Oh Le Mans, you beautiful beast. After more than 1,000 km of driving over the last two days I just did a 3:23.2 in race trim… no traffic, but obviously no slipstream either.

I surprised myself, that lap was pretty much as close to hooked up as I ever got this week. I was a bit more aggressive with the revs, and actually had to save a bit of fuel in the end. And, after watching the replay, I did cut it very fine with the track limits…

Unfortunately, we got robbed of what might have been a good battle thanks to a nonsensical time penalty for the driver behind… afterwards, they lost the slipstream and I think they just went into conservation mode.

I don’t doubt that there’s still more time to find, particularly through the slower sections (looking at you, Arnage), but all in all I’m very happy with my efforts this week.
I'm also struggling to find speed this week. I guess I'm just slow with this combo. I had to point something out to you, though. There is (typically) much more time to be made up in fast sections, than slow. Because you cover more ground at high speed. I find that slowing down going in, and getting on the gas earlier will net bigger gains than pushing on the brakes, or trying for ultimate corner speed. Of course, I still can't seem to get out of the 24's this week.

so there is no more middle ground concerning SR points, either you get the full points (10) , or you lose some at the first SR down , again great job PD
I got an SR down at the FIA race earlier today (slow Mercedes coming out of the chicane, just hit the back of it) and got a blue S (up three points from 96 to 99).

Got a SR down last night cause I hit the pit wall :banghead::lol:, with 1 lap to go. Finished with a blue SR and stayed 99.
I gave up trying to figure it out a long time ago.

Sven said if you get an SR down, along with a time penalty, it's -10 SR points. If you get SR down and no time penalty with it, it's a lower amount. Maybe -5?
I think he's right.

It changed. It used to be -3 for an SR Down without time penalty. Yet now it's -2 for a pit wall SR Down or the drive back and forth trick, yet the full -10 for an SR Down from another car. Since Sarthe is about 11 points, missing the one sector from a contact SR Down results in neutral SR, 2 contact SR Downs can drop you 10 SR for the race. FIA races are longer, worth more SR, so one SR Down is survivable. Race A and B, one SR Down is red SR.

I think it's still -5 SR for quitting. The one race where my kids got so loud I quit start of lap 4 didn't cost me any SR, thus had earned enough up to then.

The boost is still there at low SR. When I dropped to SR.E, even though I got hit and bumped off, blue C after the race. SR.D doesn't exist.

I dunno. Had a go at race C last night. Started on pole with my unicorn QT but went a hair wide heading to tertre rouge and dropped to p3. Made a few track limit mistakes just spacing out on braking point, and the leader is going away. Until lap 3 when he disconnects.

I inherit the lead and have a fantastic clean 2 lap battle with another driver, they were in the TS050. I ended up winning as I was holding back until the last lap for FM1 and was able to keep my gap heading through Porsche and corvette. Great way to go, but still only 6 SR.:odd:

Then I disconnected waiting for matchmaking in the next race. Took it as a sign, especially as I was feeling iffy. Decided to grab more beer and knock off the drifting points.

Ready for total destruction at Monza I guess. Taking out my purple Lexus.

how can you cut the playstation chicane so blatantly without penalties? especially the second part if i dip half a wheel on the kerb i get a penalty!
The penalties at LeMans aren't very consistent. There's at least 3 things in that lap that I've been penalized for. But sometimes I get away with it.
Either way, that was a great lap. He's way faster than I am.

Ah, just my luck. I tired to do some more races at Race A with the time I got, and I got some error message that indicated something wrong on their end, so I can't race even though my internet seems fine otherwise. Oh well, at least I'm looking forward to this next week's races, especially Race A, since I love Tokyo South. That said, I think I'll skip driving Monday, as there's meant to be some pretty nasty winds here and I don't wanna risk losing power during a race. Or worse, loading/saving!

23.2 is very good. Haven't seen much faster than that in A+ rooms apart from aliens starring at the back and getting most likely quadruple slip.

Well done! Must have been a great feeling, hope you stay in the top 10 by the end.

I'm going to miss this race. Wish it could stay forever, but I guess a lobby can be made.

This is my Q lap for Le Mans:

P8 in EMEA, quite happy with the lap honestly :) First time getting top 10 in the world as well :gtpflag:

I’ve had a very unusual week in race B, I’ve performed very well in just about every entry but have had some sort of tiny mistake or bad luck that costs me a lot in the final results. I almost dipped into DR C from like 18-20k DR at the start of the week.

Examples.

I’m able to lap consistently in the 1:39’s, and near my lowest dip I was basically supposed to have been handed a race win on a silver platter. Started pole and was never contested once in a single corner, managed to pull a hefty gap even with some mistakes. Final lap with a 7s lead I took the final high speed sweeper slightly too wide and touched the gravel, managing to spin five or so times before coming to a stop. Lost three positions. A Porsche spun in the death chicane, and another guy dove into the sand in the final corner, and I managed 2nd. This was my best result all week.

I had another where I made a minor mishap of the death chicane on the final lap. It wouldn’t have been that much of an issue but my nose dug into the left wall on the exit and for some reason my car didn’t seem to want to break contact and was sucked on at a weird angle. The game deemed that a 5s penalty for wall contact, and I lost out to a pack of five cars (7th to 12th) from the penalty.

I had three poles, and at least half my starts were in the top 4, in fact rarely do I remember starting lower than P8. The racing overall l was really good and I had a lot of great battles, but the circumstances surrounding my finishing positions and DR tank had me :banghead: all week.

I see Nordschleife is up next, hoping that can be more of a happy place this week. In fact all the combos look good so far but I don’t yet know what the provided cars are gonna be in races A & B.

I could've sworn there was a Race B, also at the Nordschleife, where everybody was told to bring their own Lancer Evo Final Edition. I think that's an N400 car, right? Maybe next week's Race B is a repeat of that. I suppose for all the crap I give Norschleife for lacking many places to pass, it is fun trying to just endure the track, and passing those who end up off-course. I'll definitely need to practice for my best 'Ring time, seems like the Nordschleife could be a repeat of Race A at Tokyo East (Wet) where there's a notably higher skill ceiling - this time, because the course is much longer and more technical, rather than being wet.

And even if Race A is gonna have us using the 86/BR-Z, I can't say I would mind, since I'm such a fan of Tokyo South. It's too bad there's no wet variants of the south courses yet.

I had an identical week. Maybe 2 decent results, the rest crap luck. Mostly clean racing. No complaints there. Close to the pack. Unfortunately at the back end. Similar drop in DR too.

I keep telling myself that as the DR goes down, the matchmaking gets more forgiving. ... But it hasn't felt that way at all.

My positive spin on it would be, more people and more wheel time means the competition is getting stronger which makes the game better. :D

What's the over/under on the Race A and B car being a 86.

Yep, that's the answer^. I got away with a lot of things in that lap funnily enough, including this absolutely filthy Tertre Rouge cut:

The new week of daily races have started... not sure what I like least, One Make races or Nurb Nord... so looks like it’s a week of Race C at Monza for me.

Any suggestions on a fun car for Monza? Otherwise I’ll use my trusty RSR

I tried th Supra the other day, but it's too slidey. Big Lex just hooks into the tarmac.

I think I’ve been having a lot more fun with the slidey Supra than I realised!
Been using it most of the week, and found it a bit difficult to adjust to the Lex (although only drove it for a short time)

The race info for Race C (Gr3 at Monza) says the maximum tyre rating is RM, minimum is RH.

Yet further down it says that RS, RM and RH are required (though you can't select RS tyres from the menu)

What's going on?
I found out last time I was only able to switch it by changing fronts first. If that doesnt work then I don't know what is going on. Will have a look at it later.

Yeah, that's what we have to do.

I was definitely quicker in the Supra. It's faster. I just prefer to know I have a more stable vehicle in my hands. ;)

Culled my agrage again. Have all the Poraches. Tried the 919. Had to switch between Fuel 2&3, plus short shifting a bit. Made it to the end, but the TS050 kept running me down in the straights. That was also while I'm in a tow behind another 919.

Going with the RSR at Monza.

May also try the 997.

Yeah iv noticed this. You cant choose soft tyres in qualifying or race so I'm guessing someone has forgot to check/uncheck a box in the settings.

Everyone in race is getting a 20 second penalty because the soft tyre is unavailable. Sure it will get fixed soon.

Maybe folk should let them know on Twitter. I would but I'm not on it
