Darn, now everyone is leaving to Europe lol. I'll stay here with all the Brazilians :scared:

Time to race, 8pm Tokyo spark way. It's chaos in here, probably the same on the track, severe thunderstorm watch outside, perfect conditions. Starting 8th of 11, prepare to get punted T1.

2nd place finish, however -17 SR from 2 x 1 second BS penalty and a tap from behind SR Down. You can't pass anymore in this game, all the other car has to do is tap your rear bumper as you go by and then the wall. From 99 to 82 SR in 1 race. Next.

I was wondering about that, too. I'd rather sign up to the Asian server.

With the time difference and low player count, you'll probably be racing by yourself
Europe is 6 hours ahead to me so it's past 2 am there already while I get to race.
Japan is erm +9, 14 hours difference with me, just pas 9 am there atm. I guess you won't be alone unless you race in the afternoon.

Geographically, you're probably closer to their server than a lot of people that are racing in that region. Might not be any connection issues for you.

Speaking of regions and connection issues. Does Brazil have an internet problem?

Asking for a friend...

That makes one of us. :banghead:

I tried with the DS4. I was surprised to see that I actually found it easier to control. Weird.

I like it! Missiles should definitely be available in the Mileage Exchange. We can still maintain the integrity of racing with a set up like the one pictured, that only allows 4 missiles per race. Oh, and you lose 2 SR points for every competitor that you destroy. They can still race. They just get spawned to last place. You're definitely not gonna want to start on the pole.

I'm sure nobody would complain.

Sounds like you want a GTS/Mario Kart/Spy Hunter combo?

@sturk0167 It’s actually a pretty close call, but I think I may be slightly closer to you than Europe.

I'm only 9 hours from you

CnF_Pigemz has Officially been created, he’s from the town/city of Blackwood, in Wales, UK. Now to start levelling him up, that’s the worst part about a new account, they start off with SFA! Race A it is then for now. :D

I saw him on my feed as someone who you're friends with. I was wondering what was up.

I was wondering about that, too. I'd rather sign up to the Asian server.

South America should have their own server.

Climb back up to the 90+ SR rooms, bam dive bomb at the chicane. I avoid the diver but he punts the car in front of me and stops dead in my path... I get 5 sec penalty, back to 81 SR  PD sure has a good sense of humor.

I had a 2nd place finish before that with fastest lap and clean race bonus, threading the needle between out of control cars. I feel like I'm trolling when I stay in one lane in the first section while easily passing cars sliding across 3 lanes. Dumb matchmaking or not enough entries. The skill difference between the front and the back is as wide as the grand canyon. It's pretty much Russian roulette to race without qualifying. I guess I'm addicted to these sudden death mode races, next one is loading!

I'm ending the evening in SR.A (74) It has been one BS penalty after the other. A 1 bar connection jumping all over the place, 2 sec penalty. Get bumped by an Argentinian into the wall, he gets 1 sec penalty, I get 4 sec. Perhaps since he bounced off after turning in on me and hit the wall harder? He was still ahead, does not make sense. I guess this is the way it is. Regain SR in the morning, lose it in the evening. Too messy in the evening. Last race I did I was the only blue rating afterwards. I had the fastest lap and would have easily won that one had I not been T-boned into the back wall at the hairpin for which the game gave me SR Down and 5 sec "collision with barrier" penalty. At least it's never boring, gaining 8 positions per race.

Perhaps I should take a trip down to SR.C, might be cleaner there

Hmmm. Dr helps with women? I tend to view women as more of a problem than some haha. Can’t live with them, can’t send em to Monza turn one in N500 from second place on the grid....Nuff said.
I race for points when I feel I will be competitive. Like this week no. One thing I feel happens at least as high as I am at A and 99 with slow cars is some door banging, which is ok, what is not is like what happened to my friend @Qyn above. Rage quit is always back downhill. I’ll never do it after doing it what week before last and feeling the rating hit.
Tsukuba in general is a sore spot for me. Great track for n100, but on dailies for rating it’s suicide unless you are the rabbit for the most part. I feel what the road car pros are saying regarding alt accounts.
For me that’s a pretty good reason to have a fun account. Tracks I am competent on and want to race clean, but without feeling so bad about people’s moves wrecking it (EDIT or spend too much effort in qual) I guess. That, and maybe helping a friend here and there in a team type environment.
Also TRULY NOT giving a crap about dealing some pain to some cheaters.
Hate to say this and it’s not pc but it’s just reality for me. I would bsolutely use my alter ego in this way.
That’s just how I am. I can’t turn the other cheek and all that.
For people that may just play and try to win with no real etiquette imo that’s how they will learn. Let the door get shut on them, then maybe they will think twice before doing things like sideswiping people on spoon.
That’s the thing with Suzuka, I’ve had a lot of success there, but there’s places on track you HAVE to be fast, just to avoid mayhem, and it can happen despite your best efforts...That’s definitely less than 10 percent of sport mode I have seen tho. 90 plus is an important number imo.
Anyhoo...
When I studied about racing, I used the one book aside from an earlier one that was written by Alain Prost that I have stashed somewhere that I read when I was learning to drive...@Pigems I really appreciate your comment above, and I’m so glad to see others benefit from information sharing, that’s positive energy you are building man!
Henceforth, since I tried to sell it but was unsuccessful, I will refer to it as the book. Dig it!
Also dr2 is great for a change of pace from the grind...

Hey guys, I'm calling in from the Asia Server here. Not exactly heaps better here. Just can't jokingly claim it's the punks from one country. Rarely ever see more than 3 countries in a race. Tried to do race C here during the day while off from work. Total joke. I get plugged into 2 lobbies full of aliens. Nice 8 laps of hot lapping the first time while watching everyone drive away after I got pushed just barely wide earlier by a known problem. second time I was in the top 6! doing well until I went a touch wide at spoon. Ummm, no such thing there, gone back to last. Soooo more hot lapping all alone. Last race was more competitive, and staying top 8 until I went wide at the degnas(sp?). Had to stop to get back on track, lost 3 or 4 seconds, and then after I get back on I'm given a 0.5 for ignoring track limits. Just to show pd's system is a right bastard. I enjoy a bit of the race, but there are a couple people I keep running into who cause me too much trouble. They are doing the no qually race, but both are supremely impatient and masters of the nudge wide to clear a line with no penalty, or knocking one car into another to cause an accident where they take out others and get no penalty. They are fast but I hate seeing them in the lobby. Especially as both are very high A drivers and I'm a low B.

Will have to try again after people at my skill level join. RTC is definitely nerfed if you're using automatic though. Lose mountains of time through the casio triangle and exiting the hairpin unless you are EXACTLY perfect.

Is there any way to know if my connection would be good on another region's server. If I'm lagging and bouncing all over the place from other people's viewpoint, I wouldn't want to bother with it. Just wouldn't be fair to others.

I honestly don't know how you guys lap tokyo in that 930. I'm going back to race C. As a side note, Asia has a pretty solid standard of racing once you get above B, but I cam still get on at 9 on a friday night and be stuck in a lobby with A and A+ drivers while I am at the back with a D. So you can get some wildly scrambled races. My first today had an S/S, 3 A+, 6 A drivers, along with me at 15k in the B and 2 D drivers. So yeah, don't know how random your lobbies are but this was at 1:00 on a wednesday.

Ok I'm going to bite the bullet and try some racing online in the roadster.. will be using alternate account 'roadrunnerpitts' Hope to see some gtp guys there 👍 although my rank is only CA on this account I'm starting low and work my way up :D

edit: scrap that idea haha back to TT's 👍

Aaaand, that's me done.

I was hoping to get a few more races in tonight. But I'm really not feeling it, at the moment (I'm also as slow as a slow thing riding a lethargic snail) S'all good though. I have stuff to pack, clothes to wash, and boots to clean.

Meal with Sarah tomorrow, and off to Bloodstock on Thursday. See you guys on Monday.
Have a blast man, I've heard Bloodstock kicks ass! You've put me in a metal mood - gonna bang some SikTh with the morning drive :)

@Pigems the chap who rammed you was French - that flag is the tricolore. Did warn you. But it's important to remember that the French drink wine with every meal and always get hammered at lunch time. But as with any nation there's the good eggs and the bad eggs - I find most Spaniards to race clean but when they are dirty they'll do a lot worse than what Pierre did there.

Here's some info to help you identify flags (and for the others who are gonna hop over). As you can see, "his flag was red white and blue" will not get you far :P

You can expect mostly to see British, French, Spanish, German, Dutch and Portuguese drivers in my experience, though there are a fair few guys from the Slavic region also. The Irish love motorsport and a lot of them are pretty quick. I believe many Brazilians including Igor Fraga have Portugese accounts for EMEA as that's the language they speak.

You may also see some Middle Eastern flags though these are pretty obvious and the PSN IDs are usually short incoherent strings of letters, and the only African flag I've ever seen is South Africa which you'll recognise as David Perel's flag.

Good luck and try not to reignite any thousand year old grudges! There are more than a few on our lovely continent :)

The penalty system on Tokyo with the 930 is very unforgiving! I still managed to score a nice victory there after qualifying P3.:gtpflag:

I have also tried the endurance race in the Miata TC. Started from the back of the grid and had issues with dirty drivers (all of the british drivers from this race were absolute morons... That was pretty uncommon), so after being pushed wide in the gravel, I was 20th and last in Lap2... Managed to make my way up to 15th by the end of lap 8... I'll try to set a better qualifying time before I start again.:(

DR score around 22k, SR at 97, I'm in a good shape.

Just about over race C. Keep getting put in as filler for high powered lobbies. Finally had one where I was involved in a good battle with a few drivers when one of the A/S sholes who spun off came blasting back through and I was the one who screwed up letting him past. End up pootling along by myself the last lap as once you are out of the slipstream it is hopeless unless you are massively faster than guy in front. Can't figure out why I'm in these lobbies, my lap is 2:35.0 and last race I started 18th, guy in 16th was 2:33.0. I kept up well, but still hard to shake feeling I'm just plugging in as filler for the A and A+ guys ahead of me to farm for points. Will just have to get better, or learn another race.

Still only down 1000 DR, but at my rank that's a lot of points

Just knocked nearly a second off my quali time for race A. Still only 57.3xx but that feels good!

Before this forum, I was playing as a blind optimist, as in one who does the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.:dunce: Thanks, guys.

OMG! Another 0.4 secs. off :boggled::boggled:. Down from 1:58.073 to 1:56.976 in a dozen laps!
I read where @sturk0167 Went round mostly over 130kph (80mph for us Brits), so I aimed for that, so thanks again.

Sorry, apologies needed, it was @Sven Jurgens with the 130kph bit. :O

Same, man, stick at it, you stumbled in to the right place. I've gotten remarkably better since appearing here and pestering the locals for tips. Keep at it! Always a better lap to be had...

This is annoying, saw your helpfull video and still stuck in 2.35.3xx :D I think my optimal is 34 high, but i cant see how to get a 2.30 or even close
With this car, it's fairly easy to drive, so you should be able to push it a bit more. Slightly adjust your braking points, accelerate a bit sooner if needed. Try to be really smooth on the hairpin and the chicane, as it's a bit easy to have the car start to slide a bit.

Enjoying race A and the qualifying especially. Current physics really are more enjoyable with street cars and tires. :tup:Just got into 1:52.9s with few mistakes and optimal somewhere 1:52.6. At this point #94 at EMEA and still making leaps of improvement.

Funny thing is i was going to forget race A after first race - i think 15sec of penalties from light barrier contacts while trying to avoid other racers. Dead last and nearly lost 1000 dr in that race. then I started to take it easy and went for a long streak of 2nd-5th finishes with 1-2 gained places per race. Pretty much impossible to win as there is always one or two of those 1:51 guy up front. :indiff: That was with my old q time of 53.9, so i assume ill be either starting higher now or begging for scraps from S/A+..:nervous:

@Pigems , it feels so weird "starting over" in GT Sport lol. I just completed my first Sport race... I somehow avoided the chaos from the 930 race

Nice! It does, going back to having no cars or money is strange. Did you qualify? I think I’ll Q tonight before going at it again, I just want to build this account up quickly. Maybe I’ll go at race A tonight instead, how’s the racing there?

Ran a few race B yesterday evening in the RSR. Have to push hard with it to keep up and was obviously driving above my ability so had a few spins and a wall contact.
Switched to the F-type and clawed back my DR points in two races.

Edit: the RSR is so much fun though, the F-type feels like a more stable but a little boring after the Porsche

Mario Cart.,
CTR, more like!

I wouldn't... I'm waiting for the day the Mileage Exchange starts offering warp orbs and N. Tropy clocks. :mischievous:

I’d be happy with a Red Turtle shell or a Banana peel. :D

@Mistah_MCA @Pigems

When starting over with a new account I found that Circuit Experience is your friend for both cars and credits. Some of them only take a few minutes to do.

Hope to see you on track soon!

You are correct Sir, I use those to get the quick cash for a new ride when needed. :)

Just ragequit a race for only the 3rd time ever. Race A, started 3rd. Gained on the top 2 a little coming out of the tunnel. Went alongside 2nd to brake for the right hander before the chicane. Braked at the bridge and made the gap. Guy I was passing turned in on me and i was sent into the outside wall. Instant SR down, 2 second penalty. I yeeted the chicane in anger and got another 5 for hitting the wall.

**** off, penalty system. If I'm gonna get 2s penalty for being brave, making a valid move but the other driver isn't paying attention, then race A can **** right off.

I am **** at group 3 and yamagiwa so I guess I'll try for race C at Suzuka - where I am utterly awful if I wanna do any racing this week. 0 - boiling blood in record time. **** off do I need a time penalty for that, I already lost over 2s when the blind idiot turned in on me.

DR didn't seem to take a hit and I'm still SR S, so I guess the game had the good foresight not to completely **** me.
