Yes, realized i was racing too little on the main account for fears of losing DR, specially on race A which is usually my favorite yet most risky in that aspect, so i fired that alt up. Should see me more in actual racing, i hope, if time allows it

Nice, I did the same a while back, GTSmegip is my Alt account, I hope to see you out there more often now then!

For those running alt accounts why is it such a big deal to have high DR?
Serious question

On your normal account you mean? If so, it’s just nice to race without having to worry about anything like Losing points for a 2-5th place finish or getting punted. It’s stress free racing again, plus I like having the option to start at either front or back in the same week. :)

Once I have my alt account up and running I plan on using it as practice during the week, without worrying about DR, then be comfortable enough by the weekend to use my main account

Good luck with that. I've already blocked your kids. I assume they're the ones racing under the name SvennoJr.
Super dirty and punt happy.
I guess they're racing while you're out biking through the countryside.
Yeah. I suspect with over 8000 races, he must have all his children on rotation playing in shifts. I also calculate that he must have around 200 children. :sly:

You can race if you wannoo. You can leave your friends behind. 'Cause your friends don't race, and if they don't race, well their no friends of mine....Entering the race and just using whatever time was left before the race starts to qualify turns out to be a "really bad idea" (tm). Yesterday it was the bug, and I managed ok with that during the race. Crap qually time but it didn't mean much in the end. Tonight I gave the R8 a burl. In the past I've gotten along well with the R8, if tyre wear wasn't an issue. Yea gads! Hooly dooly! There was some serious communication issues between my inputs and it's reaction! I know the car is capable of some blisteringly fast times, but I wasn't able to get within 2s of my Beetle time :crying-blue: . the guy I beat yesterday started 1 place behind me yesterday. Today he was 2 places ahead. P9/15 for me.

Race starts and I'm off to an ok start. Was holding my head above water till the second esses, when once again, it's time to put on that pink tutu
and Swan Lake it. Round and around and around I go.. I felt like a bloody roulette wheel! Dropped back to P13. Sadly, more people had their 🤬 together tonight. I was P12 heading into the final lap when the guy I passed last night...on the final lap, I passed again in the same place! I finished P11. I think it will be the M3 next.

SR unchanged at 99, DR dropped about half of what I gained yesterday. Another day above DR 1 .

Serious question
Main account: Not terribly important. I just use the DR rating for my own stupid personal goal.
Alt account: I prefer to have low DR and high SR. I've reset it twice on purpose.
With an A rating, the game blames me for every contact. B is where I like to be.

That went better than i thought it would. Saw @Sven Jurgens make a run from the back into 5? I think it was, yeah thats right. Cuse i started 3 and fell into 4 after a minor incident with a guy i know and trust. It didn't cost me much and was a racing incident that was mostly unavoidable and he got a 2 sec penalty for it. The race really was much better than i expected actually, heading in for another one or two before work. Wish me luck lol

Hmm thanks for the answers.
I could see wanting to race top split FIA to go up against very best.
It seems running alt account is the way to go since half these fields in dailies are alter ego people who don’t care if they crash.
I’m frustrated by it.
I am literally pretty much forced to start an alter ego at this point.
I actually enjoy racing with something on the line, but going against alt people with nothing on the line is an unfair disadvantage, if they don’t care odds of them making questionable moves is high.
I get the idea of daily risk. I do.
I’ve been punted to last and lost 1300 or more in a daily. For me risk is an important element of racing experience.
I guess for me it’s a case of the reality of the game-when in Rome...
There should be a way for high ranked top people to run dailies without risking 10000 or more points if punted or whatever.
Pretty sure I’ve seen several times now in dailies players protecting a guy ahead....
Maybe I need to find a team even in dailies, either that or alt....

As others have said, it's mainly for FIA races. If you want to be in the top split lobby, or the top few, maintaining a certain DR is key. But also, I like to qualify on my main account and get wins and podiums if the racing up front is good...but also want to start from the back sometimes so I can have a different kind of fun and maybe make a good replay video or two. Yesterday morning I qualified for Race C and when I first set a time it was P2 in NA region behind Lester. He wasn't racing at the time, so I got 2 boring wins back to back with a 5s lead by the end of the race. After that I used the smurf account just so I could have more fun in the race. Another thing is protecting SR...if I plan to race some daily races on the same day as an FIA race, I use my alt account so I don't affect my SR right before entering FIA. It's not often I have races bad enough to put me below 91, but you better believe that's gonna happen at the worst time possible. It's happened before, I've entered an FIA race at SR90 and DR55k....the winner of that race (me) got less than 500 FIA pts and also took a win away from some other, slower guy who deserved it among his peers.

While we're at it, let's ask OakleyFino what he's up to too.

I guess when you set up you alt account some peeps are setting up to race on different servers for whatever gain, experience or posterity that may achieve?
I've thought of making an alt account to race the European folks. I'd love to come across people like Super GT, Kie25, and TRL_Lightning and see how slow I am

@Groundfish wait, are we having tryouts for a team?

I’ve been wanting to make a EU account too, there’s more competition on average over there. :)

Plus with an added EU/Japan account you can then watch any top ten video, not just the ones in your reaction, you can also see the cars the top guys used that way too. :)

No no no, no more room for speedy folks here, please stay away, no shortage of guys I can't beat :)

Geographically, you're probably closer to their server than a lot of people that are racing in that region. Might not be any connection issues for you.

Just to note from what I said earlier, if you want to race in a different region than your current one then you DO need a separate PS+ subscription for it.

Oh really? I didn’t know that, my son has one for his account, maybe I can transfer that one over somehow? Lol

I'm not saying you're wrong, as I don't know for sure, but are you sure that's true? I know a guy who plays on different accounts in each region, and I haven't asked him, but I don't really think he has that many PS+ accounts.

DR is overrated. I've gone from 75k to 45k in 3 weeks just by driving slower cars and starting from the back, the racing has been really good fun.

:( Looks like I'm staying here then lol.

LMAO
Doubt I’d make the first cut in this company!
It's okay. If it makes you feel better: when I was in high school, I went for the school's cross country team, a no-cut sport. I was so bad, I was cut from a no-cut sport.

Aaaand I'm not making another account lol.

Well i can't answer for others, but when i say "carefree daily racing" it doesn't mean "not caring about racing etiquette", i still do my best and race fair no matter the account. The carefree part just means i'm able to race without worrying about getting punted and losing DR, it's specially troublesome on daily A races with road cars (my favorite kind of race), where the field is pretty spread out DR-wise, thus the risk-reward factor is pretty bad in these with the main account, takes the fun out of it for me. Not anymore with the alt!

So I WAS sure, but having read up I'm now a lot less so! I may well have been wrong.....

I guess the easiest way to find out would be to set up an account in a different region and see what happens!

Sorry for the miss-information.

Two more good races. With the exception of a minor wall touch that got me a 5sec penalty in the first one. Good racing in both, a little suprised not to see more people having trouble with the car tbh. Second race i started 2nd and had a solid back and forth race with allan yeshua (if your on here, great race my man) i messed up the chicane on the last lap by trying to go a little faster than i usually do. Went flying, managed to cut back before hitting the barriers but was terrified i would be cutting him off. Tried to stay on the path i was on so he could at least try and avoid me, and he did. Good post race msgs all around also. Saw sven in all my races this morning. I expect his report in soon lol he said he was done for now.
