First attempt at race B, carefully feeling it out. I started 7th, most don't qualify for Nord as usual but thanks to my high DR from Sarthe I still started in front of all the other non qualifiers. Clean race bonus, 4th place finish, race B is worth 5 SR this week. Thus net -5 SR for the first SR Down, -15 SR for the second, etc.

It seems to be another week of driving on egg shells at the Nord. Find that threshold just before the car starts to slide to carry speed. If you can call it speed after going 373 kph all week. I'm going to enjoy people still being careful for now. Usually it lasts until Monday evening, then DR resets.

Lol for real, starting 3rd next, only 2 qualified. My record is starting 2nd, only one qualifier.

wait you lose 2 times more SR points for the second SR down?? it has never been so easy to get a DR reset these days

No it's -10 SR per SD Down and the race is worth max 5 SR.

Actually missing one sector already brings it down to 4 SR. (I was messing around at the start in the second race). So if you get one SR Down there is max 4 SR left to earn during the race, thus -6 SR after the race. 2 SR Downs is net -16 SR or up to -20 if you miss more sectors. 3 SR Downs, -26 SR up to -30 SR.

Next race, 3 SR Downs from Brazil in my last race (A simple tap from behind is already SR Down) net result -24 SR. Which is odd, maybe the one Brazil bump where I got 1 sec penalty counted a bit less lol.

Very useful so I guess I'd better do some serious practice if I am going to go into Race B then.

Race B Qualifying lap:

Ignore the couple of pauses on the Dottinger Hohe, the cat was sitting next to me but started coughing so I had to check on her, she seems fine 👍

...the magician reveals their secrets...

Thanks max, welll done

Well race A seems fun, nice cockpit view! Did one race and it was pretty bumpy. Lost some Sr

Race b is intimidating for me, maybe later in the week!

off to try race C in some different cars! I find most the corners surprisingly similar as the normal race

@GOTMAXPOWER Nice win btw. I left quickly, Brazil crashed me and bumped me to SR.B. Bit sooner than expected, but you never know when those laggy cars show up. Oh well I was in SR.S for a day :)

Disconnected due to data loss next one, Monday! It's PSN. PSN server could not be reached. Happened again twice while waiting for match making. It needs some 'stability' improvements.

Tried Race A this morning. QT 59.014. Started 4th/finished 3rd. Pretty relaxed race. Could really use an overtake button or nitro to spice it up.

Probably will try B later. I avoid Mondays on Nurb. I always get in the way of all the non-qualifiers.

Laid a 1:39.683 in the M4. Accelerating out of a corner is magical. Amazing.

The Lancer is also pretty quick round there. Will try get a better quali time.

None. I was in the lobby with Mr Tidgney, was so stressed I really drove like a moron

I know the feeling. Especially when you know you'll bottle it and may end up in his awesome race guides hahaha.

@Tidgney eager to see your track guide, got my time for race C, down to a 1:38.5. But sure there is time to be made.

Any toyotas 86?

Took out my 86 for my first race c.

Felt good all around, and it’s a very forgiving car.

I found the wall just before the finish line on lap 1. Dropped back to 14th. Fun race from then on, sloppy but clean driving from my pack lol. Finished p9.

So I enjoyed the 86, think there’s plenty of time to make use of its strength. Gonna try others, see how it stacks up (for me)

I was hard on my tires ALL race, held up fine, just a little more careful on the brakes at the end.

edit - 2nd race A i was Q2. Bad start for p1, got ahead immediately and stayed on for the win. Yay for easy points/practice laps :D

Yep. One race A and only increased 3 positions from the back, so dropped DR. But do want to give a big shout out to Brasil who couldn't drive for beans, went so far off and up Graham Hill that he almost scrubbed the back of the pit wall, came back 2/3rds the way down the str8. I was just through the hairpin so got a good view. Passed him at Surtees, and sure enough, he punted my at Clark. Why he didn't get a track limit penalty for climbing the hill I don't know.

Also, bought the '81 911 this morning to practice the Nord. But after reading about the SR down comments, don't know if maybe I'll sell it back. I just can't remember that track as I should and say hello to several walls. Getting old. That and the grid start, with everyone wanting to be first to the second turn, ummmmm. For now I'll keep practicing for race A + C.

Yeah. No rush for me this week. Even with DTG as a dangling carrot.

Trying to deny the race you want...

Finally giving in...

And finally, how you get treated in the race...

Nothing like the family feline making obscene noises to ruin a race. :yuck:

Whew! Glad I'm not in the same region as he is. I can comfortably look like a buffoon in my own videos.

Good news / bad news: the Race B at the Nordschleife is in a provided car, no need to buy the Porsche. But at least you're the owner of a sweet classic Porsche!

2nd race C was interesting. Ran the Viper. Q12 finish P7. My pace was similar to my 86.

First few laps I was by someone who was banging around a lot, looked like he was just pushing hard, but fighting his car more than the track. Ended up with a 4s penalty from him.... :(
Thankfully it was early enough that the rest of the race being clean meant no SR.

Last two laps there was a RCZ causing ruckus everywhere. Tires musta been a mess, went off at end so I was happy to cleanly get by. He apologized for giving me n someone else a little punt.

MY tires were definitely more beat up on the viper at the end than when I ran the 86. Things started getting slippery around lap8-9

But a good finish despite a lot of ruckus! Good battles otherwise

edit - suddenly back up to were I left off in DR. Next race was much faster lobby, and the elbows were out! I was not prepared lol!
Everytime I gave anyone room I got jumped by the pack lol
P13 finish - 6places from quitters

These races aren’t good for me...WHY Gardens reverse why?
Forward is a fun track.
It’ll be minis for me if I race, which will be a doorbanger...
I just tried race A. Made it from no-qual to 2nd. I didn't touch anybody, and it seemed pretty easy to avoid contact. I got the CRB, but maybe it was a fluke. I've only done it once. Not a very exciting race, though. :indiff:

Race C seems like it's gonna be my bread and butter this week, I absolutely love Gardens Reverse and I don't get to drive Gr.4 cars very often (lobbies seem to prefer Gr.3 with RSS tires...), and I'm not even going to bother qualifying for Race B. I went to Race A, qualified, not running it though, I am barely a few tenths away from the top 10 times. On Race C...

Mom? Mom? MOM THAT'S ME!
I am seriously so happy, I think this may be a turning point for me and it's given me so much more confidence, that I actually can take the fight and punch above my weight on raw one lap pace at the very least. Even if it's not all that impressive (y'know... one lap pace...) that won't take away my happiness, this has made my day. :D

In the race, a 650S that qualified around 1.5 seconds behind kept me on their sights for the whole race, and I was wondering why. I did end up winning the race pretty convincingly, but I was keeping one of my eyes on the gaps and the other on the track and running as consistently as I could.

So, after the "That was a good race!"'s and the "Thank you."'s, I saved the replay and went to watch it for a while. As in, 3 minutes. Because I thought I knew why that was the case.

For around half the race I was shouting to my imaginary race engineer as if I were Natalia Hamilton.

"Bono. Bono these tires aren't gonna make it- BONO! I can't keep the car behind! Can you not see that?"
"BONO MY TIRES ARE DEAD"

sheesh that's some wear.
The 650S behind, on the other hand...

"The tires feel good. Much grippier than before. Amazing."

Now I'm getting used to the 650, so I can have the same pace as I have with the Viper and race with the 650S' better tire wear. I also noticed how it uses a lot more fuel, therefore making it lighter than the Viper the longer the race goes for. We'll see how that goes.

I was there, but the peruvian guy ruined my pace
