Gr.3 with BOP on, tires and fuel on x2. Which is better overall, Toyota Supra GR or Nissan GT-R?

The Nissan clearly has more power but over a 45 or 90 minute race with x2 fuel I feel it will be worse than others because of it's higher power, right? The Supra by the numbers is more well rounded. I don't have time to sit down and test each so which should I pick for a series?

OK, I will give you an apology: I am sorry that I wrote redacted when I ment edited. English is not my first, or even second language.
The fact is that I made my statement about the general statement YOU made about racing from the back and saying something like "there is bound to be contact when there is a 20 second difference in Qt".
I said nothing about your specific incident, because there where absolutely no mention of a single incident.
If you where refering to a spetincident it was not in any way clear from the beginning.
Now when you clarified I said that I can't speak of a single incident without a clip. Then you tell me this is wrong.
If you read my statement again you will see I speak of a general attitude. And because of your post, before the edit, I took it as if you where part of that attitude.
If not then fine. If you are then fine. I am not going to spend more time on this.
I stand for what I wrote, based on the original post.
I would apologize if I did what you accuse me off. But I didn't.

Went it today, expecting just to race clean and not get SR downs, since I am not very fond of Lake Maggiore.
Anyways, after 2 laps and a half of time qualifiers, I had the layout of the track in my head.
Qualifiers are over, and upon checking the list of racers, I found out I was one spot before last.
"No big deal" I said to myself. Afterall, I wasn't trying to compete.
Just trying to have some "fun".
So the moment the race started, two already had spun out.
That put me from 14 to 12th.
On the second lap, I take 2 more that had hit each other and had time penalties.
Now I was in 10th place.
Beginning of 3rd lap, I was still 10th place till I overtook 2 dirty drivers that were going at each other.
After passing them, a quarter of a lap later, one of them tried to punt me on the lower incline to the left hanger.
I was like "oh no boy. I am not battling today. I'll let you pass".
As a result of this maneuver, I got passed by another guy.
I was back in 10th place again.
Then, by the end of the last lap, I passed the guy that had punt me before and did it again, except this time, I was able to recover the line and was still on track.
He decided to back off.
By the end of the race, another guy who was playing dirty, spun off.
Karma is b... son.
Race over.
8th place.
Climbed 7 places, silver star for clean racing.

You judged me/called me dirty and lumped me in as “part of the problem”. I showed how you were wrong about me and provided video evidence. And people who are calm don’t use excessive exclamation points while scolding

While you’re comments would be correct, in regards to guys who are dirty. They were incorrect in regards to myself. You jumped to conclusions and that was your mistake. That’s where you owed me the apology, for making wild assumptions about me. “I’m sorry for misunderstanding the context and calling you a dirty driver”. There was that so hard?

Instead you’ve back pedaled. You’re clearly incapable of acknowledging your mistake. Guess we will leave it at that eh.

As for the no qualifiers who are fast, my biggest issue is when they moan after the race about the difficulties passing the field. Easy solution fast guy, is to qualify. Otherwise you're just trying to be a professional victim.

Nice job! I was down to D/E, but now I'm back to C/S (just) with a handful of races from the back. Just finished P2, twice, where the pole was within a couple tenths of my best. Was only 2.5 seconds behing on the last race. Both had a top 5 within a second of my best, and I had some good battles! The 3rd place finisher put up a good fight in both, but made an error and I got by. Maybe I'll see you sometime later. That would be fun, working traffic, and if we get clear of the pack, draft passing to make time on the leader.

Edit: I am extra carefull when I race from the back, because I agree with @RacingGrandpa that when doing this, it's not right to upset anyone elses race. From watching @Deadpool 's clip, I would say he feels the same. I think it helps my racing, but also the racing of all the guys I pass, especially if they keep me in sight for a bit. I know when someone passes me thats faster, I learn as I try to hang on. For me, that's the best way to get up to speed!

I’ve been racing in a small league for close to a decade, the guys are all clean gentlemen drivers, but they are a lot slower so we do a penalty system. It’s made me a much better racer having to adapt to my weight penalty which ranges from 30% up to my current 47% penalty lol. I’ve had to focus on momentum driving and consistency to overcome the lack of power/speed plus extra tire wear from the weight.

If we’re all trying to be clean, everyone learns/benefits. My 2hr race at the Ring this week was that way. Started at the back in the RSR and hadn’t practiced so I just chilled and followed the others while gradually acclimating myself and building speed. Big plus of that is saving tires.
If you can keep the guy in front of you within a second and use his draft, just stay there for a few laps and let him get flustered from pressure. And if he doesn’t crack, you now have tires that are 1-2 laps fresher, now when you attack he will be a sitting duck and you’ll pull away with ease.

One thing that sucks is if you’re in on main wanting to compete and there’s other good drivers you want to race but they are no qual.
I was taking a lot of A plus easy points at Spa.
Pretty much most c races I do generally have a fast no qual in there.
My gripe is if they bump others out of the way on purpose to try to do last to first or something like make a show off video.
I will shut them down if they’ve done that to me before. Dirty? Maybe but morally correct also imo.
No qual is fine, just don’t be a jerk about it and if someone starts racing you hard midfield and they are lower rank treat them with respect and show them the right way to overtake.
I’ve definitely seen every side of this as have most here.
I think a lot of the folks at B sr have because when I was in there as one of max 3 A there were many out to kill me. It’s like they see A and go nuclear. I’ve got some vicious replays of Maggiore.
I kinda feel personally dealing with all of this gives the game variety.
If the game never pissed me off it would probably be too boring.
OT the 86 gr4 odo and fuel gauges work in cockpit. Racing sans HUD from cockpit gives the game an immersive look, and if you do a tiny bit of basic math you could do races with pit stops pretty easily.

No worries, I def understand your frustration with those drivers, they piss me off too. Everything is a opening for them, but usually that’s a do or die move which is BS because they would never attempt it in real life. And I get why you thought I might have been, some of us use the term “bump” differently. For me a bump is a tiny love tap that was unintentional and harmless, we’ve all had them and I feel like most of us know when it’s unintentional and think nothing of it.

I had that last night when the final race had a A+ on pole. I still had fun trying to catch him, but that race I would have preferred to use my reg account and have a great battle.

I'm accepting the challenge again, to get the most out of the GR.4 Atenza. Next week's Interlagos, coupled with today's FIA Manu, I want to optimise it's performance(best way would be to use something else ).

Anywho, I'll save the Nurb Supra for the FIA Nations. Interlagos will be a learning week. Can I save tyres for the end of the race? Do I pit early for fresh tyres and cruise to the finish? Do I push hard and see how long the fronts last?

Main factors will be, who I'm racing. If it's an 86 fest, pick a "weak" player and see if I can hang with that one.
Also, where I qualify. I'm going to have to. AWD grip will help in the bowl section for a few laps. After that, I'll be a sitting duck.

Those videos I posted earlier, the Lancer seems to work well there. WRX isn't a slouch either. Huracan users may stick their heads in. So, I'll aim for any AWD as my competition.

Some of you folks need to realise that not everyone has the right skill set to get out of the lower levels and D or C level races are all they have. They don’t want to come second to a gloating “expert”. Just read these forums, it’s easy to see who those people are.

Why remove any chance of a win or podium from lesser players because it’s fun, it’s a training exercise, it’s waiting for them to crack.....it’s “seal clubbing” or “Fight club”!

Depends on context. And time of day (late races tend to lump everyone together).

Sure with a Alt account, the first few races will be against the lowest denominator. But after a few races to get your SR rating up you’ll move into B/S and have a larger challenge.

Also you need to realize that even with our primary account, we probably would have been in the same room regardless. Take last night for example, race 2-4 I was in a room with A/A+ on pole setting 2:12-14 times. So instead of starting from the front and beating the B/C drivers by just running away, I opted to handicap myself and giving those B racers a chance.

The D/C drivers vanish after T1/2 anyways, and then you have the B’s who are quick enough to make you have to work for the pass. Which helps both you and them. Benefit for them......provided the Alt account isn’t being a douche, is they can have a battle with a driver who has control and can show them what clean moves are. And hopefully they see the value of clean battling.

One race I lost to a B because I messed up. Had I qualified I would have been miles ahead. We have tons of nights where there simply isn’t competition. So why not give ourselves a challenge?

Then there is too much information on the screen that interferes with the rear view mirror.
That and the fact that the view is not realistic.
Try driving your car in real life and you'll realize that your view shifts from panoramic view on road to the rear view mirror to the speedometer.
You have 3 views in total.
5 if you count the left and right sideview mirrors.
Too much valuable information to cram on a static view.
I mean it looks nice but it is useless to me.

As a very recent addition to the 'Alt club' I will weigh in as well. I am not out there to go beat the stuffing out of lower rated players or anything. Many of us I know use it as a chance to enter the races and combos that would end up wiping out our main account. My goal when I started the account was to get back to my natural B/S level as quickly as possible. There I can get into races like race A this week where it was SR carnage and not worry about destroying my main account.

I ran quite a few race C on that account with no qualifying, but the idea was to avoid the carnage on the first lap and slowly work my way up if I could. Several times I lost to a couple of the C or D drivers as they defended like a champ and left me no openings. They raced smart and clean and won. If I cant race clean I don't really want to play villain and I will do something else. I am not going to smash people out of the way unless they have been doing it to me or others.

For all the talk about being stuck with massively better drivers I still face that most days on main as it stands. Getting into lobbies with A+ drivers doing the no qualify thing and having to deal with A drivers coming back from penalties or mistakes simply barging everyone out of the way. Last race C on main I was stuck behind 3 drivers in a pack battling. I was faster but couldn't work through. The A+ guy coming from behind raced me clean for a couple of corners then simply ran me off the road on exit of the second hairpin. They then proceeded to do the same moves on the group ahead. That type of driver is the problem. I just want clean fun races. I do get frustrated stuck behind a slower driver, but a lot of that is due to my inability to find a way by cleanly. I can be grumpy but have to give them credit for doing it right. The ones that are a problem are the ones that do nasty blocking. Running you off road if you get beside, swerving in front of you while braking or brake checking you to stop a slipstream. These people are at all the ranks, doesnt matter main or alt account.

Long winded post over. Off to get my tail handed to me at Suzuka and interlagos next week as I am below average at my rank for those.

I know I said I was going to wait until next week, but I impulsively jumped into a couple race C this afternoon and found the racing a lot cleaner than Monday; first race I started 12th with no qualifying time, jumped a few positions on the start as 9th false-started and 8th stalled (didn't start, not sure why.) First turn was the typical melee, I planted myself in the middle of the track before the braking point and left a car's width on the inside, dodged a car that locked up, went around a slow car and wound up in sixth. Fifth place went really deep into the second hairpin, so I drove through to the inside on the normal line, they cut back underneath me and tried to drive me off the track 🤬 but fortunately I kept two wheels on the black stuff and had better exit speed and took the spot. I followed about a second aft of the 2nd-4th group for a couple laps then 4th had a big slide in the middle of turn 15 on lap 4 that allowed me to go around them on the inside in 16 and 17. 3rd place went into the pits to gift me a podium spot, and then we all just drove around in formation for the second half of the race.

Before the second race I ran a few laps of quali, nailed a 2:13.5, which was two hundredths off pole for the next race (in a higher SR split.) Used the same line through T1, first pulled a bit of a gap but I kept the rest of the field behind me and that was about all the action for the whole race. I do think I overdrove the front tires on the first couple laps in this one trying to keep up with first because I couldn't manage 2:16s anymore by the end. Tire wear is still important even if pit strategery isn't. 💡

Cockpit is really hit or miss. Some cars are useless with zero mirrors of any kind. And then you have gems like the RSR where I have a giant rear view monitor and a side mirror giving me invaluable info. For online I avoid using cars without at least a rear mirror.

The GT86 is meh, the mirror is blocked by the standings which is annoying, and no view of side mirrors.

PD really should give us the ability to turn on virtual mirrors. I get it, they want the cockpit 100% accurate. Well with VR that’s fine, but a static screen means losing mirrors for a lot of cars. Giving us the option for virtual mirrors would fix a lot of issues. Even bumper cam would be great to have mini side mirrors in the corner of the screen.

The goal is good clean racing, but the lack of mirrors for certain views really hurts that and causes a lot of crashes where guys simply are unaware of you being there. Not talking dive bombers, even normal passing.

I used to notice no diference from start to finish, but now there is a large block of red (especially on the fronts) and grip is very much edgier in the second half of the race. If nobody answers this time, i promise I won't spam the board!

Ok, I gotcha now. No, it’s not like VR (I’ve never tried VR but almost certain it’s make me motion sick)
Also I am not going to really try to argue viewpoint or controller vs wheel or what have you because there is too large a disparity between players in every way.
I only pointed out the fuel gauge and odo working in the 86 gt4 because I use that view and it does suck the rear view has things overlaid so my choice will be to turn HUD off most likely for use.
Everyone’s different but we can all race, that’s why GTS is the best thing out right now for ps4.

I missed your prior post. Are you saying this weeks race C changed midweek?

I only raced last night so I cant say. I barely used my fronts, thin red bar at end, but I noticed others had used 1/4-1/3rd of their tires.

I don't know, I am starting to think it's not a language barrier but a region barrier. I understand that in the Americas region and in the Oceanic region it's much more common with mixed DR in lobbies.
I am in EMEA and I rarely see a lobby with anyone at a different DR. To see an A+ or even an A is very rare at low B where I am.
So when I see someone starting from behind with no quali, often in a car that's not meta and then being in mid field in 1/2 or 1 lap 1 know I have to pull over. If I defend I am pushed off. Every single time.
Not once has I stayed to defend and survived. So now I don't defend, if I pull over it costs me a spot, sometimes two because the alt has a pilot fish tagging along, if I defend it costs me a trip to the gravel.
So it's not a surprise that I don't like people doing that.
I don't really care if it's for a challenge or to get the trophy or what.

I have no problems with people who Has an alt to keep their main clean, and the alt is almost or at the same level.
Neither do I have a problem with the one that races clean,but I very seldom see one (perhaps because I take that away by pulling over and signalling them past, but track record makes it sane) but the entitled spoiled ones who put their"fun" over our racing I simply loathe.

I posted a thread showing certain cars cockpit information. As stated above, it is hit or miss with the car one chooses.

The Citroen is ridiculous in cockpit.
The OyVeyron has a huge rearview camera which I myself, can't read the gauge info. Mustang, WRX and Megane FF are perfect, but have the generic info display. Huracan, TT, NSX have all the info a player needs, but on my 36" tv, I can barely read the info unless I move closer. Same with the RC F. Those even display fuel numbers(though it counts up rather than to zero), have everything for the driver, but it's a small readout. Ferraris are good too.

Both Atenzas have good cockpit views, but the hood cam is so high and too far forward, it's best to use cockpit.

Both 4C feel fine. However, the left A-pillar/rollbar can get in the field of vision during cornering.

Vantage, Cayman and 86 have stock gauges, though the Vantage at least has another digital display(Should have more info).

Anyway, every display should show current lap, lap time, fuel to empty, fastest lap and +/- sector split time.

I only raced last night so I cant say. I barely used my fronts, thin red bar at end, but I noticed others had used 1/4-1/3rd of their tires.

No problem Yes, midweek, which seems unlikely I know. But I've previously noticed less wear than we've seen with the Pug VGT in the FIA races tonight, whereas now the red bar is between a quarter and a third of the way down for the front tyres.

i can't put it down to me being more aggressive in my driving style because I've been the opposite, trying to recover my rating fom the depths of the pre-maintenance penalty hell. Just seems like 'stealth-tweaking' whether PD intended it or not.

I don't know, I am starting to think it's not a language barrier bit a region barrier. I understand that in the Americas region and in the Oceanic region it's much more common with mixed DR in lobbies.
I am in EMEA and I rarely see a lobby with anyone at a different DR. To see an A+ or even an A is very rare at low B where I am.
So when I see someone starting from behind with no quali, often in a car that's not meta and then being in mid field in 1/2 or 1 lap 1 know I have to pull over. If I defend I am pushed off. Every single time.
Not once has I stayed to defend and survived. So now I don't defend, if I pull over it costs me a spot, sometimes two because the alt has a pilot fish tagging along, if I defend it costs me a trip to the gravel.
So it's not a surprise that I don't like people doing that.
I don't really care if it's for a challenge or to get the trophy or what.

I have no problems with people who Has an alt to keep their main clean, and the alt is almost or at the same level.
Neither do I have a problem with the one that races clean,but I very seldom see one (perhaps because I take that away by pulling over and signalling them past, but track record makes it sane) but the entitled spoiled ones who put their"fun" over our racing I simply loathe.

Nobody ever answered my original post on this (so maybe I should interpret that as a "no"!) but has anybody noticed tyre wear is now very much a thing in the current Race C, following the penalty maintenance? I used to notice no diference from start to finish, but now there is a large block of red (especially on the fronts) and grip is very much edgier in the second half of the race. If nobody answers this time, i promise I won't spam the board!

@RacingGrandpa you could be right about it being a region thing. Last night I had 1 race with 11 B/S driver and 1 A starting from the rear. I also had my race C lobby with 4 A drivers, about 5 of us Bs, and a mix of C and D to fill the full 20. By the time we hit the second hairpin on lap 1 there was a 2.5 second gap between me in p10 as the last of the B and A and the C driver in p11. Mixed fields are very very common here. And when I was struggling to learn in C and D rankings I found myself getting slaughtered quite a few times by substantially better fields. I definitely know that sinking feeling when i see the grid lineup, i have qualified on basically a unicorn lap and i am still starting last by a large margin. Those races suck and i hope for disconnects ahead.
