Holy crap.Sarthe dropped me to SR.E
Sarthe dropped me to SR.E today thanks to the crash kiddies, then the races finally got clean in SR.C. There I had a couple awesome close contact free battles with Argentina and Brazil. No TS050s down here, plenty GR.C cars and TS030s for whatever reason. I ended with a second place finish with clean race bonus after drafting and swapping places with a 787B for the first 3 laps, still starting from the back. Half the field quits down here though....
So still possible to find good races, but it takes a lot of tries to finally get matched with the right people. Meanwhile my DR was reset to 7K when my SR was all the way down to 6 from BS penalties getting rammed off. Now back to 9.5K and 51 SR, back in SR.B where there were zero clean racers before. So good time to start on dinner while downloading Uncharted 4.
Over 31K DR down, but I did finally find two clean races in a row!
I'm not such a fast racer or even that consistent but I do try my best , clean racing is by far better than the manic punt fest's I have been in recently.
I do wonder why it seems after reading several times on this thread that people have such a bad case of Revenge !
I understand that someone has just spoilt the race for you but why have all the stress of retribution.
Even to hunt down the offender in another lobby is just childish in my opinion , I may be wrong but surely if people stop the "getting back" then it may in fact reduce the first instances of punting in the future.
I can’t get a clean race.
Tapped from behind on the first lap guaranteed.
Got back up to C/S and called it a night.
If we were all like him there'd be no dirty drivers.God forbid we were all like you and just let dirty players have their way.
If we were all like him there'd be no dirty drivers.
And in fairness, a large fraction of those thought of as dirty are not dirty with intent. They're either incompetent or driving laggy connections, mostly the former.
I count driving beyond one's racecraft skill level as incompetent, no matter how quickly and consistenly one can lap in practice and qualifying. Many of these drivers have never watched a replay of themselves from the other cars persective so they don't even realise what tossers they are in a race.
Frankly, drivers opinions of their own skill level are little more inflated in this game than they are in real life. Ask just about any speeding driver, stop sign runner, etc and among their justifications is "and I'm a good driver, I can handle it...".
There are definitely a large number of drivers who are using the idea of 'no penalty no problem' in their justification of their driving.Plus one, but on NA when you start playing say 45k to 60k there’s a fair amount who make those points off the nose stick and baby shove. That’s their bread and butter I go nuclear when they try it on me over time they will learn.
But you hit on the key point of all lack of skill, plus “I have an unbeatable car” So many can drive fast but no idea how to race. It’s one reason I’m always pushing Ross Bentley.
On c race imo the safest play is flatout group c. Whatever car you can drive best. It’s fun and you pretty much control entries to braking zones. I got from B to 99 tonight just by drivin smart. Top fives...Racecraft, Thanks Ultimate Speed Secrets book. There’s absolute gold all through it. Should be required reading for all...
Lmao tonight I was victimized by idiocy but didn’t retaliate now I’m 99 as usual.
Today was a good day.

C'mon, you were up to B rank not long ago. Not like the people who randomly start threads talking about hacking and cheats and the like when they are getting massively out driven.<perk> Did I hear someone say incompetent? You rang?
Race B has trashed my DR rating more than any weekly race in a very long time. Not sure why -- I usually do OK on this track. And once you slip into a C rating, it becomes a total puntfest. It's like I'm trapped now. Anyone else? Finally on attempt #223 I managed to get the win on Race B.
As an added bonus, with my consistent garnering of 500-1000 DR points per race, this victory has taken me into A Rating

I think I'm cheating this week, but last week your Race B Q time was better than mine so you were cheating...If I'm being massively out driven, it means people are cheating. Which means I'm the *only* person playing this game that isn't cheating......
You can FM the group of S curves leading into the finish and be okay not messing around anywhere else. Also FM once you hit low/mid 5th gear on straights. Is it best to not stop or pit in the 962?
On FM2 it barely lasts the whole race
So only the Porsche Curves and the one after it? What FM should I go there? You can FM the group of S curves leading into the finish and be okay not messing around anywhere else. Also FM once you hit low/mid 5th gear on straights.
Whatever the last sector is. Not sure of the names. There are 4 or 5 grooving bends before the final penalty slow down area before the finish line.So only the Porsche Curves and the one after it? What FM should I go there?
Was also short shifting (3/4 of guage) through almost the whole race
Yup, those are the Porsche Curves I believeWhatever the last sector is. Not sure of the names. There are 4 or 5 grooving bends before the final penalty slow down area before the finish line.
Think I went to 3. Maybe 4. I went FM 4-6 once I hit around 200mph/320kph.Yup, those are the Porsche Curves I believe
Should I wack the FM up to 6 there?

It all depends on your driving style. I no stop in the 962. I go FM 2 and rev 3rd all the way out at the start. Then shift 2/3 of the rev bar for 3rd and 4th rest of time. Leave it in 3rd gear for the chicanes on the main straight. I can then usually have enough to switch back to FM1 for lap 5, but still short shifting in the curves and that small straight after mulsanne. Is it best to not stop or pit in the 962?

I think same discussion was here 2 months ago? So I repeat my opinionThat's not what we were discussing. We weren't talking about some sort of utopia or lack of skill.

I've just got to throw it out there, the Beemer M3 is a massively fun gr3 ride in race B at DTS.
Not as slow top end as you'd think, and it goes through the CoD like it's on rails.
Also puts the power down like it's got TCS on.
