My second online race. Started 11th, moved up to 5th. My region only seems to be Australia and Japan.
Anyway, good thing I did a 20minute race yesterday, at the longest version of Miyagami(?). As I moved up, I had a clean battle with an 86. Pitted early on lap 4(no tyre change) and came out ahead of the 86 and a TT I saw ahead at the start.
Managed my pace with fuel at 3, 0 TCS, brakes towards rear. Front tyres on my Gr4 Atenza were starting to wear, but I was able to keep ahead of the TT gaining. Mostly making time at this S turn at the bottom of a hill. Cars were going in too hot. So, I backed off by coasting and light braking, every lap.
Lapped traffic with 2 laps to go and instead of fighting, I gave room for the TT(on 2 lap fresher tyres) to pass on the inside of one of the left hand big corners. What's cool is, with tyre wear, I was able to keep higher speeds and the TT didn't drive away.
Last lap and I stayed cool. The TT being defensive in the last few corners. Last turn, I carried speed by keeping my turn wide. Coming out of the corner, flashing lights and all, I was right on the TT to the finish. TT ahead by 100ths of a second.
I leaned my fuel to 3 until everyone made their stops.
