I'm the same with Fuji. I find it a frustrating circuit with no flow and it feels like you never really get going, but I had 3 or 4 wins on it the last time it came around. Compare that to Dragon Trail Gardens last week when the best result I got was 3rd.

Maybe Fuji will feel better on mediums.

I know, and it's the 3rd sector where I was making time, mostly level pegging until the chicane, and then pulling away by half a second between there and the line, wasn't that they were battling either, looked like 2nd and 3rd we're on their own by a few seconds too. Felt bad, but had a little chuckle at two guys who went from I think 5th and 6th to about 13th and 14th with the tyre penalties.

HAD to qualy after one of those previous races. The RCZs are braking way early.

Now, the WRXs are beginning to be the trouble makers. They're braking and the rear is swaying. This is making me have to brake harder because I can't predict what that car is doing. The car behind seizes the opportunity. Have to get my rhythm back.

The previous race. The RCZ that finished 12th(above), divebombed me into T1, when a 458 was parking the car on the inside. I dispatched them both a little while later. Caught a Viper. Got around that, but messed up the Corkscrew and three my rhythm off. They both caught me at the final turn and both passed me at the line. Enough!

Got myself a nice replay from my Nations race and justice beating that RCZ. Bedtime for this old head.

From yesterday at Fuji, here's how you can lose Sr and why you need to avoid lower Sr rooms if possible.

This was the first time I'd encountered either car during the races and did nothing to provoke them other than overtaking them.

Yea I was a little surprised with someone in my race C last night.
Came out of lap 7 with fresh mediums behind him, and despite being faster, I could not overtake him safely.
It was a great 5 lap battle! (Except we took the hairpin very differently leading to a tricky moment every lap.
We are side by side on last lap coming into turn 1. I’m on the outside, as close to the grass as I can be, and he’s rubbing on me the entire straight!
Atleast 5 times he tried to nudge me into the grass!
Somehow, I stayed on track, but backed off for the last lap so I didn’t get pushed off.
Nothing terrible... I was just really disappointed he tried this after battling for many laps... I was really excited to see if I could overtake him finally when it counted, but didn’t trust it, and didn’t want to while on last lap.

Put down a good 1:38.249 after a few laps then decided to hop on alt account after that seems to be a thing. I don't remember being E/S rated and being put in so many A/B/S lobbies when I started playing.... less people? Decided not to put a qualifying time in and start from the back every race and practice taking other lines and passing.

After few races 18th to 3rd, 18th to 2nd, then 20th to 1st. Had a lot of fun and some good battles between my Ford GT and Vipers up front. 5H/7M seems to be the strategy for me. A/S Guys up front qualifying with times of 1:38:600 so not far from where I would naturally be on the grid and giving them 15+ car headstart made it challenging.

Two races on Fujii tonight. First race I got punted to DFL in last turn of L1. Finished 10 where I started.

Second race, qualified as p8, started on hards.. made it to p4 bit got dinged and slid down to 5th. The I pitted on l5 for mediums.started pushing and made it to P2 as others pitted for hards
Then a fast Spaniard in a Pug reeled me in. The last three laps wherea great, clean battle, right up to the final turn where I accidentally tapped him lightly in the side. I was going to lift and let him have the spot but then he started dinging me one, two, three times. So I pulled right and stepped on it.
Tainted bit good. If he is here or if any know him, I am sorry.

Last laps

I did one c last night with the LEXUS prototype car is very stable tire wear was good quali time 1.38.227 put me 3rd on grid . 1st and 2nd started on hards and i took the lead by the end of lap 1 . I did 7 on med 5 on hard took the the win by 2.3. Lexus is not the fastest but very stable and easy on the tires

I qualified with my alt today so I could get some faster paced racing in.

Almost to DR A with it, so hopefully I won’t be qualifying first in the next race.

Side note: If the Viper always feels this nice, I may consider when we get to pick manufacturers again.

I've never driven the Vette or the Viper but I'm tempted to try them! The viper was up front in each race I did and couple weeks before that it seemed fast at Spa from racing against them.

I guess race C is a TS050 fest once again?
Can someone explain to me why all the top 10 lap times were set in the Audi but I was easily quicker in the TS050. I understand that over 13 laps the TS050 KERS is more effective, but not on the first lap when the Audi is fully charged. The Audi accelerates faster, breaks better and turns better, so why was my qualifying lap time noticeably faster in the TS050?

Viper is great, tried it earlier but never got the best out of it in a race due to other drivers mainly, should be marginally better than the Vantage I was using before.

It's definitely come out strong lately. I used to never see anybody use them gr3 & gr4. I'm guessing it was nerfed while back?

gr3 is so much better than gr4 IMO . so many different cars you can be fast in. GR4 always seems to be just 1 or 2 and then by the end of the week it turns into a one make. That does not seem to happen in GR3

Gr3 is wide open on most tracks. That gr4 viper just seems like the only American car to keep up with the FF dominance.

Yes a number of times in case of the Gr3, the Gr4 used to be great a long time ago but that got done over too. These days it seems the Gr3 is usable again, not sure on Gr4 because that class is so unbalanced especially when there is no fuel or tyre concerns.

Well, the alt is to DR A now.

I qualified 2nd, and P1 and I ran away quickly. On the 5th lap, he made an unexpected move in front of me as we hit the braking zone at T1, and I accidentally bumped him off. I waited for him (and took a 2 second pen) and he took the message as the apology it was and we has a great hardly fought match for the rest of the race.

Unfortunately, it probably allowed the guy who ended up winning to catch us. Finished P3. I love Fuji.

Wow, are you ever forgiving. I can't help it but if I see something that deliberate I make them pay and leave them safely behind.

On fuji, was able to get 1mph faster on the straights in the ford gt vs the viper. But the viper has it probably everywhere else.

Im Just not feeling any Fuji flow this week. Just doesnt feel like i enjoy going round it. Guess like music, this rhythm is not for me. QT is 1.38.9 in the Aston DBR9 starting about 9th finishing usualy about where i start.

THis week? It's an utterly MISERABLE track. None of the corners feel like they belong, it feels stitched together and cumbersome. Absolutely loathe it.

Another walk through the dailies and I learned 3 important lessons . . . Lesson 1: Don't pass people (even legally/safely) - they get mad at you and seek out revenge. Lesson 2: I have not figured out tires yet because I used the 6H/6M strategy and the hards were still working but wanted the extra grip the mediums were supposed to give me. They only lasted 5 laps and I limped around the last lap trying no to spin out on every corner. Lesson 3: Most important lesson learned tonight - I still cannot drive worth crap! Huracan did perform very well - it raced just like I wanted it too (too bad the driving stunk).

Who cares, I enjoyed all 3 races (especially the Gr.4 race at Laguna Seca). Getting ready for the Nation's Cup race now.

I like Fuji a bit myself, feel like every corner is all about cornering speed and exit (every racing corner is about this... but you know what I mean).

Feels good for me to nail a corner here, and gaps open and close quickly here depending on how you do around them.

Bad things are, there seem to be ALOT of variety in lines/braking points in races online, which adds a lot of difficulty in traffic. And there’s a lot of places to get pushed off

I don't mind it, its not my favourite by any means but it's alright, although I will never feel like I've nailed the last sector, I don't believe that's possible even.

The only issue is when you are racing with people who try to pass at loads of the corners by diving in there and pushing you about, since that is the only way you can pass at a number of them and they must get past right away of course, it's just stupid and it slows down everyone and lets the leader get away in most races.

Will probably just use hards at the start in the future, since I know what's coming and it's a waste of the mediums when you are lapping at hard pace because of the above.

:gtpflag:

Did a P3 to P3 today, on Fuji, some nice battles at the start of the race, switching between P3 - P4 - P3. Ran a pretty lonely race after pitting for the hards after 8 laps, gap to P2 fluctuating around the 2s mark. I got passed by a Viper behind but he ended up serving a 20s tire penalty so not a big surprise he was so much faster in S3 for the last 2 laps :D

Hey I've been a lurker on here for a while. Nice to meet you all.
Having a hard time on Race C this week. I got a 4 second penalty for being punted hard 1st lap into the tight chicane. I feel like the penalty system gives you a penalty for contact if your car is sliding. Using a DS4 nearly impossible to avoid sliding.
Managed a 1:38.3 in race C using a Alfa 4C but keep starting 15th+ with people with much higher DRs than me, any idea what I can do to start nearer the front?

Practice in an open lobby that has the same race settings as the one in the daily to figure out how the race could play out and make yourself comfortable with the car/track combo.

Yea, it’s never fun when you watch someone wreck horribly, and realize it was just lag when they magically appear next to you, and you have a penalty...

Being behind this is kind of a loose loose, so I hang back, expecting someone else to nail them...

Try not to let it bother me and think back to the dial-up years, and how much we didn’t care how awful it was, just happy to play online! Lol meeeemmmmmories

Something has always bugged me about Qualy in daily races.
Why do you need to serve penalty on a Q lap? Why not just void current lap & go on about running laps instead of having to serve a penalty on the next lap too? I just end up resetting & starting over again.
Not a huge problem but it has always bugged me.

The Laguna Seca B race is slowly turning into the Thunderdome in some races. Going for gaps that arent there, nudging you off for trying to pass, and when you do make an accident and try to rectify it, they hit you anyways.
Though there are some golden nuggets:
