Hey there, good to see @Qyn joining the MT brigade like me. Definitely a good week for it as a few mistakes at DTS don't go too amiss since the chicane and the hairpins tend to bite back enough to let you get back in the race some. Had a good couple of races the other night, but still don't get the people that can't pass when you're letting them by. Tried to signal people on straightaways to go inside and I'd let them go, but not slowing down until a slightly earlier brake point to ensure they zoom past. Nope, gotta bump anyway or can't wait till then. Oh well, still managed to get my SR back finally but somehow raised my DR over 17k for only the second time? Didn't think MT would help that much, or I need to bow to the gods of the Chicane of Death for the help. Did have a hiccup where I tried to signal a guy and accidentally hit a second button linked to downshift so ended up brake checking him. Didn't really hurt his race but felt like a right dip**** when I did it. Have since gotten rid of useless second Downshift.

Speaking of people trying out Manual shifting, I was an Auto pleb for like forever until I decided to try Manual in a game called Auto Modellista (a cel-shaded racing game from the 2000s made by Capcom out of all devs), then tried Manual in this very game, and finally making my stick shift gestures a reality in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5DX+ (WMMT is a long running arcade game series, at least in Asia/Oceania, where the manual shifting is through a clutchless physical H-pattern shifter).

Manual shifting is very beneficial in GTS, especially that you can short shift to save fuel than having to use the Fuel Map, or use both to amplify the amount of fuel saved...although the latter is only encouraged under extreme circumstances...

Two races on C in the Jag, 5th in the second race after getting a couple of bumps, the first was epic though!

Started 2nd, went down to 5th as the pit stoppers went through in the first few laps, one bins it in the death chicane - 4th, shortly after, another slow down in the death chicane and I just scrape between two cars on the run to the final corner, leader pits, up from 4th to 1st in about 20 seconds. I turn the fuel mix to 1 and try to make a gap, Veyron in 2nd doesn't keep pace but the Citroen in 3rd overtakes the Veyron and very much does keep pace. I switch back to fuel saving in case I need it at the end. Citroen gets a run on me out of the right hander at the end of sector 1 on lap 9 and I don't fight too hard. I stay in range then at the same point on lap 10 I go back to full fuel burn and max revs. I get a run through the death chicane and go to the right, which he blocks off so I dive to the left, braking at about 90m and going really wide! He's gone onto the grass on the inside and gets a slide, corrects and he understeers into me into the corner, I collect it and get my foot down on the outside kerb still ahead, he then straight drives into me, pushing me off, dust everywhere, back on, he crosses the line with me 0.9s behind, but he's landed himself a 2s penalty for pushing me off (and rightly so!)

I'd happily share the race if I knew the best way to do it (asking for help here guys!!)

That's the end of my racing this week though I think, weather is too nice so making plenty of the bank holiday. DR up to 45k and two tracks I get on with for B and C next week, A+ may be in the offing!

I saw this when I logged on today. Its a great time! You're top of my friends list and above Kie!

I'm a bit late to the Race C party, but this is where I'll be over the weekend.

Happy with that  That said, we all know he's capable of mid 44s around DTS.

I've tried the Aston at DTS. BB+2. 1:47.187. Maybe 40 laps.
Jumped in the Jaguar. BB+2 same wheel settings. 1:47.179 after 2 laps. To me it had better turn in and gave a bit more confidence through the chicane of death.

I was running BB-1 in the Vantage. I think? That, or neutral. But yeah, it is a little dicey through the chicane.

1-bar connection should be kicked on sight , i cant count how many races have been ruined because of guys who play on mcdonalds wifi
I am guilty of that from time to time.
We are a big family on the network and sometimes in the first lap my connection drops from five green bars to one red. I can't quit, that kills my score, but I try to fall behind and drive after the pack to stay out of the way.

Edit: moving soon, will use a cable from the router then.

Rain will make Daily Races Tricky.

Aww man, I absolutely adored that game, played it more than any other game at the time, so stoked when they announced a sequel a couple yrs back but it was rather unfortunately bobbins :banghead:

I don't know what this means. Satan's younger brother?

In both cars you get eaten alive in races though, they only work if you 100% mind your own business and play the long game, as soon as you try and race they lose too much momentum and pace unless on ideal lines.

Not for me. Everytime we have Gr. 4 at Red Bull Ring, the 4C is not great on 1 lap pace there, but in a race I can fly through the field because while their tires are falling off hard, mine are still great. Even wheel to wheel racing doesn't stop that little monster from flying and saving rubber

Some were those races where you're kicking yourself for not saving the replay. I've had too many of those

Head is definitely not in the game today. I did manage to trim my time slightly but no even close to my opt, maybe tomorrow....

I didn't know it was a game. I'd watched the anime, done by the same guys who did Initial D. Someone who worked at a game store gave me GT3 as a pre-owned, and that was my first racing game... I had bought the PS2 to play the anniversary release of Space Invaders, my first arcade game. I tried AT very briefly, but it never sat well with me using AT for a racing game. Switched the MT cause I got sick of how long it took to change down to get the car moving again after a crash . In GTS it's saved me many times being able to grab lower gears in Hail Mary attempts to stay on the track :scared:.

I saw 3 cars trying to fit through the chicane together and wanted no part of it, half throttle until a gap appeared:

Here is the full race. 10th on the grid, 17th after the lap 2 tap, 2nd at the finish:

This is the following race, I didn't like the look of the group, especially the Lamborghini so didn't participate in the first 5 laps.

7 wide? Jeeeeezus

Also, when you're running the Jag, are you in fuel map 1? I'm tempted to give it a try if I can get on tomorrow.
I think this was from 2015 at Pocono.

I run it in FM1, you need to short shift but the car has enough power that you're not really vulnerable to people overtaking you on the straights.

Works for me. The only thing I was struggling with last night was the straight line power of the Lexus, and Jag vs the NSX.

Holy hell, just noticed a post I made yesterday had the wrong picture posted.

This was the result of yesterday on my Euro account starting from the back.

Next week's races are up:

A- Tokyo Expressway - Central Outer Loop, N200

B- Suzuka, Gr. 4

C- Interlagos, Gr. 3

So what's a decent time for Suzuka and Interlagos so while I practice I know what to shoot for on Monday?

There is a special place in hell for the people who thought "hey, you know what? that narrow and awkward australian track would be great on racing games".

I heard Dale Earnhardt Jr talking one day about that track. He took his family in an RV on it while on vacation. He says he can't believe people drive supercars on it.

Of course he's NASCAR and only knows how to turn left :D

Last couple races of the day! NSX nonstop is a powerhouse!

What Fuel Map are you using?

Yeah, I really suck at that race. I won't be doing it again. I hate fuel-saving races. I like DT Gardens much more. I'm on to race A, now. 👍

Gr4, DT Gardens is a really fun combo.

Ha ha. According to GTS, I totally screwed this Japanese guy.

Anyone get a CRB star on Seaside this week?

One race yesterday, one today, I was penalty and warning free, stayed on track, etc... but no bonus. Not mad. Just wondering if I'm missing something.
