dial the breaking points back and be quicker out of that corner instead... the penny drops!

This is the realisation I made last night, and immediately too half a second off my previous PB at la Sarthe. It wasn't a great lap, either. OK, in terms of time, it was great for me. But it felt messy, with more than a couple of mistakes.

Had a fun morning racing the 962. Saw @Sven Jurgens in every race. He was doing pretty good coming up from the back. I am slowly improving at this race car driving thing lol. Was a bit better result for me each race, and faster lap times also. Still making lots of little mistakes but i am officially hooked. A couple clips i want to share but must do it later, not enough time for that now. This couldn't wait though. I knew when we were side by side this pic needed to be taken.... great morning, and great to share the track with you sir, for briefe moments lol

Awesome picture, frame worthy!

I did a couple more races but so far haven't been able to beat my splash 'n dash time. I came close and with adjustment for lap 1 time maybe (need to go over the numbers) Time to experiment with fm2, see if that helps. Traffic hasn't been cooperating either though, I dropped to 88 SR and got in the chaos room. The advantage of splash 'n dash is, getting back out behind a car to draft and easier to catch the draft. No stop must be faster over all, one more attempt before the kids come home.

Lol 88 sr chaos room. How many points is sr B?
That’s 2 steps up from where I began last night at D.
Getting back to s takes time.
Brake for hairpin and slow and don’t turn in until the car a quarter mile back shoots through into the wall at 200 mph. Then it’s safe.
Last night in one caught the Brazilian in third before Indianapolis lap five. I tucked in and he lifted and I lifted more then feigned an inside attack
He tried to escape as I was braking and visited Hasselhoff by himself.
Lol it was like a combination of a game of chicken and Charles Barkley getting an offensive rebound and throwing up a couple pump fakes before jamming it.

And it's on YouTube so you can replay it until it stops being funny. Hopefully never

I agree. I would have driven the Viper more earlier in my time on the game if it hadn't suffered from being nerfed. I still feel like it's being nerfed, but I've been able to make it work these last few months.

After the last Gr. 4 week at RBR, I swore that I would only take my alt account there. I'll probably use my main, but I won't run as many races there. My ratings got pummeled during the Gr. 4 week.

Is all of this official somewhere?
In the gtp news wire
https://www.gtplanet.net/

Everyone should just use the Group C cars.

Oh well, last attempt ruined by a dirty blocking Brazilian swerving like a lunatic and barge passing through Arnage. I taught him a good lesson. He left to SR.A, I'm down to 93 SR, still in the fast room.

So the best I've done so far in a no stop is
J6UGZfb.jpg

Race time of 17:48.139 compared to 17:43.108 splash 'n dash. The first lap in this attempt was 4.2 seconds slower due to traffic. Even after adjustments, splash 'n dash is still ahead. I did arrive on fumes, could have been 0.5 faster last lap. Still too close to call.

I'll try again later with FM2 in the first and last sector.

Yeah, you'd be a good example.
I know you stay at 99 SR, and most of the time, I'm racing with a 90-99 SR.
I'm pretty sure I'd only need 1 hand to count the number of times I've seen you in a Sport Mode race.
I know right haha.
Nowadays, I'm either going full tryhard on the FIA practice and actual lobbies, or I'm doing god-knows-what somewhere else.

That, and I'm just not digging these recycled Daily Races.

Same here, I’ve been trying to focus more on the FIA races lately as well. Plus with the new WRS race series I’m running and the Friday night lobby, it doesn’t leave me much time for doing Daily Races anymore. I haven’t set a Q time for all three races in weeks now, lately I just pick the one I like the best. Even though they’re mostly repeats now, I still miss them sometimes. When I do jump into one now I barely recognize any of the names anymore, I miss being able to jump into a race and instantly get paired up with all you guys. :)

The weather turned nasty quick, back inside, back to racing :) However the schools are out now.

Maybe it's better to go back to splash 'n dash, more speed to quickly clear the early mess.

Need more speed!

i just bought the xj9 so i can do a splash and dash with all 5 group c cars. just drove the 962 and it was a treat to drive. i still dont know how i feel about the jags wheel covers though :/

I ran the Jaaaaag last night in all my race C races but I did run rbr in an f type because I missed the 7pm race by like 30 seconds ran a 30.015 for qualifying started midfield and finished 5th I think, lots of carnage I managed to avoid and didn't get dive bombed at any of the big braking zones and left with a blue S, great success.

I had forgotten how good the XJR sounded until I put my headphones on, ran 6 glorious races listening to that V12 even managed a fastest lap in one race 3.24.4. finished 4th in one race, best lap on a no stop was 3.26 on the last lap and did a 3.23.7 with a pitstop.

I'm not all that fussed about my dr anymore it's sitting just below 40k atm but I'm having more fun racing from the back in different cars, especially this week with the group C cars.

I was thrilled to see you in my race tonight.. that pole i only gained with a better QF time about 10 minutes before, so i was wary that i'd probably make a mistake somewhere and get dragged into the mix of scrapping for position. As it turned out i was clean as a whistle and every lap was within half a second of each other until i got out of shape a little on the last chicane and trundled through the sand to the finish.
I was looking out for you and i think you got to P8 after 2 laps and then chipped away at a position per lap after that.
Like i said in post chat thought, i'm thoroughly ashamed of my vehicle that i raced in :O:lol:

It was funny when I am busy tracking down a hybrid while at full throttle in my 962 and your jag ripped by like I was parked.
Got some crazy matchmaking again this morning. Lots of B and C SR drivers.:nervous:

Downforce cars + DS4 = ****ing hard.

Don't know why but the car pulls hard to the right on the brakes into the first chicane and Arnage. If I brake at the cones I won't make the corner. The fastest times brake after the cones and make it comfortably. Trying to replicate the lines of the fast laps is hilariously annoying. 3:22 remains my limit. I'm 5 seconds a lap off in the high downforce cars. 1.5 secs per min. Don't know what I'm doing wrong but it's something a) obvious and b) stupid.

You should be ashamed! Great to meet you, although I never saw you on the track

I think it's time to admit that one stop is actually faster than no stop this week. It only took me 3 tries to dial in the 962C and set a good target one stop time. About 10 races later trying to better it with fuel saving and still no success. In my last attempt I was drafting another 962C for the first few laps in fm2 to save up fuel, didn't help. No stop I can do 3:28 at best (more often mid 3:29 to low 3:30 laps) vs 3:26 with a stop. 5x2 sec is more time lost than one quick pit stop.

Perhaps with a unicorn configuration of traffic so I always have cars lined up to draft pass on the straights it might work, however going full out it's easier to catch the draft of those pesky sprinter Toyotas and after the stop, they are there again to draft pass again.

Since going flat out is more fun as well, no more fuel saving for me this week. GR.C party time :gtpflag:

I did do a pitstop in that race and changed tyres. That was the race I got the fastest lap on the last lap. Think I overtook you both before and after the pitstop on the run to the first chicane and yeah both times I nailed terte rouge

so i am pretty much addicted to race c now. i wish i could use my shifter but i just pretend that the group c cars were upgraded to paddle shift to battle hybrids lol.

Can't say I blame you. If I was A+, I would probably avoid the dailies.
There are some A+ drivers that start an alt account for use in the dailies, because they still have fun doing them, but then before they know it they've got an A+ alt account too, because obviously they're really good. I know of a fella with 3 A+ accounts. He drops by this thread once in a while. ;)

I love that Sven's an A+ driver who doesn't hesitate to choose fun over DR.

Just give me a fun combination, and you'll see me drop by quite a bit haha.
I don't mind donating some DR. At this point, I have enough to still be in top split FIA races if I lose a few thousand DR.
And just like that, I sound like a 🤬 jerk.

How much is generally needed for top split?

Yeah, I am still iffy on tertre rouge. You did blast by me both times. My consistency seems to be crap in faster races for some reason. Did 2 races this morning where ignoring lap 1 I had 3 laps at 3:29 each race. Switch and put me with A drivers and for some reason I can't brake for the chicane at dunlop right and tank it at indy once each race.

Need more practice. Looking for a way to git gud in honor of @Invisigoth

I’m going CRB Hunting! :D I only have two Gr1 cars on my Alt though, so I’ll switch between the TS050 and the Porsche 926C, starting with the Porsche. :)

Not bad for a fuel saving No Stop, had a couple nice battles along the way too. Gonna go full out and stop for a sip in the next one. :)

I’m going sr hunting.
Tonight’s focus will be getting back to s...
After one race crb bonus sits at 2, still B and B on mr alt.
962 is good fuel map 3:and the going full coming out of the Indianapolis part lap 2.
With caveat, shift at the point on the tach! Any more and fuel burns rapidly...
