I´m done for that week with Race B and Race C.

Race B:

Could improve my Q-Time to 1.30.8xx. End of good news.

Racing was horrible. Painful. Annoying. Frustrating. This whole penalty system is... let´s save the time for the 1223th replay of that old song.

Race C:

I was looking forward for that! My first time Le Mans with GT! It was years ago I had fun with GT6 on it. And finally I can do it on the PS4.

Want to hear something? It sucks so badly I can´t find any words for it.
Used the Toyota TS050. Because I have sometimes something like a real life I was not able to finish one qualifying lap. So I started from the back.
Decided I would go for a non stop strategy which is working excellent with the Toyota. You can mostly drive it in Mode3 and switch later to Full Power in the last two laps.

I was thinking to accuse two nationalities for really bad behaviour in terms of sportmanship, but I´m from Germany. We had a bad history with blaming other countries for our misery.

Anyway, I decided not to race again in these races. RBR is killing the fun out of this game. And the chicanes at Le Mans are finally burying it.

The TS050 can be driven in FM1 the entire race, just short shift a bit for the first lap or two and then you can go flat the rest of the race. :)

How important is following the meta? I got a second place with my Corvette at DR D/SR C. Should I switch to Lambo?

Did 3 more races at RBR last night - and lo' and behold, I finished 2nd in one. Started that one 5th I believe and survive the puntfest in the first few corners, afterwards try to keep up with the leader but he finally pulls away for the last two laps. And after a couple of mistakes I had to defend my position even.

Anyways, still a good 13k DR at the moment.

Greatly looking forward to Laguna Seca. Its one of my favorite tracks in Project Cars 2 (which I have neglegted for quite a while now) and its awesome that its coming to GT Sport. Can't wait to race there.

Not important at all. If you can get decent results with the Corvette, stay with the Corvette.

Or give the Lambo a spin. For me, personally, the Lambo didn't work, as its way too twitchy and tailhappy for my taste. I use a RSR.

Dood, you are in DR/D , we drive whatever the 🤬 we want, cause at our level no one really has the skills or experience to take advantage of what makes the META, the META. On an all DR/D grid you will find a vast collection of different makes. When people get higher up into B then A/A+, the focus closes in on whatever weapon gives the greatest advantage. Enjoy the diversity while you can 👍. Well, ok, strictly speaking I'm DR/C, but that's just a temporary adventure which will no doubt be over in the next week :p.

Grid start n400 Nova. :)
Edit or f1500 oh yeah!
Trucks... :p

Not important. Drive what you enjoy driving and you lap well in.

@Invisigoth I'm not likely to make back that Q time difference at Race C, I suck in Gr.1 and only put up a time to see how slow I was. I'm actually not doing too catastrophically bad DR and SR wise at RBR so will mostly stay there all week.

2 races at Le Mans this morning. A day off and the kids went on their way this morning!

Im consistently lapping at 3:34-3:35. I’m attacking the first half of the track, but from Mulsanne on I’m still tentative, especially in the esses coming into the line.

I finished 4th (gained 6 spots), and 5th (gained 8 spots). No stopping helps, but I’m also making way less mistakes than the people who might run faster laps.

Ok... what in the world is a META?

"In the world of gaming, meta is used in two ways. Meta can be used as an acronym for “most effective tactics available,” and calling something “meta” means that it’s an effective way to achieve the goal of the game, whether it’s to beat other players or beat the game itself. Meta can also be short for metagame, which is using information about the game, derived from the world beyond the game or its rules, to influence the outcome of the game or gain a competitive edge."

"Metagame" can also refer to using resources outside the game to expand the possibilities of the game. A simple example would be to run a GTS online racing league that addresses racing series or genres not covered in the game. In some of the sandbox games with active modding communities like Minecraft, the possibilities are much more extreme.

The C9 is great for race C, I beat my 962C no stop time on my second attempt.

Not so great against a room full of TS050s as all the others
GtDECxQ.jpg

But caught up with @Voodoovaj who started 4th in the Jaguar.

Then matchmaking put me in a B/S room with a lot more variety. DR gains entirely at the whims of matchmaking lol.

I got a faster best lap in the 787B but overall faster race time in the C9. No CRB for this one, touched the wall once in the Porsche curves. I got it again in the 3rd race with the C9, but got punted once in Dunlop. Always a risk with mechanical brakes vs Hybrids. I still finished 5th in that one with similar race time as the first race up there.

Thou shall not escape GR.C mega speed!

I'm going to take the R92CP for a splash and dash spin tomorrow. See how fast that goes with the improved pit times. Then also the 962C for comparison with short shifting.
so you did a no stop with C9???? I was using 787 last night qualy time 3.22.787 did 5 races always started in top 5 finshed a couple of 2nd, 3rd 4th and a 6th (hit the stop fuel button by mistake had to come back in next lap) Love driving these older cars next up is the C9 any pointers ??

I did stop for fuel, having less than a lap left at the end of lap 3. No stopping the Mazda, Mercedes and Jag is too slow. I'm currently doing the splash and dash in the R92CP, I don't think it's faster than no stopping that one but it's close. Pit stop only adds 7 seconds.

Thank you guys for shedding some light on this! 👍

I just finished my race with the Merc. qualifying I was 5s slower than my R92CP time. I also used more fuel during the race.

I had really crappy race, so short report. Too depressing for a long report. For probably only the second time in 787 races, I experienced META syndrome. 18 on the grid and 14 Toyotas. Race fixing really 🤬 me up the arse with no lube this time. I'm a DR/D just visiting DR/C. There were 2, count them *2* DR/Cs on the grid, the rest DR/B. I knew the only way this was going to end was in tears :banghead:. I started P10... because of my time set with the 23.

Sure enough I was rammed into the sand at Dunlop on the first lap by a LM55, then battered around by TS050s at the first chicane. I ended up back in P15. After a lot more abuse I was coming into the runup to the final chicane, hit a car that unghosted as I was going through (it was blocking the track). That got me a 2s penalty, and I finished P15 instead of P13.

SR down 3, Dr down 580. I hate racing with DR/Bs .

Did 3 more Race B's early this morning, and still running for that border! :D

Sadly, race 3 wasn't so good. Started from 2nd, and got punted on the exit of the tight turn 3.....And a penalty for good measure! :( I fought back from 13th, back up to 8th by the flag!

I was up to B/A ratings, but now back to B/B after five wins on the bounce.... :(

So Lemans has been in other games in the GT series right?
Times on my friends list look insane. I did 2 somewhat clean laps in the Porsche for a 3:26 best and I am waaay down there...
Seems like Nord a bit in that experience is playing a role. The tracks not easy to me either, saw a few comments about it being easy.
Are you kidding me? Lol. I’m not gonna even bother hotlapping it I would obviously get destroyed on main. Besides racing it is a more fun way to improve...
I dunno, someone else mentioned dailies getting more aggressive...I haven’t run main in a while but I definitely toned down entries on main because of this. Too many alt accounts.
If you can’t beat em join em.
Also, I reccomend punting anyone running a blame...so and so prefix.
They suck.

Man my driving has improved massively in the last 2 weeks. when i was testing abs settings i started focusing alot on my braking and throttle inputs. now i can pretty much drive any gr 3 car and not spin because i know how to be smooth. my DR is the highest it has been since i got a wheel. just under 23k. it feels like with the way i have been driving i could make a run for DR A. i have also been following cars closely and adjusting my braking to stay close without tapping. i have been able to adjust my lines better for overtakes and switch backs. been able to do low-mid 1:31s in pretty much every car i have tried for race b. its like something clicked and i get how to race now? :boggled::odd:

I've had those moments. A recent one was after doing a TT entry which required counter steering assist to be off. Suddenly I find I don't need it anymore and bonus - for me it seems like counter steer assist affects drive out of corners as much as TCS does, suddenly I'm launching out of corners instead of struggling out - and doing it with easy self recovery of any slips rather than hoping the CSA does it for me.

I got my fastest race time yet with the R92CP splash 'n dash, fastest lap as well.

I figured pitting in lap 4 gives me the best chance for a fast lap and lowest avg fuel weight for the race. It worked.

Next up, 962C splash 'n dash. See if I can go faster with that one. One stop in the R92CP is definitely faster now than no stop.

Thx I love breaking up those T50 in the top 5 by having the lone 787/c9/JAG/R92 up there . Much more fun driving / wrestling these cars around the track. The T50 almost feels like a self driving car very little for the driver to do just keep it on the track and you will probably get a good finish
