 908 is my most used car in the game and La Sathe one of the tracks I drive the most, so I'm pretty confident on getting consistent laps (and oh boy have I driven this track+car combo). The race I did today with the 908 had a total time of 17:20s and the next one was 17:20 with the TS050, so I guess it's more balanced now. I say balanced because I'm always a bit disappointed when they nerf a car instead of giving others a better chance do compete by tweaking the BoP or fuel consumption. As @Sven Jurgens has said, for example, the group C cars have their advantage on the straights completely nullified by having to short shift so much.

I'm using the Toyota hybrid car is there some way to use the hybrid power only when I want to or is it automatic?

I didn't see any change ? Lowered my time to 1:31.294 this morning and i dont read anything about physics in the update report ?

Something definitely changed. 100%. The moment I fired it up I felt it. I think, once acclimated, it doesn't negatively affect the experience, but it's definitely different. I am definitely not having to feather the throttle as much and I am finding less sliding around, if you get entry and exit right.

Before, even if you got it right, you would slide.

I notice it most at corner 4 of Interlagos, and the final turn before the back straight. At Turn 4, you can go over the curb without being pitched out to the edge of the track. Same with the last corner. Touching the curbing or being a little aggressive on the throttle isn't as punishing.
