Race B is fun. I'll take the RSR brakes and exit speed over the top speed and "slowness" of everyone else in the corners.
Yeah I didn’t have time for quali, so started at the back and ended up 9th... starting down grid means I avoided all the first lap punting

I went with RH for 3 laps then RM - seems to work okay, though might try 1 lap longer depending on gaps & traffic...

EDIT: Got worse traffic this time and stuck in the middle of a punt... 12th

Nope, you have to bleed off the penalties the old way, by slowing down.

I guess that's a good thing, it saves an entire 7 ~ 8 min lap becoming void because of a single 0.5 sec track penalty. I got one going downhill and was relieved I could slow down for it manually. I like that track limits were made stricter unlike recent Nordschleife races.

Maybe it's why the penalty zone was intentionally removed although I don't know whether it's back during an actual race.

No penalty zone in the race either 👍

I wanna hear thoughts on this, good move or not?
Last lap at Monza I'd finally caught up to this guy to be in range I'd seen all race he was weaving down the straights and shock he was still doing it haha, it's annoying but whatever

So I get right behind him into T1 force him narrow, then pull wide to give my self some nice space to brake into if needed, then he pulls back across in or just before the braking zone
So I ease the brakes and switch and go down the inside and he turns in a little on the early side considering there is a car along side
We make a little bit of contact we slow ourselves right down to go through the left part do the chicane, so I'm off the throttle waiting for him to go past basically and he over shoots and goes into the gavel, unless he was anticipating I'd go round the outside and run me out of road aha!
Either was I thought it was quite exciting and a cool move to make on the last lap

I've saved the replay so if you want to check it out and give your opinions would be greatly apprecisted, I think jts worth a watch lol

No penalty zone in the race either 👍

I was kind of fearing it wouldn't be, people slowing down at random, ghosting and unghosting to serve penalties could be chaotic on a narrow track. It's better if penalties were added on at the end.

Unrelated and pedantic but I'd like if the timeslot you entered a race reflected real world time in-game. Racing at Tokyo during night while it's day feels off. It also would be fun to race Nordschleife at night for once.

I've saved the replay but don't know how to upload it to here?
You can't, and in any case a replay file is just data which the game uses to reconstruct the race. What you need to do is use the PS4's inbuilt recording system - which is permanently capturing the last ten minutes of gameplay (by default; other time settings are available) so you can save it at any time, but can also be set to start and stop recording whenever you wish - to record the video of the race so we can see it. You can do it from the replay too, but it's not as instructive as the live gameplay.

Well another interesting Race C at Monza in the RSR - from 18th (no quali) to 9th by the end of the first lap, caught in a punt, spun on restart and clipped someone for a 4s penalty, ended up 20th with 10s gap to the car in front. Finished 16th and no SR down, so that’s something...

Every race so far has at least 6-8 GTR’s, I’m going to buy one to try it...

If you cross the finish line with even 0.01 penalty left you get a full one second penalty at race end.

I don't know if anyone has been having a hard time picking mediums to qualify with and hards to start the race with. I did, so i had to back out, and change it in my garage to start on a different tyre to what I qualified on.

I know. I'd prefer if penalties were added (unserved) at the end rather than allowing a car to serve them at any point during a race since it can potentially cause trouble for other drivers.

Before penalty zones were added to daily races, I often saw clowns slowing down to partially burn a penalty before speeding up again when someone was passing to block/brake check. At least with penalty zones, you'd know when cars will slow down and approximate when they unghost.

I’m done with Race B, down 5500 DR from B to C, and constant up/down SR.

Starting at the back, I’d guess I’m passing 15+ times each race, many of them twice and still coming 13-15th.

ubless the punting and penalty system is fixed, then I’ll try this type of race again...

Trying Race A now instead... If that sucks, I’ll take a week off I think!

Not a good week for improving DR - Monza is a puntfest, Nurburgring is nice for time trial but horror during races. I will stick to FIA and time trial this week...

Tried monza, very uneventful race, but a good p4 in the end. I was the only non gt-r in the top8...meh

Another week at Monza, another DR reset. I know I shouldn't have gone full revenge mode but had a decent looking race result coming when I was on the inside coming onto the start straight the guy on my left decides he is pitting!! (I had already pitted)
We collide he nearly rams me into the pit and he hits the pit wall, that's my fault apparently so I get 4 seconds of penalty. Was fuming so took him out the next lap. In the post race lobby he says he reported me, I said try radar?
Goodbye B/S welcome to C/D...
I am using the Aston, seems fairly decent here, I tried the Amg 16 that's ok. I think the Aston is better on the tires for me at least. Gotta love Monza, home off the punters, why cant they sort the ghosting at T1?
Guess what happened next race?
Yep turn 1 lap 1 and I brake fairly early just about to take the 1st apex and yet again I get hit from behind. You know what is coming, yeah I am to blame and get 4 second yet another unjustified penalty again.
Somehow I got a blue SR at the end though.
Next race exactly the same hit T1 just a 2 second penalty this time, am in a SR hole now, don't think I can climb out. At least not without changing to another race. Did a Race B this morning and that car with those tires is terrible on the pad. No feel at all, it feels more like a hovercraft than a car there is literally no feel or grip? Anyone else find this?

Was having a really good race in race C in the DBR9 and was fighting for 4th with 2 other cars when one of them just drives me into the gravel T2 and then some idiot Spaniard was just weaving all over the place gets angry he couldn't go around the outside of curva grande and just punts me off that the second chicane leaving me to finish P9. Really good clean race until that point though.

Edit: really like this combo and there are lots of really competitive cars here so anyone using the GT-R has no imagination :lol:

Fighting evil....with mixed results....So I decided to give Race C a crack. I started P10/20 on a mixed grid of DR/B/C/D. I qualified on mediums, but started the race on hards. What is with it with the GT-R's? There was 9 of the buggers in my race!

The race starts and T1 wasn't the complete Monza that we expected. Was nice not starting behind a friggin corner or chicane for a bloody change . I had some pretty clean racing with side by sides, although some people had a hard time working out that if there is a car next to you, they arn't going to just move aside onto the grass for you to get on the racing line. I was having a hard time with penalties, and cars that were loosing it in the tyre department. I pitted on lap 7 and came out in P7. I was right behind a Lambo who had tyre issues. He lost it in front of me, spinning me out and I dropped back to P14. I had other issues, so I couldn't pass, but in the end I finished P11 courtesy of 20s penalties. I sent a PSN message to the guy who finished P3 to let him in on why he came 3rd and not 1st. His post race message was "wtf? again?"

Since fuel is a non issue, balls to the wall seems to be the way to go. The hards were starting to go off lap 5ish, so I knew I had to make them last a bit further...mediums would have been shredded with me driving after 5 laps.

SR went up 8, DR went up about 150 despite not finishing in the top half.. probably beat a few DR/Bs. Another day in DR/C .

had fun setting a quali lap for Race C, ended up with a 1:46.860 which is pretty good by my standards I think. not going anywhere near the actual race though, no way that can possibly end well for me :D

more inclined to have a go at Race B and finally learn how to actually do the Nordschleife...

Had a hilarious race C on my American account. Firstly someone went wide at the last corner so I went up the inside. The other driver of course wants to go into the pits but I'm in the way. Slowing down wasn't an option for them so they just tried to ram their way though me. I didn't allow this and forced them to stay out for another lap  If you want to enter the pits it's your job to do it safely.

Then on the last lap at the last corner I'm battling for second. I mess it up and push the other car wide. 100% my bad. I slow right down to make sure they take the place back. Rather than just overtake me and take P2 they decide to punt me over the finish line

But.... this is GTSport so the punt gives me a 1 second penalty and they take P2 anyway, but still. I know it was my fault but I was trying to do the right thing!

So, Nascar driver Kyle Larson just got himself suspended for saying bad things during yesterday's iRacing event.
It's a good thing that Sport Mode races don't have voice chat (unless you join a party with a friend). It would be so toxic!
I've said things out loud, while racing that would probably get me banned.
