Glad to see some people finding the love at autopolis now. Always kind of felt the track had a nice flow if you just had it right in the right car. Will enjoy trying out the Jr. there once I get back on.

Saw everyone showing where they have done best so I ran down my top 3 most raced tracks.
1. Dragon Trail Seaside. 71 races, 0 wins, 13 top 5, 2 poles
2. Autopolis. 65 races, 2 wins, 21 top 5, 1 pole
3. Interlagos. 55 races, 1 win, 14 top 5, 0 pole
I enjoy DTS but it doesnt seem the love is coming back there.
Sadly I still have never pulled a fastest lap in over 700 races.

Same here, I love Autopolis, I think the flow is amazing with all cars, you just need to be pacient and wait for the right points. I love Tsukuba too lol

Entering my first race since Wednesday last week. We did a crazy amount of work to the house over the weekend, and it’s possible I overindulged last night, haha, so I’m finally ready to look at a moving screen again. I need to remember I’m 33 not 23 these days.

Heading into Race C. Seems fun so far. I’m shooting for 45s for a qualifying lap.

Totally look like ghosts. :scared:

Looks like one of @Pigems "dirty" races . Dunno about the Daytona 500, I was watching a documentary about a dood who wanted to race in the Indy 500. I think they should include the Daytona infield as part of the 500 ;) .

They won't do that at Daytona but they modified the infield course at Charlotte and they now run a 'Roval' there. Actually works pretty well, including the turn 1 from hell like most tracks on gt sport. You should check out the finish from the first time they raced there. I took a tour of the track and can tell you it is more up and down than it looks.

I hear Scotty McLaughlin is trying for Indy this year?

Started P9 and ended P5 in my first Red Bull race. Not bad.

then, set a qually and took a win from the pole at Tsukuba. I took 4 second of phantom penalties, I’m guessing from a guy whose connection was bad. I saved the relay to look later. Brought me down to SR A. I’m going to take another race C to get back to SR S and hopefully stay for FIA this week.

Tried a C race at Autopolis.
Approaching T1 on lap 1, my pedals die on me. I go wide, then get pushed off.

G29 pedals are rubbish.

I feel you, Mistah!

My brake pedal failed on me at the hairpin, took 3 people out. They didn’t seem to believe my story.

Good to see your post and see I’m not the only one.

Yeah, I've been having a lot of issues with these pedals for the past month now. Did whatever I could to fix them, but nothing helped. Mostly been having issues with the throttle pedal, ranging from flickering, incorrect input, or a mix of the two, to where it feels like I'm not accelerating at all.

This honestly upsets me so much, because this current G29 I have is a replacement for an older G29 that had the same issue.. so the replacement is getting replaced (still under warranty). :irked: in terms of quality/durability, the wheel itself is great (except for the dial, but that's another story), but the pedals are a ticking timebomb. Neither of the pedals I've had have lasted me a year.

Luckily I didn't take anyone out, but I got taken out. Really unfortunate that it happened to you at that moment.

It’s encouraging to me that you put down the times you do with the G29 though. It’s the most wheel I could afford, and I’ve been happy with it (especially compared to the DS4). I’ve seen some other people around here mention how limiting it is and I think you prove them wrong.

In other news, I’m into the 45s for my QT at Autopolis. I think 44s might be reasonable. There are still a couple corners I haven’t figured a consistent and fast line for, and I think I will this week.

Racing there is rough though, especially with the grid start. I started P3 and by the second corner P1-3 were in the last three places because someone bowled through us. So silly. I also ended up punting a dude because he tried to pass me twice and pushed me off the track twice. Still, my DR is up 1500 tonight and I’m back to SR S.

Oh, also took my first passing under yellow penalty. I made a sick move to pass someone on the hair pin as the car in front of us spun. So dumb, haha.

Same here. Sometimes brakes. Sometimes throttle. Sometimes a hard push on the brakes makes it go away. Sometimes not. It is frustrating.

Well I hate the Red Bull Jr. I qualified with 1:45.2xx, but gave up on it.

I went back to Brands and tried some different cars. Found consistency in the trusty Ford and Hyundai against the sea of Megane's. Qualifying time is down to 1:30.3xx with the mustang and a 1:30.0 optimal so there is improvement! I managed to gain 4k DR running a bunch of daily races at Brands, up to 26k now. That's the highest I've been ,so the work is paying off.

There was a bunch of ramming and people taking each other out. However, I had some clean races except one where I was in a derby with a guy. Snapped some shots of cars other than a Megane at Brands.

The night-and-day handling difference of the RB Jr. between qualifying and racing, combined with the near inability to overtake at Autopolis, has made what I thought would be a fun race into yet another boring grind that I might ignore for most of this week...

When I first bought the G29, I bought it due to its pricing and the comments about it (heh). I was debating on buying either that or (I think) the Thrustmaster T150.
Quality/durability aside, the G29 have been a joy to use. I'm just happy that I've been able to put in the times I'm getting. Is it limiting in some way? Who knows. I'm not the right person to ask, as I've only ever owned the G29. I guess I'll personally find out when I get a new wheel and am able to compare them in the same session.

That did work for a day or two, but sadly doesn't work now.

Hey, whatever gets the job done. Though personally, I can't use the DS4 to play GT Sport even to save my life. Both of my G27s I had lasted a grand total of two months between each of them (warranty and whatnot), so I'm using my trusty old Driving Force Pro and have been playing GT Sport with it since launch. 16 years later and I'd say it's significantly outlived both of the G27s I had. 👍

I'd say (if it'll last you) that the G29 is still a great choice.

Think ai got bumped by the car in 7th, after it bumped the car ahead in 5th. T1 saw a bit of cars off. I made sure to hold the brakes when I was on the kerb and keep some forward momentum. Fell to 9th.

Fought my way back up to 1.2 seconds behind 5th. Car got faster as the tyre wore.

I absolutely HATE this game some days! Dirty C race.. Finished last. First B race... Dirty... Finished last. Second B race that I made an error on and spun out in the grass and I rage quit. 🤬 it! DR down almost 3,000. SR down from 99 to 82. Whatever. Done with this BS for the week!:mad::mad:

Seriously sick of idiots in Meganes. So over it! Here's where I start kicking around the idea (again) about switching to iRacing. People there actually want to race clean.

After like a year of playing GTS I started having issues with my G29 pedals. Just like you it was the throttle that was giving me problems. After several attempts at fixing it I said **** it and upgraded to a Fanatec with the load cell. Best decision I ever made. I know it's a lot of money for most people, but the game is so much more enjoyable to play and the build quality should ensure the wheel will last for many years to come. It would be so much easier if you could just buy replacement pots for the Logitech to just pop in there. But from what I understand it's hard to find the proper ones that work with them.

That's why I boot up GTAV.

You know? What I do sometimes is, steal a big rig, attach a trailer and drive around the whole map on the freeway. Stop at Up and Atom Burger, grab a Sprunk and continue on my journey. Then,.. then, I come back to GTS.

Do you need forty acres to turn that rig around? :dopey:

I was using the M4, got slaughtered by terrible drivers, spinning and crashing everywhere, usualy re-entering the track as I'm passing, halved my DR from 12k to 6k. Luck is not on my side tonight, ha.
& I've gained places in every race
I'm running TCS 2 because of the risk of dirty drivers, but the races I have run has mostly been clean. Morning races on weekdays are the best :)

TCS 2 works well on the RWD cars, but a lot of the AWD cars will happily handle a bit of biff with TCS off. It was the only way I could get some of them to turn in. If I had a wheel I'd use left foot braking instead like I do with my Suby.

I watched SuperGT‘s livestream yesterday between the last two Episodes of Locke and Key and the restart in Daytona.

Even though I find it hard to be fast and confident with high-downforce cars like LMP1 and these experimental lightweights I may give the RBX a try.

Still angry about the GT4/Brands Hatch repeat. There a few cool classic cars in the game. Why not have an open N-class race as a daily like there are in GT-Lounge? Like „N200 but older than 1980“ or so.

Assuming that the incoming replacement G29 lasts me 7-10 months, I have that much time to save up for a Fanatec... and a PS5.
I really hope that our stuff is compatible with the PS5.
