Well had time for three online races two with the garage Renaults RS Sport and one with the Merc A45 so got my SR rating back up
to A.

First race was quite a good race, I qualified in fifth and then finished 3rd due to mistakes in front and the Mercedes race was a little
bit boring, started 8th and finished 4th but was by myself for most of the race until near the end when I almost caught third.

Had another go at Maggoire with the Renault but was too tired so saunted round at the back.

What's the best Gr 3 car for today's race at Willow Springs, I am thinking might be best to use the Huracan but not sure.

Good results and congrats on getting your SR up.. hopefully you can get to 99 soon.

I felt that (re: Dragon being a bit boring) after doing a qualifying lap in the A45... the track is too long for such a slow car, also as it is only a grid of 12 you will get lonely quite quickly.

Hate Willow Springs, personally so couldn't suggest a car.... will b A and B tonight for me.

B is a weird choice though.. we had group 4 Yama yesterday, why the same but backwards today?

Mixed bag at Kyoto this morning. An easy pole to win race, a 3rd on grid with a lovely clean fight for 1st (i missed out by 2 hundredths of a second!) And then came the bad one. 2nd on grid behind an M4. I was in a Vantage and got a fantastic run to the first corner and cleanly took it, no rubbing or forcing. I'm on the exit of turn 1 when the M4 deliberately forces me into the barrier giving me a penalty on the way. I catch up to him on lap 2 and again get a great run out of the fast right hand 180 before the esses only for once again as I'm level with him for him to force me into the barriers. Another penalty! If there's one thing I've learnt recently it's that virtually all M4 and FWD pilots are truly awful drivers and want the win at any cost.

Have you got CSA and TCS on? I'm sure someone said before that ASM slows down, CSA speed you up. But whatever you find enjoyable really :)👍
For me CSA helps me get at least 2/10ths on average with RWD cars. The extra stability doesn't necessarily mean faster cornering speeds, but instead allows you to take more aggressive lines that would otherwise be really hard without CSA. Honestly though it feels weird on a wheel. Oh well if it's faster it doesn't matter whether it's comfortable or not

I don't like the Dailies today... Moving over to Europe region I guess

Sucks mate, but pick yourself up and stick to driving properly. Cheats never prosper :)

Yeah, as I said: I use CSA weak, it definitely gives you a bit of 'get out of jail free' time, especially with TCS off...

I was watching some replays of the Renault at Lake yesterday, and the people using CSA could use kerbs so much more, and could get on the power so much earlier, even in a lower gear to me. I remember just gasping at the idea of going over the kerbs during the esses without needing to countersteer at all. Definitely varies per car but CSA certainly helps when going over bumps and kerbs a lot, and so CSA is a massive advantage at Lake when cutting is needed to be successful.

Yes. This is exactly what it does. And call me a hypocrite, because I don't like the system myself, but you'd find me using it all the time in Sport mode, but trust me. If it's not a catch-22 problem I wouldn't be using it (Case in point: lobbies)
While i'm reading this i'm thinking: Maybe i should've used CSA for Yamagiwa too for that double chicane :D
CSA helps a whole lot there. You can basically graze the curbs with your outer wheels and be stable just fine

It's CSA Strong for me, but to each their own :)

Yes I agree, I actually almost fell asleep during the race as drifted off at one corner but thanks to the gap it didn't affect me too much.

No idea why they put Yama in again today but I do like that track a lot so looking forward to that one, I really must remember to check
my CSA setting last night, I tried it with the Renault but wasn't entirely convinced I was doing better so let's see what tonight brings.

I thought Strong would suck too much power...

*changes to CSA Strong*

ASM is the devil!
Haha
How I understand CSA though is that it doesn't restrict any sort of power being put down; it all corrects the slides through steering, so no power loss :D

Haven't used ASM since GT5. It succs sooo much power :indiff:

Tried Race A today and boy was it fun! Haven't touched the new layout yet since I take a while to learn the track to a competitive level, so this is a first. I love the flow :D

I'm sue it felt slower on Strong... Weak makes the car feel a bit freer. Maybe I just need to get used to it... :)

Yeah I'm a fan of the Blue Moon layouts too... looking forward to A tonight

Works like a very effective TC... but won't let you simply go full throttle with no oversteer... very easy to spin the Renault last night, even with CSA on strong.

Just gives you a bit more leeway on steering angle/throttle ratio.

You don' thave to force it though; if you like it on Weak by all means go ahead :)
I know some very fast people (A/S levels) who use TC 2 despite the general consensus saying TC 0 is better, so it's down to personal preferences ;)

I will try it with the Genesis tonight... I think the problem is that I was using it as well as TCS on the Citroen... with TCS off, it will probably help :)

I could never get it right, but I found braking 10 yards earlier than the suggested braking line on the right hand side, and pulling hard onto the left I would drop down to around 84-85 mph, coast for around a second onto the right hand apex and hard out I can then go flat out up the hill. But really struggled at first

I never combined the two, so I'm not really sure how that works out. But hopefully it works out for you

Just had another go at Race A today... Started second, finished first. I thought I raced cleanly, but the polesitter might have seen something else. He messaged my PSN about how to race cleanly and reported my PSN ID. I reviewed the replay and took note 3 places of contact. I'm uploading the video right now and hopefully someone can help me figure out what I did wrong. Sorry to that guy :guilty:
EDIT: Here's the video

You mean the red thing on the screen that says BRAKE or the suggested spot on Circuit Experience?

Yeah I think that must be it... as I said, I will try it on Strong and TCS off in the Genesis tonight. Good thing is no tyre wear or fuel consumption, so hopefully less M4s :)

Is CSA the secret to the speed I'm missing? I've never tried it. Do all fast people use it?
Perhaps you will gain a few tenths :) it won't magically make you top 10, but will help. I'd probably use it on Weak (see above) as I guess you are using TCS in the Viper. But do some trials in qualifying...

Getting it quite right isn't the problem, i could drive the double chicane pretty constant and fast in the races but i wanted a 1.38,xxx for the qualilap and then it's just like a do or die corner. Nail it or bin it, that's pretty much the problem then.

1st one he swerves to block you on entry, then slides all over the place before getting back to the apex, but you do tap him on the exit - hardly much of an incident though.

2nd one you have an overlap and he moves down on you... there was room if he'd have stayed a bit wider.

Not something worth reporting anyone for.

That's a relief to know :)
