Yeah, I let the youngins get the corner entry because they'll be much quicker. 2nd gear pulls out of corners, are brilliant.

I was initaially surprised, how much of a gap I build to the car behind, out of the final corner.

I'm going to try the C9 later today. I think it's got the goods to crack 370km/h.

The chicanes change everything. I remember a while back when we had a no-chicane race at Lemans. The Hybrids were terrible cars to use at that race. Group C cars were dominant.

I'm not sure why PD don't switch it up and use the no-chicane track sometimes; at least it would be a different meta for once. Last time was back in January this year with Soft tyres. It hasn't been used once since.

The TS050 meta has sadly solidified itself in my memory since the last 4 Le Mans Gr.1 races have used the chicane.

1 morning Race A. Started 6th. Finished 4th. +300 DR. Blue SR.

Accidentally bumped a car in front on T2. Luckily they made a great save and got back in front of me. Was prepared to pull over but instead just followed that car all the way to the finish, past 2 other cars fighting and knocking each other off on the last lap. 👍

Only time for 1 race, this morning. Didn't have the 787B on my alt account, so I had to buy one and jack the livery from my main account.
While the speed is great, it definitely doesn't handle curves as well as the Porsche.
I stopped for gas after 3 laps, because of course I'm not gonna conserve with this car. Full power!
I got pretty good results, but like I said yesterday, all it takes is making fewer mistakes than the other guys.

After hundreds of Gr.1 races at Lemans, my best advice is when approaching braking zones, if close to another car, hang back and let them screw up, rather than pushing to get a nose on their inside. You'll be so much better off. :sly:

Yeah the 962C is definitely better for this race. I managed to beat an A+ driver twice earlier who was in the 962C however last race he had got to grips with the car and simply drafted me on the straight to conserve fuel while keeping up. I pitted in lap 4, couldn't shake him. He already managed to pass since the 962C corners better on the straight and thus gets faster out of the chicanes. Normally that only meant he got a bit beside me and the Mazda would go ahead again yet since we had a TS050 in front of us he had the pick of the draft so managed to get ahead and kept drafting the TS050. Well played.

After my pit I was behind a lone TS050. That thing has such ridiculous acceleration that combined with the worse cornering performance of the 787B I could only get right behind him just before the braking zone. The TS050 easily opens the gap to 1.5 sec right after the chicanes and Mulsanne and while catching up, the 787B is still not fast enough to catch them for a safe pass. (Side by side into Indianapolis is asking for trouble) The 962C can catch the TS050 on the straights since it gets faster through the chicanes.

Got to go, the track is polluted by TS050s anyway with the odd 908 and LM55 thrown in. Me and the A+ driver were the only ones in GR.C cars. He finished 3rd with a best lap of 3:27, you're welcome for the tow lol, I finished 7th, 3:28.0 best lap, didn't get a 3:27 this time. (out lap was faster but doesn't count) Need more fuel!

I think the Sauber Mercedes handles better than the Mazda. It will probably also need a fuel stop.
I haven't had a chance to try it yet, though. Have you?

@Sven Jurgens
Tonight I should be able to do enough entries to escape lower sr.
I did several last night from the back but tons of guys don’t qual and kamikaze.
Lap 1 strategy is pray for clean escape ASAP. Only managed it once couldn’t quite catch leader at the end after getting punted twice...
I actually like using fuel map on the Porsche as opposed to short shift.
Seems to me if people think it’s a slam dunk back to 99 they might be wrong.
So intense the speed and crashes!

Will it go the whole way in FM2, with normal shifting?

I wound the 962 up a few times during some laps to get away or pass really for me to make you just cant wind it up all the time downshifting at low revs helps as well

I was shifting at the mark on the tach in car.
Seemed to me fm3 is good for about the first 2.5 laps or so then unleash full power.
I should think fm2 wouldn’t be trouble especially with some draft. I dunno about automatic.
I’ve been starting in back but seems to me fm 3 is fine in beginning with cold tires anyways.
If you revout it’s very inefficient.
Last race last night I revved out the last 2 laps and almost caught but took a .5 that did me in finished 1.6 back. BUT we are talking low level rooms.
I gotta believe given the info on this car given by PD about dominating LeMans that it’s a good car.
Nice brakes and handling but I notice with these cars they don’t like trail brake much.
I was doing best braking straight and off brake on turn in. Very different from GT cars.

Maybe there should be a forum challenge for daily races.

Sort your cars by wins, pick the car that is last on the list, and then race that. After all, there was the discussion about variety. We can make it happen.

Exceptions can be made for VGT cars, because I hate using VGTs. I only have them because they were gifted. I would never waste the credits on those things. Hate hate hate

One of the weeks where people put a low 3:20 on the board with one car and then race the TS050 lapping more like 3:25s.

Definitely more TS050s than last time this combo was run a couple of months ago.

I felt like a change of pace from Race C so went to the Ring in the Ford GT. That ended up a bad idea. I bumped 3 cars off in 1 lap and racked up 9s of penalties. 1st was at Remus: lightly bumped him wide outside the track limits although he still ended up ahead. 2nd at Schlossgold into the sand and 3rd along Rauch who I lightly bumped but unfortunately, it was enough for him to spin.

People probably thought I was on a road rage and someone slowed down intentionally to avoid being close to me. Also got another 3s penalty from a ghost coming back on the track at Rindt. I had nowhere to go and bumped him off. Finished 9th and sent my apologies after the race. I think this would best describe my reaction.

Don't worry, that will be my first and last race on RBR this week, it's safe to go back now.

That TS050 is everywhere. Had some in my room who had the guts to try something different. What I want to say to those TS050-guys: for god sakes, don't try to punt me off because my Jag is slower out of the corners. Be patient and you can overtake me without a risk! Up until the straights huh because that is where you getting your behind whupped ;)

Getting geared up for learning the old Porsche around le mans today. My first few races were garbage last night, but 90pct my own fault. At least I did set my qualifying time in the Toyota I was racing. Although from the lack of pace you wouldn't have known it. Got passed by @05XR8 a couple of times in his 787, cleanly I might add. That Alpine is also a menace in the wrong hands. I think if I can figure out hot to not run off at Indianapolis my average of twice a race I will get some better racing in.

Also did some scrolling last night, actually got liveries to use now. Haven't made any worth sharing, trying to get there on working decals now.

Want to get some qualy times for all races tonight so in my first half hour slot I set about improving my Le Mans time in the Audi and am really pleased with what I've managed to get, almost into the 3:20s with an optimum of 20.4.

But decided to have a look at how someone who appeared near the top when Spa debuted managed to get high up in EMEA again. Watching the lap he's slower than me pretty much all the way around until...

This counts??!!

Oh geez. We gotta deal with this stuff again? :irked:
To be fair, this track's only been in the games for about 25 months. It takes a while to sort out the track track limits.

2 months ago when we had the same race, I posted a video showing how people cut the chicane to start their lap with more speed.
It was only for the purpose of showing whoever's in charge that something needs fixing..... Nope. Fell on deaf ears. :indiff:

Notice in my video, when you first try to do it with cones in place, it doesn't work. Then with the cones knocked out of the way, it works fine.
There were no cones for the guy in Ashthebash's video.

If they changed up the fuel consumption rate instead of just copy+paste from a month ago it'd be a different story. The TS050 is so dominant because it's the only one that's efficient enough to reliably do a no-stop while still be fast.
