I’ve been enjoying Fuji to an extent. I much much prefer longer races with pit stops now and I’ve been starting on hard tyres for the first 6/7 laps and then switching to the mediums. The first half of the race seems to just be keeping the car on the track as the AMG is horribly understeery in hards, and when the fuel drops and I change to mediums it becomes semi enjoyable. The vast majority of the people I raced with today were clean and courteous and it makes such a difference.

Anyway I’ve had 4 or 5 top 5 finishes in a row and gone up 4K DR today, and now for the first time I’m up in to DR/A, which I’m very pleased with! Now I’ve just got to stay there.

Decided to spend some time on Quali for race C. Got my time down to a 1:37.9 optimal 37.7. Can't seem to get below that.

Struggling for race pace though, able to get in to the 39's. For the life of me, can't seem to break in to the 38's in the race.

My best in race is a 1'38.4 almost 5 from a 1'37.3 qualifier, I could go quicker on both but never have yet. Many around this level sometimes don't go under 1'39 either in the race, sometimes I can't because of all the pushing and stuff, people can slow you down into the 1'40/1/2 area if you don't just push them out of the way like others do.

Hards are about a second a lap slower than ultimate medium speed but by about lap5,6 or 7 it's about even, so starting on Hards for 5 or 6 laps is a decent tactic if a medium runner doesn't smash you off for holding them up.

You can two stop too but traffic is a major problem and in a one car race it probably is faster, not that this applies to anyone other than a leader board level driver of course, unless you are a sandbagger.

When it's all said and done though the biggest factor to a good result, unless you get pole, is to not get any penalties but good luck with that one.

:gtpflag:

Had very hard times at race a this week. Alfa 4c is not easy and i believe the penalty system is updated but the cheaters learned the tricks quickly.

Fell from DR A to C, SR S to D whilst trying to be clean as possible. No racing ethics in the races i had.

Later I upload replay, brit guy with Very high A, almost A+.... I always think that so fast guys drive clean... Pathetitic

Heres the replay, its worth mentioning that he started on pole and got hitted off track 2 or 3 times so probably was very frustrated, but I didnt even touch him...

please tell me you cleanly propelled him into outer space afterwards :D

Just... sigh... even if he thinks you hit him at some point... ewwww

atleast you didn’t get some dumb penalty

Not a single penalty. And two stopper from p6, first 6 laps on mediums, one lap on hards, 6 on mediums.
Two drivers where hit with the dreaded 20-second penalty for not using both compounds.
A good share of the players got penalties but my race was very clean. Good, clean players around me most of the time

Well finished a good race in C with the Atenza again, some bumps n such but avoided the worst of it. Controller isn’t liking small inputs right now.. sent me off again, so that’s frustrating lol, time to move the dead zone again!

Gonna start a few days with the 911. Beat my qualifying time pretty easy in it. 2nd gear is amazing! Lol

Viper end of week 8)

Did first race C is 911 and it was a great race. Got bumped off and lost 5 spots down to 14th, on lap 2, so that sucked but o well.

Followed a really hard fought/clean battle by 2 other 911’s for 3 laps, and stayed patient.

On the main straight I was able to pass one, and get along side leader, and take the hairpin clean for the double overtake, which felt good. Almost felt bad, they battled for so long n I just skip right by, entering the final lap lol. Great race, 911 was awesome. Big difference in tires to me, so I’ll do a 2 stop next time. ...if I had this race, wouldn’t have gotten pushed lap 2... grrr

finished 8th

goodluck! Hope to see you there!

Best race I ever had. Using my throttle blip trick, I could'nt believe how much I was pulling on 1st and 2nd place. I even got flagged with a 1second penalty and had total confidence in coming back. P4 to P3 but very hard fought, and that could've been a win if I went 6M/7H like P1 and P2 did. Wasn't paying attention and went 6M/6M/1H. Still have to work on consistent lap times for sub 1:40's. Hard

Was a bit aggressive for P1 pass at 15:36. Thought I had the clear.
Dive bomb at 6:08, take back at 6:36. lol
14:40 P3 punt denied.

I bet the driver you forced off at the first left hander, L1 (0:30 ish) wasn't impressed. Didn't bother watching past that...

@LVS_1986 That person has a few accounts all similarly named and I've raced them many times where they were fair and we had good races but other times they have been aggressive and/or dirty, although I don't remember anything that bad. :banghead:

Either they get triggered real easily and take it out on everybody or these accounts are used by multiple drivers, one who's clean but the other/s are dirty, you never know. :irked:

Could also be that they are only respectful if they deem you fast enough, there are definitely a few drivers like that, that I have come across.

@Matrix243123. Yeah. He had the inside on T1, but still gave space on the exit. Didn't squeeze you out. He definitely got better drive out of the corner.

Got squeezed off, wonder if he got a .5s penalty for track limits, to add to the dirty tires.

Guess it happens, can't throw stones as if I haven't done likewise. Just my opinion, should have given back the place.

I think he was very angry cause of first 2 laps, also there was another polish driver and I think they were passionatly kissing each other on few corners:lol: So when he saw polish flag decided to give love back:lol: Maybe Im childish but I catch him on next lap just before chickane.... 4s penalty for me, off track journey for him, then I waited for him you know sportsmanship, and kissed him again on last corner for 2s penalty... He had enough if this love and rage quitted... Im bad person

I'm just cruising at the back now. Started Race C from 8th and just dropped back. I'm soooo ready for GT7.

Did two Race B and did the same. Was around 13th both races and dropped back. Even being last, I made up a few spots by players' mistakes. Rankings definitely aren't meaning much to me, after watching the new game trailer.

I guess there is a long time before we get to play that ..

Early in the week when i wasnt liking Fuji, for some reason i never tried the viper. Just done 45min QT and got a 1.38.110. Should have done this Monday..

You're quick in that viper. I was the pole sitter, unfortunately I didn't manage to get round T1 on L1 lol. But good racing.

Edit: second race, taken out again, this time from P3. Lap 1, turn 1. Decided to change strategies 1H/7M/4M. Managed to recover to P3.

My DR isnt worrying me, but currently getting bashed 6 ways from Sunday trying to recover my destroyed SR by rising the back of race C. Down in SR B it is psycho. Recovering slowly but will have to head to sleep soon. 3 races in and thanks to purposefully dirty drivers still only up 3 SR:indiff:
Getting Fuji practice though. Hard to get a CRB when starting in front of 4 E/B drivers.:scared:

Yeah, I see it all happening. Not worrying about my placings, watching how events unfold, shaking my head to impatience.

Race B is actually a race one can recover from. I'm seeing that first hand.

Race C is just silly with the goings on. Sometimes, just give other person the corner. You want it that bad? Here. Then, watch them stuff up a couple corners later.

I was in the F1. An M6 was recovering. I'm on RH. I had the top end and corner exit acceleration. It still couldn't pass being under my rear wing, down the straight.
I gave it the inside two laps before I pit. M6 pits first. When I switch to RM. I'm catching the early and mid-race stoppers. M6 is two cars ahead.
I pass one car. Gaining on the M6. I pass another. I'll get the M6 after the final esses.

Now, either the M6 had an emergency or it didn't want me to pass. I'm gaining on Lap 11. M6 slows after the 130R. Pulls over and quits. I was like, "No he didn't quit.". Oh well.

I lost 5k tonight meh...lol

Yeah, it is completely crazy pit there tonight. The thing is I got dropped in this hole through no fault incidental contact. Now stuck in it through pure craziness. Had one guy in a 4c try to punt everyone in front for 3 laps, but he kept ghosting . Almost back enough to call it a night. Still climbing an average of 10 places due to people simply crashing or quitting. It is ok, but driving with my head on a swivel and brakes on hair trigger to avoid all contact. :nervous:

Yeh that T1 was a mess probably my fault sorry, i tapped p2 straight past you on the inside, then i just followed. Second race i started 8th on the hards, still one stop Viper is slow when tyre wear kicks in though.

There is a lot of impatience, entitlement to corners and elbows out
I got passed by a guy in 130r yesterday he just dived inside and pushed me wide to get by. With the old collision I would have been in the run off area but now I could go on the inside in the first part of the chikane. I made room but he turned in on me anyway.
I had TCS 2 on so he was the one that spun off.

And in my last race a guy called out another player as dirty, but that instantly led to almost all the rest of us calling him out as dirty. He was pushing and showing, and diving all the way through. Replay is shared on my NA account if you want to see it.

I've seen mostly consistent reports about Fuji being a DR/SR destroyer this week, then the occasional report that it's not bad at all and really fun. But when I've looked closer at those latter comments, then check the details like their video or SR history, I'm inclined to think that my opinion of what's good and clean is different, so it's likely a 'pass' from me this week. Though I've come to grips with the track, and feel pretty good there, I don't want to suffer any further derailing of my ratings.

Biggest takeaway is that I am.stupid for trying to raise SR there. Could have lapped a few rave Bs and been done with it, but tried to do C, where they catch back up and it is like I am digging deeper. Got a passing under the yellow penalty for passing the 2 cars that caused the yellow. For no idea what else to do. My SR is sunk in B and it is like swimming in concrete trying to find my way out at the moment. Getting pretty desperate as my last race I stayed in the back for 2 laps after rolling through the pits. Guy ahead ran lap 2 at 1:50 something, driving me mad, then promptly spun and bounced into me for a penalty. Should probably give up but just stubborn.
