The only tracks I don't have all gold done are Nordschleife (which may never happen), Bathurst (the twisty bits kill me), St. Croix (just never drove there much) and I think the Sardegna too. I've been playing non-sport mode lately so hopefully I tackle a couple of those soon. I think I have bronze on all but 1 or 2 sectors overall, silver maybe a 1/3 of what's left. I'll double check and post the hard digits if I remember when I play again.

You need to visit @Mistah_MCA in YouTube, his lap guides are the best investment in track knowledge you can do IMHO. A few minutes watching his videos will get you gold, easy.

Took the old 962 out for a run tonight but wasn't really feeling it. Didn't seem too different from before. Was cautious the first couple of laps on what I had heard before but was able to plant it back on all my usual brake points. Wasn't super fast but oh well. Took a couple hot laps as well and was right at my QT from the Toyota so at least that one seems to have the speed still. I did notice if I didn't have it dead straight perfect when I hit full brakes it did want to kick out the rear more than before though. Couldn't be bothered sticking around but all seemed ok there. Will wait to see how.it.goes for you guys tomorrow though. Did have a known no qualify guy tear it up from the back in the porsche climbing from 14th to 5th as well so if it is changed it isn't totally nerfed.

Went to La Sarthe for a couple of races and both times just had no grip. Really weird. First race I led around the lap until the final chicane and the car just went straight on, literally completely missed the chicane and had to cut it (never gone off like that before except for trying to take it too quick!), from then on everything was like driving on knackered tyres. The second race very similar, out of nowhere the car doesn't slow down for the corner and I struggle around the rest of the race. Fastest laps about 1.5s a lap off what I'd usually do in a race and fastest overall time was over 10s off a fair run.

Strange. No more races this morning!

No more dailies for me this week. Tonight it will be trying to turn my bronzes into silvers against Paris Hilton.. golds are just never gunna happen. Sat is @Pigems lobby and Sunday will be karting, by which time I will be all raced out for the week . Hope next weeks races provide better matching ... kinda sick of being one of only a few DR/Cs with the rest of the grid Bs, As and A+s. I feel violated after every race .

I have to.admit I wondered how you were getting on when I kept getting such random lobbies this week. I know how annoying it is when you can almost see some if those gaps at the matchmaking screen. Had my 1 race earlier and 9th on the grid was a D/B driver with 25 seconds gap to 8th. Been that guy as well. There is no reason they should be punched into that lobby at prime time. Have fun in the lobbies, I would rather be there than working this weekend.

I suspect that the reports of decreased grip has to do with lag, since it seems to vary so wildly.

Doing race B this week, mostly because Gr.3 cars are what I like the most. Finished a couple of good races last night but then some hard fighting door banging action took place and it costed me a lot of SR (95 to 66) Will have to recover the S rank racing conservatively tonight and tomorrow morning before the FIA race.
Anyway, here´s a replay of a race I really enjoyed. Hard fought but always clean, don´t know if the guy driving the Lambo is on this forum, but if he is I would like to congratulate him 👍

I’m also doing SR rating repair this morning at Tsukuba. Seems to be a quick way. I just wish it went off every 15 minutes instead of every 20.

My trip from SR S to SR C was combination of getting punted was in races B/C and a bunch of track limit penalties as I was learning La Sarthe. Sometimes at the both time, haha. I got a bunch of track limits because I was trying to miss people who were losing their **** and/or braking at random points in the twisty bits.

Hadn't managed to get online for any racing this week, which is a shame as they're combos I like, even if they are repeated. Got home last night having forgotten how long it takes to copy the whole game for an update!!!

Still had time for one race, so went for a C in the Jag, did some practice laps, but went through the pits to avoid setting a time, and started in 20th, with a surprising variety of cars, only 3 TS050s!! All went surprisingly well, blasted past the hybrids on the straights, and watched various others throw themselves off the road. Narrowly avoided someone coming in too hot and Indianapolis, saw him in the mirror at the last second and delayed turning in. Pitted from 4th on lap 4, and came out in 5th, which became 6th when I got a bit overexcited chasing 3rd and 4th and put myself in the gravel at Indianapolis. Still, 6th from 20th, DR up 650, SR still at 99, and would have been a CRB if a Toyota hadn't run into the back of me coming out of Mulsanne corner!

Will probably do a couple more from the back, but might qualify and race in the Toyota over the weekend, might get a result down here in C/S-B/S.

@Sven Jurgens
Did you have to adjust braking points with this new update?

I never changed it, always drive with zero unless the tire wear is really uneven.

I got a 3:26.9 lap before in the R92CP, so far after two races, 3:30.1 best. It feels like I need to brake slightly earlier and don't go as nice through the corners as before. I drive with DS4, TCS 2, ABS default, maybe something changed in the assists.

3:28.9 best lap now drafting a Jaguar on the straight.

Great racing, very well played by both of you. I do not understand though how guys who drive so loose still maintain their speed. I see guys all over the road, rear end hanging out etc, like the blue lambo in your video on lap 2, yet they still maintain their speed.

I had a decent night, was punted hard in one race by the usual suspect flag but otherwise had excellent races with red hot pace in the mid to high 30's. Twice I managed to be invloved with the same guy where i would battle him all race, be in second then get a penalty on the final turn and drop to 3rd by a 10th.

Funnily enough, turning off counter steering assistance seems to help with this. I had to turn it off for an event I entered and liked it so much I've left it off. I suspect that assist not only helps steering input, but also modulates the throttle a bit to control the slide.
Also, some of what you see in online races is how your PS4 is interpreting the data stream, not what's actually happening for the other driver... in one word, lag. At the other driver's screen their car may be quite a bit smoother than it appears on your screen.

@Sven Jurgens you have a Japanese spiritual sibling (or alt acct) - Sven-san, I've never seen him (or her) race with a Q time, but races clean from the back in race B very often.

Interesting! Gonna have to check if it´s on or off in my settings. Haven´t thought of it

Ahh. Time trial challenges at existing circuits with existing cars. I don't mind throwing more money at PD but that is something that I'm as interested in as going for a root canal

I paid for it. It's probably the most compelling single player content in the game to me. Granted, I think it's more compelling to the people that can match the times, but I played the heck out of it already. I hate the AMG. I don't understand how people go fast with that understeering POS, but the challenge is to go fast with it, so I am doing my best.

I've gotten diamond on Dragon's Trail and now I am trying to complete Lago Maggiore. I'm .05 seconds off.

It's like the good old gold events from the early years. The ones people used to complain about because they were so hard!!

Ya, it shouldn't be a paid unlock, but I'm getting my money's worth out of it.

Something I noticed yesterday, that I haven't seen before is when I brake for the Mulsanne chicanes, the back end of my car is stepping out a bit. So that makes me ease off of the brakes, to straighten it out, and I'm entering the chicanes with a bit too much speed.
It's happening with the BB at 0, but it's reacting as if all the braking is at the rear. Have you noticed this?

The Group 3 car? To me it's my preferred ride and i do not find it any more prone to understeer than any of the RWD cars, if anything there are quite a few which are worse.

What it has going for it is planted rear end, one can ride a bump and hit the gas hard and she goes hard, every other car slides a bit. I take a wide line, am a touch slow just before the apex (admittedly leaving me vulnerable to rear end accidents) but gun it on the way out.

I agree, I thoroughly enjoyed chasing Lewis last night, and plan to continue chasing him again tonight. The car is a Nonedersteering POS but the challenge is great fun! Definitely worth the $. :)

Yep, gotta brake perfectly straight for sure, and come off soon enough. The 962 squirms.
Hey! I am back in the s sr land of sanity. Just had a fine race with a clean South American driver!
Neither of us caugh @Sven Jurgens!
Winner? 962

I drive the cars people say understeer, I like them, all about trail braking to get the tanks to turn at all!
I’m very uncomfortable with oversteering setup, in games and irl. Too scary, inconsistent in my hands, like what happened to the r8 at worlds at Tokyo.
Next race lap 1 punted. Lap 2 punted. Lol Sven punted...What is this football with great defense?

LOL, sorry for the hit, I just switched cars. Good revenge hit though ;) jk. Good to see you out on your regular account again

For your question: Yes, especially with the Jag you have to aim very carefully or the back will get away on you.

My best result in the R92CP today (962C wins!!!)
E7ASGfE.jpg

Total race time of 17:48.419 with best lap of 3:27.968
Pre patch best race time of 17:46.135 with best lap of 3:26.903
My first lap was 0.3 sec faster above and took more tries than the one earlier in the week, so overall close, yet slower after the patch.

Next up the 962C, time to beat (from the back) 17:43.106 with best lap of 3:26.871.
First attempt best lap 3:36, #blame Sturk  Nope was all my fault first time.

Next week's combos are up, Gr.4 Autopolis, provided car, likely the FF set, Gr.3 at Interlagos, and N200 one-make at the Nordschleife, grid start with false start, fuel X3, tyres x5. Could be an interesting new car, or more likely the new Toyota 86 from this week's update.

I was hoping for a break... N200 hmm, better than N100 I guess.

I've thought for a while that sometimes when it takes you by surprise it might have something to do with lag, one of the more technical bods might be able to confirm or deny it. Only happens in races and I always take the race slightly easier than qualifying so when I completely miss a corner in that way it does make me think something is amiss!

I see plenty of people do well with it. It's a POS in my hands. Then again, I rarely see those same people using the Huracan Gr3 which is my weapon of choice.

Man, dad gum Sauber lap three cuts the chicane entry and bumps me, I stay ahead, but collect a five second penalty for his handiwork.
That my friends is why I run tcs.
No tcs my race would have ended right there.
Abs weak is working great on the 962, able to make moves at end of straights if you get into position...
Gotta take a break after the last one there...
I was on the verge of puntmania after that...
