Once I'd got a handle on the steering sensitivity. Had a big propensity for oversteer for the first 5-6 laps.

Yeh, particularly when you throttle out of the corners. I found using higher gears helps.

Win count doesn't mean much of anything since any chance of winning heavily depends on matchmaking. SR, time of day, day of the week, general interest in a track, other events at the time, all play a far bigger role than actually being good.

Dood, you forgot phases of the moon :sly:.

What your do this week is your own business but it is a Willow Springs week and I do expect to see some videos and photos of some top tier jumps.

I discovered during @Pigems Lobby Big Willow also has many interesting dirt trials to explore if you get bored of the tarmac :p

I can’t wait to Chase the A(+)ce tonight!! This week is gonna be intense!! I haven’t raced for rating in a looooong time!!

@sturk0167 So there is more grip in Q today? I noticed less grip in the lobby yesterday compared to the offline TT. What ya down to now?
I don't think there's more grip, but it seems way easier. I got the Lambo down to 17.5, and just did 17.3 in the Jag. I think the gear ratios may be different. Sounds weird, but as you know I've only been doing laps at Willow with A/T. In turn 2 it is definitely not down-shifting as soon as it has been in practice for the last few days. Can't explain it, but it's just easier to go fast. I think you'll be happy with the difference, whatever it is. :)

It’s not easy at 30-40k at 99 sr.
I'm at 68. 👍

Spent most of the past week in Los Santos as i didn't enjoy the "swift" around the ring as much as i thought i would. Not sure if i will be on much tis week either tbh, will try my hand at willow to see if i can hang with the boys, but i just dont have the pace in race cars that i do in road cars. I do like that track though.

Was an entertaining read getting cought up this morning. No point in adding my opinion as it just repeats what others are saying. Not sure how to link my stuff to show, but i am pretty proud of my stats, which are 100% legit and untainted. I think wins are actually pretty hard to get, and i guess that means i suck cuse i am on the muricas server...

Agreed. I don't understand why anyone would give a flying 🤬 what somebody else's stats are.

I wasn't out to criticise everyone who isn't in EMEA, and I apologise if I came across as "l33t"

Someone seemed to only want to brag about how awesome they are and I wanted to point out if they compare themselves globally, it paints a different picture.

EMEA tends to be the most competitive purely because of the numbers. That doesn't make anyone better or worse than anyone else. There are aliens on every server and there are a huge amount of people around the globe I'd be privileged to race against, many of them regulars in this thread.

:gtpflag:

I know where I sit in the global pecking order and I'm completely happy with it. There a huge number who are way better than me who I always try and learn from.

Back on topic, the meta for Race B seems to be the Toyota 86. I gave it a go and managed a 17.6 so far.

@watto79 i actually am in agreement with you, my slight jab was meant twords the guy who brought up win count as if it mattered in the first place. I care so little i wont even go back and see what thier name was.

On point, about to tey my first laps for willow this week. Not sure how this will go, but i am up for the challenge (the A+ challenge that is) as long as i am not waaaayyyyyy off pace. I was up to 43.5 before sucking the last two weeks, 37.7 now.....

What an awful set of events (IMHO, off course):

- don't like karts in racing games, they always feel off somehow.
- Willow Springs? Pass.
- I really love Maggiore GP and I'm pretty sure I can get to my usual 500~750 place in the region with a LMP1, but I always get confused by strategies and the truth is vacations are over and I don't have the time for GT extravaganzas anymore :nervous:.

A Toyota is the Meta? I'm SHOCKED!

I'm going to try the A+ challenge too. :sly:

I felt left out. :indiff:

Seriously though, my goal this week is a DR increase, any increase. Had 2 weeks straight of minus. I'm on a - don't drop to C challenge.

Lol i’ll try to keep the C rating maybe push for B. There’s no Fia races Wed to help so I’ll be lucky to keep it at C.

Good luck fellas as ya’ll try and reach the stars.

Kartsss, say what you say, but I had a blast with this one
Steering is, well fast, but I got used to it after few laps. But really get why G29 users are having tough time...

0.56.691 BB -3

I use cockpit view for this one. Only thing is, that the lap time counter is too low and blocking the view slightly.

That view is looking down too much for me. What TCS are you running?

I wonder; do the Aliens just roll out of bed and just throw up top 10 times?
I'm not an alien, just familiar with the combo :) Also, if you know when the daily races get reset, you can log in as soon as time trials are open, put in a decent time and get your 15 minutes of fame :P

So I did 4 C races just now. 2 of them were podium finishes and the other two were atrocious P7 and P8 finishes thanks to me bottling it spectacularly. Despite that, it was good enough for this:

60000 DR! I actually peaked at 61118 but got knocked down by the last two races. I'm calling it a day now because if I continue driving like I'm drunk and binning it I'm going to drop below 60k again

Time for vacation now

View is from replay, its different in game. I use stock height but moved the view back.
TCS 0 The -3 BB seems to help with the oversteer tendencies.
Also in the last turn, I seem to keep better speed with -3BB.

Those dudes have been spying on me. #1 used the Jag and #2 used an NSX.
Hmm... must be something easier about Q-time hot lapping. I just got 17.6 on the 2nd lap I did today. I wasn't able to do that in the 50+ lobby laps I did yesterday. :odd:

Tbh it was top of your screen snip from a couple of pages ago. I had one I'd rarely driven so thought what the heck.

Very nice too. Easily keep-it-on-the-island-able in QTT and far quicker than what I was achieving in the Evo or GT-R.

I didn't expect that for me and my amateurness! Will have to see how it races when we end up in contact and miles of the track...

Cant wait to finish work and take a crack at maggiore with gr.1 One of my favorite combos for sure...and hopefully make my way back into A/S with maybe a shot at cracking the A+ egg.
Just dont get enough time to play much anymore, what with the wife wanting to netflix and or clean the house let alone all the golfing opportunities abound this season.
Race be should be fun also and even karts look interesting. Just too bad you have to change steering mode down to 270 degree rot. at the start of every race n qual on the t300.
Im switching over to fanatec this winter I think. Tired of dealing with random button presses mid corner because of the faulty connector and haveing to recenter the wheel almost everytime i turn it on, sometimes even after a big countersteering event mid race it resets way off centre.
Just dont know if ill make it till black friday before I have to pull that trigger.

Allow me to clarify. The times I put up a couple of days ago were in Time Trial mode. The cars I drove in qualifying this morning felt about like they did in Time Trial mode, only a bit quicker. Me and @Pigems did a ton of practice laps in a lobby yesterday, and every car was a lot slower. I'm 100% sure that there is something that's different, but in a good way. :)

Maybe the physics change hasn't been applied to lobby racing. Don't know what it is. I believe Pigems will confirm that there's a difference when he gets home from work.

Just fire over your PSN login details to me and i'll look after your DR while you're relaxing... no, really... you won't have to worry about a thing :nervous::lol::lol:

I can confirm the difference between Lobby/offline TT, offline TT was nearly a full second faster than lobby with the same cars. :)

Tried a Kart race at Tsukuba. QT 57.524. Started 10th. Finished 8th. CLB. No change in DR or SR but I'll take it.

Some familiar names on the grid assured me it was going to be clean. Too fun. Way too much fun. Now my wrists are too sore from gripping the wheel so hard I can't do any more.

Oh that's a given. But I think you still get an idea of what will be 'quick', don't you? I figured it was all relative?

Or is it a complete lottery? Are cars that were slow in outside testing now rapid compared the vice-versa?

Got to report that willow was good, even for a Monday. Lots of similarities with Brands. Speed to be had, places to be had mainly by being cool, smooth, and not crashing. Lost off track due to avoiding a spinning car, went from 3 to 12. 2 laps later of cool driving and no crashes I was back to 5th. Still some places for passing and SR worked it's way forward the right way, while racing. Had a great clean 3 lap battle going for 4th at one point till I just touched the left rear on the gravel at the exit of the last turn and tried to correct instead of driving through it. Weeeeeee spins. Still got 7th. Spent my time in the WRX. Supra looks fast but super unstable, saw most of those going sideways. Only seem to pull out a 19.1 qualy but can get 18's in the race and beat people with 16 and 17 q times since the supra likes dancing off the road. Found my home for the week

Brave guy, Gr 1 cars on a small fast track = lots of SR deductions.

I was having this problem on my G29, and just switched over to a CSL Elite. For me... it was a huge improvement in hardware.
