LOL, 2 Race A's on my EMEA C/A account at lunch time, total loss of 27 SR points from brake checked out of a corner, hit from behind going into a corner, and being slammed from behind at the hairpin, resulting in me hitting the car ahead and also getting a 1 second penalty. No penalty for the aggressor. Guess I'm staying in Race C this week then!

Hey guys new guy here, I've looked for my problem but couldn't find it and couldn't find an specific thread to post it.

I bought the G29 today, I was trying to use it on GT Sport, but when I accelerate the car doesn't move, even if it's registering the acceleration, but doesn't do anything, is there an specific setting I'm missing? sorry if this is not the right place.

Hey man, welcome to GTP!

Is your brake on just a tiny bit? If so, the car will not move from a stop in GT. :)

is just starting the game, the car does the acceleration but doesn't move a little, just stops even if it shows reving and in first, happens on manual and automatic

Check on the screen to see if you have any brake being applied by your pedal, even if it’s just a fraction the car won’t move. It may have some plastic packing stuck down there or something holding it on a little bit.

Check the little switch at the top of the wheel... maybe it's set for PS3 and not set on PS4?? Just another option maybe 👍

Remove the alternator valve pin from the reciprocating vortex mechanism.

Idk that one hasn’t happened to me yet.
Old man solution, close everything turn off console. Once it’s off disconnect usb and unplug from outlet. Check all your connections and hopefully something will work. Good luck.

Thanks everybody for the help, seems to be the breaking pedal is applying some force even if not pressed, that seems to be the problem, but don't know how to fix it.

Here I am fighting with this Pug in Race C, only to switch to the Beetle and realize I could have been using mediums on the Pug! Got a 16.9 on Hards though!

Last week I was chasing your ghost on Tokyo and felt I was slower than I should be. Then switched to another car which was still fitted with med tires when last used on DRWF. Realizing my mistake, I switched back to the first car and trimmed a second of my time on a sloppy first lap. :banghead:

I would think the WD-40 would for sure pick up more debris.
Lithium Grease would work better IMO.

WD makes an Electrical Contact Cleaner Spray that works and leaves no greasy residue. 👍 Read about this in another thread about G29 pedals when I had an issue. The pots on those pedals can be a pita. So happy to not have to worry about that anymore. CSL & Loadcell FTW.

Liking 2RM-3RM-3RH with the Beetle as of last race.

EDIT: 2M (BB +1) 4H (BB +1) 2M (BB 0). Bunch of P2s, 1 victory, and the rest top 5s. Average finish 19:09. I've been starting from P2 down to P5 and I come out after pitting for the hards no worse than P5. I usually end up around P4 at the worst after pitting for the 2nd set of mediums after L6.

I've been behind someone by 2-3s midway through L7 and end up passing them by midway L8 because his tires are SHOT.

I went 4M/3M/1H in the last one. Might go 1 4 3 this time.
Good to know. I'm gonna sit out the races for at least an hour and hope for a new batch of cleaner drivers. Everyone in the last one was THIRSTY AF. May as well practice how to get 4 laps out of the mediums until jumping back in.

2 stop on Race C is definitely faster, I usually go for 2H, 3M, 3M, Got my 3rd ever win earlier on tonight, finished 10 seconds behind a guy who didn't pit and then he asked in chat why he got a penalty. Seems people still aren't reading the rules.

I do like getting the H's out of the way early, in most circumstances: 1) cold tires at start marginalizes the speed difference... good guys on slippery tires are nearly as fast as bad guys on less slippery, but still cold, tires 2) you can maximize the speed benefit of the stickier tires when the fuel is low. If you're going to go fast, go faster. 3) Anything that puts you out of the fray from people who don't know better, and do the default strategy, while also causing trouble, is better in the end!

Getting a handle on this weeks combos. Did about 40 laps in the pug in race A and got a 27.8. Was doing consistant low to mid 28's towards the end. Still need some laps at yama-miya, but it looks like I should be (relatively) competitive there. Will be nice after last weeks fiasco. I might give some racing a shot later. With clean rooms, all three look to be fun this week.

...LOL, I've thought of that. Even if it was as effective in real life (should I say... as predictable and consistent as it is in the game, because sure, it can 'work')... you'd be so hard on the equipment that teams would fire you or your own car would need rebuilt so often you'd be bankrupt. I've considered that we're lucky there is no wear and tear, with the bad habits that you rely on in GT!
Add to that "riding the sausage" as they say, putting one wheel on one side of the large red rumble strips and one wheel on the other side. Goodbye splitter, oil pan, and rear differential in real life...but in the game, that's just the driving line. Would be interesting to see them turn damage on for some of these races...or perhaps FIA races above a certain DR threshold.

Yeah, it can be a bit dodgy after first stop as not a lot of people have stopped at that point, so you just have to hope for some clean air. 2nd and 3rd stops are fine as the field has spread out by then,

I'm not a quick driver, sitting at B/S just now so I would struggle against decent players on the same strategy but in the lower lobbies it works quite well.

You don’t have to do that, even if it does work, the right way works too and is better on tire wear if you can modulate your inputs well.
In this game everyone’s a copycat, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only way.
Like me, I run cockpit view, ABS weak, Often TCS 3...In the kart I run abs off no tcs.
A friend took tcs2 to A plus rating and held it a long time...
The great thing GTS is you can do what works for you, play how you want to play!

Delete. Incorrect info

I just had a couple of races in race C. I am a C - S which I thought would stop some of the dive bombing but alas not! In both races I made my way from 13th to 6th to be rammed out of nowhere on a hairpin and put back stone dead last. Managed one top 10 finish though.

hopefully I will get better as the week goes on. I have only managed a 4 laps of quali so far. Interesting to hear different pit strategies though I just one stop.

3 races in. Started 3, 4, and 7th. It’s gonna be a total blank show as the week goes on. Too many idiots. One clean race but between the first turn hairpin and the bus stop, total carnage by the usual suspects.

So far, my qualifying for Race A seems to get faster and faster the more I set the BB to the rear, but I suppose that goes without saying for an FF car. Meanwhile for Race B, I feel like the A90 is too slippery even when TCS is set to 1, so I’ll see if I do any better when I crank it up a little. I think the BB would be best-set towards the front, too, if only because of some of the heavy braking zones, like T1 and that part after the straight which comes after Eau Rouge. Maybe even all the way frontwards, if only for better stability.

I was a bit skeptical about Race A this week, but it's become one of the best for me personally in a while, after 5 races I've gained 3000 DR, and that includes the one race where I completely bottled it on my own (twice) and came in last. I set BB to 3 to the rear and have been really getting in tune with the car and track, I've been on pole position every race. Only won once though, although I'm not too upset because 3/5 of the races I kept having this quick Brazilian starting 2nd that I had many good battles with (although one of the wins was stolen from me by being punted at the last corner on the last lap by another driver...). I wonder if it'll be like this all week though.
