No FIA this Wednesday so I'm looking forward to more daily races as soon as my work week is over. I have a feeling I'll be doing a bit of each race, as I enjoy all of these combos. Wednesday through Friday will be daily race time, then FIA again on Saturday.

It's been so long since I've done a sport mode Kart race, I can't wait. The key there is tiny steering inputs. It's soooo easy to oversteer that thing. Any time I do kart races, I always have a bit of trouble adjusting back to normal driving when I try to race cars again. It's like I forget how to actually turn the wheel and it feels like every single car understeers like a brick. Last time I literally ran a Gr.4 car straight into a wall like I wasn't even trying to turn, lol.

For race B, it looks like several cars can be competitive. I'll try the 4C, the 86, the TT and/or RCZ, and probably the M4 as well.

Race C....not sure what to do here. Is it a hardcore fuel saving race? In which case the Toyota TS050 or 030 will be king? Or maybe the Peugeot 908? Or will it be the usual meta Audi R18 and Porsche 919? Often times these Gr.1 Race C's are all over the place with the best qualifying car VS the best race car. Depends on tire wear and fuel settings. Any insight here?

Looking forward to racing with all you daily racers as usual. Hope to see you out there later this week.

Edit: concerning racing music, I enjoy Punk Rock and Hip-hop. Occasionally I go with some faster-paced electronic stuff. Although lately I've turned off the music in GTS and have just been listening to the car & tyre sounds.

@sturk0167 the classics will always be good. Metal never dies man..... i still listen to the stuff i listened to in high school, but i love finding new bands also.

Two races done now. To elaberate a bit on the first. I started 6 and worked into 4th having a solid race with a name i recognized untill i messed up under pressure on the last lap and fell back to 7th. I did then however still have a race to the finnish after coming off the hill, held onto 7th by .007

Next race was another good one, nothing eventfull to report though. Trying to build that dr. Unless i improve a lot through the week at this race, i ain't gonna make it to a+

I also saw @Sven Jurgens starting at the back, there you are again. Whats it like for you today on the track?

I had no idea i was surroùnded by so many fellow metalheads, and ones with such good taste also. Nice....

This post gets all the likes, seriously if i could i would like it over and over and over.....

Now I might have to put on Domination and head to Big Willow. My quali is ass.

Yesterday afternoon the car choices were very diverse, but when I did my last race at 21:30 I was the lone TS050 in the top half of the grid, surrounded by R18s. You can drive flat out in the TS050 and finish with 0-2% fuel. The R18 isn't quite as good on fuel or tires, and the meta strategy in that car seems to be driving flat out and refueling in the pits rather than saving fuel. Both stints are run on Softs and the pitstop is usually on lap 6 to avoid traffic. :)

The R18 is probably the best time trial car, although oddly enough an Alpine topped the leaderboard yesterday evening. :odd:

Good for you, getting out there and racing. Honestly, I don't feel ready. My confidence for race B has taken a beating by being so much slower than the top guys than I expected. Still searching for something. :indiff:

This music talk made me go back in time. On GT5 days, I'd do 24h races all the time (specially Le Mans). So I had a "Le Mans" playlist, with everything that reminded me about racing, driving, rythm and speed. I need to check if it still lives on one of my old backup drives, but I distinctly remember some of the tunes, such as this:

I got close enough to where i feel i should be, i am not up to snuff in these cars but i know it, as long as i feel i am running good laps not sloppy ones, i may as well race to try and find the speed i seem to be lacking. I am here to race, not to win, but winning is sweet when it happens. Having good races for position and still getting a little dr each race so thats good enough for me

One for @Pigems, the new Sabaton album makes for decent driving music.

On that note, going to have to keep the other half away from Pär if we see him hanging around the VIP bar next Friday. I'll never see her again

Hmm, first time I see karts in Sport Mode... Gonna be interesting ;)

EDIT: it looks like I'm really fast with these karts. I'm 188th in EMEA (second best result ever frok me) and 323rd worldwide.

Been doin a little more qualifying at Willow, this morning. When you leave the pavement, even in an all-wheel drive, staying on the throttle aint gonna do you any good, ever. Here's an example of what it will get you.

and that was the moment you realised you'd not re-sealed your bag of family sharing M&M's :lol:

I was trying out the kart with TCS 5, and I felt too restricted, so I put it back on 0.
A thousand spins later, I finally got into the 55 second range. Definitely doable, but don't be like me and go insane over it!

Man, anything sub 55 is a fast lap. I thought I was doing ok with the 56.2 I ran last night.

Out of curiosity, what do you set your brake bias at? I'm running TC 0 with BB +3. It seems counter intuitive to run so much rear brake on something so squirrelly but anything less than that and it actually seems to understeer on entry...you just need to be really easy on the throttle on exit lol

Today I decided to use the Toyota GT86 Gr.4, and I had a faster pole position time than the GT-R I ran on Monday, I did 1: 16: 895 Using Dualshock 4 with manual shift, throttle on X button and brake on O button. I got 4 wins, 3 second places, 1 ninth place, and a seventh place.

Man, you'd be a lot faster switching the throttle/braking to L2/R2 since those are analogic buttons. X and O are digital (like 100% or 0%). L2/R2 gives you the hability of being a lot more precise on throttle and braking control.

Agree.

And that’s part of the reason, I said “It’s easy to get wins.” I never said I’m better than anyone because I’m winning.

The other drongo changed the context of the conversation.

It’s a bit of an echo chamber in here. Once one drongo starts the others virtue signal.

Anyway that was yesterday’s conversation...
I agree, let it rest.

I know. And since I've been playing Gran Turismo since the beginning with this control setup, it's mainly because I don't have the usual for use the R2 and L2 for accelerator and brake.
