Had a mixed week around the ring, some really good close tactical battles with safe racers, working out where I'm faster & can I get the drive. My personal favourite was the guy who sat behind me the whole lap, not a tap or a nudge, just there, drafts me on the final straight for the win, perfect race plan
And then there would be the hot shots who would ram and push, eventually they get called out and don't reappear.
Ending the nights racing on my alt at Monza from the back in the Mustang 👍

I guess FIA pulled people away from race B. I was up to SR.S the 80-89 SR range, then it all went pear shaped. Just got my 5th DR reset this week, SR now at 25 after 4 dirty races in a row. Matchmaking is terrible right now. Of course only if you start from the back behind DR.D in front of DR.A and DR.B lol.

This morning was good though, couple clean streaks, no issues. Then the kids wake up and the Sunday drivers join, which are the ones that are left currently with FIA races on.

I did one last Race A, started 3rd and finished 2nd because a DR A SR B driver ahead was weaving and blocking at the last corner and while he finished first, he was 'rewarded' with a DR reset. Winning that race at all costs was worth it to him, I guess /facepalm.

I thought rather than leave it on a sour note, I did another starting on pole and I had great clean battle with 2nd in a B/B room. It was closely thought right through to the end until I picked up a shortcut penalty at the chicane so he ended up with the win. I wish more people were out there who aren't about winning at all costs and are more honoring a fair, clean race. I could never feel good about myself winning in an unfair way.

Racing is a contact sport and this was one of the best finishes I've ever seen in a daily race.

Good example of acceptable “rubbing” nothing nefarious, both just trying to balance it on the limit and giving each other room cheers!!

As we have had adventures on the Nord this week, I was wondering if this is something we should set as a challenge for @Sven Jurgens? We all chip in to see what our resident Nurburgring lifer can do?

LOL that’s bonkers. Also. Automobilista yikes fix that Ring. It’s as appalling as the original Forza one.

It’s truly awful.

The 997 GT3 is just excellent at Nurburgring on Sports Hard tires, car slides around but is easily controlled. The top guys are just superhuman going sub 7:30. I feel like I'm driving the wheels off this thing to get 7:38. Such an unforgiving place, one false move when trying to push it and you're crashing.

Finished the week on my alt account in race A. Started 8th, but dropped to last at the start. Moved up to 5th or 6th after the hairpin on L1 and was in P3 at the start of L2. Me and the other 2, who had started P1 and 2 and were DR S and A, had a great battle with some position swaps, but finished in the positions (relative) that we started in. Entered another race and the same 2 guys were 1 and 2 with me 3rd on the grid with a 58.7. Did a 58.3 my first lap of practice in the 5 minute lead up, but got a .5 sec penalty on the chicane. Anyways, the 3 of us stayed smart at the start and already had a bit of gap by the hairpin, but the A driver went a bit deep and got t-boned trying to come back to the apex. I undercut both and came out in the lead. The S driver was all over me, and got along side a few times, but couldn't make a move. He got fast lap on lap 2 with a 58.6 to my 58.7, and we had a low to mid 58 working on the last lap. He got along side into the hairpin, through the tunnel and going into the right hander, but tucked behind me going into the chicane on the last lap. I got greedy and caught too much curb on the second apex, and caught the end of the wall coming out and spun. One 360 and 2 downshifts and I was back on the gas. Managed to beat 3rd to the line by a nose, but another 100 feet to the line, and I would have been 5th. Lucky me!
Tomorrow GR4 on sticky tires. I figure 17's and maybe low 18's in the top 10 early, but I'm thinking 17's might not be on the board by weeks end. We'll see.

Ok, almost time for the handover. Bets on the car for race A? I was mentally scrambled as I had been planning for a couple of races at the back taking advantage of spins at Fuji to recover SR, but that is race B. Don't think it is going to be quite as easy on Tokyo with sticky tires. Going to have to watch out for rebounds.

Race A, hmmm, maybe S2000? Would be cool for them to throw a screwball like the Dino or the DS3 in there.

Edit2: Overall, this room was decent. I got a bit frustrated with the F-Type. I got a 1.5 second hitting the wall opposite pit entry. It's just Lap 4 and I just moved up to 2nd Place. The Genesis behind me, hits my rear in the final corner. I get my bearings and move over. After I serve my penalty, the F-Type is closing fast. I'm moving over to the left. I get smashed. 2 seconds for me. IN the tunnel, I'm trying to go right to be out of the way. I get hit again in the rear. I pit at the end of the lap.

Switched from RM to RH and run to Lap 9. Switch to RM and run down everyone ahead of me, down in 11th.

From the replay data, looks like the 86 has the best tyre life. Better than the 4C. Supra is sharp though. Real sharp. 👍

I haven’t tried the Supra yet. Last group 4 I picked the Scooby.

Going to be a real ball buster this one. Just did one coming from the back. Barrier penalties are only 1.5 seconds, and it seems to be hard to get a wall riding penalty. Was stuck behind a megane riding or bouncing off about 20pct of the walls, and they finally got a penalty so.i could get by, but man they had to hit hard to do it. Did try to pass a lap prior when they were slowed but they put me into the wall to end my clean race run. Still ended up getting 29 SR for a race that was clean otherwise. So if you don't have a qualifying time this makes up for lost SR pretty quick. But hard racing here might eat it up worse than last week.

Oh, definite BB. I'm down to A/A. After that first race, my first Fuji ended with me being punted(video loading) into T1, from a GT-R. Then, as I smashed an R8 off, it wants to retaliate, costing us both. Told the R8 after the race, "Watch the video"*I typed some other stuff following that* Then, typed, "The GT-R hit me off. And I left.

The second Fuji race, Started 3rd behind two other A/S players and everyone else D/S.
T1 was fine. Laps after that, I was getting nudged by impatient WRX and AMG. Aanyway finished one spot down.

DOing the MINI race. All the races seem fun, but they'll be better after a few days. I need to sit them out in the beginning.

Edit: That was quick. PP, FL, CR & CRB. Back up to A/S.

Yeah, race A might be where it is going to work this week. There are maybe 3 spare inches to pass on Tokyo so blocking is in full effect, even if it happens by accident. Shutting the door using the wall seems to be penalizing the victim as well, like turn 1 at Monza. I cant handle sprints in GR.3 cars so Fuji and that first and last turn will be murder. Will have to give BMB a try tomorrow.
2 races and back from 62 to 99 SR. Neither was a CRB.

Tried two A races, and got two penalties for collision on the hairpin under the bridge. Both times I was punted from behind on the first lap there. The punts themselves are more than survivable, but the penalties are irritating. One time it was for 1.5s, and another for 3s. Beware.

First race I started second and finished on P2 as well, but had a chance to win this thing leading on the last lap.
Had no real chances on the second one due to the 3s penalty.

Overall I like this race, just 6 minutes of slow-paced racing on a beautiful track, rinse and repeat.

I also tried my luck with race С on Alfa 4C, and this car handles amazingly. Started on P7 with hards on, got spun out twice after contact with other cars during first two laps and dropped to.. 18th, I guess?
Made my way back up, switching to mediums after 8 laps in the process, and finished 8th. Could have went up to P7, but the guy in front of me defended well. Considering the drop, a very good result for me.

Very high-paced race, going to do it more after improving my lap times.

Race B looks like a very classic combo, but will definitely do it as well. This week is tough in terms of choice, because I equally like all three races.

Mini Cooper S for race for A is actually a fairly decent combo, shame its so short. Rinse and repeat? Only if you like spending a lot of time waiting about. Race C only has a only has a couple of minutes between races which is cool. the 4C is a little better on tires but personally I had much better race pace with the Trophy as I found the 4C had too understeer for me. The winner also used the Megane Trophy and was 20 seconds ahead of me at the finish. Guess I have plenty of work to do getting up to speed. Also the penalties on race C ain't too bad, brushing the wall often gets a 1.5 seconds penalty not the usual 5 seconds so its not race over. You can get 10 laps out of the mediums in the Megane, probably worth starting hard and pitting after 5 laps?

As usual i climb up the DR ladder when the ring is on the program, my last race even got me a 1st place.. only the 15th win, but i will take it :)
And it wasn't even the best race i did on that track, i had a few great battles and most behaved.

As for this week... hahaha no thanks, i hope the FIA events will be more interesting.

The 911 at the ring combo is very fun.

People are surprisingly behaving. The only idiot I encountered was a certain Youtuber who braked in the middle of the track to let someone he hit get back to the track. I subsequently hit him, spun, and ruined my race.

He didn't even apologize.
A lot of YouTubers assume that everybody in the world is watching them so do an half-arsed apology on there which you will never see. Some of the others are even worse and genuinely believe that nothing they do is wrong so if you drove into his car and spun it is obviously your fault and you will be in a upcoming video called @sems4arsenal is a 🤬.

I had an awful Race A just now. EVERYBODY was lagging. I know that if you see something like that it usually means that you are actually the one lagging. This was despite the game indicating an almost full connection for me (4 out of 5 green bars). Also when I entered my garage after this all the thumbnails for my cars were gone. What does this mean?

If everyone is lagging its usually your connection but it could be a sever issue, not usual to have any lag with 3 or more bars unless its group 1 or such.

You were in that race, so I'm guessing you know what I'm talking about.

If he does it again, I'm gonna call him out. I have no issue naming and shaming repeat offenders even if they are Youtubers.
