Cozy lobby of 8 in the 7:30 am race. I started 5th, quickly moved to 4th then followed 2nd and 3rd all first lap. I was draft passing them on the straight, but got cut off by the first then caught off guard by the second braking in the wrong place and bumping me into the wall. (No penalty for him) Lap 2 3.5 seconds behind, I start catching back up, one crashes, and I close the gap to 2nd. He comes slow out of the karoussel, I get alongside and we go through 3 corners side by side to pass him. I build up a gap of 1.0 seconds, not enough, he draft passes me on the straight even though my exit couldn't have any better. The draft is too strong. I finish 3rd. Doesn't seem fair, but what does in this game :lol: Fun race!

8am race has 11 entries, I'm starting 6th.

Had a pretty good night in Brazil, my DR is just 50 points from my all time high but I am really struggling to get my SR up in race B. Have the race b values been dropped lately? I had one simple tap in a race last night and lost several points but two consecutive clean races and i gained maybe 14 or something, seemed a very slow burn.

I do love the left hander after the Senna curves at Interlagos, absolutely guaranteed if two guys are fighting ahead of you they tangle at this turn. Picked up 2 wins from 3rd as the leading two trip over themselves there, its hilarious. People just do not learn that under no circumstances can you brake late there, you hit the anchors just before the concrete on the right and if in a tow you hit them at the 100m mark. Any later and it will end in tears, guaranteed.

The grip model change a few months back really hurt the Aston around Interlagos, I used to love on TC2 as you could rotate it with the gas but now it just simply pushes too much. The Merc is my most reliable ride as per usual but i do like taking the Ford GT for a spin. Posted a 32.7 which i will struggle to beat TBH.
 
I don’t know how to post the twitch stream, I can’t seem to find it? :lol: But man I got into with a fella in that one, 2 actually but the other guy fell back and quit. He stuck his nose in and put me off at one point(in a spot where you just can’t go 2 wide at all) so when I re entered I made sure to T bone him, and he got the penalty!! :lol: , the. He tried to side swipe me later as I was passing him so on the back straight I brake check the crap out of him. To the shadow realM you go buddy!! Damn, first Nord race and I’m already all riled up! :lol:

It’s so hard to gain SR in these lower lobbies. It’s amazing how much chaos one driver with who dgaf can cause for the drivers around them.

In a weird turn, Le Mans and a trip to Nord got me to DR B briefly yesterday, which caused my SR to go down because I was in the back of the pack. Back in DR C, and making turns at Interlagos this morning. One CRB, one blue SR, one red. Meh.
 
Just got punted in the first turn. I even tried to avoid it, and the guy changed directions to use me as a back stop. SR down, and after I got back on the track, another person from the same country bumped me into the wall. Took a 3.5 second penalty some how.

I’m going to take a break.

Got the AMG down to 32.4 at Interlagos, BB0, such a tough track this is. Scored 32.6’s in the Mustang and Vette as well. :)

If i can run a 32.7 you've got more time in you. Looking at the lap, you slide through the left hander at the end of the back straight, exit compromised too. I reakon you've got 2 to 3 tenths there to come. The last corner too, maybe a tenth or two. You can crack 31 based on this lap.

That was an awesome race!! If only I hadn’t spun the wheels there on the second lap we could have had an entire race of bumper to bumper action. Great race man! :cheers:

I skipped the next one to get some clips, I’ll be back for the one after though. :)

Not sure if this is what you're looking for. But if you go to settings > Channel and Videos, there's an option to save your past streams

F interlagos this week. Heck, after last week, I am thinking F Race B altogether. Even Race C to some extent.

The penalty system is totally to blame at the moment. Being an numpty is totally allowed and the people who do what they are supposed to get the penalty.

I just got 10 second at interlagos (and probably lost my rating as well...I haven't checked. I shut the game off in disgust). First off, I went wide at the end of the back straight to avoid contacting the car in front of me. as a result, I get slammed into on a pass from some dude in a Porsche behind me (which in the past would have gotten him a huge contact penalty) and then, because I was slammed into, the next guy comes past, then slides over in front of me and brakes early for the uphill right. Surprise, he gets punted off track, which happens when you brake in front of someone who isn't even thinking of braking yet. He gets punted and I get 5 seconds. Then, another numpty seizes the opportunity and tries to pass around the outside. You know, the outside of that double apex where EVERYONE goes out wide to the rumble strips. He doesn't even get halfway along side, but hits me (of course) and because there is no where else to go, is off track and I get another 5 seconds.

How? How? How? is this current system being allowed to continue? Are they only considering the elite players who, by virtue of being elite, would never have this altercations with each other?

It's ridiculous.

Last night, I get dive bombed and punted off track at the Nurb by a dumbass who could not wait a few moments for us to get to the main straight where he could pass me easy. No, he had to make a dumb move and punt me into the armco. Even if he made the pass clean, it would be stupid because it would have set him up to be easily passed again by me on the straight.

He had an A+ too, which emphasizes my point that aggression is being rewarded over race craft.


I would KILL to have the old penalty system brought back where everything except minor contact got you a time penalty.

Got 6th place in both Race A and B.
I was doing Race C, and my pedals slided away and I wasn't able to keep racing unless I had to re-adjust my playseat so I quit the race.
Oh boy, I didn't know you miss so much DR when you quit.

I highly recommend getting pedals secured. A good cheap way is bolting them to a piece of wood.
I began with pedals on floor a long time.
I had no idea what I was missing until I bolted them to a cheap piece of shelving I had laying around.
Finally after almost 2 years I transition to a better piece of wood and mounted the wheel to it as well.

On my main, frequently facing a plus and high A the racing is too aggressive for my taste usually.
I do think it’s the pen system. That said a person simply CANNOT make mistakes at Interlagos period in the better rooms.
If you keep racing you’ll get the rating back.
High rooms to me in this game are ruthless.

I have an Openwheeler playseat but for some reason the tensioner holding the pedal plate loosened up so while I was doing the daily in the Nurb, my pedals slided away, so I had to quit the race.

I see penalties are still messed up.
Word of advice: Never do dailies in the Nurb.
People will try to overtake you anywhere in this track. You will miss a ton of DR.

It’s all good, that’s exactly what my Alt account is for, I don’t care about the stats on that one. I just race. :)


Stream is up, just had a good race with @Dairyworker and @Mc_Yavel , they caught a bit of bad luck at the start but look to have finished well. Best result so far of 2nd for me. :)

 
First race was good, second race was ok.

Nothing special happend in the first one other than both @Sven Jurgens and @Mc_Yavel catching me. The second i put a wheel on the grass and spun in the first section. I managed to save/control it well enough and fell back in line just behind @Pigems and yavel but got taken down by a person. Had a decent run after that though.

Next goes now...

I always kind of defended the penalty system as I know it's very difficult to program such a thing. However, maybe what, a year ago (???) they changed it so the guy in front gets penalised if hit from behind. i realise there was some brake checking going on but this opened pandora's box. Suddenly it enabled dive bombing, especially from our impatient neighbours to the south.
 
Ran the Nurb on my alt this morning and managed to rack up 13s in penalties from wall hits and a side tap. What a joke

I'd be more likely to defend the penalty system if they actually put any effort into addressing its issues. As in tweaking things to improve more than once a year.

It's the same as the discussion about the Lewis Hamilton gold times.

When it comes to the penalty system, people who suck whine about sucking and PD appeases them rather than sticking by their guns and making an SR S a proper achievement. I was an SR S when all contact was penalized. I felt there were too many penalties being handed out as well, but I was thriving in those conditions.

EDIT: This made setting up a pass a REQUIREMENT because, aside from you not being able to bump pass them, the person being passed could not slam into people to shut the door.

People had to actually avoid making contact rather than contact being the preferred tactic. The current system rewards being a jerk because if you make a dumb pass and hit yourself off track, the guy you hit gets a penalty.

I still don't understand why they got rid of that entirely. All people asked for was for it to be toned down a little for light contact.

This will end in tears. One needs to set up the pass a little better rather than leap at any gap that is maybe there.

As an example, the in field at Interlagos, i regard this as no-pass zone. You pass into T1 and the left at the end of the back straight. To pass anywhere else you need folks to make a mistake, and they will, especially into the double right hander where the mess up the first one and go too wide. But just wait a few corners, i'll mess it up don't worry.

I raced iracing for a couple of years, had no issues there so I'm pretty sure it's not me causing these problems.

This is another reason why I use the cones. Interlagos has really good braking cone placement. When someone is close, I am usually braking pretty late. If they wait for my tail lights to come on before braking themselves, they'll go off course.

Still, it doesn't stop the opportunists thriving under the current system.


Race B should be a longer sprint race. I would be all for Race B being as long as Race C and Race C being longer. Maybe there could only be 1 race C per hour and have longer races (instead of around 20 minutes).

This is, yet again, why I would like to see the single player events of GT7 be tweaked so that they could be single player OR multiplayer. Leave the short races for the impatient folks. I would spend my time up in the Pro and Endurance series. Also, to top it off, make it so you have to earn your way into those events by restricting entry.


Man...If I were ever to get the chance to help with that design, I'd temporarily go back to game design just for that gig. I even try to talk some DICE guys to be on the team with me. but it'll never happen. :rolleyes::rolleyes:
