My second online race. Started 11th, moved up to 5th. My region only seems to be Australia and Japan.

Anyway, good thing I did a 20minute race yesterday, at the longest version of Miyagami(?). As I moved up, I had a clean battle with an 86. Pitted early on lap 4(no tyre change) and came out ahead of the 86 and a TT I saw ahead at the start.

Managed my pace with fuel at 3, 0 TCS, brakes towards rear. Front tyres on my Gr4 Atenza were starting to wear, but I was able to keep ahead of the TT gaining. Mostly making time at this S turn at the bottom of a hill. Cars were going in too hot. So, I backed off by coasting and light braking, every lap.

Lapped traffic with 2 laps to go and instead of fighting, I gave room for the TT(on 2 lap fresher tyres) to pass on the inside of one of the left hand big corners. What's cool is, with tyre wear, I was able to keep higher speeds and the TT didn't drive away.

Last lap and I stayed cool. The TT being defensive in the last few corners. Last turn, I carried speed by keeping my turn wide. Coming out of the corner, flashing lights and all, I was right on the TT to the finish. TT ahead by 100ths of a second.

I leaned my fuel to 3 until everyone made their stops.

Is CSA the secret to the speed I'm missing? I've never tried it. Do all fast people use it?

i use it, my lap times aren't any faster in qualifying but my race pace is much better since i don't make many mistakes. but i could take it or leave it if PD suddenly decided to turn it off for online races

I imagine he's pissed off as after the second one he spun out
Yeah I figured that might be why

Another race and
eugh
I accidentally pit maneuvered another driver on the home straight :indiff: I was slowly turning to the inside and he kept following me, so I shifted to the outside. He shifted as well but I now have an overlap and bam he spun out. I don't think it's my fault this time, but I feel really guilty about it :nervous:

Time to race

Edit:

It was smelling on fantastic race, until pd gave me 10s award...

On 1:49 hr ghost became no ghost, contact hurting nobody happens and 10s from kaz

I lost my mind then and wanted to crush myself - not the others, it was and it would be fantastic fight if they didn't destroy my chances!

Race begins at 1:45:xx hrs, fatal is lap 7

No I mean the double cones

The double cones are a good guide, but unfortunately if you brake there you end up with people on here whining about the "guy in front with no race craft who brakes too early". Usually the ones who didn't bother to qualify. The other major drawback (since I use the cones ) is since they are physical entities, people can wipe them out. This caught me out in a big way at the second chicane at Monza. It hurt!

Finally I managed to win my battle against Brands Hatch. Too wiped out for the dailies today, but tomorrow I'm looking forward to more penalties and mayhem that is DR/D racing! I think my pre-race auto comment says it all. "We're on the road to oblivion!" (I'd have gone with "I am the chosen one! Mighty hand of vengeance sent to strike the unroadworthy!" post-race, but I doubt anyone would see the irony .)

Big Willows nice until, one wheel off track and off into the sunset i go. Been avoiding it so far today but getting bored of the other 2 dailies now so going to have to bite the bullet and give it a go.

It makes me a little sad that CSA is allowed in daily racing/FIA races, watching your car be saved multiple times with no input from you and little to no loss of speed is a little annoying.

Yes, Mach 1 Mustang! I assume the tires are SS. I'm glad they're using a muscle car, but am dreading that it's going to drive like a piece of ****.

It ca get twitchy when shifting during a turn but I'm probably shifting at the wrong time.

I was all set on racing the daily C last night, however the summer time change caught up with me. I fell asleep on the couch. Probably better than falling asleep behind the wheel. (or DS4 in my case) I've done that before in offline racing games... Nod off and jump back awake against a wall.

I did get plenty daily B races in earlier and managed to extend my clean streak to 15 for the fist time while racing hard. Starting in the top 5 certainly helped, that Renault worked well for me, 2 wins as well yesterday. I went up nearly 6K DR to 46.5k, close to my previous maximum.

Daily B looks rather boring today, I guess I'll go with A for short races. Hopefully I can stay awake tonight to race on Big Willow.

Race a mustang mach 1 3 laps no BoP
Race b gr4 same but backwards, pointless, 3 laps
Race c gr3 14 laps.

Ps thought id get it in quick.

No BOP?????????????????? (on A race??)

I love the Mustang at Blue Moon

By the way, it says 'Settings Adjustable' and 'BOP: Off' but you cannot change anything.
What?????? That´s kinda dirty.... to say the least... :(

The Quali for Yamagiwa yesterday got me crazy. Yamagiwa was one of my weaker tracks (don't know why) and i wanted to get to grips with it. But that damn double chicane! :D So many laps were destroyed there, i think i never had to do so many laps to get a laptime, which i'm satisfied with. Even on this lap,i did not nail the double chicane like it should.

Just don't look at the lapcount on the right :D

That is a great lap ! Really riding those curbs.

Is it the consensus that the fastest way to get trough turn one is t go really tight like that ? You do it also on the next fast turn.
I've been struggling with what approach to commit to.
I have seen some fast drivers take it wider and then go in to hit the late apex.

At first i went for the late apex in those turns too but my delta times showed that taking these corners tighter was the way to go...combined best sectors were good for a 1.38.713

I would like at least 5 laps on that one for sure. Loving the combo though, manged to get to within .200 of tenth in the leaderboard. Hope i can vet home from work early enough to run it a bunch more tonight.

I hope they have good tracks coming for the next few days with tbis car though. Old school muscle has always been my strong suit for some reason

I have previously made that mistake but usually now I use them as reference in qualifying, once I have my braking points in regards to the cones I try to learn to use something else as a reference

Yeah it was! Are you going to upload the replay?

I have it saved, I was going to make a half and half video showing the bad race and the good race. Maybe I’ll do that tomorrow

I did a first race on Big Willow and fell victim of a missing brake marker again. When will I learn not to use distance markers as reference points! I'll adjust the next lap yet in the heat of the moment with a car right behind, marker missing, brake too late, race over on Big Willow, go dancing through the dirt for 15 seconds.

And please PD stop spawning cars in the last turn!!! They look solid, they're pretty much stationary, I'm at full speed, do I swerve and possibly crash, pray I can glitch through them, so annoying.

Anyway I need to up my qualify time, starting 18th doesn't help with all the cars resetting in front of me. Next race in 3 minutes, guess I'll start 18th for another race :) I still made up 5 positions despite dancing in the dirt twice.

I’m down to 7K DR. Perhaps the biggest drop of my Sport Mode career. I keep getting matched up in grids with C-E class drivers (as a B). Not only is my DR struggling since the update. I keep getting abused by other drivers. It’s been like this since this week’s update. It’s not all that fair considering I was earning good DR after the previous update and had some clean streaks. What the hell is going on?
