Driving the Audi in Race B today but my brake points are all off. If I brake by the cones, it is way to late.
Anyone have shifted the Brake Balance or anything for this to drive they way it should ?
Hmm, would like to see my skill level compared to my age peers![]()
Two important things to keep in mind for Brands Hatch are rotation and patience. Surtees is a good example for patience. If you use the cone markers, use the entire width of the track at entrance, but angle the car just a bit in towards the left before you brake (the curb/painted run off on the right is deadly if you go too wide/long on braking), then brake hard at the cone and release brake smooth, but early. From here use very light throttle and steer towards apex. Don't use the inside curb. You know you hit it correct if you can keep light throttle and just barely make it over left to the apex with most of the turning complete. This is where you need to be patient, throttle too soon and you go wide or oversteer. Increase throttle around the white line going across the road.A good opportunity to learn then
I really tried on Brands last night, but I just can't take that first long corner (Hawthorn) fast enough... I either carry too much speed and go wide, or not enough speed and lose time. The other one I struggle with is Surtees... again, I either go too wide or brake too early and lose momentum. So frustrating but I think I will just have to say it's not my track..
The one good thing to come of it though, is I learnt to drive the M4 with no assists which was pleasing as I couldn't do this a few weeks ago without spinning.
Now that would be an interesting statistic. Speaking as an old fart, myself.
Well I'm 56 ... so ,,,, who's the old fart :-)
Any tips for Megane Gr4 brake bias for Interlagos?
Usually my front tires are over too soon.
In which race?![]()
A few other cars do, too.Anybody else noticed that the R8 ghost drives around with the windscreen wipers up?![]()
I run -3 (which I believe is stronger front brakes), and get better turn in. I'll try +2/3 and see what the difference is. Not really upto speed on best brake bias settings.I was struggling to with the Audi, took me a few laps to get used to the brakes. I have them 2 towards the rear, brake a few meters earlier than the cones and gradually brake later as you get used to the car and make sure your off the throttle a bit earlier to. I am only getting 2.00.079 but took me a few laps to get under 2min 3 sec.
A and C for meDaily Race A: 4C Launch Edition '14 at Alsace Village (3 Laps)
Daily Race B: Gr.3 at Big Willow (6 Laps)
Daily Race C: Gr.4 at Suzuka (8 Laps, 7x Fuel, 8x Tyres)
That's brilliant! I'm 38 and hope I'm still playing in my 50s (or simulating, as I tend to say when explaining GTS...)You are! But not by much. I'm a spry 53.
