I just run my daily mileage in the 787 and made just under 2 secs on my best lap 👍 I reckon I can get another second or so.. but no way it can go as fast as the Alpine or the LMP cars.. Those 3'16's are stupid fast

Will try again tomorrow considering we have plenty of time being grounded and not allowed to play out :p:tup:

Btw I mapped my wheel to allow the window wipers and tried to stop the blade at the side of the windscreen but it kept resetting back to the middle :dunce:

Probably because that's most aerodynamic, and maybe that way IRL.

I still have 1 last goal to knock my DR to A at least once to say I made it before I pull the plug and just race. I am naturally a B driver,
Same here, yesterday finally I got into A, thrn jumped into Nations and faced reality, dream is over;) Its brutal but truth, I dont belong there:( Maybe in sone other combo like in saturday gr2 or gr1 on RBR I can keep up with A drivers pace. But if someday someone ask me, "hey grandpa, have you ever been A driver?" I proudly say: yes I was:D 20-25k DR is my place:) Good luck for you getting into A, you surely can make it!

Congrats! I saw you earlier today rockin the 787. Fun car to drive
I thought it was you! Nice meeting someone from here in race. That race I was blocked for three laps by two LM55's going side by side for half the map.
Great paint job. 👍

Thanks! It's inspired by an airplane, Iceland Airs Hekla Aurora

The challenge is though, how close can you get to a TS050 race time in a 962? Not - can you beat "X" level of driver. Which car is fastest over the five laps with a x5 fuel multiplier? Personally I think the Porsche would do very well to be within 5s of the Toyota’s time

I ran one from the front, starting on pole. My total time was 17:16. Which I suppose, puts me out of reach of the fastest Toyota times, but when it’s a race, as long as you are ahead of them coming into the front straight, you should be able to get back by them by the end of the lap. If you are behind at that point, you lose too much in the first sector to catch back up on the straights. So I’m not sure if this settles it or not.

Thanks. I know I am a B driver as for normal but I sometimes have combos or good weeks and have been at 29k and high 28k. Just feel like it would be worth it to push and get it once. That's the only reason I am working hard on the SR at 99 for the moment. Once or if I make it I know it'll be a quick drop back to B, but whatever. It will be fun pushing for it this week.
Congrats on you getting there too for however long it lasts.

Same here guys! I just want to see that A letter in my profile at least once and then get eaten alive and quietly go back to my b status. 27.8k now maybe I can do it this week with a few good races at dragon trail. Good luck guys!

Tried driving the R18, dropped a fairly decent lap (24.1 with a .5 second penalty served because of Dunlop being inconsistent)... optimal was a 22.7 but I can't seem to string it all together..
Really struggling with fuel though, are the Toyotas that good on fuel compared to the others? I have to go to Map 3 with some short shifting if I want to have any hope of finishing/having a quick final lap but no matter what I try the Toyotas just fly by me

What is the best Daily for getting SR back, just had two race Cs with total clowns ramming and diving everywhere, lost over 60 SR, could be worse I guess. The driver ramming me in the last race went straight from B to E. Had to laugh he took me out at the final chicane on lap 5 and got himself a 3 second pen, so still I won anyways. Total dumbass move.

I suggest C, its long and pretty wide track... If you want to gain SR sometimes you must sacrifice DR... Im not saying that you stop on the straight and let everybody go, but if you really want gain SR dont fight as much as usually:) or pit stop, dont change tyres and wait until the end of race:)

Yeah, definitely have to go for race C, but possibly sacrifice DR. Just had the dirtiest race at le mans I have ever been in. Punted 3 times, got penalized for both. Also got penalized for hitting a ghosted car spinng to add to my trouble. Had worked up to p5 pushing p4 in an A heavy room when one prick came into arnage and wiped out 4 of us. I got the 2 sec, guy in p6 got 1 sec. Punter got 0.5 for cutting corner, and finished p4 with a blue S. Now to gamble in SR A as I dropped 21 in that battle.

I ran two C yesterday. SR 99 going in, SR 99 going out. Inspite of track penalties and being bumped

Edit: +1600 Dr too

Yeah I know C is usual best, find it frustrating when people don't race, I guess ramming is a lot easier than braking! Next race out was taken twice at Mulsanne deliberately still finished 5th but the rammers got 2nd and 4th and blue SR. Both times neither driver received a penalty but my race was ruined by those plebs. +9 SR

I keep an eye in my rear view mirror, yesterday I had to over brake and go deep twice to let a dive-bomber flash by into a wall.

That is easy if there not diving from half a mile back, I was already at the apex both times then bang am off. The only way to avoid those crashes would have been to not brake an just crash anyway? Why no SR down at the corner for punting someone off though PD?
If there is no punishment what is the deterrent? According to the current penalty its a fair pass?
I guess its my fault for playing with these fools, I think PD wants people to stop playing the game, they must be wanting to save money and less people online playing equals lower server cost? Instead they could just save money by actual banning some of the worst offenders, reporting seems to do nothing at the moment. If you get a blue SR for ramming the game is clearly broken.....

It must look very funny:) There is also option of pausing the game and ghost-mode car, but some of players call it a cheat... Last week C race on Fuji one guy in prerace chat said "pauding is cheatig", I dont know whos Im cheating, divebomber? He feels "cheated" beacause he cant use me as brakes?

Eh, back at it again in a crap lobby. 3 laps with 1 guy just determined to not let me pass him on the straight, and pushes me wide every time he came by. Just let him go as trying to salvage SR but it didn't work. The few contacts I got were enough to eat away. Only up 7 SR. Going to be another mixed lobby with lots of bumpers me thinks.
Oh well, could be worse, I could be working instead of already home for the night.

The Peugeot is the Race B Meta.. that is pretty clear, i did my usual rounds in the BMW M6, got down to a ok time for me, took the Meta out and in 2 laps i was over a second faster on a lap that wasn't perfect or "luck", what!

I am simply not experienced enough to notice, but what are this cars exact strengths??

Yep, that's how I see it. I see it as even if the Porsche is ahead, at some point the Toyota will get past through the hybrid zones at Indianapolis/Arnage and once it's leading into the Porsche curves it's the end of the contest, it would just pull away too much before you get to the straights again

Thanks 👍

So I'm finding myself confused with trying to do a race time for Race C this week.

So far I have tried a number of cars for qualifying Audi R18, Toyota TS030, TS050, Apline VGT and the best time I have clocked is 3:29 but usually I can break 3:25's to 3:23's without an issue around La Sarthe.

Am guessing I am just not braking correctly so loosing speed through corners and the chicanes, I have an old lap from when I was able to do quicker times but I can't use it as a ghost but am I missing something obvious Brake Balance/TC wise or is there a different meta I should try to use.

Wondering if I should be using a Grp C but somehow I just don't feel it would give me a quicker lap time though I seem to be able to drive them better...

It's funny...reading this conversation. I was of the same opinion of myself. I finally hit DR A when we had the tuned RX-7 at Tsukuba. It was a good combo for me, and I won almost every race I entered that week. I finished 2nd a bunch of times, all to my region's #10 driver. I remember coming here and saying I didn't belong in A. I was now getting mid-pack starting spots in most races. Guess what? I was a solid A for over a month. I had a 2 day drop back to B about a week in, but settled in around 35-37k, and was maintaining pretty easily until a certain puntfest that knocked me to SR-D (E?) And reset me to 15k. I did change my race strategy to maintain the A, though. During those weeks, I qualified on all 3 races, and picked the one that I liked best. That's the race I would run on my A account. I never entered a race cold, which is a biggie for me. I can't hop in a race, even one I've been racing all week, without a handfull of laps to get up to speed. I could 30 years ago, but not any more. I would also drive more like I do in real life...caution on the first lap while tires warm, watching for bad drivers and their stunts. Another thing that many seem to have a problem with...if I have, say a 2 second gap behind me, and I run a clean lap and the guy behind still reels me in, when he catches up, I move over and give him the inside, maybe brake a bit early to make it obvious, then I latch on to his bumper, and maybe learn something. At the least, he'll give me a tow and I might make up some extra spots with his help, but if he reels me in when I'm driving well, trying to keep him behind will just slow us both, and won't last long, and may not end well. I may not be so nice if it's the last lap, though.
Anyway, the point tobthis long ramble is, you may be suprised...I was. Let's not forget, either, that the race that started the tumble down to a low B was an A, A+ SR 99 room. I had some great races at DR-A, and I think I also had at least one win every week, except maybe the last since my A was toast that week the first races I entered. Should have tested the waters with my alt...live and learn:cheers:

Well, I hope to find it out soon!
Thank for the tips!

Good morning friends.
My race c research thus far indicates that on c race if you choose group C it’s best to not qualify. I flirted with the podium but finished fifth in my best result. I never finished below 10th. (That race should have been better but there was a problematic Alpine that hit me 3-5 times I can’t remember just wrecked my race)
The group c will get mugged by dirty/hyper aggressive players in most lobbies lap 1 if starting towards the front from what I have seen. (I ran no qual)
:::COUGH Thets050or919are the clear best choicesCOUGH:::
@Ashthebash I gotta eat some crow, but only because you can’t trust people to race clean for the most part, whether it’s honest mistakes or not.
From my hybrid testing Im only a second back on qual but I’m quite sure those are better battlebot cars.
Tonight I will use my qual time and a :( hybrid.
@mistahmca said it...This race is sponsored by ts050.
I was so pumped to pit group c vs LMP and it’s fun from the back but 5-6-7 is about what I get.
I may try once from further up the grid, but in online racing I’d almost always rather have a car that can sustain banging.
That is all. Sometimes you gotta eat a bit of crow.

Good morning friends.

So if Group C is not good in a qualified race what's best alternative the TS050.

As I said in my earlier post I am struggling to hook a lap for qualifying well and have a 3:29 but can't seem to find a good car, the other
thing I forget to mention is I'm still an automatic driver, would try to learn manual make that much of a difference?

If you can learn MT. It's a great advantage. I see that from the people winning over me (I'm AT too).

Edit:TS050 is the king of this race because it's fuel consumption is in a class of it's own, not because it's fastest on a lap. The hybrids brake about the same distance from the curve so they don't get punted much.
In a C class you accelerate a little slower (not much if you turn TCS to 3) and you have to brake a little earlier, that's the reason for most of the punts. I think the majority of the punting is due to ignorance not dirty driving.
Now if you focus on slow in-fast out in a group C you can often be passed by a hybrid just at turn in so remember to make space. If you do you will catch it again a few hundred yards after the curve and pass them fast.
The hybrids are faster from the last Porsche curve til you pass the Ford chikanes, same speed approximately to Huniermeres(spelling?) and then you rule the other parts.
There is a replay of me in a 787b against another one and a alpine and a hybrid on my TCP_RacingGranpa psn.

If on ds4 I am not your resource.
Turn on driving line and cones if on wheel. Staying on driving line plus tcs 3 nets me about a 25.5 avg on ts050 when warmed up. Still learning the track better...
I’d say auto is probably a good choice if you’re not experienced on the paddles.
I use manual always. Best c group shift points are marked on the tach.
Slower in aggressive out. Don’t buy a 919.

I agree. Sounds like you're using a ds4? Manual gears makes it easier to set your speed. Every corner will have a gear you need to be in for that corner. Shift points can help with your driving..for instance, while driving Tokyo in the Alfa (gr4), I was coming out too wide, and tapping the wall when I got on the gas as early as I wanted. I entered that corner in third gear. I had to either get on the gas later, or I ended up backing out as I revved 3rd on exit. There was a 3rd solution, which gained me some speed down the straight. I short shifted into 4th, right at or just past the apex. The off throttle time for the shift allowed the car to tighten its line for a fraction of a sec, and that kept me from brushing the wall. Also gained me 1-2 mph all the way down the straight compared to anything I tried while holding 3rd gear to the max. Downshifts can help with braking, especially in 4wd, but can also get you sideways on entry. All in all, a big advantage if used properly.
