I think I know my way around Spa but getting a competitive lap with this car is tough. So far off the Top 10 ghosts that using them isn't very beneficial. I can't seem to get the front end grip the quick people are getting.

You can set top ten ghost to reset in each sector so they’re not so far ahead of you if needed. It’s in the “Ghost Settings” in the ore race/Q menu.

Damn disconnect demon strikes again! With venom this time!!!!! Race C: started 16th, shoved off by a dive bomb to p19 (last), fought back to p10, middle of lap 8, getting ready to pass....... BAM. That one hurt.

S'okay, went back to race B and finished 2nd. Aloe for that burn. And made a hideous Buckaroo Banzai livery. Think I'll make a Ford GT tonight since his rocket truck was a Ford.

Also won the Raptor in my daily achievement- made me chuckle. Too bad I can't modify that one for Gr3- and look like this:

I agree so much with @Pigems that racing at a s was great without pens because people were scared if they did wrong they’d get taken out. Goes to show people at a s know when they are being cheeky.
I think pen should be served up on exit of corner before long straight and car should remain ghosted until other cars are not nearby, if car is in another car ghosted while serving pen it should be autoslowed until there’s no cars near jmo.

Random reminders to myself with Dallara at Spa...
The line is crucial, don’t turn off driving line.
These are not gr3 fr cars and trail braking super deep doesn’t give me personally best result.
Braking straight and coming off brake sooner than gr3 fr while keeping the steering progressively turning in gives me better results.
Excessive trail braking leads to understeer because I ask too much from the front tires.
I GOTTA FLOW WITH STEERING. Gotta keep that wheel turning all the way in to an apex and don’t hold car tight, let it run out and maintain flow.
With the controls slow and smooth is fast. Maximizes grip.
Staccato steering overloads front tires and lessens grip for me.
Commit.
DONT overslow the car or brake too early.
Gotta brake late n straight and flow the steering in.
GET OFF THE DAMN BRAKE WHEN TURNING
More speed carried means car can take much more throttle coming out which multiplied overall speed.
More speed equals more grip because downforce.
Good time to use overtake button is in top gear...
On the downhill right hairpin to left downhill onto straight to downhill left sweeper FLOW with smooth steering! Carry more speed!
I need to grow some cajones on these turns...
Above all race my race, don’t fight being overtaken if it’s obvious the person behind is faster.
I like Spa it’s a thinking mans track.
There’s only a few real places to overtake without risking pens.
In the twisted unless the person ahead ROYALKY screws up you have to use speed on the straights...

I’m not sure if I will have time but if I do I’ll be back tonight trying my best to not drive these cars like fr gr3.

They are a different beast entirely...

I did 6 races at BMB today, not worth going back there. I quit the last one after an Argentinian already dove into me in T1 and gave me a penalty. I started at 40K DR, lost about 2K in those 6 races. You got the qualifying cheaters up front (42.7 sure) then I'm starting 9th to 13th (qualified without hitting walls) and it seems nobody has ever heard of draft bumping?

Every race goes like this. T1, car behind sticks his nose on my inside, slowing us both down or bumping me into the wall / giving me a penalty. Usually no contact though, so we're both already falling behind to the pack. But I'm on the outside in the draft so the car behind reluctantly falls in line and we slowly start catching up to the pack. Lap 3 we catch up, people in front are not working together but instead also slowing each other down. Thus I can pick up a position here and there while cars insist on driving side by side fighting over the draft of a car further ahead... So just follow the car that has the draft to gain a position.

Lap 4, people start getting penalties. Now it gets dangerous. Do not go near a car with a penalty, they will take it out on the nearest car before the penalty zone. I've been taken out 4 times today by a car who got a penalty further up ahead. Rammed, brake checked, pushed onto the infield, as long as they can show their dissatisfaction on someone.

Survive that, move on to the desperate end phase. Dive bombs, grind into wall, cars spinning from pit manoevers, anything but actually racing. Getting a good finish doesn't feel rewarding at all. I got more draft bump action in Spa races than all today at BMB. Do not enter random lobbies. With friends you can probably clean up, bump drafting through the chaos. So different from when BMB was on last time. Tons of bump drafting and strategy in races despite ruining SR in the process. Where did all that racecraft go.

I have break promise and went to the daily races.

Three rounds of Race B.

First race was a 43.5 qualifying with the GT-R, Grid position 4. That race was as I expected a total pile of 🤬. Went in Lap 2 to the first position when I got divebombed in T1 and fell back to 7th. Ended with P4.

Second race I improved to 43.35 which gave me the pole in the B / S lobby. Defended P1 for 3 laps when I was hit by the MOAD (mother of all divebombs). Crossed the line in the Nissan at P10, but I got a penalty (deserved) for touching the wall. So this ended at P12.

Third race I improved with the Atenza to 43.23 and started at P4. That race was quite fine. After a midsize-divebomb I teamed up with another Atenza and we pushed us back to the top. At Lap 7 I could take the lead and was able to defend it to the finish.

Increased my DR a bit and was able to finish the day with SR99 again. It may be possible that I race this again, before I promise another time not to participate till the penalty system is fixed

Hi! Finally today I got first clean race at Spa this week I was lucky on 1st lap and managed to create some gap from these crazy people(my FP was almost B, majority of players was B with some A) on 4-5th lap Hungarian who who was much faster passed me cleanly. Started from 3rd, finished 2nd. SR back to S

Awesome! Glad I am not the only one who pulled this. not good in a race though.👍

Decided to have a go qualifying for race A, fun car to drive but near impossible to overtake unless you get 2 corners in a row faster. Tried racing in the NA region late after seeing how fun it was, clean at the front, punting at the back. All good fun for me though.

Gonna try a few race C’s tonight and see how it goes. Starting at the back with no warm up, what could possibly go wrong?

Yet to qualify for Race C as I enjoy the challenge of coming through the back (sometimes when stupid penalties and bad drivers aren't involved) had some 4ths and 5ths from 16/17 but today 3rd from 19th quite impressed. Once the race settles down can be a bit boring I think a pit would have made this more interesting.

Did 1 race at Race A did not enjoy it at all and it just screams penalty fest.

Race B? I don't get it. GT3 don't race ovals do they? They would have been better using the infield track or if they wanted to do oval racing, use an American car on Sport tyres... in guessing the Gr3s and super easy and on rails. It's not really racing and realistic imo.

I think PD really need to up their game with the weekly races and get more creative and stop using repeats!

Okay, ethical dilemma here. Had a couple race C this morning. One person who is fast but rough gets behind me in the turn 1 chaos, coming Into les coombes he rear ends me into the driver in front. I get 2 sec, driver in front gets pissed off and as we go into the double right hander/hairpin the person who hits me goes inside and pushes me wide on exit. I spend next lap and a half getting abused by the punt victim as they think it was me.

I have raced with the one who hit me before in many races, they see no problem in the bump and run (in any class of car), pushing people wide or playing the penalty system apparently. I was punted off track by them at least twice earlier in the week and barged off a few times as well.

So my dilemma comes in the second race, I get caught in the pack at the start and they get away from pole. I work clean by lap 2 and spend the rest of the race running them down. Due to my slips and minor line mistakes trying to push it the battle comes down to the last chicane. I am determined to show that I can clear him nice and clean. I get ahead of them through blanchimont and knowing that person I take the wide line in as they dive to get inside. This sets me up for the inside on the left. We go through clean in the first part, but coming to the second in my memory he simply cuts across me trying to nail the exact apex even though he has maybe got his front wheel to front of my wing. I already have 2 wheels completely at the edge of the track trying to turn there as well. I keep it in the gas when we hit, he gets bounced to the pit barrier by the pinball effect and I cross to win despite the 4 sec penalty I get. I forgot to save replay, but remembered to save POV video later. Haven't checked it yet but he didn't say anything after the race, I tried to say in chat that I was sorry but I was already there but he left immediately.

Will check video later and post for opinions but am I being a ruthless prick here or what?

What comes around goes around. I wouldn't feel bad, if I had that kind of history with him. It's his own medicine, even if it wasn't on purpose.

You know the guy is dirty...
Personally I strike back when stricken.
If you often let the same player bully you then imo it’s not racing.
Now, you have to know what you are getting yourself into, in my case sometimes I don’t care if I ruin my race in the process of ruining theirs...
99 percent of time I turn other cheek, but there’s times when not.
In this case I feel you are in the right.
I feel it’s proper etiquette to fight fire with fire and not tolerate bs, however if you think it’s easily done without practice you would be incorrect.
If there’s any doubt, race contact free as normal, but if you are sure the competitor is dirty then go ahead and get inside em bump em deep punt etc.
I’ve gone all ways on this...I don’t see a situation where it’s right to let others cheat.
It’s a double edged sword though, imo the best tactic is full punt to where one or both cars gets reset...


You can’t just sit by idly and let others get away with bs...JMO

It’s very important when racing to recognize what position is advantageous and safe
(Meaning where even if a person wanted to they couldn’t take you out)
Also recognize where you might easily be able to letup a little, draft, then punt next brake zone.
I don’t recommend side swiping that’s a waste of time..
Let them ahead and just barely miss the next brake point :::evil:::

Starting at the back

I've still yet to qualify and I wonder if I should bother, lol. Every time grid start is a clown show, 3 or more cars spinning and a few going off the track. I might be at a disadvantage being in the middle of all that carnage. My times are mediocre with a wheel so I'll unlikely be starting near pole anyway.

I'm usually out the first turn warzone at P10 or greater from last after everyone has finished bumping and pushing their way around.

I think PD really need to up their game with the weekly races and get more creative and stop using repeats!

Well none of the races this week are repeats except BMB which hasn't been used for over a year. Last week had pretty good races too so I think lately, PD have.

Here's one of my favorite penalties of the week. Guy in the red Lancer has 4 penalty seconds, then hits the wall and gets 5 more.
Apparently, he's done with the race, but I guess, decides to do some damage on his way out. He hits me and the car in front of me, giving both of us 7 penalty seconds, then he quits.

I can attest to tonight's ram bam thank you mam sesh with Sturk. It's a victory just finishing a race without your SR getting dinged.

Without having seen footage but from what you've said, where's the dilema? You cleanly took the outside on the first half of the chicane, had significant overlap on the second half and he cut in. I rarely take on a policiing role but did so last night in race A. Was entering turn 2 (3?) right hander at the end of a straight two wide with me on the inside and had someone muscle his way inside me to make it three wide. Result, 3 seconds for me and the poor mug on the outside ends up the sand trap (never mind that he deserved to be their, in this corner he was clean). Had it been just me I'd have let it pass probably, but seeing the third party pushed off tripped me and I "failed" to turn left at the next corner with the barger still alongside me.

it looks laggy as piss tbh. its like he wasnt ahead then quickly glitches in front right before you hit him but he did bump first when you were clearly there. i hate that. people turn in and you are like IM HERE BUDDY, piss off and take the outside. so i get it.

One race today. Race C. Started midfield. Got up to 4th by lap 1. Battled P1 do we could build a gap. P1 wasn't quick enough. P3 catches up and passes me.

I hang back as those two keep touching. This is allowing P4&5 to catch up.

P1 loses the spot. Gets wobbly after the long straight. I get up the inside after the esses, P2 squeezes me in the braking zone and I punt P1.

P4&5 jump ahead and now I've got to catch up to the pack.
P1 starts glitching and inevitably disco'd.

On the final lap, I keep L3 pressed as long as I can, to finally grab P3.

This has come up before, and I think I inadvertently offended some of our non EMEA friends last time so I'll try and explain myself better

It's basically a numbers game. There are significantly more people on the EMEA server than any of the other servers which means there are more people at every level of the game to race against, and more people you need to beat to move up the rankings. Using the Spa example, there are currently 21,533 on the EMEA leaderboard against 5,717 on the Americas server.

Now I don't have an American account (I keep meaning to make one so I can race against more people here), but the times I register would indeed put me higher up the leaderboard.

So it's kinda all relative. It's not really "easier" but you'll find yourself racing much nearer the top players than in the EMEA races, purely because there are less people at each level. You probably would find your natural "America DR" level to be a bit higher than your "EMEA DR" level, but it doesn't really mean anything as you're still racing against similar paced people. There are just less of them.

So in some cases you can be the only A/A+ in a race and HAVE to win to avoid losing big points while gaining maybe 50 points for the win. You would have much more even matchmaking in EMEA, theoretically meaning you don’t have to finish as high up on the grid to gain more points. I gain way more points in FIA races due to the better matchmaking, this is where I’m getting my theory from.

It also happens the other way around. At 29k yesterday, I was racing people who were S/A+ (And in the top 30 of the leaderboard) in the top half of the room as the only B. A bottom half finish still loses a bit of DR in that situation even those folks are not my racing peers, haha.

I was a DR donor last night around BMB, which is what I was hoping for as the next nations/manufacturers tracks I'm not that rapid, so hopefully I won't be last, ha.
Had some good battles and I'm getting used to draft bumping, although others don't seem so keen
Lots of players were congratulating each other on clean racing.
