And it is done! My races are over for the night, time to get some qualifying times and practices in. I have made it to A/S. For at least 1 night. Am not racing again until the day clock rolls over to keep the rating on my record. Then it is whatever may come.👍:D

Someone didn't want to make it easy. First race starting p9 I got punted as soon as it started by the hybrid behind me, and again into dunlop. Fought back to p10, night got better from there
Well deserved. I think time will show you that you really are A material.

What would have been an already good night ended up becoming a great night. After messing around a bit on Dirt Rally 2.0 with some friends, our friend Lester wanted to do a race or two at Daily Race A (spoiler: it ended up being four or five races). Deafsun and I accepted the invitation. We had some great battles, and even started messing with each other a bit, until Lester and I ended up killing each other at the chicane.

We even got a couple more friends to join on in. At that point, it got super meme-y with someone punting us.
But the greatest thing that happened tonight was me finally getting that 100th victory.

It took me over two years to finally get to this point. Why I didn't try to get it sooner, that's a good question that I'll never be able to answer. But to get this while racing with Lester, Deafsun, and the gang, it was a sweet, sweet 100th victory.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. I also lost some SR in the shenanigans that happened here, which is clearly @sturk0167 's fault. Okay, I'm gonna disappear for now, bye!

Saw your follow-up, but race C is a different scene early in the morning. Varied with S down to C but noticably less bs to deal with. Good variation of car choice too... Less than half were hybrids yesterday.
I agree, I run mainly in the morning from 6 until 8, racing is pretty clean and I have had 4 wins this week already, 1 in the 962c and three in the 908Hdi easily my favourite combo for ages.

Wish I could like this more than once.

I'm not such a fast racer or even that consistent but I do try my best , clean racing is by far better than the manic punt fest's I have been in recently.

I do wonder why it seems after reading several times on this thread that people have such a bad case of Revenge !
I understand that someone has just spoilt the race for you but why have all the stress of retribution.

Even to hunt down the offender in another lobby is just childish in my opinion , I may be wrong but surely if people stop the "getting back" then it may in fact reduce the first instances of punting in the future.

It's not the gear suggested by the game except for about 1 turn out of five or six

I don't think I ever saw the suggested gear be right, it got to the point where I unsee it now.

I can't imagine using AT again, I'd feel less in control more on rails. MT is mostly down to muscle memory. I thought I couldn't handle it at first with there being so much else to think about. I kept at it and it became second nature after a while.

Congrats!
Here 29.3k, higher than ever, hope to join you soon!
C'mon, we are cheering for you. You got this:cheers::gtpflag:

@RacingGrandpa I thank you for the support, but I have too many tracks I just can't manage at the moment to lay claim to an A level normally. If I ever figure out Gr. 3 then maybe I can get there, but for now I will enjoy my little sojourn into a strange land.

It's less about revenge and more about them having done a lot of races and getting punted so many more times. The ramifications of this are that they are experiencing a psychotic break as a result ;).

Race C yesterday was the worst I've ever encountered. Was on a new seal clubbing account which I recently got to a level that would start me with a low A+ or 2.

Some Greek guy I had raced several times before started on pole and I was 2nd. He had usually been faster than me in previous races but I was improving and I noticed he flaps a bit under slight pressure.

So I was about to overtake him half way down the 2nd big straight on the inside, he just side swipes me into the wall! Very strange behaviour from someone who as far as saw had been clean. But you know that way you can tell something is gonna happen?

I got him back but he still went on to lead while I quit. But I went back on later and noticed he had lost his A+ at some point and I got him back several times after that. He learned the hard way and will continue to if we ever cross paths again.

Then while building my SR back up I got rammed several times and pushed off by several different people. Made it from last to first a couple of times and last to 2nd. It's very sad that people come on this game to play like that. But I guess they haven't felt the satisfaction of a good clean race before.
I think I raced him yesterday

Can't deny he's fast, but he picked up penalties and hurt his tires trying to catch me after that.

That’s exactly where I got to when I first reached A a few months back. Could only compete if the car and track combo was a good match and was way off pace in Gr3 on any track. Made me scared to race for a while until I forced myself to enter the Manufacturers series and focus only on Gr3 and 4.

Sacrificed loads of dr in the process or learning (a good 15k) but it massively helped and have now rebuilt last night back up to A.

@Redneckchef you know when you’ve reached a level you’ve got the ability to get there again - so it could be a short holiday for now, but a longer stint just round the corner.

I'm less impressed with the wins than I am with the Clean Race Bonuses. Given how tight the track limits are, that takes some doing! :scared:
Absolutely in agreement with that - nice work @adokeeffe

For me the second chicane on mulsanne and the turn leading into Indianapolis are like rolling a dice to see if a penalty is issued! Sorry, you rolled a 1 - here’s 1sec.

Started four races from 9th and the one race in the 962 from 5th.
Only races I didn't get punted, was using the C9 and 787B.

Did my fastest qualy in the 787B: 3:24.555.

962C: best fuel economy
XJR-9: worse fuel economy
C9: quickest to top speed
787B: slowest to top speed
Best handling: 787B
Easiest to drive: surprisingly, the R92CP
Overall best car for La Sarthe: All Group C cars!!!:sly:

Well it seems an old song from Duke Nukem Time to Kill 'The Thing I Hate" comes to mind today.

I improved my lap time on race C...3:26.158...

The sauce?

Mazda LM-55 VGT

Still well off the S/A/A+ times and the usual 3:23/3:24 but at least I have a lap I can work on improving now so I might actually get to go
racing during my long weekend but this game is a funny thing that the car I hate should be the tool that gives me a good lap time...

Gee i lost it during this race, i don't normally take it so serious but felt i drove as well as i can and was 10/10ths every lap. The red Supra passed me a little unfairly but i could live with it but the Porsche, really, man you were a car length back, you can't jump in there, you just can't. Cost me a win as the leader binned in on the last lap.

Just a rubbish move, absolute rubbish. Felt i drove hard and made good clean passes and deserved the win TBH.

Dropped my QT at Le Mans to 25.999 in the Peugeot HDi, that was after serving a 0.5 pen :banghead: Just when you think you've got the track limits sorted the boundary seems to move
At my highest DR rating ever mainly by picking my way through the wreckage. Have had some really good battles. Enjoying following people and working out where I'm faster and where I'm slower than them. I've even pulled off a few racing passes, also crashed and burned a few times

Aparently everyone but me got faster overnight. So i have been trying to improve my qt. It seems switching to manual to keep it out of second for most of the times the auto goes down that far is good for a decent chunk of time. I have yet to put a full lap down though. Rainy day making it hard to wake up lol

@milehighmadd didn't know you were on here. Was great racing with you yesterday morning:cheers:. We definitely seemed to have a good crowd there, in fact my whole morning was good yesterday.

Great racing with ya yesterday! You definitely inspired me to get the 962. Managed to no-stop with it within 30s of P1 while fuel mapping once I hit 180mph/300kph on straights and around all the S curves before the finish line.

Race B just a punt fest this week, from pole to last by the end of the first lap a few times now.

Edit got my race b qualifying to 40.5 but cant seem to string a decent lap on race c and struggling to get it below 3.32

But due to the poor driving in the races this week I don't have the motivation to try and improve.

Well done and well deserved.

I try to reserve that reaction for when I'm sure the person who punted me was the person at fault (not just a pinball) AND I have good reason to believe that it was deliberate or the result of criminal negligence. Last time I did it was for someone who tried to run me into the pit wall at Fuji after I'd made room for him to pass cleanly a couple of corners earlier.

The problems you run into on c are due to ‘meta mentality’
People using ts050 think they can outbrake corner accelerate every car.
It’s not what happens in races from what I’ve seen if you can quietly brake in a c car.
Abs default is fine, but ease into the pedal and back off if you hear squeal. They brake best under 100 percent input.
Ts050 is better, but most use 100 percent input which negates some advantage, plus in a c car you can pull gap into braking zone...
They think other cars don’t have a chance.
Maybe driven flawlessly in alien hands ts050 will be a lower time, but in racing you have to take into account the human factor.
The c car pulling gap on a person in this mindset causes different things to happen.
It’s a question of pressure. It’s a race not a 5 lap time trial.
I thought hybrid would be safer but it’s not. It’s too easy to get stuck in a pack and most players are not in control of ts050.
The c cars can escape and gap, or...
They can catch and be used as instruments of the devil...
Flatout!

Abs default is fine
BB0 works just fine in the group C cars, but using -1 or -2 will make all 4 tires wear evenly. 👍

Why I didn't try to get it sooner, that's a good question that I'll never be able to answer. But to get this while racing with Lester, Deafsun, and the gang, it was a sweet, sweet 100th victory.
If you start a new account, you should easily be able to get 100 wins in your first week.

It was a joke... I react similarly to you and I've played for a while to know whether a punt was intentional, a mistake or the result of someone else.

I swear if I return to 99 this week lap one there’s gonna be a pile of smoking ts050, IF it’s certain people. My time should put me no lower than 8 on the grid.
The c car can play hit and run too!!!
Plus, it’s fast!
@sturk0167 thanks for the tip there.
Also, you nailed that r92 livery! It matches the race, and my mentality. The 962 one rocks also but after using both, Nissan is my choice.
I think @05rx8 was right. It’s easier for me to use.
