Couple of laps for the dailies.
Race A - The patient and disciplined will be greatly rewarded me thinks.
Race B - I’m yet to have a comfy lap here, so I’m hoping this week with GR3 cars I can build the confidence to do my FIRST actual race on this track... :)
Race C - Still green here and gonna be interesting vs the people who are good here! Looks like a lot of fun! I now know the track enough to work on my corners. Otherwise it’s been... a surprised around every bend! If you know what I mean lol. Usally the 2nd chicane at the end surprised the hell outta me cause I always forget about it lol. I’m good now, just gotta practice my lines!
... yet to get in a practice lap without a slip or penalty though.

oh boy!

Another reason to get a wheel? Not so much repetitive thumb action.

I was on wheel at the accident. T300.
Before the dock exit a Fugu drifted wide to the left, i tried to escape and exit going wide to the right but he shoots besides me and smashes me to the right side barriers. My left hand was on my left thumb steering left and the wheel spinned horribly. Ffb is on 3. Bad luck.

I got quicker in the last chikane by going in third through the first part and second in the second part.

I am so tempted at Race A because it's one of my best tracks, early on I got some of my first wins there one day even multiple wins and fastest laps, and like with Sardegna C, I love the change in elevation and light curve of the "not straight" which reminds me of UK A roads. Fast but you have to keep on it.

Race C is going to be my home this week though, being a fan of the Group C cars over any other Gr1 fare, and knowing LeMans very well from grinding the historic race. The only thing I don't know is if I will settle with Nissan or Mazda, but I am taking every Group C car out for a spin first. Wish we had more of these, they feel real, heavy, brutish, solid, wild, like gigantic go-karts.

Seems a low ffb to spin that bad. I remember when I started sim racing. Knew nothing about settings, etc. Started a TT in Arcade and ... OMG. I could barely hold on, and my hands and wrists were so sore after 1 lap I didn't think I'd ever be able to play the game. Turns out the ffb was turned all the way up. Figured it out and now it's on 5. Guess I have to pray no one slams me harder than they already do.

Thanks, helpful!
I really like the section near the end that’s all throttle control into the chicane, but I consistently muff the braking zone on the first corner into it :)
Been trying to lightly trail brake into it

Question (to all). Does your car behave on the first lap of a daily race? Seems almost every race, my car is absolute garbage the first lap+. This morning I purposely broke (breaked?) and downshifted earlier for the first left, felt I was going slower than usual, but still ended up overshooting into the paint on the outside. Had to hook back to the track to make a U turn around the right hand cone. Barely made the next left without going into the sand. Ended up straight off the outside of Mulsanne, again after slowing more than I have before. After that, it was like I was fighting someone else for control of the car. Finally settled down about halfway through the second lap.

During practice last week, I could manage a 3:12-13 first lap. BoP on and hard tires. This morning I barely kept it under 4 minutes.

My only thought is, dirty air? But when everyone else is pulling away in those same corners, I just don't know. And as I said, this happens during the first lap or so of almost every race. Any thoughts?

Cold tires and full tank of fuel usually are the culprits, unless your me and get all nervous on the first lap.

Dirty air and cold tyres. And the lines you need to take to avoid the car in front of you also slow you down.

It's cold tires. Also here on Le Mans in the C class weight transfer is super important. If you lift just a few meters before braking you get much better braking. Then remember not to brake full, only as much as you can with minimal red in the brake indicator. Otherwise the ABS makes you brake less

Edit: TPC to the rescue :D

Race A - One Make - Ferrari 458 Italia '09

should be a blood bath

I'll add Race B Interlagos and A/S onto the list. One thing that never changes is the amount of desperation driving I see from A/S drivers. Pretty sad and embarrassing.

SR point totals across all races is low this week and since every penalty no matter how big, small, warranted or wrong is -10 SR, one does enough damage already.

I have noticed a few times that the car behaved differently in some races, thought it was just me having a real bad race lol.

It also can help on the really high speed braking zones if you pull out of the slipstream before applying the brakes, then move back in behind before corner turn it. That puts you in clean air and restores downforce.

From personal experience high B/S lobbies feel cleaner and more respectful of eachother than low A/S ones where you tend to see more people making desperate moves to get past.

It sounds then that those parameters, if the right word, are different for online dailies, than for a custom race against the AI. Cold tires, dirty air, fuel load, don't seem to be in play in an AI race or a practice session, but are programmed crazytime for a daily.

More practice...

The best way to match daily race or FIA race conditions is an online lobby.
I think in any race where fuel use is zero the fuel load is zero. It's pretty much certain in daily qualifying or FIA free practice.

I got to say, Race C, Spain produced some AWESOME races. Seriously, every-one raced very clean, respective, and overall just a ton of fun. Granted, I was in the A/S lobbies, but there usually some bad eggs thrown in there. I had terrible luck with **** drivers at Suzuka last week... This week was a complete opposite. Very close racing, great drivers. I qualified with a 1:45.3 and still never sat on pole. There were a ton of great/fast drivers out there.

For some reason I don’t have much interest in Interlagos this week. I will probably still enter a race or two there, though as well as the main event.
If anyone fears Interlagos, turn on line and cones, and DO NOT qual beyond your ability, give yourself a 1-2 second cushion. There’s an awful large portion of the player base now that’s quick there, but it’s critical to know the racing line.
People who know where that is there will get effin pissed if you are in a 3 car pack holding everyone up trying to go 3 wide everywhere. Also it’s an early easy brake track. Late braking is just gonna ruin your time. It’s an absolutely fantastic track once you find its flow, but if you go for a unicorn qual lap you’ll get eaten up by pace.
I’d say qual at your pace then you shouldnt be under crazy pressure getting bombed etc.
Of course, none of that matters too much this week because Cx2 at LeMans!
Got a chance early to put in a couple laps, this will be my go to...

Cheers

Also the AI is not that bad at Interlagos on pro. I reccomend running a few so you can get a feel for how the track works.

I just saw @RacingGrandpa in my first race back. Good race, no SR Downs (track limit penalty though) but can't pass a R92CP in a 787B. Drafting all the way down the straight, no matter, can't pass.

I went up 11 places from the back despite messing up a few times. First I went the chicane route in lap one, oops. Executed perfectly (no barriers in the way) but the rest of the field simply passed me of course. Luckily no one was close enough behind me to run into the back of me when I started braking for the first chicane lol. I also went wide in Mulsanne, different braking points in 787B at 370 kph.

Fun race, R92CP next. (Seems to be the meta as well)

Btw where did the clock go, what's this blue swirly thing while waiting.

@sturk0167

Dark Angel is gettin race prepped for tonight!
My engineers are doing a safety check lol!

Which. IMO, is unfair to those of us (me) that aren't of vast experience, but who practice a lot to know the tracks and cars. Granted, you won't have the dirty air, but fuel and tires (especially) should be real world even if running alone. Are there settings in Arcade TT to set those? I haven't seen them. But in that AI race, I did set fuel at +1 and tires +5, just to see how the tires would wear. Negligible. But it would be nice if the dirty air was programmed into the AI races. It seems it's inviting disaster without some sort of practice with all the variables.

Oh, and... Online lobbies. Doesn't one have to be invited? Not sure how it works. I'm having a hard enough time chewing on what I've bitten off so far.

R92CP is a bit faster but I'm going back to the 787B. I've driven the R92CP enough, plus that engine sound of the 787B is worth the 6 kph loss on the straight. My TV keeps cutting out randomly though, very annoying. Multiple times per race the sound disappears for a few seconds and a couple times the screen went black for a second. Last race with the final chicane in the final lap coming up ugh. HDMI is ****, I never had these issues with analog cables.

It's only GT Sport that does it too. I've been playing Tlou2 a lot, same setup, 4K/HDR with ARC audio pass through to amp, not a single issue. Working perfectly fine last night, now the sound already cut out a dozen times in 2 races, picture about 4 times. Extra difficulty mode?

You can make your own, set to friends only and have it set for only 2 players. That way the odds of someone entering are really small. Anyone can make a lobby. 👍
