Thanks, I meant cars though :)... which was disappointing compared with the Asia top 10. All Atenza except @nord_clane

One question, I just managed to become DRS and yesterday in Suzuka I was in a room with 14 other S/S and 6 A/S drivers. I made until now almost 300 races but the hardest room I joined until now was 1/3 DRS and others DRA. Is this expecting me from now on just because I entered DRS? Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid of anyone, I love it to race against the top guys. But why I'm asking is, I'm thinking I need to adjust my qualifying time-philosophy maybe. Until now my aim was to get at least 1 sec close to the p10 of the final-evening leaderbord to get a well startplace, but maybe this will not be enough anymore. Yesterday I had a 2.08.6xx and the end of top ten was I think 2.07.6xx, and in that room I described I started only from p11.

Congrats. I'm having similar issues having moved to 40000 points now... the last two races I've done on Sport Mode I have been position 20 of 20 with door number 20 and position 14 of 16 with door number 16 . I guess the only way to get results is qualify better.

Seems nearly every time I've been on the wrong end of a ramming nutter they are either in an M4 or a FWD car, just like with your race. I always get worried as soon as im near one because sadly the law of averages says it's going to end up messy. I suspect all FWD cars are driven by kids anyway cos surely no self respecting adult would choose one?!

What a strange comment.

i had one at dragon trail where i was s/s and the other 19 guys were d/s, my qualifying time was literally 5 seconds faster than p2. it must be a glitch, it only happened to me once in 300 races though so it isnt common

It's because you are matched on SR first. If there are no other S or A drivers available then you will be matched with the next available SR S drivers. I also noticed this only tends to happen if you aren't at 99 SR points (which is where the majority of your peers in S will be). For example, on Saturday I was A/S 99SR points... matched with all A/S. Dropped SR (as documented yesterday :O) and then on the way back up I was in such mixe grids with like 1 or 2 S, 2 or 3 A and the rest D. I think DS is a small pool so it gets rounded up to higher DR rather than grouped with similar ability, but lower sportsmanship.

Man had some of the most fun races in A last night.. I think 4 or 5 races which were neck-n-neck until the finish line. Lost a couple of those but also won a couple. Civic was surprisingly fun.

Probably gonna do the Civic races tonight but Maggiore sure is tempting..

So, last night.... my plan was to focus on Nurburgring GP so I started qualifying and tried Genesis, TT, Atenza and Citroen with the 2:03/2:04 target in mind (as discussed yesterday). But I just couldn't get close :(... best I got in the end was 2:05.395 with an optimal of 2:04.9xx in the trusty Citroen. As I said, I spent 1 hour 40 doing qualifying and basically my last chance to enter a race for the night was the 20.40 (bed time at 9 ) so I entered... got door number 16 and started in 14th. Gained a position due to a quitter so finished 13th. Only lost 414 DR though, so 34 per position... feels tough though, basically being filler :(

Good things is that I bettered my previous best by over a second, but I couldn't find that extra second to put me in with a chance of top half finish.

As for tonight... I've not raced on the full Maggiore circuit since a one make Scirocco group 4 on a Sunday a couple of months back, during which I lost so much SR I haven't raced it again since. I will give it a go tonight, given how well behaved most people seem these days... but also tempted to try the Civic as Suzuka East is statistically my best track for Q times.

I found the Atenza as the most stable car in the lot, I got 2:03.7 best laptime I had no t time to get some more tenths but I believe it is possible with some more time to qualify... just in the top 20 italy for the first time. I would always consider this mazda for future races!!

Looks like if I want to score any points tonight, Monza it is! Based on my observations since the track opened, I've come to the following conclusions. Firstly, people are afraid of Monza, especially DR/Ds. Secondly, People are afraid of Gr1, especially DR/Ds. Based on this and being an SR/S, I know I will be mismatched with predominantly DR/As and Bs, with maybe a stray S. Because of the rating difference the only people who will be below me on the starting grid will be those who didn't bother to qualify.

All i need to do is hang back at the chicanes, watch the carnage unfold before me, mainly by DR/Bs, and then reap the whirlwind!👍

Don't cha wish your left back was BAE

I'm a Liverpool fan so no, we've got Robertson

On a more relevant topic, I'm hitting consistent 1:58s with the Viper at Maggiore, but can deffo get 1:56 if I really really try. Just debating whether to stick or twist

Buongiorno :)

I tried the Atenza but I probably didn't give it long enough... I started worrying that the race time was approaching so switched back to familiar territory. I also hate using the same car as 95% of the rest of the field.

Congrats though, that's a great time!

Fair enough... he's looking like a great buy and much better than Moreno

Keep pushing!

What are the "best" cars in Gr. 3 right now? Last time I raced Gr.3 it was all RC F at the top..

That was Maggiore Centre last week? It's the only time I've seen RC-F in the top 10...

Just use the car you're most confident and safe with. There is no point in using a car just because the Top 10 drive it

This ^. Yesterday Nord Clane was the only non-Atenza in the top 10 EU, yet he can get in there. A French guy over the weekend kept putting down top 10 times in Genesis group 3 and 4, despite 911s or M4s being 8 or 9 of the others.

All of the cars are pretty well-balanced, bar a few, so pick whatever you get the hang of and can set a good qualifying time in :)

I've tried to force myself to use the M4 before as everyone else was using it but I just don't get on with it, so for group 4 I pretty much always use the Citroen.

I also managed a top 10 EU time yesterday without using the Atenza. I used the Evo and got a 2.02.8xx which took me a long time to set and that put me in 9th at about 10pm. Not sure how long I stayed there though

@Alpha Cipher what was your best q time on Nurb GP in the end?
Stuck with the 2:03.609 in the end :)

Based on past experience there how about the Porsche? Its hybrid system is devastating on the straights!

I was not celebrating the Atenza, I was only saying it fits with my drive style and I can get closer to the TOP10 than ever. I also believe that even if BOP is set, some cars are better for some tracks and other ones for some others

After maggiore turn 4 there is a tiny jump going into the downhill and the viper absolutely hates it, spins every time

Nice time. Past my bedtime though so I only saw the Atenzas!

Well done... I just couldn't find another second anywhere :( only 3 tenths for my optimal.

Did he ask that?

For sure 👍 I just couldn't get on with it, despite it clearly being the 'better' choice.

Thanks :) Turn 3 can bamboozle you with just how much you can run wide  I limit myself to having the last 2 inner wheels on the green stuff at the exit, but you can run even wider than that and not get a penalty

Re-read his post again and apparently he said "Monza it is for me!" instead of what I thought "Mazda it is for me!" :O Sorry for the intrustion I guess

Maybe but there is not a second there...? T3 is the left before the right? I knew you can go wide to the outside on 4 but didn't realise on 3

Oh, I'll have to check that out.

To answer your question: the Pantera handles really well. It's a car that's pretty solid in its stock form. It was featured in Race A last week and I thought all 3 days with it were solid. It actually inspired me to create my own recurring lobby.
Thanks, indeed! :) Good reporting, Satomi! :)

That variation of Blue Moon is weird. It has some very sensitive track limits at certain places where a penalty gets triggered if just one tire touches the grass. Every race I did with the Mach 1 last Friday resulted in some kind of track limit penalty and I wasn't even aiming for shortcuts.

Strange.. I had no problem at all with that issue on that race and I made like at least half a dozen!!

Sorry, got confused myself. Basically it's the really wide left-hander that leads to a much sharper left-right
T2 I think. I'm sure there's 2-3/10ths of a second lying around there

1:56.154 on Lago... Good enough for B though :D

I don't recall a spot where I've constantly spun with the Viper at Maggiore. (I havent tried today, but I always run viper)
Replay?

Yeah, 2 then... the long one with about 3 miles of tarmac on the right!

I always hold half throttle round there and stay on the curbs :scared:

I got hit by an avenging spaniard in nurb. He went through me, went on the grass, tried to hit a swiss guy and missed. Funny though. Before that the spaniard and swiss guy were tussling.

It´s not just because I´m Portuguese... bu t my feeling is that most os spanish drivers on GTS behave mostly like that... Stupidly agressive!!!

Should be a 7 day ban for driving like that
For life... sentence... :)

Every country has its share of bad drivers :)
That may be so.. but on any race I´m in, and if there are spanish guys.. I´very sure that one or more will show that "stange" behaviour... (wishing to kill/murder/send to the grave.) every (or almost every) driver that comes near him or tryes to pass him... (kind off..)
