Only managed to get a few laps in the fiat 500 as it's just too damn fast for me :p Here's my best lap all in 4th gear.. rapid racing!!!! :lol:

it could be super fun had that car another gear, in current status is like cutting grass with a lawnmower.

There is no defence against what happened to me in the race I just ran... had someone two cars back punt the car behind as I turned in at T1, pushed the guy behind me across my front. I got 5 seconds for "forcing another car off track" because I was last to touch him before he left tarmac, then another 5 seconds for hitting the wall. And that was NOT the most offensive punt I received in the game (but the biggest penalty). Lost surprisingly little DR but 11 SR in that race and it was zero my fault. Started P9, finished P10 after fighting from last to ninth and being sent to the back a second time.

Too much impatient torpedo right after the start of the race :( . The first (and second) corner of the RBR is a famous portal to the Shadow Realm :( . I ran only one race but survived it without flying off.

Got race A time to 1:12.260, super happy with that. Ran a couple races too for miles, got a 7th and a 3rd! Gifted 3rd by guy ghosting on the final straight but solid 4th anyway is really good for me. Sucks the only race I'm good at is the one where top speed is 70mph.
 
Stupidness. That's the word for my race just then. Tried the 86 and the handling is ridiculous. I was making up big chunks of time through the esses of the track. No joke. I had to hit the brakes with my closing speed.

However, penalties from the start and a couple due to just giving up being nice.
 
First race C this morning, started 10th, not qualifying is getting popular on Tokyo! Good race, finished 2nd despite getting ground into the wall a couple times in T1. A couple SR Downs from the usual from behind taps yet still a whole +2 SR for the race.

Next race, going well again but wrecked by the penalty zone

What discipline of racing has slow moving traffic in the middle of the race track...

Neutral SR, gaining SR on race C is nigh on impossible.

Last race for the morning, 3rd place finish with fastest lap. I got accused of punting though. I passed a Veyron cleanly but only had 1.1 sec lead onto the straight, not enough to pass with drafting but enough to force a side by side in T1. I avoided him there then returned the favor at the final corner. However he decided to block not leaving any out and thus got bumped. Not sure where he was going since the way he was about to take the corner doesn't work. SR Down for me, but luckily no penalty. Don't swerve in the braking zone, it should be a 'tool tip' while the race is loading.

+1 SR for the race, 94 now. About 15 more races to get back to 99 :lol:

Having created a profile, I stuck a YouTube profile up, too. I've put a vid of each race up. The first three are from replays. The fourth is from bumper cam of the race live. Which do people generally prefer? I think I need to do highlight videos rather than the whole thing as it can be a bit of a yawnfest after the first couple of laps.

For replayst I prefer the bumper (I also drive with this camera) and the chase camera - best view of the surrounding stuff :) .

These are the first two races, I skipped through the boring bits. Lots of ugliness, after rewatching them, I was definitely a little more aggressive than it felt like at the time. I’ll need to tone that down if I’m ever gonna get back to SR 99. :)

just took me 7 hours to watch that live stream intermittently throughout my working day. I laughed, i cried and then i was saddened that you didn't get chance to meet your nemesis in that 2nd race :crazy:
 
I hate all three races this week. The fiat isn't even as fast as we have had it before, i have a ghost thats a solid 2sec ahead of the best time. That said i gave it a quick go and put down a time i am not embarrassed by, but i can do much better i am sure, IF i can force myself back to it. Not gonna race, especially after what i have read the last two days, but will be focusing on running laps for both B and C to try and improve my race car driving. Gonna need it this saturday as my wife is gone on a girls weekend :D

Yeh good luck with that. I can do ok at BRB RBR, but my SR takes a hit. My best time at Tokyo was 2:21.xxx, and I was trying .. also trying not to hit the walls! I've done two Race Cs this week, both finishing ahead of where I started, despite not actually passing anyone, and both with clean race bonuses. They must have changed the track limit definition for Tokyo, because on the second race I grazed the wall 3 times, but still got the bonus :crazy:.
 
Is there a record for penalties?

Edit. I started from the back and finished 3rd. I was the first car he closed into the wall at the start.

I've not been on Race C myself this week, but they moved the penalty zone to there? That's a guaranteed disaster.
 
Brand new to this game, had it about 2 weeks. Glad to see I’m not the only one thinking this week has some crazy races. Been only playing race B, man off the start turns 1 and 2/3(depending on who you ask) seem to just be crazy dives.

I’m also rated way lower then you guys so I’m probably running into more guys that just don’t race clean in general.

Haha ya I’ve avoided that track, that track setup is just perfect to get plowed around. Might give it a go tonight.

I think my main problem is I play all week, then my buddies come use my account on the weekend and just murder my SR rating.
 
Had a go at Red Bull thunderdome last night again to see if things were improving. Sort of. More players means it was a bit better. Someone went too hard into turn 1 again, And caused a mess in front of me. I end up with 3 sec for not avoiding a ghosted car but actually had a good clean race after that, even got SR up? Second race had a total unguided missile blast from 16th through everyone at turn 1, then did it again at 2! Got a 1 second penalty after wiping out at least 6 cars! I had a 1 sec as well from the carnage and watched as they went deep into 3 and tok out another car, but with no penalty again! Guess who was the D/C rated driver in the B/A, B/S lobby? Still ended up finishing decent but after the first lap of destruction ended up down 17 SR!

Last go of the night, someone goes crazy into 1, sound familiar? Except this time they ghost out! No carnage, no penalties! We play on, I move up plenty, get a CRB and solid DR. Not too bad, my SR isn't geting as low as others, but taking a 17 hit for one race and getting 7 back for a CRB means I will be heading to the bottom soon.

I've actually had some decent races from the back. It's a real challenge on a track where overtaking can be tricky and the opportunity for penalties is so plentiful. I've been on the wrong end of some fairly average late braking filth but the dirty drivers have a tendency of finding other dirty drivers to fight with.

The temptation to go postal is very real at times.

Yeah. I have three different accounts that I can race with, and I only pay for 1 PSN subscription.
 
So I had a major episode a week or so ago where my SR and DR ranked right down to the basement. Now I’m stuck racing with the C and D drivers.

No other word to describe it. It’s literally mind blowing how bad and stupid people are. Like, I can’t believe there are that many people who buy a racing game, who are so clueless. My stats say I’m right at the community average right now....if THIS is what the average GT player is capable of, the Sport Mode doesn’t stand a chance in hell of maintaining itself over time. There’s no way in hell that the average CoD, or FIFA gamer is THIS bad. It’s like people picking up a NBA2K19 and not knowing that dribbling is an essential part of the sport. Even the people who try to be dirty do so in super low IQ ways, and usually screw themselves over more than the person they were trying to race against.

Also the penalty system continues to be a complete joke, getting massive penalties for minor incidental contact, while getting no penalty for launching people to the moon.

This is what the average person is like in the real world as well. I know someone who crashed their car while driving it home from the garage where it had just been repaired from the previous time they'd crashed it. Okay, they're probably below average skill rather than average, but it's easy to forget just how bad the average person is at pretty much anything compared to the best. E.g. think about the football team at school and how bad they'd have been if you'd picked people from the middle of the ability range rather than the top.
 
looking at having a go on race c for a change. Normally i go for the jaaag. Any idea if it is any good or is it lambo all the way?
