I was a DR donor last night around BMB, which is what I was hoping for as the next nations/manufacturers tracks I'm not that rapid, so hopefully I won't be last, ha.
Had some good battles and I'm getting used to draft bumping, although others don't seem so keen :)
Lots of players were congratulating each other on clean racing.
More DR giveaway tonight

It can also work against you in NA too, the matchmaking is worse because of less people to choose from. So in some cases you can be the only A/A+ in a race and HAVE to win to avoid losing big points while gaining maybe 50 points for the win. You would have much more even matchmaking in EMEA, theoretically meaning you don’t have to finish as high up on the grid to gain more points. I gain way more points in FIA races due to the better matchmaking, this is where I’m getting my theory from. :)

That's a very good point. At SR99, mixed DR grids are extremely rare in EMEA from what I've seen. Drop your SR and all kinds of matchmaking happens, but that's quite difficult to do with the current system (Blue Moon Bay aside).

Spend the evening at Spa yesterday. 3 races, 3k DR gained, maintained SR at 99. P7-P2, P14-P7, P8-P4.
The rooms where all B/S. There where at least one dirty driver in each room and several others that seems to still not know the track in an SF.
My QT is 1:58:02 and most races my laptimes in traffic is about 2:00:1.
That seems to be enough to move up if you are consistent.

Or is it more accurate to say they all know you?:sly:

Fortunately and unfortunately :/ It got to a point where some people just pulled over, here he comes again... while others got so sick of me they rammed me off when I came by . Hence my voluntary trips to lower SR in the past, get some new people to race. SR.S was not a big group on the NA server before 1.53. It also has its benefits, easy to keep racing with friends race after race in sport mode. Sometimes it was practically lobby racing, exact same group race after race.

Well, I will look up footage and see if it is worth putting up later, but i had plenty of chance to stop and let him get the win, we were waaaaay ahead of 3rd so it was p1 or p2. I know my memory isn't perfect so was just wondering if I should have held up. I don't like making passes with contact either way and don't want to give :dunce:like him excuses to do it more. Probably shouldn't have posted until after I had video ready to go. Will have a look and see what actual evidence shows. To be continued . . .

So here's the footage. I do have to say my memory was dodgy again as he clearly had a lead. I still think he pretty much turned in on me expecting me to fully stop on track and let him by. Definitely a crap move on both of us, but I am grown enough to admit it looks like I pretty much just blasted him broadside. Another reason to remember to check the replay and not rely solely on memory. Bad on all counts is my verdict, any others?

You had no throttle on from him turning in on you until well after your car nudged his. If he'd left room there'd have been no collision, but he may have run wide at that speed. Maybe poor judgement on both sides but it doesn't appear that your side was malicious. Without seeing his replay it's hard to judge his actions.

Hi! I checked leaderboard on Spa and noticed that with my time(1,56.698) I would be much higher in americas region, so I got question to you guys who have accounts both in emea and americas region, is it easier to get higher dr rank in america?
In addition to what the others have said, I have an Asia/Oceania (home) account and an Americas account. My America's DR is siginificantly higher than Asia for the same reason, fewer players in Americas than in Asia means if I place well I'm beating higher ranked players and gaining more DR than I would for a similar place in Asia. I don't often use the Americas account due to poor latency (ping) but when the connection is good the DR gains are easier than in Asia.

I did a race 2 days ago at Blue Moon Bay that was all SR B. The DRs in the race literally ranged from A+ to D.

Race A is usually like that. It's like a fraternity gathering. There's a large number of devoted A racers.
I'm sure there have been plenty of times that @BenRod knew all 11 of the other drivers.

Gee Spa is weird, it's so hard to race with these cars as they are very twitchy and only the very best drivers seem to be consistent and have control of their car.

I make too many errors and it costs a lot of time but have managed to keep my DR in check. I can race with S/B and S/A drivers but not if I am on 99 for SR, as soon as I hit 99 the A drivers beat me like I owe them money.

Well, I thought I had figured out the safest way to start a SPA race... When I start on the outside I now always delay my start not to get BS penalties in T1 or rammed off, soon enough to stay in draft range, late enough to stay out of the way or so I thought.

I still finished 4th in that race, lap 1 really doesn't matter.

One thing I like to address is boost blocking. It's called an overtake button but just about everyone uses it to try to block overtakes on the safest places of the track. Since you can't go faster than 305 kph, it is effective, yet leads to slowing each other down instead of swapping places back and forth while both gaining from it.

Here it was the final lap, so sure understandable. I would still have saved my boost to overtake again on the final flat out section to the chicane where the limiter is not a factor, but he chose to force my hand. Then this happens

And I made another enemy judging by the reaction in the post race chat. I kept my line, but a lag spike triggered at the worst moment. It's a risk you take every time while overtaking or defending in a corner. So pls use the overtake button to overtake and not to block!

I have been enjoying the last of the clean races this morning at Spa. It's been pretty good with top 5 finishes every race. Better enjoy it now. From next week all the schools will be closed for at least 3 weeks, maybe longer :/ Maybe I'll squeeze in one or two more later, before the schools go out.

One reason I like this race and loved autopolis Red Bull jr was I think a wheel is an advantage.
Plus with downforce cars they slow very fast if you lift even without braking also full lock steering scrubs speed quite a bit.
I just think it’s easiER to hit better times with less steering angle on wheel, plus easier to modulate throttle because button 0-100 percent in half inch vs pedal 0-100 percent 4 inches...
There’s a point with downforce where you HAVE to go faster to get enough grip...
I’m decent in race but there’s a few fellas out there turnin 56 in race.
Clean air consistent mid 58 seems competitive to me in most A lobbies.
Get to mid 59 and above and you won’t break draft...
It gets much tougher if you get stuck in traffic behind people trying to run two wide in dumb places especially lap one because people behind get big eyes and think they are faster than they are...
Gotta lay back and take advantage of their compromised exit speeds.
Use overtake button in top gear gains lots of speed.
Sven had great points too on when to use overtake.
I think in these cars you have to think ahead more...
On wheel they are not twitchy at all. I run my times tcs 3 abs default on wheel...

I can't find the pace at Spa after around 10 races and watching a few leaderboard replays. I'm often donating DR and finishing in the bottom half. Running 2:01s and 2:02s in later laps with my best at a little under 2:01. I think this car has always been a tough nut to crack for me.

I might try again with the DS4 to see how I compare for times. Fun race but not so for my DR and probably taking a trip back to DR C if this continues after a pretty successful Brands run last week. Hopefully next week's races will be more favorable.

Race win No. 10 at BMB. My 1st race win was at the same track an age ago.
I think I cheated because I used the Subaru tho
That makes my race to win conversion 1 in 160 races, think I still need more practice

Edit.
I meant the Mitsubishi, get confused in the excitement ;)
& win No. 11, bugger, meant to be reducing my DR

Next week
A: Gr.X - Sardegna C - 5 laps - SH
B: Gr.3 - Maggiore II - 4 laps - RH
C: N200 (1 make) - Autopolis - 8 laps - SH - x1 fuel, x15 tyres
Would the Gr.X be karts since the first FIA Nations season race will be karts?

And am I wrong to think that the C race will involve no pit? I mean... why bother doing a fuel and tire spec if they'll likely not factor into the race.

Been a while since I've been here! Been a while since I did a race of any description. But Spa in Super Formula seemed too good to miss!

Mostly been using my original account racing from the back and it's been a lot of fun. Picked up some really good results, managed a podium, should have managed two but for some contact through Pouhon as I was around the outside (he had had some contact towards it and was slow - around the outside there isn't a normal move!) and took my race from the back account to 38k so it now gets into some good level splits.

Then tonight, just to meet the daily marathon I entered with my main GT account.

Started 3rd behind Luxembourg landonorris (is it the real one?!) and JimBracer, with Josete and CoqueLopez doing their drive through the field jobs. So some quick drivers! Basically cutting a long story short, JimBracer backed off after Raidillon on L1 to seemingly go from the back himself. I ended up 5th at the end, but seriously, how ******* fast are those top split guys?!

Coque was in my last race on my run from the back account and he wasn't using his boost so I guess that was adding to his challenge, when he was behind me out of La Source I boosted a little and he absolutely flew past me out of Raidillon! Then disappeared by Pouhon, same with Josete, almost like I was standing still.

I'm at nearly 58k and competitive at it most of the time, always thought these guys were next level anyway, where even if I improve by a second I still can't compete with them. Changed my mind, they're many levels ahead of next level!!

Edit: They did use the boost in the race, something I was too dumb to think of! Boosted through Eau Rouge and passed out of Raidillon doing about 10mph more than me. Sorted out my overtakes for tomorrow anyway! If I get chance to get on

15x is pretty high. 120 laps on a set of tyres around Autopolis is a lot. Not sure of the pit stop duration but in an N200 car the time lost on worn tyres could be significant enough to make it a one stop. Something like the S2000, GT86 etc takes a while to get around that circuit and there's a lot of cornering.
