Good morning everybody! Yesterday I did 3 races C, and it was so fun and satisfying I dont even care about fact that I lost 100DR in general... Did 1,44.153 QT(could do better but I was so impatient to get to the race) which gave me 4th, 3rd and 2nd place at the start in three races, B/S players only. First one was little chaotic on 1st lap, few people ended in sand traps, nothing new... I made mistake on last lap, car spinned and it took forever to reset, I lost 5th place and ended 9th... Second race was best, very clean players, know what they doing, and what others doing so it was pleasure. I got great 2 laps battle with german guy, side by side wheel by wheel with no contact! I dont remember nickname, but if Youre reading this, thanks again, great driving! On lap before last Im 3rd, portuguese driver in front of me, 2s gap but I got better pace(tyres I think) so gap is getting smaller and smaller, last sector Im on his bumper, guess what hes doing? LEAVING me a space so I can easily overtake, tears in my eyes Last lap I got 3s to leader, gaining on every corner, finishing 1s behind him. GREAT race! 3rd race was nothing special, got bumped by spanish, lost places, catch spanish, bump him hard so we end on sand, dirty tyres, next corner sand again, more positions lost... Ended15th. About spanish guy, I did it beacuse in first race he divebombed in 1st corner on 1st lap and take out the leader, get 2s penalty and even after that he was blocking and pushing off the track 2 cars which trying to pass him, so he deserves today I gonna focus on Nations Cup, tommorow on Manufacturer, so be back at Autopolis on thursday, god bless you all clean drivers

@RacingGrandpa sorry m8, but you could have left a bit of space there. He was already on your rear quarter panel before turn in. At least from this angle
Nah. It's a turn that is slightly off camber and it is difficult to pull off side by side. Especially when it's the 1st laps and tensions are high.

The lead car cannot negotiate the turn without going off. The car behind should be able to ease into that turn, without an abrupt move like what happened. An overtake there, can be done smoothly when the car ahead is aware the other driver is not trying to escort them wide.

I've seen this plenty of times. I've had few side by side moves pulled off there and it's been done to me next to nil. It of times will not end well for the car on the outside.

Bad move(different than bad driver) by the Cayman. Too risky and too early.

It's almost impossible to leave space there, especially when I am already committed to my line before he pokes in the nose.
I am happy to leave place when it's apparent before I make my choice of line, as I do when someone is clean. But sticking your nose up to the rear quarter is not the same as conducting a clear pass. I might have been a little more annoyed than I should have been, but I still cannot see that I did something wrong.

The Genesis is a good car to use in Race B this week. I was about to break into the .31 in quali with it, but ran out of time and the matching screen came on. I am confident of bringing it to the lower .31. It is stable in the race as well.

So far I have had a good run in Race B. Made up lots of places in all the races I entered. Got 2 consecutive CRB's. Almost took victory in one, but totally lost the plot because I was paying too much attention to the rear view mirror.

Not that I'm going to race at Brands (punterino heaven so I usually steer clear) but I've put in a 1.29.8xx with the NSX. Debating whether to bite the bullet and try a few races later.... hmmmmmm.

How's everybody finding it?

1st few races around Brands yesterday were enjoyable and I was able to keep out of trouble and gain a few places, went up 10 in one race, however, as the evening progressed I was getting rammed, shunted, nudged and hit by spinning cars left, right and centre. I don't know how, but my SR stayed at 99.
Good luck.

Yeah, I've been having a lot of issues with these pedals for the past month now. Did whatever I could to fix them, but nothing helped. Mostly been having issues with the throttle pedal, ranging from flickering, incorrect input, or a mix of the two, to where it feels like I'm not accelerating at all.

This honestly upsets me so much, because this current G29 I have is a replacement for an older G29 that had the same issue.. so the replacement is getting replaced (still under warranty). :irked: in terms of quality/durability, the wheel itself is great (except for the dial, but that's another story), but the pedals are a ticking timebomb. Neither of the pedals I've had have lasted me a year.

Luckily I didn't take anyone out, but I got taken out. Really unfortunate that it happened to you at that moment.

That’s good to know, I’ve been getting a lot of flickering lately. Maybe time to contact Logitech!

 If you‘d like to keep your A+, well then definitely not :D
But if you truly consider doing Daily Racing, then my suggestion is to play early in the morning as it is the “cleanest“ time to play.
Or do it like me, abandon daily races at all, Joyn the pleasures of Lobby racing with trusty people...like me :P
There is no need for ego boosting for us old farts
We have proven already that we‘re not rubbish, so why dealing with this utter nonsense in Sport Mode at all?!
BTW, I’m online right now... ;)

Tried a C race at Autopolis.
Approaching T1 on lap 1, my pedals die on me. I go wide, then get pushed off.

G29 pedals are rubbish.

Same here, the pedals can be really painful. Sometimes I switch the clutch with the gas (because of the pots).
After a while I have to do that again. It's not so bad after all, but it can ruin your race and others.
I'm thinking of buying a CSW V2.5 with pedals and use my gimx for GT Sport.

This is the kind of dirty that annoys me the most. Someone fast lacking race craft to pass but feeling entitled to do so because he is faster lapping. The Porsche driver here was behind me for a lap and a half but couldn't pass legit. So what does he do? Puts his nose in and rams me in the sand.

Just had a similar incident, it's predictable that the crowd at large try for the paddock hill hero pass every time around.

I took the 4c in because, well, it's the 4c and it's very handy, chucked in a lap nowhere near my potential, I got up to 4th from 8th by Surtees, let one Mégane (entire lobby is meganes ofc) go by, and easily pass him on the second corner of the gp loop, where the Alfa is just ridiculously easy to hoon.

It's a dense pack so I decide, easy and give room through the first two turns, but coming into paddock hill I'm punted off the wide line very deliberately.

I managed to stop from going so deep that it ruined my race, and there were enough people flat out unable to drive around Brand's that I still got 7th, but 2nd was easily on the table, and my only crime was not forcing a pass on three cars in the most dangerous part of the entire track.

That sounds like a plan.... but I'm in work :(

I will look out for you in lobbies if I get on later mate.

Hope you're good 👍

Slow response, I missed the post first time round. You may need to check your line. If you stray from the racing line you will notice if you look carefully, tyre debris on the track. Get on them and it's like marbles. Even though there is supposed to be no tyre wear and therefore shouldn't be any debris, there is

I hope it's true, I drove those corners very carefully and it still happened.
But the rest of week I did not have that problem again. Strange

Just weighing in on the G29 pedals issue. I periodically get the flickering inputs on the brake and/or gas pedal but have always managed to "fix" it by taking the back off and giving everything a good blast of compressed air. A surprising amount of dust accumulates in there and seems to be the cause of unexpected inputs.

I've had mine for about 11 months now so no idea if this is a symptom of a longer term issue that might not be so easily solved.

Also, I've been really happy with the G29. I've considered an upgrade but I'm going to wait until PS5 is out to see where everything lands before potentially splashing out on something that's redundant in less than a year. Hoping to go the Fanatec route though.

It wasn't that bad in B/S lobbies that I'm in, if you qualify in front with a decent time it's mostly clean. I've managed to put in a 1:30.0 qualifying time, maybe could go slightly under 1:30 mark but didn't bother. Done 4 races so far, I was on pole in 3 of them I believe, two wins, 1 third and one complete bottle mostly on my part, but with a little help from fellow racers , in that race I've finished 9th or 10th.

It is a little boring, we already had that race somewhere around 3 weeks ago, Brands is not an easy track and also not a track that gives a lot of opportunities for overtaking if guy in front doesn't make a mistake, especially when everyone is using same car (Megane). At least I can say that I was in Super GT video/stream yesterday and was in front of him, this was a race that I've started on pole and finished 3rd, he finished 4th. We'll ignore the fact that he started dead last, of course, and conclude that I'm the faster driver of course :D:D:D. This race is somewhere around 1h:39:24 mark on the video below.

What got to me was that he was clean right up to that point so I foolishly expected it to stay that way. I called him out in post race and he was like "? /?/?". It would seem he went to the bathroom while the sportsmanship videos was showing.

I think he did not do that to upset you. It happens a lot. From his perspective, he saw some room to come in and overtake you.
It was not a very smart move, but nothing really serious.

Wow, just had a true classic in race A. Forgot to save the replay. Started 3rd (1:12.23) behind two Dutchmen.

Now I could blame netcode a little but I gave P2 a tiny bit of contact on the apex of turn 1, lap 1, and he just got absolutely sent across the track, the momentum seemed wrong, but I have to take my blame for hitting him.

Not that instant karma didn't strike, as I was then punted, plus my penalty, put me in eleventh.

But I ah, went maximum attack, so to speak, and decided that since punts were the order of the day, I'd expect no quarter and give none on this recovery drive.

Man, did I go to work. A couple little rubs here and there, a lot of light flashing, being very quick through the back end, psyching people out with my lines under slipstream. One guy wanted to punt me after I shot past him due to getting a way better exit out of hairpin 3, I let him line it up the whole lap, then pretended to defend into the same corner, went left just before the braking zone, watched him shoot off.

I got overtakes at every corner. I'm way too fast for C rank now, and more importantly way too consistent.

An Italian was holding P2 in the wake of the chaos I'd caused, I decided not to ruin his race as he seemed to be keeping his head down just tryna hold on even though he was kinda slow. I passed him on the OUTSIDE at the final turn on lap 5 to take 2nd.

So uh, lesson of the day, I guess, don't punt me, because it activates my secret moves, and I'll win.

Maybe he didn't meant to, but he did very much ruin my race. It was a full fledged TIP-manouver except he had so much speed that he didn't have to steer towards me, all he needed was to go straight.

For me it also feels like the throttle pedal flickers on my G29 here and there. My biggest annoyance is my paddles are not as responsive. I’ve had the wheel for a little over 2 years.

I think my next wheel will be a fanatec. I tried one at the Indy car race in Toronto last year. I was really drunk, but I liked it.

I call it "Last Lap Syndrome". People will often be clean for a race then turn into animals on the last lap. I had someone at Nurburgring push his way past me on the final corner, despite the fact he was carrying a penalty and would finish behind me anyway .

This happens quite a lot, I think. Not all punting, bumping, rubbing or crashing happens on purpose and deserves the name calling that happens a lot in the lobbies. If you watch real world Touring Racing you know that mistakes and some bumping are quite common in some circuits. Mistakes happen.

(Obviously there are the punters and bad behavioured drivers, but you can tell the difference.

Il just throw in my experience of being a g29 owner.

Bought it along with gt sport pretty much a year to the day and they have been used pretty much every day since. They have certainly had well over 1000 hours of use probably much more than that.

Personally i think its a fantastic wheel for the price and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to move from pad to wheel.

In terms of issues. I did get the throttle blip issue a few months back but this was a build up of cat hair(I have 2 cats that shed like nobody's business). Used the Hoover to clean them which sorted the issue and got some compressed air for if it happened again. No issues since and now I cover pedals with a tea towel when not in use. Decent blasts with compressed air every couple of weeks just as part of maintenance.

I guess like all electronics an element of taking care and maintanence will go a long way to extending a device life and preventing issues.

@RacingGrandpa, I've looked at a lot of incident/crash replays, and sometimes it can look way different from multiple perspectives.
I've saved replays before when I wanted to show someone punting me, but when I view it from other perspectives, it kinda looks like I turned down into the other car.
I think it's because it doesn't always look the same from both of your viewpoints is a big reason for disagreements over who to blame.
