Can anything keep up with the Peugeot in the group 3 race?
Tried a few cars always get passed down the long straight :\
Going to take out the Renault R.S.01 for the next race. [edit that Renault is too slow on the straight]
'Vette. 2 seconds off the pace from Top 10 :)

I encountered the person who was just 1 rank behind me on Race C today. (He qualified literally .001 slower than me)
Best race ever :D 2-wide at 130R is the best feeling ever (despite a 1-sec penalty and losing the battle)

Ended up staying well past my bedtime to try Suzuka with the Viper. No regrets. Took two races before I felt like I could crack into the 2:08 range. Problem was that my mediocre braking skills continue to hound me. Love to finish just one race without locking up the fronts and skidding wide once.

May try Suzuka later with the SLS. Brakes felt much better on it and snuck into the 8s rather quickly.

Posted this in the wrong thread. This was from my 3rd race yesterday. And there was me thinking I had it down.

Two clean races yesterday :) went for the 3rd then it all unfolded within a few laps (I even put my hazards on when I had a penalty, which didn’t help at all lol) I’ve lost less SR playing drunk

My lap times on Tokyo Circuit are not registered. Anyone else has the same issue? Strange.

Edit: It’s working again, all good

Another race at Suzuka, and it was pretty well organized until the third lap, where I made a slip-up and got relegated to third. First place then slips up and gets relegated to second. I overtake him immediately, only for him to squeeze in on a 1-inch gap and push me wide on the esses. He slipped up again, this time big time, and got last place. I got the win

Karma 🤬
Very impressive. Congrats

Quick question: Do u shift or use automatic transmission?

I ask because, although I'm on a DS4, I'm considering trying to use manual transmission to add a little immersion

Thanks! :) I use manual. It gives me more control to the car and is more immersive as well

Another question if u don't mind:

I just assumed u were a wheel user because u have 48 wins and I will have 48 races run before I have a SINGLE win

Are u on a wheel setup? If so, what do u use?

If u use the DS4, do u leave it default? I believe shifting is mapped to the X and square buttons (can't check as my daughter is racing now)

I don't mind at all :D

You are correct, I am a wheel user (G29). But don't get the idea that a steering wheel makes you faster. You can be just as fast with a DS4 :)

Before I had my G29, I used the DS4 for Project CARS. My gas and brake buttons were R2 and L2 respectively, and my shift up/down R1 and L1. If I were to play GTS with a DS4, I would use those same settings again since I feel like it's the most ergonomic control layout.

If you like, you can use motion steering as well. I haven't tried it yet but people are praising it all over. It must be doing something right if the majority likes it :)

I had a few times not registering and then just as I was starting manufacturers race, the connections all disappeared - back now and ready for next race !!

WTF i did a 2:06,654 on Suzuka but it won't upload to the leaderboards because my connection was lost for a moment :-(

But i have it on replay and will upload it later...

This game is stupid. Weird thing happened today.
I managed today race C qualy 2:10.7 in the Audi TT ( could have been 2:10.2 if all went well), but for some reason in the start list only showed 2:13.0, achieved with Cayman on some previous attempt. So instead of starting p3 I had to start p11. Had really frustrating first laps, being pushed around, then got disconnected
BTW I think I lost qualifying time mostly in the Degner corners, simply don't have balls to push harder there. I'm rather OK in the esses, but the spoon should be quicker too. The 130R I can take almost flat.
But still can't get how anyone could lap 2:07 ☺

Sounds like the servers are dodgy tonight, lots of issues with the FIA races as well (thankfully my Nations race was issue free).

I've seen a lot of cases today where their times wasn't uploaded properly. Like pirovac said, I guess give it some more time.

It's actually quite impressive that you can take the 130R almost flat out :D I have a 2:07 and still lift a lot there. I think the main time consumers is the whole of Suzuka East since the track's really open to interpretation yet has a small margin of error.

It's actually slower if you try to take 130R flat...because then you have to drive too aggressive over the curbs at the apex, it unsettles your car and you lose speed.

I often don't lift completely but go down to 1/3 or half throttle for a moment. Then i try to be super smooth to keep the speed up. You can see what i mean in my replay.

Here is the replay....man, that time would look good on the leaderboards :-D

OH boy, that is fast. I still don't get it. I driving my ass off for a 1:10, then watched the replay thinking I am doing the same. Only 4 sec. slower lol

Blatantly and repeatedly rammed off Suzuka today, I've never seen anything like it. Oddly enough his pace was actually quite good, and in the post race chat it wasn't just me who fell victim to his 'charms'.

Haha I feel you  maybe the key is his cornering speeds. He's the first person I've ever seen who carries 140km/h on the exit of Turn 2 at the esses (I do a measly 125km/h but I take the esses very differently from the norm)

Competitive out in Suzuka today. I'm on 2.12.708 and had to work hard for that quality time, Im in a race with all B/S and pole is 2.08.807 in an Atenza.
Im starting 10 on the grid ...

I got my best time with the McLaren 650 but I dont think that was the right car for the race. I did some mistakes and ended up 14. I will go in with the Atenza next ...

Tried Suzuka today, 1st lap clean, 2nd total carnage. People punting off the track on purpose left and right.

Take Chevy for manufacturers, the only Corvette on Dragon, soon to find out why.. Painfully slow, gears are just set up weirdly on gr4 BoP Corvette :(

Should stick to my trusty ol' Lambo

I had 2 rewarding races (DR-wise) at Suzuka race C in the Aston Martin; gained ~1600 DR points despite finishing 7th and 5th! The first race had a few drivers getting penalties so was able to gain positions when they were serving them. Re-qualified in between races and got 2:08.7xx which was good at the time as the Suzuka race had only been available to race for 30 minutes. The second race had the strongest lobby I'd seen for a long time; 4 or 5 DR-S and the remainer were DR-A (I was given door number 13 if you believe in the door number theory!). There were some faster drivers behind me, but one was fuel saving i.e. no pitstop (he won the race), and another was driving a 4wd Atenza so ran out of grip after a lap 2, so managed to hold position in 6th throughout the race. Caught and passed an M4 with no grip/tyres at the end to get 5th. Could have done one more race, but decided not to race anymore as more drivers were re-qualifying and putting in some crazy fast times.

Just to prove the world that I don't care about my ratings, I am gonna do race c in the Gr.4 McLaren. Wish me luck

I tried it. It’s a pretty car but no, not right for this track.

2.06.5xx ?

Oh man this is really crazy

With a 2.08.6xx I had a startposition P11 in a room with 14 S/S and 6 A/S Drivers. I lost 2 places and ended up 13. I lose to much time in the esses, at the other parts a can hold on to the others, but I simply have less feeling for the esses. No matter how often I watch the replays of the top ten guys, it doesnt help. I think I will either train Suzuka harder or leave it for a while at least in sportsmode

Last night on Suzuka, I tried the Genesis and RC F. Qualified 5th, but I pit in both races. Thought I would have got the hint, when I didn't need to change tyres.

The Genesis drives nice, but sounds high strung. Where as the RC F is so smooth. Smoother than my favorite Atenza.
