A guy lagged badly,his car was bouncing in the countdown. Fearing hitting him,i just braked. Boom got rammed to grass. 2nd to 16th plus 3 secs pen.

Guy intentionally blocked me from passing him, no pen for him. I totally lost and did the same. 10sec pen.

Panorama pit is horrendous when a car is behind you. Got hit all the time plus a pen plus it spaws on the main straight so cant pit also.
 
A few weeks back, I never thought I'll stop with daily races all together. I was totally addicted to it!
But, after many awful race variants, game crashes and a new crappy SR system, sport mode is dead to me now. :guilty:

I hope PD finally gets their shet together and work with player feedback and communicate more with us! Otherwise, the game
will end up right against the wall. :banghead:

If you are a good driver, you will surely find a way. Ratio of good clean races is much better than bad ones.

If you are leaving coz of update then well you aren't that clean after all . Higher SR level already know the limits now and nobody risks a bad pass now.
 
Pointless races today. Tokyo circuit in the MR2, and Monza in a woefully bad Aston Martin. QUIT

If you are leaving coz of update then well you aren't that clean after all . Higher SR level already know the limits now and nobody risks a bad pass now.

I don't think you understood what grinds my gears in sport mode.
Its not that the races are unfair, or other guys, or even me! Its the system! (Also I think I'm a pretty fair driver. Its just annoying to get punished for nothing!)

And I'm not leaving GTS, I'm just leaving sport mode until PD finds a proper system that works for online racing. Right now, its the worst it has ever been IMO.
I'm still doing Lobby races and from time to time I'm sure I'll do one or two sport mode races again. But for now, I lay back a bit and look how it turns out in a few weeks. Its just too frustrating to race under the new algorithm and the boring one-make races.
Games are supposed to be fun! And when a game frustrates me more than I have fun with it, I keep my distance. Easy as that ;)

In this Miyabi race immediately at the end of turn 1 on the first lap he pushed a Spanish driver out (intentionally going very wide at the exit), then he was in the lead and I was second, he collected a penalty through the chicane at the end of lap 1, then approaching turn 1 on the second lap on the inside he tried to reduce the penalty without giving a warning (no warning lights) with me ~0.2s behind him - of course I bumped into him....
Then finally I overtook in the hairpin in lap 2 (tough but rather fairly, I missed the apex by maybe 1m, but of course I am not making any prisoners with that guy anymore...), so then out of the hairpin my car was ~75% ahead and of course he just had to insist on staying inside in the chicane and not drop back - well I sure as hell didn't give him any space or drop back, so we both crashed...
 
Man, I wasn’t expecting the MR-2 for the 5th day in a row. I’m not complaining, though. It’s usually a 3-day rotation for Race A One Makes, isn’t it?

I wish that was the case. I've just gone from SR:99 (the first time that stat has dropped in a long time) to 85 in one race at Bathurst - just for being tapped by one driver over and over again :'( He went from an AS to an AC in that race, but it didn't stop my SR score dropping too - now I'm apprehensive about doing another race.

Just try again. You can always build your score back up. I swear, people get way too caught up in their DR/SR to the point that they won’t play Sport Mode. Those things are important, but they shouldn’t deter you from playing the game.
 
Check this guys driving. Holy Smokes. He was lightning fast. The time he makes up my god. Anyone knows what settings he is using? Barring settings the way he is controlling the car is astonishing driving.

Happened to me many times but there were races where it was all clean as well. I am fluctuating SR S A B since 2 days. In time the field will be sorted. Keep going

The A one make cars used to switch on Monday and Friday. Maybe this week is different because of the update.

Probably motion controller with +1 or +2 brake bias, I see it slide around corners a little.

If you go back to the replay, and when at that point, press back (circle button), you can see the exact inputs at the bottom of the screen, as well as what assists are used. You'll also probably be able to figure out if the driver is using a wheel or a controller as it is usually obvious.

Definitely a fun little car to drive. Didn’t like it too much in Nürburgring GP, but the other tracks it was paired up with have been pretty good.

Hoping for the Mk3 Supra next.

If it's any help, you should have a pretty easy race at the front at 85 SR. Likely starting on pole or 2nd/3rd

You were right:) Gave it another shot and had a clean win from P2 - I still think I'm going to leave it for today though, don't need the stress!

I had that happen as well in one race on Nurb24 yesterday, drop to 83 in one race from one car intentionally ramming me 5 times. He quit the race before the end when he couldn't catch me anymore, having to serve more penalties I guess. Never saw him again, must have been dropped further down the SR ladder as well.

The next two races I got easy races at 83 and 88 SR (max +5 for B yesterday), both clean race bonus, then back with the faster crowd without issues. I didn't take long to be at 99 again. Don't let one bad experience stop you. At least the bad drivers are actually punished now.

I am DRB and SRS so I am no muppet at this game. Top 10% according to Kudos.I've done one race at Mt Panorama today and finished 5th. So how come I am about 8 seconds off the top time at Mount Panorama? I ve watched the top time and am none the wiser. The top lap time was very neat, but I couldn’t see anything radically different to what I am doing.

Yup I have the same problem, it's all about the race line, through the mountains it's pretty difficult to get the right race line, it's almost different for me everytime even though I do the same thing each time. But that's what the hotlapping in time trial is for, just like mastering full throttle through the bus stop at Dragon Tail.

It's a bit different for me in GTS than RaceRoom, rFactor, AC, or PCars, I can fly through Bathurst in those other games, but in GTS it's the race hard tires that changes everything.

Most of that will be just about being brave on the top section and barely lifting off through most of the sweepers and getting your brakes and line right through the esses into the Dipper. The last 1-2 seconds is all about minimising wheelspin, especially going onto the long straights.

^^ Most people carry too much speed into Bentley Elbow (formerly Forest Elbow) and pay the price all the way down conrod straight - but there's not 8 seconds there.

How well do you know the track? If you spend a day lapping it I'm sure you'll close the deficit.
 
I accept that I'm not a very good driver but, when I'm pushing a podium finish and accrue 10 seconds in penalties from getting bumped and smacked off the track on Race B? It makes the game so not enjoyable. I'm trying my best to raise my DR while maintaining an S SR and I've been able to finish ahead of where I need to be in order to gain DR but, I could be doing so much better if this penalty system would just get it right.

I'm trying my best to accept it and race to it's tendencies but, I'm finding more and more that those who don't run a clean race are benefiting more than those that do. Taking bad lines and dive bombing seems to win the race now. It's becoming a game of "How reckless can I truly be?"
 
wow usa region ..how come you guys race like that ?

I created an account in USA region and signed a contract for free gt3. I did few gt3 races at Bathurst and always top 5. But the racecraft and incidents is more like war zone rather than racing incidents.

I saw a guy divebombed the leader at T2. Hard tap at end of conrod straights and leader suddenly braked in the middle of the straight ( i was tailgating him at 1-2secs ..managed to avoid)

But that is dirty. How come you can enjoy GTS at DR A/B ?
 
The XP payouts for daily races are just laughable. Setting pole and fastest lap while winning the race gives me 1000 xp. Im level 41, so I did some quick math and I would have to do that approximately 1850 times to reach level 50. Just absurd that you can get 8,000+ xp for driving that stupid X-Bow around Blue Moon in just 15 minutes but winning an actual online ranked race against real people on Bathurst gives me less than 1/8th of that. If they upped the payouts across the board in Sport Mode (substantially) I guarantee you would see an influx in participation.

hi .. i'm a mid 2:02, close enough that i think i can give a short answer. you have to take a lot of speed through the downhill section before the last straight without letting the car slide out at all (brake bias forward will help you here) and get a good exit from the corner with the blue barrier, this is crucial because the straight is so long
