Had some really tough Race C's last night as mostly A+ drivers including some big names such as wifi password, VLXSteveGaming and Kie doing a last to wherever stream. Definitively was a minnow in those races. I had two races in that lobby and got spun round in both of them. Thanks to the strength of the lobby didn't lose too much DR though.

The game then took pity on me and put me in a lobby with racers more at my level (just 2 A+ and the rest A). Started 7th and finished 3rd (thanks to P3 almost spinning coming out of the hairpin on the last lap).

I have mixed feelings about Race C. I like the car but it doesn't feel powerful enough around Suzuka. With so much of the track being flat out it makes overtaking really difficult unless someone makes a mistake. Still having fun with it though and the grid start makes the first lap really close and tense. I just think a shorter circuit would have been a better choice.

Race C is a pretty rare opportunity for me, as it's like a Nations Cup race but you can do it over and over again. Race Cs are normally higher performance cars that I don't do well with, but with this car I was on pole by a second and gained 4200 DR from 3 races. I feel like I should probably do nothing but drive this race for this week then never race again!

It seems like every race I'm just at the cusp and then gone.

Frustrated but haven't dropped that much

But still

Stupid question, can't find an answer in searches...

To have a 2nd account I need to use a different email address than my main account and have a seperate PSN subscription?

Wild adventure going into race A tonight.

I didn’t get much practice for the first run, botched first lap getting to grips with the limits of the car, second lap didn’t count due to penalties, and third lap was the only lap that I was able to set a time with as I goofed the 4th lap at the bus stop of death.

Somehow I ended up on pole. That’s the first time in surely a year at least. It was only a 1:56.3xx so needless to say I was surprised considering the times I was seeing in the top 10 and I was matched with other DR Bs.

I goofed a little in the hairpin and it let P2 get past me on the exit, but only just. For some reason he braked in the left hander in the tunnel (I don’t think you even need to lift there, certainly not brake), completely caught me off guard and I crashed into him which sent me into the left wall, he ended up spinning. I felt bad about it but he took the corner wrong and there wasn’t a lot of margin for me to avoid. I ended up falling back to 4th, but made up two positions and took home 2nd in my first race.

I really like this combo, it looks like my time enjoying old RR cars has paid off cuz I’m doing abnormally well. I’m getting throwbacks to NFS Porsche Unleashed, Tokyo at night was giving me vibes of the Monte Carlo circuits and Autobahn track.

Hey man, saw you on Kie's stream. You were doing well until you got unceremoniously punted off coming up to Casio :indiff:

I've somehow managed to put in a 2:31.6 for Suzuka, which I was delighted with until I saw in an earlier post that @Pigems has a 31.1 - nice! I will however hold off racing until I can put in at least 5 clean laps in a row. If I can't even manage that when cruising round on my own then I will cause carnage with 19 others on track :D

There's a reason why the Porsche 930 is called the WIDOWMAKER .My wife's girlfriend's husband has a red one .I got to take it for a SPIN last year, :nervous::eek:
Tell your wife's girlfriends husband to put some modern gripping tires on it and it will be a much better car. The Widow maker moniker is largely because the tires where not up to the task. They are now.

911 turbo @ Tokyo, morning laps for daily workout;

I got myself down to a 1.53.966, which felt like about as fast as I can manage right now. Managed to get the braking at the hairpin better and get to the kerbs, but grabbed 1st and naturally popped a slide on exit that lost some time. I'm still running BB0 and the brakes feel super spongy heading into the hairpin and 90 degree right handers, but I never really toy with the bias as im very unsure where to set it.

As always I draw on my rally experience and basically skip the chicane, so I feel like most of the time to be had is at that hairpin. That said I saw someone say a 1.56 gave them pole at C rank so maybe I should just go racing once I can consistently put that lap in :P

If you haven't yet, try the 930 on the Sport Time Trial mode. You'll hate it more.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'm not suicidal.

Here is what I don't understand; It's a one-make race, yet, they have BoP turned on. Why? And also, I'm SHOCKED at how nerfed that car is with the BoP on.

Right who's this Lurismo-tester guy? Just a 2nd account?
Also nice to see @Doodle on the leaderboard haven't seen him in a while

I saw that Lurismo-tester guy in Race A last night! Well, ok, I only saw him on the grid screen, I never actually saw him driving as I finished nearly 2 mins behind him  .. thanks to the penalties!

Oh? So the stories are true?

That's another issue with Race A. Getting a qualifying time to actually count!

I saw LT there on there last night, it must be an Alt Daily account, Brazilian though?

While we're at it, let's ask OakleyFino what he's up to too.

I guess when you set up you alt account some peeps are setting up to race on different servers for whatever gain, experience or posterity that may achieve?

What an up and down race that was. Started 4th. slipped up on Lap 4. Got a penalty. Had a snap oversteer moment. Went off and fell to 7th. 4th & 5th took each other out with 2 to go. 3rd place went wide at T1. After 1st place had a gap of 15 seconds, I finished 5 seconds behind.

Thanks! I really felt I was holding my own in a stupidly hard lobby. With a bit of luck I felt a top 10 wasn't impossible. But then yeah, someone misses their brake point and punts me round

And it's terrifying seeing Kie bearing down on you when he started 8 positions back!

Any way to prevent the t300 from resetting the degrees of rotation every time I hit retry, or go to a race menu? Its very hard adjusting while driving and then turning before the long straight to get a good run

I don’t think so, just hit pause and then adjust at the start of a session, then Unpause and continue on. :)

U guys ever screw up in a race because of notifications popping up on the screen? Yesterday at Tokyo, I had a pop up that said someone liked one of my activities, and my eyes look up like "Oh, what's this". That was right about the time I was supposed to start braking, but because of the distraction, I ended up with a bunch of tire screeching and a crash.

I also get the PSN friend messages and server maintenance notifications during races. Any way to shut messages off during a race?

No there is not, I shall instruct my kids to message you while we race :mischievous:

I think there's only an option to turn messages off while watching movies. You'll have to turn them off altogether but GTS notifications in game might still happen. That server maintenance banner is not only distracting, it blocks the rear view mirror each time.

I should have listened to the warnings. I wanted to jump into a "fun" race. Widowmaker on one of my favorite Toyko layouts? Sign me up. Then I had a bright idea to make things even more "fun"...let's try a no quali, last to first challenge.

Despite running low 1:52s in 3 attempts I picked up 5s penalties each race. The first attempt was an honest misjudgment of where to brake for the last chicane. The other 2 were all due to random drivers in front braking at what seemed to be the 500m signage at every turn. Doing my best to avoid carnage I was not able to successfully obtain first.

I wanted to stop, but the challenge was just too tempting. SR 99 > 64. Upon realizing that I would ultimately reset my 65k DR with one more go I jumped into Race B to repair my DR. 3 races. 3 wins. 18 SR gained.

Tonight I will run Race B and C until I get back to 99 SR and then like a complete fool I will go into Race A again and try one more time...

I thought you could shut all those off in the PS4 Settings menu? The non Game notifications anyways.

Oh, is that you @MattJones_e36 ??

Yes, realized i was racing too little on the main account for fears of losing DR, specially on race A which is usually my favorite yet most risky in that aspect, so i fired that alt up. Should see me more in actual racing, i hope, if time allows it
