That wiper is your friend if it’s raining. :sly:
Cockpit view takes getting use to but stay at it and you may like it.
I just recently went to it and to me it feels like you can tell what the car is doing alot better.
Messing with the two setting we get for “FOV” seems to help. Good luck

I tried cockpit when I first started playing GTS. I found I was missing braking points too much and switched to roof cam. Haven't gone back.

First race in a few days, after ending on a good note!

Race B I braked way to late on t1 lap1, so I threw myself into the grass so I didn’t launch everyone in front of me lol

Came back on the track last behind super laggy dude, so I just followed him around, hoping I didn’t magically hit him.

and then he magically appeared behind me! Yay! Good race after that lol, only got back up to p11

also - I love cockpit view! But if I’m trying to play well, the loss of view hurts. I would do it, if there were more cars I could actually see the mirrors in, despite playing with settings. -_-

actually most the cars I use - have a good rear view, because I got comfortable in them when I used cockpit more :)

Race C
23 pole position
0
Wins
First corner dirty
BS to DE

2 races, 2 poles, and taken out on the chicane by someone doing something, IDK what. They'd go from like 10th and try to cut the corner; my best guest.

Anyone else getting put in odd lobbies? I was the only A driver in the three Sport Mode races I did today.

It's a lot of fun. I have to change the view though in cockpit all the way up and push the seat back lol
Same here, I’m all legs and it seems to suit how I sit in any vehicle.

I started in roof or bumper cam then switched, I still use them with controller or the car.
Sitting right up close to a curved monitor in cockpit view
This with a wheel, makes the game more enjoyable/immersive but it can still be fun with a controller on the couch.

Those moving barriers at the della Roggia chicane are just awful. Thanks to the terrible collision physics they can get punted right in front of you resulting in accidents, and otherwise turns the track into an obstacle course for the rest of the race.

I sent one of those flying during a practice qualifying lap... once I saw the potential for carnage I knew it would undoubtedly occur during most races and promptly left the lobby.

On a side note... just ran a Race A from the back to try and get back some SR. Ran it clean and got a whole 4 SR for the achievement... at a cost of 1200 DR points. SR back to 64 with a long climb to go (was 99 yesterday morning). Trying to decide if its worth the DR hit back down to C or if I should just go racing and let my SR get massacred.

Well that was easy. Race C, P7, let everyone by, P19, blew passed everyone at 1st chicane and clear sailing ahead for P6. Took my measely 300DR and 2SR. yay

My little SR climb

Morning! After 2 days of detox from GTS today Im hungry for racing:) Im B/C now, beacause of Nations stupid Fuji. I know that if now my SR drop to D, my DR will reset... Havent set QT for race A and C yet, so my plan is to race from the back and stay away from troubles. Question is which race is better for gaining SR? I know that C is longer so gives more points, but we all know that this is Monza, and Monza never change...

So here it is, another chaotic start.

Ok in the first instance I'm prepared to give the driver we are on-board with some slack for hitting the other car, as it moves over late but afterwards it's a case of just how many cars can you have contact with. Lots of other drivers were not much better either. :yuck:

Race c for SR grinding for sure, start at the back no qually. Hang back a bit for the first chicane and pick up the pieces. Once through the penalty zone you should be able to find a gap to circulate just collecting green arrows. Avoid tailing anyone as much as possible and never ever go to the outside of anything.

@RacingGrandpa Just read this in your link.

If two cars have any parts alongside one another, each driver must respect the space occupied by the other car

The amount of times ive had my bonnet on the inside of the 2 right handers, sector 3 Autopolis, and been forced out or hated for it. I gave up on the move through there. But in the rules space should be given
Yes, the rules are clear. There are small discrepancies between series but the gest is the same. But when in sport mode, well... Not many seems to know the rules

OMG! This is crazy. Why these people even play this game? I guess I just stay away from C, maybe if SR back to S Ill try one...

Race C - start at the back, pull into the pits at the end of lap 1, and stay there until the race ends!

Well I improved my qualy time for Race C at least, still like a second behind the top time.

The racing (from the back) is as unclean as ever, it's so hard to run behind people who are running seconds a lap slower than I can and my race pace isn't even where it needs to be either. :indiff:

Also people either move out of the way to let me through (not needed and not racing, although I appreciate it) or go total stupid and defend the inside making passing very tough and slow us both down, so of course the cars behind catch up and run into/push past and repeat the trick.:ouch::boggled:

Hope next week's Race C is better. :nervous:

Well for people struggling to bring up SR this week and still race competitively- Race B has been clean for me for atleast 7 in a row.

Just expect dives when fighting, since there’s not many places to overtake. I’ve been making it clear that I’m going inside early, and if I can’t because someone behind me (close) is on the inside, I’ve been just being passive. Might loose a spot, but better than contact.

goodluck!

Decided to give it a shot on my alt account. Racing from the back. Braking early to avoid the chaos of the chicane. Had a few good races.

SR was at an all time low, did my best to repair it. Finally back to S. Unfortunately in the process, alt account is now DR A. And the dirt and aggression are not appealing.

Yes you just have to avoid at the start.👍 In the last chaos video I was 7th after the penalty zone and I almost had to stop at the chicane and just crawled along passing all the cars that were pushed off or got penalties.

You can't lose SR but you won't gain anymore points beyond 1 lap. Monza has few sectors so less SR ups to collect. It would be a pretty slow and ineffective way to recover SR if racing for a single lap.

The safest and more effective way would be to drive above a speed that doesn't trigger the disqualification countdown and wait until you're lapped. Drive at normal pace for the rest of the race since you'll be ghosted. I did this a few times before at SR C and other drivers were still trying to ram me, so they drove right through and off the track themselves, lol. The stupidity of some people in this game never ceases to amaze me.

Daily race C again this afternoon , first race I was punted off before the first corner on the straight .
I watched the replay afterwards and it could have been avoided if the driver had been more aware of others , he was swerving around a lot before clipping a car to my right and then right into my rear wheel sending me into the barrier and me getting a 4s penalty for it too . come on its the first lap , I was just trying to run clean and enjoy the race .
