My time for Race A is 2:46.154, would you say that's good? On one hand, it's #48 in my region as of today, but it's also off the top time by over three seconds. Maybe there's just more of a skill ceiling when it comes to wet tracks?
I did 1:43.412 following Mistah MCA lap guide on YouTube i really like his lap guide well explained . Im 4 in my region right in front of him :)👍

I don't know who you're racing, but is Fuel 3 am option? I've only tried it in the one race using the R92CP. It gives anything faster than the hybrids, a chance to pass, but saved me fuel. I had 2.4 laps starting Lap 4. Not sure how the 962 is with fuel economy.
I have been no stopping the 962 all week so far. FM 2 at the start, rev it out until I hit 4th gear on the straight, then shifting at about 2/3 of the rev bar for the rest of the lap except exiting corvette. Usually have enough to blast FM 1 full for the straight on lap 4 and all of lap 5. Usually ending with 0.2 or 0.3 laps left in tank.👍
Not super fast, running 28 or 29 lap times that way, but man the hybrids get twitchy that last stretch when you have been close enough for a little battle, then suddenly launch it on the end like that.:D
I also don't know if I am just getting worse drivers, but I have found if I nail the correct turn in for Porsche i don't actually lose time through that twisty section until corvette. Ford Chicanes and dunlop is another story though.

Edit, have also noted that with other GR C cars in my races I have kept almost the same speed as them even though I am fuel saving by being smoother through the chicanes on the straight and by killing mulsanne and the indy and arnage complex. Smooth and don't overdrive trying to brake late. Get an early turn in and smooth power out.

I noticed chasing vs leading last lap the dirty air at Porsche.
I was running down 2 ts050 there and went wide on entry almost off you can feel that. Gr c likes clean air.
I’m really curious what others results are timewise just running fm1 shifting end of purple. Seemed to work well for me...Going to flashing then shifting burns fuel very rapidly, I’m not even sure it’s any faster or if so how much...

I noticed on the fuel and shifting that it was good for getting up to full speed a bit faster. That gave me much bigger gains down the straights but wasn't worth much on the twisty bits. It definitely gets through the revs faster in FM1 but shifting right at the top instead of banging it at purple actually seemed to help. Especially going from 2nd to 3rd gear. I do know it eats up a much bigger fuel load to rev it all the way out though. There is a driver in A/S I have raced a bunch who was going full out in the 962 with me for 1 race last night and he only made up about 1 to 1.5 seconds over the 3 laps before he pitted. Taking pit and traffic into account I beat him by 7 seconds in the end so I don't know what it is worth. Getting a draft on the start of the straight or as you catch the hybrids definitely gets you a speed boost as well. If it is timed right it is pretty close to having it in FM1.

As for dirty air, I have noticed it in the hard braking zones but not as bad in porsche. I remember it being nasty on the TS050, but I also wasn't nearly as fast back then either.

@Redneckchef
Cool. I swear too much power is bad in the twistes. That car has a lot of torque for tall gears methinks...
I like third...
Thanks for the input!
I have only been using 2nd gear out of the ford chicane, dunlop, mulsanne and arnage. And with the little bit of wheelspin I have been getting out of mulsanne I am debating rethinking that for a few testing laps after work tonight. Found the slight lag by staying in 3rd for the chicanes on the straight was more than made up for with the extra stability and lack of wheel spin.

I can say that someone in a 787 was eating me up out of those corners last night in my first race, so there is definitely speed to be had there. I am only TCS 2 though, so might have to test turning it up a click. Also have BB 2 to the rear and it has helped make front tire wear minimal.

I had to serve a .5 penalty, so the 908 went past me. No big deal, I'll get him on the next straight.
Approaching chicane#2, he braked sooner than I expected. I've driven the 908, so I know it doesn't need to brake that soon.
Nevertheless, I swerved to try to miss him, but I caught a small piece. Immediately I knew I was going to wait for him regain his position. :guilty:
He freaked out, I guess. Mr. no TCS made an abrupt maneuver to hit me and lost control of his car.
I never saw another car for the remainder of the race. 👍

A small bump in a braking zone is not an intentional punt. It's Wednesday. People should know that by now.
*I got a clean race bonus.

How do you get that face decal on the car? I want that!
Had a couple like that myself. Both times i have been punted by someone else while waiting to give the spot back. This Gr. 1 business seems to make people a bit more touchy than normal.

@Groundfish Glad I could help any. You are much faster than me but every little bit helps. Drive what works for you as always.

Not a decal. That's my Top Gun Maverick helmet.
It doesn't even really look like it does in the video. I guess because the sun's shining right on it.

The Toyota is meta for the race but it has always been my favorite Gr1 car. I feel like it has the most power out of all the LMP1’s when it’s in hybrid mode, it’s a monster out of slow and medium corners. For me that’s what makes it so enjoyable.

It’s so fast that it almost feels like an overtaking aid, but then they come right back at you on the straight. Lol

Damn. Oh well. My shiny helmet doesnt seem to show through my windscreen on replay. That would be nice if you could put something like that on. Except for those on cockpit view.
I do have to admit that my love of bad cheesy movies and terrible 80s songs has this playing in my head if I am coming through tertre rouge battling a pack of toyotas in the last 2 laps knowing I am about to punch it in FM 1.

First win.
Switched to manual gears and tried to keep it clean for the race.
Glad I did it as I very nearly called it a night after losing my C rating following a couple of races where everyone that got near me shunted me off the track.

Reviewed the DR and my rating has halved over the space of 4 races thanks to 3 bad lobbies where I got punted off in each race. Coincides with me changing over to manual and being able to overtake people down the inside. Common occurance is to make the overtake only to be taken out at the next corner.

How about late 70's?

It sure would be nice if we had this version of the Trans Am in the game.
Whoever decided to put the de-tuned version in the game is really 🤬 stupid.

Well, I apologize for the negativity and rage before my friends.
I don’t always roll up my sleeves, but when I do I put the Nissan r92 on pole and go flat out to victory.

@sturk0167 you told me when you made that livery to win a race with it...I love that car. That is my favorite group c. I’m goin no strategy flat out with fuel splash lap 4. It’s not gonna win top lobbies, but it’s to me it’s how I’m gonna run it.
Seems like it’s not as much of a .5 magnet as the 962...Superstition???

Saw your follow-up, but race C is a different scene early in the morning. Varied with S down to C but noticably less bs to deal with. Good variation of car choice too... Less than half were hybrids yesterday.

All my friends who went in tonight got dirty dives from ts050.
From here on in I’m goin flatout r92. I have a sick custom livery sturk made, and tbh it’s more stable than 962 for me and good on tires.
FLATOUT fuel lap 4. Tcs 3 bb0.
If you get out front you can possibly break draft, then it’s a race. Ts050 pushing/fighting etc. i gapped the ts050 by almost seven seconds when an A was behind. Throw in a limits pen or 2 yotas that fight...You got a fighting chance.
I’m still learning the track tho total racetime 17:32 on my win flatout, did get a .5.
I’d love to run AM but can’t this week. I did run across a few real racers tho not just arcade battlebot Mickey Mouse idiot divebomb ram artists...
I’m goin every race flatout till weeks end.
:)

Loving this round

The reason I don't use it much in the faster races cars, is that it really distracts me from the other things I need to do.
When I'm responsible for the shifts, it often pulls my attention away from braking and turn-in points. And many times, I've forgotten what gear I was in and downshifted one too many times, spinning myself out.
I don't pay attention to what gear I'm in on most tracks, I just learn how many downshifts to get the correct gear for each corner. It's not the gear suggested by the game except for about 1 turn out of five or six and is sometimes two gears higher than suggested.

I'm less impressed with the wins than I am with the Clean Race Bonuses. Given how tight the track limits are, that takes some doing! :scared:

Especially for race Cs. If you can get away with taller gears you save a lot of fuel. I find I'm using higher gears, but as tyre wear kicks in I have to drop gears on corner entry to turn in, then up again as soon as it stable.

And it is done! My races are over for the night, time to get some qualifying times and practices in. I have made it to A/S. For at least 1 night. Am not racing again until the day clock rolls over to keep the rating on my record. Then it is whatever may come.👍:D

Someone didn't want to make it easy. First race starting p9 I got punted as soon as it started by the hybrid behind me, and again into dunlop. Fought back to p10, night got better from there

Race C yesterday was the worst I've ever encountered. Was on a new seal clubbing account which I recently got to a level that would start me with a low A+ or 2.

Some Greek guy I had raced several times before started on pole and I was 2nd. He had usually been faster than me in previous races but I was improving and I noticed he flaps a bit under slight pressure.

So I was about to overtake him half way down the 2nd big straight on the inside, he just side swipes me into the wall! Very strange behaviour from someone who as far as saw had been clean. But you know that way you can tell something is gonna happen?

I got him back but he still went on to lead while I quit. But I went back on later and noticed he had lost his A+ at some point and I got him back several times after that. He learned the hard way and will continue to if we ever cross paths again.

Then while building my SR back up I got rammed several times and pushed off by several different people. Made it from last to first a couple of times and last to 2nd. It's very sad that people come on this game to play like that. But I guess they haven't felt the satisfaction of a good clean race before.
