Few laps to improve daily B q time. 1:20.522 I think I can call it a week.
Would really like to have better front in the cars. Understeer just kills the thrill after few laps.

Maggiore might be fun next week, if the car is something half decent :)
And tokyo is a must try. Redbull ring is just, well, not my cup of tea...

OK, so I ventured out on Sardegna for the first time this week. I struggled with qualify and got a 1:25.xx in the Maclaren F1 with the BMW engine. Started as p14, got dive-bombed by p15 in the first turn. Carried on and solely by others mistakes I finished p8. That's as C/S.

Then my kid wanted me to run one on his account, D/D, I qualified at 1:25.xx in the Porsche, got p14 and solely because of other people's mistakes I ended up p5.
The track is growing on me. But man it's dirty out there.

Oh I got SR up on both. No penalties.

If you're talking about Charles, I have to say he's a great friend to have on the track. I've done hundreds of races with him and had zero problems (other than normal racing incidents). Might just be his connection even though he never lags, but I think he uses d-pad.
The only problem I've ever had with him, is that he drives too fast.

You might have your settings on your PS4 main account set to 'auto login' or something similar... so it doesn't give the option for other accounts. i've got 5 users set up on mine... 4 for me and 1 for my son 👍

Sussed it I think.

First race of the day was a decent one. New qt put me on pole. Had a few good competitors including @BenRod, the lead was passed around a bit but i got lucky and won out in the end. Ben beat me for best lap by just a hair though. Hope the rest of todays races have the same type of racers. I like to win, but i like good racing more...

Race two was another good one. Benrod was there again, we were out front and trading the lead till lap 4 when we got cought by the fast lap of the race. It was a three way battle from there but i got lucky and got away a bit in t1 last lap and they ended up fighting for second it seems so i got to take the checkers.

Wow. I just lost by .004 to benrod. Great racing my man, i hope the quality keeps up. The racing is awesome guys, good time to jump on

Check out these guys driving the Gr.3 Porsche around a rainy Red Bull Ring in real life. Looks pretty easy.

Those are GT3 RS road cars, not Gr. 3 cars  but it is interesting the lines they take through the wet corners to try to find grip. If you notice at 6:35 all the cars brake in a diagonal line for T1 to avoid the regular braking zone with all the rubber and oil pulled up by the rain.

Looks fake, according to PD all the red stuff is track too! Yet they do slow down before the corner, novel concept, wish more people would try that :) I did a race A this morning as somehow my timing is always off to get into race B this week. Most people didn't brake in time for corners, cause why would you, there's all this track beyond the lines to use... Yet there was one driver that the game had to ghost about 3 times per lap and he still left with a red B. Instead of kerbs, tracks should have spike strips along the edges  Despite yielding at least 5 times for incoming dive bombs I still did pretty well, top 5 from last with crb.

I'm looking forward to Tokyo, see all those suckers get wall penalties and slow down to a crawl on the straight :D 17x tire wear though, no stop is going to be tricky yet probably still better since the pit is in the middle of the long straight.

Three more for today.

The '08 cars are nice when running from the back/mid pack, as they're less affected by dirty air.

I decided to swap back to the RCF for race number three, though. The newer cars are much easier on the front tyres, without having to run more rear brake bias, than I like to.

Pay no attention to the stock livery in the photo. I was running my usual Wakos car.

Tonight I've had the severe misfortune of being one of the few B/S drivers in a pair of race Cs mostly of A/S and A+/S and was started near the back for both, and they have been the two dirtiest races I've been in in a long time.
I was punted off 5 times across the two races, and received two penalties from drivers purposefully tapping me then driving onto the grass, and coming back on in front of me. 2 of the puntings, my car wasn't reset so lost mountains of time dragging my car back to track. I've lost 1000 DR as a result of all this rubbish.
I didn't know a valid mode of defence was to drive incredible slowly and repeatedly braking (Spanish GT-R that then pushed me off when I finally managed to get alongside), or that a clean pass for them where I get punished is where I'm already on the apex and they haven't braked at all and have instead rocketed into my side and sent me flying in the far wall after having been launched over all the sand (a German SC430 with 3-bars of connection that had already pushed me off the first time I passed it, and punted me the second).
Thankfully for my 3rd race I'm with a few A/S and mostly B/S starting mid-table, so I should hopefully not die this time.

Edit* Yup, 3rd race redeemed itself. Mostly clean, some hairy moments with other drivers with lag and bad tyres. Went from 11th to 6th, had a good close race during the whole second half with a Czech GT-R and French NSX. Gained back the 1000 DR I had lost!

Today's top tip. Try the pit entry and exit during a qualifying session in order to make sure you don't hit the pit wall at 130mph in your first race.

One stop in Race C on medium tyres seems to give a total race time of 20:20 or so. Struggling to see a two stop being quicker?

I've been doing that all week, at Autopolis. I haven't set a quali time on my Canadian account. Every lap I run in practice, I practice the pit entry/exit. I know i need to brake at the orange barrier on a flying lap, so that doesn't need to be practiced.

Well, from DR C to DR D and almost back to C in three races. The first was meh, started p7, ended p8 but had door number 2 so lost a Lot of points.
The second was a downright disaster, spun three times got punted in t1 and ran of one time on my own too.
Down 2k to mid DR D.

Third, started p7, was p5 After first lap, had fastest first lap, worked my way up to p4 in the next lap, ended up p2.
Good race, p1 was a long way ahead of us all, but I am pleased to have run the last lap at 1:23:8, almost 2 seconds faster than my qualification

Do you always run races without qualifying? Is this common?

Well, I saved the replay. Apparently I need to start editing them too. I thought that the replay ended when the race did, but not. Why does it keep recording after the race?

So, here it is. The race is over after half the time. And racing in Jedi Racing livery. Man this car fly's down the straights
