Break time till tonight!

Low B DR and 3.08.8 time landed me 2 pole positions (Disconnected on one. Damit!), and Q3 and Q4.

Finished P1 on one, and under p5 on others, so that was nice :).

Handful of fun racing for a few laps with folks here and there, glad I can compete here.

Unable to dig into those corners like many can, and there’s a few places I like to fly into the sand so I’m braking more than I need too, or braking slightly when I know I don’t have to.

But between penalties and slips, I’m on full safe mode!

Hope to see you guys out there!

This happened to me once or twice... but.... the only reason I havnt done it to anyone myself, is good driving behind me :). I can definitely do some fear driven braking here.

My times for the night, and tomorrow, some racin´! :sly:👍
...jesus I almost lost my sanity in La Sarthe... :banghead:
Some times I would run wide and not get a penalty, noticeably wider than the top 10 ghost I was following, other times I´d take their exact same line and I WOULD get a penalty! And it invalidates your whole lap instead of adding the penalty time to your qualifying time at the end of the lap, like, ugh... anyway, if track limit penalties are like that on the race, and each penalty costs you 10 SR, then uh... I may end up not running it at all :scared:?

I know Race B this week will be my bread and butter, with some Race A on the side if I feel like it. But I don´t know about Race C... so much potential for divebombing, crashing, track limit incidents and dumb penalties. I might not bother, even though it´s like a dream :indiff:.

Nice laps! I’ve got you by .3 in the Rarri, but you’ve got me by .6 at Lemons. What’s a good car for B? I haven’t tried that one yet.

HOLY $#%*!! That Daily Race C is a BLAST!

I jumped in to race one, after putting in some K' Speed Score practice on my QT, for each of the Dailies, just curious how it was to race in it. I use my alt account to get a feel for the Dailies before going on to main account, just to set QT for each race, even though I don't use the main account for Dailies anymore. I only had the Sauber via the Lewis Hamilton challenge Silvers, on that account, so far, because I've only used it for a handful of days. But I didn't care how I did, as long as I was mid-pack it was fine.

But that race is a riot! And that Sauber Mercedes-Benz SOUNDS INCREDIBLE! I worked my way up to 5th by the middled of the 3rd lap, from starting 11th (Sauber seems outmatched at first, but I read here if you can keep the slipstream, and stay on track, it's competitive in the race, so I didn't care). My hands were getting sweaty so I took them off the wheel in the Mulsanne straight to put my glove one... BIG MISTAKE! The G29 started bouncing off it's FF and I had to ditch into the kitty litter near the second chicane spot... I fell back to 8th and had to work my way past the same guys, until I recovered and finished 5th.

I was surprised to see @RacingGrandpa in the finishing order at the end of the race... I didn't realize I had worked my Alt account up to a range I'd see anyone from here yet... but that was cool! Nice result! Another GTP friend who I've been lucky to be matched with in Dailies or FIA races. Maybe I'll see you out there again another time... I have to run that race again... and I may just have to splurge from my new Alt account savings to buy something faster... but that Sauber is an absolute joy to drive... like a big kitten with massive power until the gearbox stops the party after just 5th gear!

But: I will say that I'm so happy that I can race in the Dailies now on an Alt account, without fear of what could happen to mess up my FIA season... makes it so much more fun.

One of my favorite cars IRL, it's awesome to drive in GT Sport!

Really cool how powerful the Sauber is, when the newer VGT cars get it in the turns, just be right on the marks on the apex and the engine will do the rest until the next turn!

Used the Hyundai, has quite a nice ammount of grip. I'll try and get ya on the Ferrari-fest qualifying time soon enough .

Not track limits.

well, thank god you said that. I might run it now .

...so while Race C was a blast, I have to say thanks to PD for saving me $400k with that Race A. I will not be ordering my Ferrari Tributo, asking to see their consigned 458 stock, nor would I bother to take the Lago Maggiore Delivery Experience option...

So hard to find the limits! Haven't ventured a race yet, but will give it ago later this week.

Have done two race B's in low B/S lobbies, they were relatively clean, surprisingly, given my prior experiences at Interlagos. But I don't dare run many more, having scratched the itch. The AMG was pretty handy, but the Corvette was a pig around there. That's all the Gr3 cars I have so far on that account.

And my son asked me to change the settings on his account, to allow chat in Fortnite, so the nice situation with no chat enabled in GT Sport is no longer... I thought it was a Sony thing, that they would not allow certain ages regardless, but maybe they changed it to allow parents to override the default now. I may have to change it back. I wonder if there are game-specific settings for that sort of thing?

This week hot laps

Now i know why i was iceskating at the apexes with the 458, i'm needlesly down a gear at the end of breaking zones.
Thanks for the videos!

The racing bug killed me and with the motivation of the vid i jumped on the 458, made 5 quick q laps with a best of 1.30.480, entered the race with morning players of my region i know well.
Started 5th, spinned middle of 1st lap trying not to hit the pilot front at hard breaking.
Down to P8 with the spin and an absurd 1sc penalty.
Next laps some clean passes and to P5 at the end.
It is a good combo actually if you know the limits of the car, especially brakes and tires and your piloting skills (the most important ).:D
This combo may help slow pilots like me to get used to the fast cars and races of higher levels.

you could argue that something sounds as good as the C9 but you couldn't convince me that anything sounds better.

I imagined race C as a nice place to recover damaged SR. It isn't actually. After 3 races, rather uneventful, with just 2 penalties for track limits, one shunt in the wall through the curves and one rather hard contact with other driver who decided to not let me pass when I was in his slipstream and closed the door when I was next to him, I can see my SR no better than before... So easy to lost it now, so hard to recover. Nice race though in that Mazda's screamer. Just a pity people mainly choose Nissan which is just a tad faster and the grid is not fully loaded with all the group C machinery.

Was away from the game for a couple of months. Was happy to see Interlagos Gr.3, one of my more favoured combos.
Did a few laps in the Mazda, got a 1:32.1, not sure if that's enough for a high quali in A/S... anyone know?

I must have missed you. How did I finish? I had a few races yesterday where it was good clean racing and a few where I ran myself off.
But the race C is marvelous! I am now going to make a point of using all the Gr C cars.

Edit: this is my NA alt :)

Unpopular opinion but I didn’t enjoy race C last night. A few lobbies full of the meta car and the fact that even with slip you don’t gain down the straight kills this race. I might have to switch cars and try again but why didn’t they gear the group C cars for 250+ is a bummer. Would’ve been epic having proper drafting battles down that long straight. Struggled with dirty air too, it feels very random in group C, sometimes you don’t have understeer and sometimes you do.

Every lobby I have been in has been a mix. Last one yesterday had a Porsche -19 in p3!
But yes, mostly R92CP'S.
I did ok in the 787b too

Guide is out now! I'm still a little unsure whether I should break these down more so that they are more detailed. As in I could go a little more detailed and stop footage at brake markers but if I did that combined the video could end up being 40/50 minutes. If anyone has any ideas or wants anything changing let me know :)!

I did a couple of Race C last night. The first race, I went in cold. No practice, no qualifying. Went Q16 to P3. Took advice from the board here and used the Nissan.

My second race had @x5abotagex86 in it. I set a Q lap and started 6(?). There was some carnage at Mulsanne and was top 4 I think with @x5abotagex86 behind me when I carried too much speed into Indianapolis and dragged him with me. Eventually found myself P18. We made our way through the field helping to slipstream each other and ended P9 and P10(me).

Next race was in my alt and qualified 6th again. This time I ended up P2 as everyone made mistakes.

I then ran another Q lap end got a 2:08 in the 787B which was 2 seconds faster than my Nissan time and 3 seconds faster than my main account. I may run that tonight.

I first ran the 787b, then the Nissan. I was faster in that. Then I ran the Jag and was about the same speed as the Nissan.
Then I watched @GOTMAXPOWER s replay, followed in the Jag and improves over my Nissan time by two seconds.
I then ran the Nissan with his ghost and improved by two seconds again.
The 787 and the Jag are faster in the twisted parts than the Nissan but the R92CP is a lot faster down the straight and you spend a third of the lap time on straights.

you could argue that something sounds as good as the C9 but you couldn't convince me that anything sounds better.
It's funny because I've always noted how MB/AMG have taken what sounds great about American V8's and made them even better. And it all seems to point back to this Sauber with the turbocharged MB V8. How they get them to sound like that with the turbos before the exhaust, I'll not understand, but they are amazing. I didn't really care what place I was in while driving that car, with the sound up or headphones on, it's the best I've heard in the game so far.

First race today went well, bit sleepy still but no mishaps. I had a great multi lap chase with a R92CP which is indeed a bit slower in the twisty parts and needs to brake a little earlier. First time I passed him was at Mulsanne, out braked along the outside (although not planned, he simply started braking a little earlier), but he passed again with higher top speed. Second time out accelerating out of Arnage, but couldn't get enough of lead before the straight. 1 second is too little. However out accelerating from Mulsanne did the trick with enough time to build up a 1.7 sec gap for the next straight, enough to stay ahead. (No one else to draft all that time)

Second race @McYavel was there. Great to see you again. Too many cars into Mulsanne though lap 1, although braking earlier, I tapped one after avoiding another, so hang back a bit letting him recover. No penalty (he didn't go off, just messed up his line a bit) but SR Down. There was a nasty one bar connection interfering but I somehow managed to avoid his teleporting car. The race went great until disconnected start lap 4 due to data loss grrr.

First race, back to 99 SR, second race, SR Down plus DC, to 89 SR. Into the chaos room :/

I will have to check out the replay. While testing the 787B, I noticed the top end was a good 5-6 MPH slower than the Nissan so I did not expect to shave 2 seconds off of its time. I was quite surprised! I'm still going to try one race with it though.

@jimihemmy
Always a pleasure! Glad we found each other again later in the race and were able to help each other! We were so cautious of each other going into the turn after the straight, that I think we lost several second each time lmao!

I was in a party with some friends, prolly good you couldn’t hear me, I was just yelling JIMI!!!!! for most the race :D Good fun, I dont remember what happened in the carnage early on lol.
Have a habit of having a little rough go - my first lap or so :)

Ran another after - finishing p2. After about 5 top 5 finishes here my DR went up for the first time in two weeks :)

Loving race C so far though. Lot of good/long battles! We’ll see if I can hold positions if I start getting into faster lobbies...

ive gone back too the 787B myself now that I’m comfortable with the track. If I don’t have a slip steam I can loose about 2 seconds or more on the long straight, but I’ve had slipstream most runs.

Lol check out my DR graph link in my sig, my inconsistency is super consistent. Lol quite the pattern has emerged, a telling story!

Oh No, I'm being slaughtered in race A, all part of the fun and back to cars slamming into me so they can make a turn lmao :)

Hug the inside of the corners early on when ever you can. Over all the car slides very easily if you aren't careful, so people may not be intentionally dirty. Take a very defensive line lap 1, and then get away from the mid pack. If you do find yourself in the mid pack, just be patient and let others miss their braking points and get penalties to clear room for you. Having 4 laps really gives you an opportunity to fight back towards the front, even if lap one is a disaster.

SR S lobbies for Race A have been mostly clean because the penalties come easy for ramming or going off. Out of like 6-8 races, I only had one person ram me full speed on the last corner, which is decent for this track.
