The Rarri was actually a nice drive, I just left it in FM2 the entire race and short shifted the first half, then wound it out more and more as I got closer to the end. It looked like a mess up front though, lots of spun out cars and red dots, I can’t wait to go back and watch that replay.

Nice race @Sven Jurgens Did Crabby knock you off too, or was that the other guy in the black Evo?

It was the one finishing last and the one that apologized after the race. First one I got SR Down while punted almost beyong the gravel pit, second one he got a penalty but not enough to catch up until he got a second penalty lol.

Well I met the dirtiest player on GTS again today. He started (as SR.S) in 2nd place. I passed him at some point when he had 15 sec flashing above his head. He finished 12th and off to SR.C again for easy victories.
MQ9d.jpg

I ended up with a BS penalty from a track re-entry. "Forced another car off road" He wasn't even on the road to begin with....
How can I force a car off the road that's not on the road

A later race had this beauty of a standing start, fun!

I finished 4th in that one as well in the end. Luckily that tap at the start didn't take the CRB away. That race was messed up due to a one bar connection messing up the game. At some point 5th (I was 6th at the time) disappeared again completely for half a lap to suddenly re-appear in front of me as 13th, before changing back to 5th in the next lap.... (If you look closely right at the end of the video, he suddenly appears as 14th there, so I'm actually 6th instead of 5th)

As for progress with the clean race bonus from the back, 20 cars cleared so far. 15 to go. It's going to be tight this week. I'll take it slow next week. A and B don't interest me at all, and GR.4 doesn't interest me that much either. But who knows, there are 'only' 27 cars in GR.4, if things aren't too dirty I might end up racing them all anyway. I wonder if it's going to be another fuel save competition again. Half the cars in GR.3 need so much fuel saving this week they are practically useless.

Sorry, Sven. I've been looking for that dude since you first mentioned him a few weeks ago. No luck yet, but it will happen.
Here's a message for that 🤬. Hope you're listening, bud. :mischievous:

I'll be sure to post a video clip when the job's done. 👍

No clue how you came up with your PSN name.

It came after months of long, hard, philophical thought, debate, and discussion.

And here I was thinking it was for the eyebrows! :D

Sadly haven't had time to get on tonight, but I'll be there for sure tomorrow night for some racing fun! :D

Hey guys, had a trial run at some qually laps on race C, but I still hate that track. And I can't find a car? Everything I find handles semi-decent I know takes some trickery to make it last. I tried the Atenza for a few laps but could not make that thing turn at all? Everyone says it seems to handle well but it was the most understeer thing I've ever had, including the TT. Any ideas what the hell I'm doing wrong? TC1 BB3(to the rear) driving a DS4

As ... uncouth as it is to say this, seriously, our friends from down south ... man. Not every one is bad but dear me, a good portion have ZERO patience, just zero. If they catch you they absolutely MUST PASS RIGHT NOW. No setting you up or making a clean pass, it's pushing the nose in at every turn, bump passing or outright pushing you off.

I guess if you live in a dog eat dog world you attain this mentality but man, i dread it when i see them behind me on the grid.
These kind of stereotypes should at least receive a warning from mods but I know this forum is beyond ok with blatant xenophobia. Guess racing is just for northerners.

Doh, 3rd attempt in the Beetle and I bump @Pigems wide. My bad. The car behind me was hounding me for a lap, I didn't dare brake early, I shoulda just let him by (although then he would have been on your ass). That tactic usually works, let the pushy car behind through and he'll take the car in front of you out. I guess I wanted to take you out myself

See you again, 4th try in the Beetle coming up.

No worries man, it’s all good. I thought the car behind you bumped you into me, you guys were so close when I’m looked in the mirror so I just assumed. Good race, I’m really liking the Ferrari actually, it’s not even that bad on tires. :)

Ah ok, I wasn’t sure. Nice that he apologized at least, it’s more than one typically gets. :)

Mad props for entering up in that Italian death Trap! Nice work.

I like it! I might try the Lambo next, I think I have one. :)

Edit: Yup, I’ve got one. These are my only
Other options, I think I’ve got just over a M Credits too, so that’s at least two more cars I can try too. :)

I believe a certain Winnie did some good work in the Subaru before...That was a long time ago...

@Sven thanks for the heads up...For that guy...

I almost forgot to mention, the alien like guys in the top of my lobby...Two of them knew each other...One commented to the other how much he was enjoying this game after coming over from AC...I thought that was neat...

Try the Viper, seems to work really well around Catalunya, lots of passing power to get by all of those 911’s. Keep the revs under half and keep it in 3rd through the final chicane, should do well.

Cool, I’ll try that one next, thanks for the info.

Just got DC’d during the opening lobby in the next race. Weird, that never happens. I guess I’m not supposed to use the Lambo? It actually seemed pretty mild mannered in the couple warm up laps I did, I’ll have to come back to it. :)

Lambo was fun too, good to drive after the rari, also very sensitive.

4th attempt spoiled by a Brazil vs Argentina fight. The Brazilian knocked me off the track, he got another penalty so I didn't lose the crb yet. But then as the Brazilian and Argentinian had to serve their penalties they were side by side in the penalty zone, traffic didn't know what to do and started wildly swerving in the braking zone. I could not avoid all of them... SR Down for me. Then later I got another bump from behind for another SR Down. Evening racing is cursed!

One Brazilian quit, one left with a red A, another with a red B and the Argentinian just a simple red S. It was a massacre. I finished 6th in the end, 13 positions up, but no crb.

I'm taking a break, until tomorrow likely. Evenings are too aggressive for clean race bonus. The field gets scrambled too much from punts and penalty zone slow downs so you continually get those situations where you're behind someone with another faster car pushing from behind trying to get back to the front. In the morning it's all much more organized, none or perhaps one red S, no penalty zone mess ups, respectful racing. This last race had 80% red ratings and red dots again.

Good luck!!

@NevilleNobody, you're good.

I respectfully disagree. Since this isn't a CNN forum, telling it like it is, is perfectly fine. Not everyone with an observation is a racist or a xenophobe.

I said the same thing about people from USA. Why didn't you call me out for talking 🤬 about the white people? Take it elsewhere.

Nothing personal. I've never had any problems with you. I like Lurch.

FIA races do give out points based on strength of field. The formula for the winner's points in a regular 20 player lobby is (average lobby DR) / 24. :)
Right, and so if matchmaking is based on DR, then don't you think it'd be better if there were separate ladders for each championship vs. having the daily races feed into it?

EDIT: How do other titles such as iRacing go about this sorta thing, anyway?

Since nowadays people use different accounts for FIA and dailies it pretty much already is that way.

It doesn't really matter in the end. To win the championship you need to be great all round. Sure you can farm DR on a track+car combo you're good at in the dailies and score a few extra points in one championship race that way. Yet you'll be quickly left behind on the other tracks.

I decided to go for one more crb attempt in the Beetle, 5th I think. @Mistah_MCA was in the race, finished second, well done! Me, I only got bumped off once, a lot cleaner already! Unfortunatelty I zoned out for a second while all alone on the track and completely missed my brake point at the penalty zone. I went wide, bumped a block out of the way, re-entered the track, still nobody around, crb gone :banghead: That's another reason why I suck at qualifying, nobody around, I tune out :ouch:

That Beetle is cursed, 6th attempt tomorrow morning!

Get of your righteous self horse for a second fella..................he could be talking about ANYBODY South of the 49th Parallel; they are Canadian after all.

The Green and Gold are just as bad as the Stars and Stripes, as they are as the Green, White and Red, and the Yellow, Blue and Red Etc etc.

It just so happens that the drivers with a blue globe in their flag are exceptionally aggressive.

I'm having the best races in my entire GT Sport career at Race C this week! I'm DR B/SR S, and extremely time poor, so only managed a quali time of ~1:48.5. Decided to give the Gr.3 Atenza a spin for the first time, after hearing great things about it. This thing rocks!! I've only done a few races so far, starting between P12-14 each time. I've gained between 5-7 places in every race on no-stop strategies!

The Atenza is great on fuel and tyres, no need to short shift or save rubber. Just pedal to the metal, and you'll JUST make it to the finish. Ok, there was one race where I had to go to Fuel Map 3 for the last lap, but on the last 3 corners, I switched back to Fuel Map 1, and ran out of gas, like 5 metres before the finish lol! The Atenza's speed is alright, but handling is solid and stable. I run TC 0 and ABS Weak on a T-GT, had no problems keeping it on the tarmac and have had ZERO spins so far.

It's great fun reeling in 911s and R8s as they're forced to start sipping fuel and save rubber. I'm usually the only Atenza on the grid, and that makes it all the more satisfying. Great machine, great track. Will spam this race for all it's worth with the time that's left!

Liftoff just before the apex, the Atenza will turn tighter. The car can also go deep under brakes(I leave brakes stock and TCS 2) at T1 and the turn after the underpass. At that turn, liftoff for a tighter radius and mash the throttle on the way out. I have some video in my previous posts. It also brakes deep at the Catalunya hairpin.

As mentioned in the other post I quoted, you can be aggressive with the throttle. Rev it to redline for extra grunt600+hp) out of corners), while other cars are shortshifting. It's the sleeper in this event. :)

I know this forum is beyond ok with blatant xenophobia.

No it isn't. And your generalisation about this forum is almost as bad as the racism you accuse it of. Report anything you feel unnaceptable and move on. The mods are excellent.

There is no room for racism/xenophobia anywhere and how some people work it into conversations about A GAME is beyond me. I despair as to how these people conduct their everyday lives.

There are clean drivers and dirty drivers in every nation I've raced against. Pre-judging a driver based on what side of a line they were born on is madness. I can't even find the words for it.

Rant over. I hope everyone has a great weekend :)

I think you’re going into corners way too hot. Catalunya’s long sweepers bring out the understeer in every car, there’s just no way around that. I find that “slow in, fast out” really works here. Lay off the throttle a bit earlier to hug the inside line. Make sure you clip the apex for each corner, then progressively feed in more throttle once you’ve hit apex. Use the apex marker guides if you need to.

Trailbraking also helps. Brake deep and bleed off brakes while turning in. I run the Atenza with BB +2, TC 0 and ABS Weak. Works for me. It’s really stable in the sense that it rarely snaps on you, and you have control of the rear with a planted feel, at the cost of some understeer in an FR chassis.

Had a bash again at race C last night and I'm glad I did - ended up being a fantastic experience.

Qualified 10th in my sweet Aprilia Tuono liveried 911. Managed to avoid the carnage of the first 2 or 3 laps and found myself in 5th place, behind a German dude. I was pretty happy to follow said dude as his pace was pretty much identical to my own.

Four laps from the end I notice the leaders all pit and suddenly its me and The Dude in first and second and the stakes have went from not much at all to holy cow I could get my first win in weeks here.

With a little extra motivation I'm pushing The Dude but I can't get past him cleanly so I don't. I'm faster than him almost everywhere but I'm not about to ruin the best race I've had in ages by bumping him off for the hollow win.

Coming up on the last lap I now realise why I was faster than him - I had completely fudged the race by somehow burning all my fuel and I ran out just over half way round the final lap, going from 2nd and a potential win all the way down to 11th!

Dunno what happened, I stuck to the same strategy that worked for me previously - power map 1 down the main straight nad map 2 everywhere else. If I had stuck to 2 I'd have probably finished 2nd or 3rd.

Anyway, this has been your friendly neighbourhood idiot, who apparently has added the inability to count to 11 to his growing list of mental issues, over and out.

Tune in next week to find out if I forget where the gas pedal is.

i almost started singing 'Rappers Delight' by the Sugarhill Gang in my mind then :lol:

I went all out for a win in the Huracan last night which was a mistake but did make it the most exciting race of the week. I needed to make up a whole lap of fuel in the last 7 laps, whilst trying to fight for the lead at the same time, it absolutely slaughtered the tyres too.

Lap 4 starts at 6:15 and is one of the best battles I've had on the game, almost 2 full laps of side-by-side racing, desperate to take the lead but also trying to save fuel at the same time.

The Mercedes penalty at 14:45 is unbelievably harsh, apparently it was for pushing the Porsche off but it looks like it didn't even leave the track.

I've been trying that. It just seems like I have to really go far beyond slow to get that thing to turn. Maybe I just need to have a run in competition to see how it goes over a race. I'll give it a try, but even on that first long right hander (turn 3 I guess) it seems like I can't get near the power for most of the corner or it straightens out off the track no matter the steering. We'll see how it goes.

Do you go down into 1st gear at all? I started doing that in turn 10 and in turns 14-15 (last chicane) and I made big gains compared to doing them in 2nd gear. It felt much easier to control with the revs high through there, the low end torque makes it snap easily in 2nd while driving over curbs at low speeds.

1st gear through the final chicane definitely helped. Down to a 46.1 with optimal in the 45s but I'll leave it there. I don't know why I struggle with this combo so much. Gr.3 is normally my strongest!
Thanks again for the help :)

I just bought/downloaded Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition, anyone else have it? I see it has Laguna Seca. :D
I bought it new which was a mistake, it's great if you just want to drive but does have some big problems. Career mode is repetitive and some of the challenges are pretty much impossible on a controller. It took the developers years to add basic features (like changing button mapping on the controller) and the console version was always behind the PC when it came to updates. It felt like it was being run with minimum effort whilst the developers looked after the PC customers.

Anyone gonna be racing tonight? I’m debating on weather I should race in NA or EU? Or maybe start an Asian account? Though I probably won’t get a very good connection to the Asian server seeing as I’m on the farthest edge of the East coast that you can possibly get, other than Newfoundland. :)

Happy Friday Everyone!!
Asia B/C/D drivers are fairly free with dive bombs and bumps, very hard to get CRB. Not sure about the A's, don't see 'em too often as I'm a low B driver.
