First race since start of the week
EKk34rqVAAEjeRk

Awesome race with 1st and 2nd place, after the pole sitter misjudged T1. We left everyone behind.

0.98 separated 1st & 2nd, I was .5 behind leader.

Next week's combos are up, Gr.4 Autopolis, provided car, likely the FF set, Gr.3 at Interlagos, and N200 one-make at the Nordschleife, grid start with false start, fuel X3, tyres x5. Could be an interesting new car, or more likely the new Toyota 86 from this week's update.

A: PD still aren't satisfied after using this same combo 4 times already so 5th time it is... You're probably right that it'll be FF cars again. I'd like to see a different selection of Gr.4s for once like the RCF, Viper, V8 and F-Type but that's pushing the boat out too far.

B: Diverse grids and Gr.3 so will probably be the one I race on most.

C: Technically a new combo. No previous N200 race to my knowledge. N200: almost definitely the new 86. Grid start will be hilarious.

Didn't they have autopolis last week, and i think interlagos was quite recent too (tho maybe a time trial).

Nope, Autopolis was the week before. Interlagos is kinda recent: last used October with Gr.4 and Gr.3 in September.

@sturk0167 thought I might see you as I step on for a race or 2 while i have a break, but no, i am starting behind someone named shakeandbake! Oh so close.

And as one of only 2 non hybrids in the top 10 it was a good race. Held 3rd until I went full stupid and got some track limit penalties that let a couple catch at the start of lap 4. Had a good race with them until I butchered the chicanes at the front stretch. But plenty of clean racing and no hopeless blocking. Was lonely in the group c though. Everyone else was a hybrid in front.

It was the hybrid of times all day long. This was the second race I tried. I was bouncing around that 5th all race but having a good bit of back and forth. Fantastic clean racing and making the most of our different cars. Now if I can stop getting track limit penalties around twice a race I'll be able to really push those pesky little gnats behind a bit more. And I have to say that this thing was definitely starting to pull right under braking. Even switched controllers between races to make sure it wasn't that.

Today is Sr hell racing from the back. Been punted down to A and low s. Mainly from 1 guy who hit me at mulsanne and then absolutely caved me in on the way around Indianapolis came from way back and hit me dead in the side but somehow I got the 5s penalty
I haven't been hit as hard but running into the same problem. Getting stuck around 1 psycho each race determined to prevent any attempt to pass. Blocking on the straight when I have a full head of steam, trying to push me wide when they accelerate put of a corner. Then when I get the penalties I see them doing it to others. No outright killer punts but enough abuse to ruin anyone near them as both times we are coming out red S and he has a blue one. :banghead:
Might have to pull a @Groundfish and honor a contract. Last race if I could have caught the 🤬 I made peace with me doing it.

Edit: Had @manion in the next race. I would complain about how I did, but other than getting airborne from a phantom cone I didn't have any problems with other drivers. And even had 2 laps as we had an all Group C pack, first lap with a 787, then as they pitted another 962 exited the pits between. I wasn't going to catch the big cat on the straight but I did manage to put away the other porsche. Bonus points for jumping a cone that isn't there?

So after a couple of weeks I started to play GTsport again. Very nice fair fights with some Germans. Thank you for that.

Then this typical Gran Turismo™SPORT 'thing' happend:

Nice, overtake... Please give back your position! 🤬:banghead:

What really happend;

Can they ban these horrible orange cones? :banghead:🤬

Some notes:
  • Yellow flags are waved a way more early in the replay. Before the corner (replay), mid-corner (gameplay).
  • Cones disappear in the replay.

I don't know about your case but in mine there isn't even a cone in the video capture! I couldn't figure out how I got launched even though I knew I had cut the corner too tight. It is up to you to turn cones off for yourself. I keep mine on despite the issues.

I'm sure also you jumped over a cone. As you can see in the first video, the cones disappear in replays. In the second video, you can see the cone flying under my car. In your corner, Tetre Rouge, there is a cone in the inside, which isn't visible in your replay screenshot. Disabeling cones is only availble in single player. In Sport-mode they are always there.

I was chasing down the car in front in our race but hit one of the green bollards on the last lap and sent me off the road at tetre rouge

I can sort out video later but someone wiped out the cone lap 1 in my race. On the video capture, not replay, the cone isn't there but I am launched anyway. I double checked both before bothering with the screen shot. It still reacted identically to hitting a cone, although in my case I got launched into the wall and a reset costing 8 spots. Still a cool jump though. And like your livery.

@manion I wondered how I caught up more than the pit stop.

Can confirm cone was gone on lap 1

Ah. My fault then :ouch:. But it looks really weird. I would love to see the video. It is just suddenly a jump into the sky?

Funny it happens just before the long straights, so you lose out a lot of speed and places. Certainly in lap 1.

So with the discussion about utilising hybrid energy across the LMP1s, I decided to have a crack at the brake bias method of generating energy in the R18. Chucked it up to 2 towards the rear from my usual neutral standpoint and took 1.5 sec off my best time first lap out.

Did the same. Took half a second over 20 minutes. But that was more of me finding better corners with the new setup, I think. Oh and some extra battery into Porsche

Abs weak is working great on the 962, able to make moves at end of straights if you get into position...

This reminds me, has anyone else noticed a little more front end lock under braking? I am finding that the brake balance has more effect on the braking. I had the Lambo on -3 before the update, but that's WAY too much front braking now.

It seems to be more of an issue online. Offline doesn't seem that different.

Something has definitely changed since the update, I haven’t figured out what yet though. It’s hard to pinpoint, but the braking definitely does feel a bit different.

It's Saturday, dirty blocking, swerving, barge passing, I just quit a race, back to livery editing. Not worth driving with these idiots. 2 BS penalties in a row, more SR Downs, I guess I'm going to drive in the lower SR ranges today.

Yep down to 69 SR (from 99) in 2 laps. It's the weekend.

I wish I read this half an hour ago lol.

Decided to do a quick race at RBR on my B account. Got dive-bombed on the way to T3 , almost avoided the guy but they still clipped me as they flew off track.

3 second penalty. All I could do was laugh

Had a fun moment with the same group of people on Race A yesterday morning. One of the guys always went for the outside line in Turn 1 so I switch place with him for inside line. But this time he was a bit conservative and I took the inside spot with a perfect late braking.

After the race he tells me to relax it's only the first corner. In my mind everthing was ok, didn't touch anyone. I look at the replay today and I do look like a madman from his point of view. Take a look!

I'm the red and he is the gray car.

I can see why he says that. But there was no dive-bombing and you hardly touched so he needs to close the door earlier if he doesn't want this to happen. IMHO.

Every position I lost this week at Tsukuba was on T1. Just like in your video.

As long as the car that passes can maintain pace to recover that spot I'm OK with that.

No guts, no glory. I got no guts.
