Some seriously sketchy penalties in race C. It pays to know the game logic but some of it is just ********.

This just happened in one of my races. Driver went from SR S to SR C. Perhaps on piece of contact was a penalty - a nudge in the back (but I don't think it was). Somewhere in Russia, someone is VERY pissed off right now.



The lagging car gave half the field penalties and pushed several cars off for zero penalty, including myself.

After watching that, it appears GTS had Coronavirus already!! Staying waaaaaaaaaay away from the Dailies this week!

Not to bad but the penalty system with grid start and daily racers = Bad idea lolll on my first race this morning im on pole and got a good start guy behind not even in my radar dive inside my right door and floor it literary to push me out he got 1sec penalty i got 10sec lollllllllllll ?

Damn, he was getting them even being on the inside! Haven't seen that for quite a while.

It's not that bad, usual rules apply: Drive defensively and try and read what's happening around you. You will get penalties "given" to you by other people. That's no different from Spa. I'm maintaining DR A SR S on my account with no qualifying.

Honestly, I truly didn't see this one coming. :lol: I was expecting karts. Shouldn't it be a Model X though, since that's the group it's in? :lol: Also, does it drive like a boat?

Don’t try to trail brake if you like your ass end behind you, and keep it nice and gentle coming around the bends.

The Kart is the only vehicle in the game that I can control better with the steering sensitivity turned down.
 
So I couldnt resist and done 2 races C. I must say it was great! Very clean close and respectful driving from people I raced with. Of course penalty system punished some drivers for nothing, but generally it was ok(beacause it wasnt me:)) Gained 1,2k DR my QT 2,14.526 and opt .130
 
Got exited for La Maggiore Gr3, i love that combo!
Got sad when it was the wrong way around...

Is it just me or is T1 Autopolis haunted by all things unholy? Its a half blind of camber horror story!

I hope you are having a good time out there anyway!
 
Ooof I usually favor race C but that T1 is going to be hit or miss.

I opted to not even race in C last week, I watched the circus and said nooooopppe.

I had 2 weird penalties in Race B earlier today.

Coming into the final slow esses, a Ford dive bombs into the corner, and misses me on entry, but as we go both turn left they hit my right rear with their front left. I get a 1 second penalty yet was the inside car.

Race 2, 2nd lap, coming into the left hander that is T13. A Mazda dive bombs me as we're in about to turn left, we're both in the middle of the track. I get a 1 second penalty as I'm the outside 'aggressor' and we drive off, but about 1/4 second after the Mazda hit me, I hear a car go off behind us, and I suddenly get a 4 second penalty for forcing a car off track. WTF?

I check the reply, and indeed a car (A Beetle) did go off behind us, but was nowhere near me or the Mazda, yet I somehow got the penalty. Just weird. Bye-bye SR, and the reason I'm staying away. I know the penalty system is messed up, but we're now appearing to be getting ghost penalties!!!
 
Haven't entered an online 'race' for one and a half year now. (I drive with friends occasionally, but basically just lapping offline.)
I usually come here to read how's going, hoping that some day this product (GTS) will be ready.

What can I say compensating all these... Well done Polyphony Digital, nice work. Congratulations for your success.
I will be happily paying for being a betatester or crash test dummy in your next online attempt also.

It's deceptively tricky. Brake early, coast to the apex, power out. If you're around other cars, remember inside line is king for penalty purposes. Don't punt, but you're less likely to get a side on penalty.
 
Well, tried Race B and "casually" picked up 9s of penalties just by racing and keeping to the line. All caused by people barge passing and diving at my inside. This isn't racing anymore and the penalty system is completely backwards. Probably leaning towards a week of hotlapping/playing other games instead, lol. Good luck out there.
 
Looks like I’ll be stuck at home racing now. All my jobs just canceled over Corona. Insert lots of expletives here.

After last week's fun at Spa in Super Formula, this week's Daily Races are insufferable.... I Won't (can't) even bother racing a car in silence (Tesla)! Even worse is that it handles like a turd on a stick! :dopey: :lol:

Yup same. Not gonna touch this rubbish selection. And will pubby lobby if i get the urge to race. Currently playing a completely different game as I type. So thanks PD for giving me the week off, with your dire and completely non race car centric set of joke races 👍
 
Geez, that was scary, and hilarious at the same time. It was like watching a game of Under 12's Australian Football, with all the kiddies swarming around the ball from one end of the ground to the other.

I needed that beer, enjoy this first lap of total fail from the drivers, including me, and a game that does not make it easier for anyone.



When I watched the replay it occurred to me that one of the reasons things often go so bad is that it really lacks any kind of contact physics between cars.

We are never supposed to touch each other but the game isn't built around that fact.

Same here in Denver. Forced to work remotely until April 3rd.

And all bars and restaurants are now closed until May 11th as of tomorrow morning.

Autopolis is going to start like la source at Spa most races only it'll be harder to pass down the track. Driving that Tesla Tank on race A is going to be utter chaos. and. umm. I just suck at Maggiore so oh well for that one. I have to give credit that breaking out the Tesla is a new combo but the others are sort of blah at best, punt fest at worst.

Wow. I thought I'd give Race C a shot being that Autopolis is one of my better tracks. (Maybe that just because I've raced it so much. What'ya think PD?) Holy Crap. I was one of maybe 5-6 DR.B drivers in a lobby of A and A+'s. And my DR's just above 14k! Man, I thought jamming to the inside was bad in lower lobbies. I lost count of how many times I left people zero space to the inside and I got t-boned at the apex anyway. I somehow ended up P13 after all that and gain ~100 DR for being probably the lowest rated person on the grid.

Yeah, F this race. I think I'm pretty much doing FIA practice this week.
