Jumping into Race C for my first set of daily races this week. Hoping I don't bang a fist into the wall. Also hoping 132.5 is good for favorable grid position for DR B but everything I've read so far from you guys is that it's likely better being at the back going into T1/L1.

With 1.32.5 you re starting from behind in emea (I'm your fellow bs, I just started p14 with 1.31.4 :( ) but yes, turn 1 is a nightmare, so you should be able to gain 3 4 positions there, enjoy!

Yeah, that was good for p14. Need to get to low 131s for decent position. But weird thing about this race, is there's at least 4-6 people who quit after a few laps. Don't get it. Granted I may have been lucky, but didn't experience anything but good, clean driving so far.

Jesus, I had forgotten how hard it is to design liveries for Hybrid Gr.1 cars...
Like, even if you can get around the technical tricks to get your decals where you want them, it's still very tricky to get a decent looking design....

Finally first podium at fuji and almost lost this time as well. Second time it happened to me that while I m in 3rd, people doing two stops catch me on the last corner of the last lap, but I still prefer one stop. Maybe I should start on hard instead of medium?

I've been doing 3 stops on Race C. Six laps on hards then changing for a second set of mediums end of lap 10. Not the fastest strategy but you can really start reeling in people on the last few laps that are on well worn hards.

I've been sticking to the NSX 08 because it looks and sounds awesome and just generally trying to stay out of trouble as I'm not the fastest on this combo with a 1.31.7

Next week is three circuits I love so looking forward to that. What car do people think will be fastest at DT, for me I would imagine the RS01 as it will take the COD almost flatout.

Emboldened by some fun racing in @Pigems lobby I went out for some more race A. Bad idea, still a punt fest with no conscience and no consequences for the punters. SR gone down for getting blasted off track twice by overeager late brakers. Still did better at the start than I had been doing. One person has as their intro 'if it is ok by the penalty system ok by me.' I might have to punt them clean off track next race and see what they think.

Just had an amazing race in daily B using the 86. Qualified in pole and had a marginal lead for the first lap. Second lap I am at the chicane and the Audi behind me goes full send and ends up knocking me off track putting me 3 seconds behind. In most circumstances this would make me want to lose my mind and rage out of frustration but I decided I’ll see if I can make a comeback. So I push for the next couple laps and I find myself right behind him on the final lap after he makes a mistake coming through the chicane. That mistake was just enough to get me on the inside of him for the hairpin. We come up to the breaking point and I break just slightly later hoping it would be enough. I turn in, get on the throttle early, make my overtake, and fly off into the sunset which is victory lane! What a way to end the night :)

You mean 2 stops., 4/6/3, right?
Yeah that was the alternative, and I tried it a couple of times, but the main difference I found out is that with 1 stop I m usually able to run the last few laps with clean air and be very consistent on 1.34,with 2 stops i m in the traffic again and not able to be that quicker

This is a good week for racing if you are a D rating in the B daily race the track is forgiving and drivers can give room for passing and you do not have to take a impassible line into a turn. I for one have more fun racing in a pack of drivers looking to finish third then being out front with a quarter track lead for any finish. Remember any finish other then last place is a win.

Group 1 has been absent from the roster for far too long. I might actually come back to the daily races next week.

Agreed.

I tend to only do daily races when it's a config that I enjoy racing and that I know I can be somewhat competitive at... and Gr.1 @ Sarthe is the config of the gods.

Such an enjoyable track/car combo, with quite a few viable options, absolutely can't wait.

Yep, well replace 787B with 962 C or LM55 for me. I don't remember racing in the TSO50 once, way more fun in Gr.Cs.

I actually enjoy the Toyota just because it feels like you can be far more aggressive with it and make less mistakes.

My favourite car to use for that track/car combo though is the 908... That thing is an absolute monster, and it's competitive, but it's soooooo difficult to drive with a controller and no traction, super hard to not make mistakes and get the most out of it, but I'll still try.

Is Hyundai good at all? I always see them in last in World Tour Manufacturer Series events, and in my experience using the Gr.4 car they have, I’m about four seconds off from a lot of the top ten times for Daily Race B this week. Even with the buffs it gets via BoP, does Hyundai just suck in general?

On a side-note, could someone tell me why some automakers are typically absent from World Tour events? Idk if I’ve ever seem McLaren or Lamborghini, for example. It feels like the top five are always the same automakers, too, between Audi, Toyota, Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, with maybe Aston Martin in there.

I setup a Mclaren for the B race my best time was 1/2 sec off my best time with 458 drove it only in one race it was a joy to drive , will drive it more in future.

"there’s no point in working hard, because it doesn’t work. And I suppose that viewpoint that I want to run from is what leads me to get angry when I lose in competitive videogames."

This is what makes iracing, And probably real racing such a niche and very unique sport. For example, Most sports requiring team effort have that inbuilt support system to where everyone works in tandem to achieve victory. I speak for myself when I say at this point, My greatest opponent is myself, Although I am in competition with other drivers; I am competing first with myself to constantly improve.
*Back to my original point. Racing is unique and of its own because it makes us angry and keeps us hungry by its very nature.

Then I may very well give up, put GT Sport back in its case, and let it collect dust, when that "hunger" makes me want to break stuff. In fact, I think I may even just toss it into a Goodwill bin. It's a trash game that only sold on brand recognition and looking pretty, and because it was the first installment on PS4. I have too many issues with this game. I've spent enough time on it. I'm moving on.

I might see you all in GT7 if it ends up being any good, and not just a PS5 tech demo. But right now I have too many personal issues to keep doing ranked online racing in GTS. It just makes me want to throw the CD at the wall and watch it shatter.

Congrats on your WIN , I don’t know how many A B C drivers you had in your race but I have found a the lot of D rating I have been driving with were great competitors .

Thank you  I really need to do race C more because for whatever reason race B has absolutely tanked my SR lately :(

For your own sake I think that's a good call.
It would seem that you think it's not only a waste of time but a source of negative energy.
So walk away and feel better. But remember that the problem is between you and the game, it's not just the game.
We are many that feel different about it.

Wow things just got real on b race.
B S like 4 crb wins in a row, then matched third behind TT on pole Huracan behind.
Lap one the Huracan makes a dive into the chicane, I hung back but had to cut the exit bad to avoid.
One second. When serving I immediately feel impacts boom sr downs pens five seconds...
Holy crap what a horrid room.
Now racing B B. This should be good.
:)

It’s too bad there isn’t some sort of unranked mode that allows for the same coordination and organization as the usual races, but oh well. I’m giving up. I’m tired of trying my best every time, only to not see any improvement because I never win. At some point I just needed to realize I don’t really want to play GT to be the best at it. I really was thinking of donating the game, too, if it weren’t for the additions of GT League events. I think I may be done.

908 was on par with the TS050 until it got fuel nerfed although it's still good. I'll be honest, the most enjoyable part of Le Mans is speeding past Hybrids on straights in my LM55 and giving them the middle finger.

not this again. Play in lobbies if it bothers you so much. This is the nature of competitive game modes, just quit or stop whining.

See, there is your problem. I have a win percent of around 1. And I still find the game not just addictive, but also highly entertaining and still adrenaline inducing.

To play GTS to be best of it... Well, there can be only one.
Out of hundreds of thousands. If one can't find joy in the hard, fair battles that comes often enough to make the dirty drivers a problem one can live with then it is indeed a better move to leave the game.

I hav3 been here at GT Planet for about a year and a half and when ever I see you post it's negative. I think you make a wise decision. Walk away and don't look back.

Race B. What happened to you? The Huracan BULLies are out in force. The Evo brigade are tame compared to what the hell is going on now... And that was only one race! I better stay away before the Manufacturers race or I'll wind up racing those knuckleheads this evening.

I know you have been enjoying it all week, but that sounds like what I have been getting in the back of the pack all week. None of us have the pace to escape each other and it starts to become total anarchy. Hope they improve for you.

I am only taking out the alt tonight. Hoping I can milk race C this coming week to get close to DR A so I can tick that off a list and bail on ratings to just tace whatever whenever permanently.

It happens when I lose my momentum to two or three cars fighting ahead. I usually have a gap to the car behind. What that does for them is keep pace. When they catch up to me in the mayhem, I just get barged out the way. I know they're coming and I give room simply to avoid them having to run me wide... AND THEY STILL DO IT!!!

I had to punt a Huracan on the run to the final corner. It runs wide at The Four Brothers, collects a .5 second. So, I take wide right. Right up against the wall from the tunnel to the final corner. At the braking signs, the freaking player starts bumping me more right! That's not lag, latency, nothing of the sort. It's just not either seeing me(don't know how, the Supra is loud enough), being a putz, trying to intimidate that I'll back off so it can run the optimum line in the corner. I brake at my braking point, the Huracan is a fraction later. I'm braking already, it jumps in front me(you all know I hate that crap), I'm at the point I have to turn in on the racing line *bump* I'm thru.

While I'm looking back, it's fighting with the players that caught up to it. Just ridiculous in a mostly A/S room. Only player I recognised, was the Pole sitter/winner.

Has not improved. Once in the 86 and once in the Supra. The Evo guys are fighting off the WRXs and both are making sure Huracans and anyone using something else, don't finish ahead of them.

I did thank the player behind me for a clean race. I recognised them from earlier in the week. That player is quick in the Evo, but got a couple penalties from other players. Didn't force an inside move at the final corner.

Edit: And again... in the RC F. I typed "Stop the dvebombing" before I left. There's a player in an Evo and a player in white WRX. Too aggressive in the braking zone. USE YOUR DAMN BRAKES BEFORE REACHING THE CORNER!!!!

Was doing so well in daily race B was up to 62k in dr and then I come across a absolute Muppet french driver with a A+ dr rating but was as dirty as the local dump he proceeds to dive bomb hit me punt me at every corner and then when I ask for a explanation he says I thought you was someone else

People holding grudges should at least be sure about the psn they hold it against.
And the majority of grudges are likely misjudged from the get go.
Typically people doesn't view the replay before assigning blame.
I am no Saint, if someone clearly punts me or force me wide to get a clear advantage I'll redo the favour in the same race. But I never carried it into another race. It's always clean slate.
