It's for Nations Cup. Round 5 will be using Gr. B cars on (likely) wet RBR.
I wish I could do some FIA races, but aren't they always on Wednesdays and Saturdays? If so, my work schedule won't allow it.
Maybe I could just get a new job. I don't really like the one I have, anyways. It's good money, but I fantasize about quitting almost every day I'm there.

Yup. Wednesdays and Saturdays. They changed the entry times, with the last Nations race starting at 8:20 PM PST and last Manu race starting at 9:40 PM PST.

Mine recycled from the Meme thread. :D

I love those cast iron sewing machine tables, they're solid, heavy and stable and have loads of character. :D

Racing rigs... here's mine.

That's where a shifter should be mounted!

...I'll do some hatch races later today, see how it goes. I'll probably pick some random car to try, all suggestions welcome.
I normally stick to the FR cars (Jag, Mercedes, Mustang, RC F etc.) but recently tried the NSX and was pleasantly surprised.

The GTO was the Godzilla of GT1, it’s a classic GT car and definitely deserves to be in the game. :)
I have play all the GT since the beginning and i never like this car maybe because one of my friend add one and im is favorite mechanics lolll , it was a Dodge Stelth turbo , the worst car i have worked on always broken

Sorry for the long post, I'm just frustrated.

Tsukuba last night, I'm the highest rank driver in the lobby at DR A (SR99) but in a race populated with DR B to DR D, and the full range of SR. Unusual I thought, but given the unsociable hour I guess there is only a small pool of players to matchmake from.

Anyway, start P2 behind a Spanish driver I've raced here before and I can trust to race fair. Looking forward to a good battle, but unfortunately I'm bumped wide at T1 by the guy behind. The wide line is ok in T1 it as gives you track position for the kink and then the inside to T2 so I can hold second place. Except of course our friend behind pushes me wide again in the hairpin to steal the position. Annoying.

Happily can retake the place by lap 3, with a clean pass to show him how it should be done, and then dodge the punt attempt at the next corner & watch him run off into the sand :) Feeling pretty good about this I set a couple of fastest laps whilst hunting down the Spaniard, but the race finished a lap too soon and I settled for 2nd place.

My frustration was that this lost me DR. Only a small amount admittedly, and I do understand how the DR system works. I just think that losing DR if you don't win promotes the "win at all costs" attitude, which makes online racing unpleasant.

I get that there are ways around this. Stop racing at stupid o'clock in the morning so matchmaking is better. Stop doing race A, it's too short to recover from "incidents". Stop caring so much about DR. Stop not winning. Blah blah blah......

Erm, ok, lost my train of thought. Rant over.

Edit: I see @GhostCaliber wrote about this exact issue just a few posts above. In which case, you've probably just wasted your time reading all my diatribe. Sorry!

I understand completely. Just finished 2 races at brands. Started 14th out of 15 first race, A+ on pole, 8 more A drivers, rest B. Do well to get to 10th but pick up a 0.5 for cutting Westfield to dodge a spin and get run back down by faster guys. Clean race, finish 13, lose a ton of DR. Next race about 7 B drivers, rest C. Start 6th, finish 3rd. Gain it all back. Such random matchmaking makes it confusing as I can gain more points sometimes having a blah race against C drivers and lose plenty finishing above my skill level in a tougher field. I guess eventually it works out.

I had to bail on my night though, wasn't super into it, just thought I would see how it goes but had a flash migraine at start of lap 2 on second race, which for me means nasty dizzy spells and trouble staying upright. Finished race well, but after a break in bed to recover I think I.am definitely done. Will post video tomorrow when I can edit it of a surprise cone attack. Middle of 2 wide battle, going through Hawthorne's I get launched. Land it and straighten out. Didn't seem to mess up other driver either so all good as he was going to get by sooner or later as I suck at the first half of the track. Time for dark night sleep

I agree about the races at Brands, got to try to avoid the chaos to do well but that's part of the fun for me. Also had two glitched starts, was even more chaotic. Will post some videos soon, mostly from the back running with my GTP account. Think I'll switch my accounts around though, still feels easier to drive on that one over my main even after months away, it's odd.

Sometimes it really doesn't matter how careful you are in trying to make progress. The bumpers, punters, blockers and rammers are going to do what they do. This first lap at Suzuka is fairly typical.

Whole race:

The very next race had way less incidents, resulting in the win from the back row. Now at over 20,000 DR but that's taken 25 races starting from the back. It's a great challenge though, and there is certainly more to see by way of action.

Love time trialing around Brands, but the races are horrible crash fests, even at SR.S. Every single position lost and gained last night was the result of either being punted off or other people in front crashing. It's not exactly racing. :irked:
In Brands, overtaking is not easy. That's probably why the other drivers are so aggressive. It went just like you. In almost every bend, there were smaller and larger impacts from the drivers behind me. Among them were a few crass divebombs. Most of the time it was impossible for me to drive my line and my speed. I constantly had to dodge and still there were bumps from all sides. It is this attitude to win at any price that destroys the race. Unfortunately, far too many players have this attitude. The extremely strong slipstream in GTS contributes to this. Because og this many drivers believe to be much faster than their frontman. They feel that they are being held back by the foreman and then they become aggressive.

Passing at Brands usually results from the driver you're chasing getting nervous about being chased and messing up his corner entry. You can then either slip under him or get better drive on the exit to pass on the straight or set up a pass in the next corner.
I've just driven two on Brands, the first one was start P4 finish P2 event free and clean race bonus. The second was start P10, get dive bombed by P12 in the entry to Druids (the hairpin) first lap which results in 4 cars colliding and two ghosting, allowing P13 and 14 to slide up to P9/10. This is followed by a further 3 car mishap at Surtees two corners later. Lost any DR gained in the first and some SR as well. I finished P11.

Doing some A races today.

Check out this clip of Sir-Lags-A-Lot in the white car. Eventually I had to divebomb pass him, because I couldn't take that 🤬 no more.

Next one was a good race with my buddy, @BenRod. It was the last lap, and I think the guy in front of him was holding him up. Notice what he does at :40. That's not the normal racing line. Obviously he was using his radar and saw me coming up on his left. He didn't swerve over to block or hit me. He gave me space to see if I could pull it off on the outside. He's a good guy. I assume this is what @Dairyworker is referring to when he talks about good racing with trustworthy people. 👍

Next race. Thanks for clearing a path for me, boys.

Good Lord! Sir Lags and the CRT twins were all at one bar in one race, and I really wanted to put on the Benny Hill theme.
Also, RK was obviously very frustrated with somebody.
You were right in that one post race chat, Uncle10 WAS getting beat up.

That was a good pass! I had gotten distracted because of a certain Pomeranian who thinks he owns our whole street and was going nuts over some kids walking by. Anybody want a free barking machine? (aka Savage Hairy Beast)

Doesn't look like anyone's posted next weeks races (sorry if I missed it):

Race A: Sardegna C - 6 Laps - N300 Provided Car
Race B: Mount Panorama - 3 laps - Gr.4
Race C: Tokyo East Outer Loop - 8 laps - Gr.3 ...... Tyres Heavy Wet/Intermediate

Looking forward to some race C fun (on my second account ).

Quite glad I'm away next week! Although C looks like it'll be 'fun'!

Yeah you'd be out of your mind to do race C on your main account. Good to see Mount Panarama again as well, feels like it's been a while.

Should be a fun week!

I'm glad to see Mt Panorama too. It's a public road when there's no racing on (with a 60Km/h speed limit) and I've done a lap in a car like the one in my avatar pic. Going up the hill in that it's not possible to exceed the speed limit and not necessary to use the brakes. Once you cross skyline it's not possible to corner without braking and almost suicidal to use the go pedal until you're on Conrod.
I think it could go four laps though...

Edit: no grid starts, all three listed as rolling start...

Agree that Race B would be nice with 4 laps. Especially after Brands this week and it’s 6m total race time + 8m wait time
Custom race @ Mt Panorama, 4 laps, Gr.4 in BMW M4 Gr.4, BoP for circuit, stock everything in setup, mediocre driver, 9:34.034 elapsed with 15 professional AI starting 11 on grid. Took 1st place just after skyline lap 2, best lap just over 2:18. That would put timeout a tad over 10 minutes, even allowing for track load, warmup, lobby chat etc. that's plenty of time for four laps.

They do quite a bit better with a slightly freer exhaust system and a Weber carby ;)....... just sayin.....
Mine had 2 adults and about 150kg of luggage when I did my lap...possibly would have done a little better with the roof off and just the driver ;)
When that was the current model, there was a company in Melbourne putting 1500 Corolla motors in them. They'd even put in the 2L Corona or Celica engine if you paid 'em enough.

Here's the two glitched start videos from yesterday.

Lots of carnage after the start too.

No more racing from the back for me now on this account unless it's a very tempting Race C combo. (Not next week's)

:gtplanet::cheers:

Race A: Sardegna C - 6 Laps - N300 Provided Car

I remember the Gr.3 races, being punted into oblivion at the final corner wasn't very fun. Maybe a more manageable race with an N300. N300 guess: 911 Turbo '81. Recent and not been used yet.

Race B: Mount Panorama - 3 laps - Gr.4

Too bad PD insist on using a low number of laps for Race B but I love the mountain so I'll let it slide. I expect the Megane to be popular again.

Race C: Tokyo East Outer Loop - 8 laps - Gr.3 ...... Tyres Heavy Wet/Intermediate

PD are finally entrusting us Daily Race crowd with rain and at Tokyo no less. Bye bye, SR.

I might sound negative but I'm looking forward to all 3. Looks like a fun week.

Hi Guys. My kudosprime stats suck. Ive never managed to surpass DR C. My SR rating has relatively been constant at an S. I've decided to get back into the dailies but its a mammoth of a task to find a race with clean drivers where I don't loose SR and DR due to dirty driving from other racers. I prefer not qualifying and starting from the back and working my way up the field. How on earth do you guys manage to build your ranking to get matched enter into the non Destruction Derby races.

Your DR gain is determined by your finishing position, not by how many people you pass. Qualify high and you don't need to do much passing to gain DR and because you're not trying to pass at every opportunity you're less likely to lose SR.
