You can't lose SR but you won't gain anymore points beyond 1 lap. Monza has few sectors so less SR ups to collect. It would be a pretty slow and ineffective way to recover SR if racing for a single lap.

The safest and more effective way would be to drive above a speed that doesn't trigger the disqualification countdown and wait until you're lapped. Drive at normal pace for the rest of the race since you'll be ghosted. I did this a few times before at SR C and other drivers were still trying to ram me, so they drove right through and off the track themselves, lol. The stupidity of some people in this game never ceases to amaze me.

Yes I watched a ghosted lapped car try to take cars out last week at Fuji and then they tried to get me but obviously they went right through me as well. This didn't stop them trying again though, they waited on track to try again next lap before I assume they were kicked, as they just vanished in the middle of their crazy. They obviously did not understand they were a ghost.

In race C, after staying back and avoiding everyone at the chicane, there should be some gaps. As someone comes up on you I let them know they can take it and pull to one side. Then put the pressure on behind.

How is everyone's braking zone at the chicane? Watching some they're near the 50-100 mark and I'm not even close to that. Usually play it safe brake at 150 to get the line.

Edit: Noticed how much more improved the tires are if you don't get sent off on the chicane. Normal races I know its dirty tire but didn't think daily races would have an effect.

Sure I'm not as quick as some of the guys on the forum.

Just before the 100m board, there's an access road. That's my brake point, if I was in someone's slipstream down the main straight, I break just as I pass the orange paint. If I'm in clean air. I use the access road as my brake point.

What I'd give to be a second behind - best I can do is over 6 seconds off the pace.......:dunce:

I gained 6 tenths today, could actually be 7 or 8 even if I didn't mess up. With that much room to gain time you could gain seconds easily I'd think, whether it's worth it is very debatable though.

Depends if you want to really, going faster actually makes the car easier to drive (part of why I find it difficult in traffic) but I don't think many people ever get to feel comfortable driving this car, I certainly don't.

That's where I was braking in my clip, despite being 19th, guy behind me still braking later and tags me. Crazy how peoples though process is. Can't tell if it just people that like chaos or they genuinely dislike everyone and send people off.

Those moving barriers at the della Roggia chicane are just awful. Thanks to the terrible collision physics they can get punted right in front of you resulting in accidents, and otherwise turns the track into an obstacle course for the rest of the race.
Yeah, the kind of thing that would 100% bring out a safety car in real racing. l.I notice that ACC doesn't have those barriers at the second chicane, but I assume they have a cut course penalty system that actually works.

My biggest gripe about tarmac run off in games is that it solves no problem that exists virtually.

The issue with gravel is beached cars bringing out safety cars, gravel being thrown back onto the track, and cars skipping across it. But none of that is an issue online, and it gives a great physical disincentive not to cut the track.

With tarmac on the other hand, the punishment is arbitrary

Or it could just be drivers who lack discipline trying to go faster than their car and skill level can manage, resulting outbraking themselves. I know it took me a long time to develop the ability to stop trying to race faster cars and start racing my car as fast as I consistently could. When I started getting that right, I started getting much better results.

Was nice to share track with you:cheers: Sad I cant race with you beacause of idiots:lol: Today I finnaly hit sr s, for one race... I really must learn to not retaliate...

Finally used Race B to get my DR to break 20k (for the first time) I think DR A/B - SR S is my happy place. Faced some really flawless drivers. Gained a few places because of clowns playing in the gravel pits. I feel like 20k ain't too bad considering I got GTS on St. Paddy's day and I keep myself to just 2-3 races a day.

I think if I jump on at the right time of day, I'll be able to practice better than just "no mistakes" driving. Get on at the wrong time of day and it's like WreckFest.

Have decided that time of day has the most effect on the quality of racing. In short, for US/West Coast the sweet spot is 10pm-1am PT. Maybe this is the time for adults who want to have fun driving after the kids are in bed (also had a glass of wine or three to mellow out). I find that daily races during most other times have a much higher percentage of bad/overly aggressive drivers. Worst time is 3-7pm (kids playing after school/before dinner, adults just got off work and are angry/stressed/etc.).

Haven't exactly nailed down East Coast yet. but when I hit a sweet spot I try to fit in at least 2 or 3 good races.

Yesterday in the lobby, a dude starts calling out other racers, saying he was going to punt them all T1 as revenge. I'd like to think it's just the kids but we all probably "know a guy". LOL. It was beautiful, I hung back at P6 with some popcorn and watched the lap one carnage, then had a lonely race at the front with a few talented drivers.

I don't think I'm going to change the climate of GTS by myself but I think it's good practice to pick at least one clean driver and tell them in the post race lobby that they are fast. Increase the happy vibes, smoke out the rage.

Yeah, I really try to make it a point to thank and mention clean drivers. Despite the grumbling of the last couple of weeks I have had some random nicely clean battles in there. It was fantastic and I really thanked them. Need to put more mention and emphasis on this sort of stuff as an antidote to the roughriders that enjoy banging.

After a hateful week on DTS 2 a while ago I had a 5 lap battle with a guy that was 100pct clean until we both bottled the last chicane slightly. He came off worse from contact so I made sure he got the spot back. Told him it was fantastic fun and really made my week. Need a few more of those.

I passed to the dark side.
Racing(not racing!) hardcore at Race A.
SR down to E, Manner Point(s) 1.
If this is what Poliphony Digital and the GTS crowd wants, i'm all in!

Not sure what PD is doing. GTS crowd is mixed but more are going to the dark side. I was a punter when I played football, I still remember how to do it and some of these people really make me feel like this needs to come out of me. So far I have been good but my patience is wearing very thin. In a Daily B the race had ended for the top finisher, I am just trying to finish out the lap (watching the time remaining in the right corner) and with 5 seconds to go this idiot racer thought that was the time to get one last punt in - how stupid is that?

Enjoying the racing (if you can)!

Only way to stay clean at Race A is to qualify p1 and run for ur life..!
People cut the chicanes, hit you from the back and send you to shadow realm and get a 1 second penalty. Its like rewarding cheaters! What are you thinking PD?!?
Well this time i managed to save myself at t1...

I have a separate account just for this. For the longest time, people left me alone when I drove on that account. :boggled:
