Aaaand these days are why we can't have nice things. 2 races at the Red Bull Thunderdome and on both it was a massacre at turn 1. First race I took a quiet start, guy in front went wide so I went normal racing line just as he lost it on the sausage kerb. Spins into me and I get 3 sec. After that I manage to recover a bit but have a ferrari determined to barge through. After a couple I just let him by and got to watch him spin himself out at the end of lap 4. Managed to actually gain DR finishing 5th where I started but lost 9 SR.

Stupidly had another go, same ferarri starting behind me this time, I take a measured line to be ready for chaos, not super slow, but not balls to the wall. Not fast enough for this guy as me hitting the apex means to him that I left him a lane, savage dive bomb, punt to the wall. I get 4 sec, he gets 1. I drive back to the track, and as I hit second gear with my fronts on the track in P10 I get RESET back to dead last behind 5 D/S drivers. Manage to pass several despite their attempts to cut me off but one guy is determined. Moves under braking, 3 times I get full alongside him at the turns and he turns in to push me off track so I have to back off or spin. Last two corners I'm ahead (his front bumper at my door) and he turns in again!! I get 1 sec, he gets ahead. Since I'm super grumpy I try to blast him at the end but since I normally drive clean I miss. Apparently since I'm B/S and all the drivers I had trouble with were D/S I guess it is my fault for being in the same race, but this is total Bull****. I am now back into B/A as I'm down into the 70's again. Don't know how I would get my SR salvaged this week. Might be a week off now.

On the plus side I got my qually down to 1:31.5 and again managed to leave 0.5 on the table at the second turn so there is hope to start ahead, but don't know how to salvage turn 1. I think it has to be tied with Monza for worst turn 1 in the game.

I just had a guy try to take me out, then I get the penalty for it, then he called me a homophobic slur after the race lol. Wow, tonight is so bad for racing. I reported him twice, one for interference and once for illicit comments. :lol:

Do the old tap car, tap wall. Give him a bunch of penalty time. Make the system work for you. 👍

These are the first two races, I skipped through the boring bits. Lots of ugliness, after rewatching them, I was definitely a little more aggressive than it felt like at the time. I’ll need to tone that down if I’m ever gonna get back to SR 99. :)

Haha, as you came out of the hairpin at the end of lap 1, every single car coming past the other way had a penalty. Beautiful :lol:
 
I never touched another car once in that race and still no CRB, must have clipped a wall some where along the lines I guess? Oh well, that’s it for me for tonight. :)

Most drivers are clean and you can pass anywhere, even under the bridge

SR.S is getting dirtier by the race. Last race was very aggressive again with more BS penalties. Pretty much the whole room had red ratings at the end and I'm starting to gain momentum towards SR.A, still at 93 though. Yet it only takes 2 BS penalties to drop to SR.A into the express elevator down :cheers:

Assuming we're talking mostly about Tokyo, the people getting roughed up must enjoy it, because they keep doing it. :lol:
I get a kick out of rough racing. I don't look for trouble, but I'm adept at dealing with those that do. :mischievous:

Yup, time to quit for me as my patience has run out. Last race the car in front of me hits the wall in the high speed right after the bridge. I saw it coming so I took an inside line to avoid him, however he bounced so hard he hit me into the inside wall anyway, spun out and I get 4 sec penalty. Then a laggy Brazilian punts me into the wall in T2 later on, I get a 5 sec wall penalty... He bumped me into the walls before so this time I didn't let it go and slowed us both down 5 positions or more. Thus he punted me so hard under the bridge I'm still spinning. He's off to SR.A, I lost 2 SR, 91 left.

Yep it's war all right and the penalty system happily stokes the fire. My best lap was only 0.1 sec slower than the winner, still a good race. And this is only GR.4, we've had GR.2 and GR.X on this track before :lol:

Two races at C, down from 97 to 71 SR. I think my PS4 is trying to protect me now, because it "network errored" when I tried to enter a third!

Any good races for repairing SR this week (or next)??? :scared:
 
Ah yes. I forgot that the Veyron Gr. 4 likes to understeer. You're basically driving a fast mountain :lol:

I was reminded of that when I understeered into a wall and had 2nd place hit me since they were right behind me. I won a lovely 5 second penalty. I fall down quite a few places, but with my Veyron friend, I was able to climb my back into 2nd place. :cool:

To be fair I do like the Red Bull Ring, I just have to get through turn 1 lap 1 and then it becomes a solid reasonably fun race. That first turn can put you in the midst of hell if you get screwed on your start either from your own mistake or someone else's. After that it is usually not too bad. But a couple of races starting like that become damage control and just make it quite hard to pull back through the ranks as you lose sooo many positions with a first lap penalty as opposed to anything after that.

Haven't got my qualifying time back up to scratch yet this time for some reason either so I'm not really helping myself there either.
 
All the races I have run this week on RBR has been predominantly clean. A few racing incidents, but safe in T1 every time. That's DR C, SR S in EMEA.
With the exception of yesterday's server issues I have been thoroughly enjoying every race and earned 5k DR while staying SR 99
 
Took the Aston for a spin around the RBR tonight (in Red Bull livery of course) and get a nice 12 for my door card number. Start in 6th, drop back to 11th after I over-braked to avoid a dive bombing Peugeot, then made my way back to 5th before getting spun in t1 by an aggressive BMW. Managed to pass him back and ended in 7th.

150 DR loss
 
Yep had slowly crawled my way back to A/S after months of only playing a couple days a week. Last week at autopolis was good for my dr but only got maybe half a dozen races in. This week was ok at first on the RBR and I was steadily gaining DR against A and A+ drivers.
But first race today one pretty fast but extremely dirty brazilian (nothing against any nation, just stating fact) slid into me giving me a 4 sec pen for getting tboned. He then proceeded to punt me a corner or 2 later, smashing me into and ruining 2 other perfectly clean drivers races. 3 more seconds for me. Finished the race right behind him which kinda ticked me off and obviously was demoted to A/A.
Next race in the badboy room, hes right there. I try and play it cool but end up passing him and he proceeds to start pushing and prodding, I can feel my sr deteriorating... I had enough eventually and simply guided him off track into the gravel. Of course I get the deserved 4 sec penalty and now frustrated make a couple runoff penalties...(no short cut penalties on this track, only for going a little long)
He catches up of course, 2 or 3 more incidents later and Im at B/C. 2 races and Im done.

At first i didnt think I cared but damn ive lost all interest in this game for the rest of the week. And that pisses me off, because I want to enjoy my game.
No point in trying to gain it back on A or B that would take ages.. And I simply dont enjoy tokyo east or gr4. particularly.
So I guess I wait until Le Sarthe to farm my sr back to the point where racing is enjoyable again.
I might actually get to join you guys on @Pigems lobby this saturday as the gf is having a girls night so im free to do whatever for once!

Only managed to get a few laps in the fiat 500 as it's just too damn fast for me :P Here's my best lap all in 4th gear.. rapid racing!!!! :lol:



I can imagine the online racing in this little tin can are a blast!! :cool:👍
 
Hi to all

I've raced 7 or 8 races at Tokyo in the last two days following the rule to change car everey race (NO lambo at the moment ..maybe saturday or sunday evening).
I won with the Mustang, NSX, F-Type and collected a 2nd place with the Corvette (after an intens "dogfight" I left the win to my opponent, the "penalty-system".. gave him a 2 secs for NORTHING at the last turn) and many position gained in the other races.
So I was very very lucky, only in one race i collected, after the 5th lap, a total of 15 sec :mad::irked::lol::mischievous: of penalty (loosing the podium) all the other races with no time penalty.
I have some suggestions for this race: MAKE a good TIME TRIAL and in the race WAIT and stay way from trouble.. you have 7 laps to go not only one turn ;)

The only race I managed yesterday before the servers spat me out (maybe my ISP? But others where affected too, I asked) I went from p11 to p3. The Maclaren F1 GTR can keep up with the Huracan and I find it more stable. So far I have only seen one other guy in one race drive it..
 
My alt is at 48 SR (from 47) after two C races in a row where I went from last to P5. Still haven't finished a race without a penalty, lap 1 is total chaos in the backfield. I would have been quite a bit higher if it weren't for bump drafting, every time someone's behind me on the long straight they try to bump draft me. I have to weave like crazy so that they just overtake me, instead of bumping me over and over again and sending my SR to hell. :grumpy: I do, however, think that this SR down for the car in front is a necessary evil, since some idiot brake checked me 4 times in one race yesterday...
